Abstract
Un método para utilizar en una red de comunicacion inalámbrica que incluye una unidad de transmision/recepcion (WTRU) y una estacion base, en donde la estacion base transmite una pluralidad de canales comunes que cubren una célula sectorizada usando al menos un haz, comprendiendo el método: generar al menos un haz formado para transmitir y recibir una comunicacion; barrer el canal formado, en donde el haz es dirigido selectivamente en una pluralidad de ubicaciones, cada ubicacion en un tiempo predeterminado; recibir un informe desde una WTRU indicando el tiempo de recepcion del haz barrido; y determinar la ubicacion de la WTRU en base al tiempo de recepcion del haz barrido informado. También se divulga una estacion base configurada para transmitir la pluralidad de canales comunes que cubren la célula sectorizada usando al menos un haz.
