Abstract

Reivindicacion 1: Proceso para la preparacion de etileno que comprende poner en contacto una materia prima que comprende etanol con un catalizador de ácido fosfotungstico a una temperatura en el rango de 210° C a 270° C y una presion en el rango de 1.5 MPa a 2.5 MPa, en donde el catalizador de ácido fosfotungstico es un catalizador de ácido fosfotungstico soportado y en donde el desempeno del catalizador de ácido fosfotungstico bajo Condiciones de prueba A satisface la siguiente inecuacion: Selectividad hacia compuestos C4 en etileno (ppmw) / ppmw < o = 0.6257x Productividad de etileno (g/l/hr) / g/l/hr donde las Condiciones de prueba A son: un reactor de flujo de tapon tubular que tiene un diámetro de reactor interno de 4.2 mm que contiene un volumen de catalizador de aproximadamente 1 cm3 un tamano de partícula de catalizador de 125 a 180 microm; una carga de ácido fosfotungstico en el rango de 270 a 295 g de ácido fosfotungstico por kg de catalizador; una temperatura de 240° C y una presion de 2 MPa; y velocidades de flujo de carga como sigue: etanol (1.724 g/hr), dietiléter (3.417 g/hr), agua (0.080 g/hr), nitrogeno (1.001 g/hr) y metano (0.032 g/hr).
