Abstract
Una enzima xilanasa de la familia 11 modificada que comprende residuos de cisteína en las posiciones 99 y 118 para formar un enlace disulfuro intramolecular. La xilanasa modificada se produce por sustitucion de un aminoácido en posicion 99, 118 o ambas posiciones 99 y 118 con una cisteína para producir el enlace disulfuro intramolecular. Las xilanasas de la presente muestran termofilia, alcalofilia o termoestabilidad mejoradas en relacion con xilanasas del tipo salvaje. Tales xilanasas se usan en una variedad de aplicaciones en la industria que requieren actividades enzimáticas a temperaturas y/o valores de pH superiores a las enzimas originales.
