Abstract
Un proceso para regenerar un sorbente útil para desulfurar un fluido que contiene azufre, dicho proceso comprende los siguientes pasos: (a) cargar una corriente de regeneración que contiene oxígeno a una zona de regeneración; b) cargar un sorbente sulfurado que comprende un metal promotor y sulfuro de cinc a dicha zona de regeneración, que comprende los pasos de: C) hacer contactar dicho sorbente sulfurado con dicha corriente de regeneración en dicha zona de regeneración bajo las condiciones de regeneración suficientes como para mantener una presión parcial de dióxido de azufre promedio en dicha zona de regeneración dentro de un rango entre alrededor de 0,1 psig (0,69 kPa) y alrededor de 10 psig (69 kPa).
