Abstract

Se proporciona un método para controlar un calentador eléctrico (14) en un sistema para fumar calentado eléctricamente, cuyo método comprende: proporcionar energía eléctrica al calentador en forma de impulsos de modo que durante los períodos activos se suministre energía al calentador y durante los períodos inactivos no se suministre energía al calentador; cargar un condensador (52) en un circuito RC (36) durante los períodos inactivos y permitir que el condensador se descargue durante los períodos activos; y monitorear una tensión de descarga del condensador y, si la tensión de descarga del condensador cae por debajo de un nivel de tensión umbral, detener el suministro adicional de energía eléctrica al calentador. Este método permite la detección consistente y fiable de una falla en el interruptor usando componentes compactos y de baja potencia.
