Abstract
También se divulga un método que comprende iluminar el ojo con una fuente luminosa que tiene al menos una de una propiedad de longitud de onda, una propiedad de polarización o una combinación de las mismas, cada una apropiada para producir fluorescencia en al menos un compuesto de unión a amiloide cuando el compuesto de unión a amiloide se une a la proteína amiloide, habiéndose introducido el compuesto de unión a amiloide en el ojo y uniéndose específicamente a la proteína amiloide indicativa del trastorno amiloidogénico; y determinar una tasa de desintegración en el tiempo de fluorescencia para al menos la fluorescencia producida por el compuesto de unión a amiloide unido a la proteína amiloide, permitiendo la determinación distinguir la presencia del compuesto de unión a amiloide unido a la proteína amiloide en el ojo basándose en al menos la tasa de desintegración en el tiempo.Reivindicación 1: Un dispositivo para detectar una proteína amiloide en un ojo de un mamífero, comprendiendo el dispositivo: una fuente luminosa configurada para emitir luz para ¡luminar el ojo con al menos una de una longitud de onda de luz, una polarización de luz o una combinación de las mismas, cada una apropiada para producir fluorescencia en al menos un compuesto de unión a amiloide cuando el compuesto de unión a amiloide está unido a proteína amiloide, habiéndose introducido el compuesto de unión a amiloide en el ojo y uniéndose específicamente a la proteína amiloide indicativa del trastorno amiloidogénico; y una unidad óptica configurada para recibir luz incluyendo fluorescencia producida como un resultado de la iluminación del ojo y para determinar una tasa de desintegración en el tiempo de fluorescencia para al menos la fluorescencia producida por el compuesto de unión a amiloide unido a la proteína amiloide, permitiendo la determinación distinguir la presencia del compuesto de unión a amiloide unido a la proteína amiloide en el ojo basándose al menos en la tasa de desintegración en el tiempo.
