Abstract

En la presente, se revelan varias realizaciones no limitantes relacionadas con dispositivos oftálmicos que comprenden materiales fotocromicos que tienen sistemas pi conjugados extendidos. Por ejemplo, varias realizaciones no limitantes reveladas aquí proporcionan un material fotocromico, tal como naftopirano fusionado o indeno, que comprende un grupo que extiende el sistema pi conjugado del naftopirano fusionado a indeno unido a la posicion 11 del mismo. Además, los materiales fotocromicos, de acuerdo con ciertas realizaciones no limitantes reveladas en la presente, pueden exhibir absorcion hipercromica de radiacion electromagnética en comparacion con los materiales fotocromicos convencionales y/o pueden tener un espectro de absorcion de forma cerrada que está batocromicamente desplazado en comparacion con los materiales fotocromicos convencionales.
