Abstract
Un método para producir una resina absorbente de agua que incluye un paso de polimerización de un componente polimerizable que contiene un monómero soluble en agua etilénicamente insaturado disuelto en agua utilizando un iniciador de la polimerización radicalaria soluble en agua de tipo azo para obtener un sistema de reacción que incluye un precursor de resina absorbente de agua, y un paso de deshidratación de eliminación del agua del sistema de reacción por calentamiento. En el paso de deshidratación, un iniciador de la polimerización radicalaria soluble en agua se agrega al sistema de reacción en una cualquier primera etapa de la deshidratación cuando la proporción de agua residual calculada por la fórmula (1) sea de 50% o más, y se agrega una sustancia reductora al sistema de reacción en una cualquier segunda etapa de la deshidratación cuando la velocidad de agua residual disminuya de su valor en la primera etapa de deshidratación por 10% o más. De acuerdo con este método de producción, puede obtenerse una resina absorbente de agua que tiene capacidades de absorción de agua satisfactorias, suprimiendo al mismo tiempo el contenido de monómeros residuales.
