Abstract
Un dispositivo para grabar informacion en un portador de grabacion está dispuesto para formatear un portador de grabacion de capas multiples. El dispositivo posee medios de formateo para formatear el portador de grabacion de acuerdo con el cual incluye descongelamiento mediante, ante el caso de que las ubicaciones en el área de datos del usuario no hayan sido grabadas aun, la escritura de datos no operacionales en las ubicaciones. Los medios de formateo determinan una primera posicion radial y una primera capa, cuya primera posicion radial es indicativa de una ubicacion en la primera capa en la cual se grabaran datos del usuario primero de acuerdo con un formato de grabacion predefinido. En forma subsiguiente dicho descongelamiento es iniciado mediante la escritura de datos no operacionales en una segunda capa del portador de grabacion en la primera posicion radial, opuesta a la ubicacion de los primeros datos del usuario. Así se crea un área descongelada opuesta a los datos del usuario.
