Abstract
Un aparato para posicionamiento y apertura de moluscos que tiene por lo menos una línea de procesamiento se caracteriza porque incluye una estacion de alimentacion y singularizacion seguida de una estacion de dispositivo de reorientacion que utiliza un sistema visual y una estacion de dispositivo de sostenimiento y apertura. Dichas estaciones de procesamiento están operativamente conectadas entre sí en ese orden para recibir moluscos que tienen carne adentro y para posicionarlos en funcion de su forma y orientacion y partirlos a la mitad e manera que una de las mitades de los moluscos tenga la carne el molusco en ella. Se incluye también un método que comprende los pasos de singularizar los moluscos; aplicar el sistema visual para determinar y comparar orientacion de moluscos, reorientar cada molusco de manera que los moluscos estén apuntando en la direccion correcta, confinar a dicho molusco contra el dispositivo de alineacion vertical para provocar que dicho molusco esté substancialmente vertical y cargar el molusco sobre el dispositivo levantador a fin de levantar dicho molusco y permitir que el dispositivo de sostenimiento y apertura lo sostenga contra el quebrador de articulacion, aplicar un vacío para crear una abertura por donde el dispositivo de cuchilla opera deslizablemente para cortar la carne de una de las mitades de los moluscos.
