Abstract
Las baterías, como por ejemplo las baterías alcalinas, son comunmente utilizadas como fuentes de energía. En general, las baterías alcalinas comprenden uncátodo y un ánodo dentro de ella, un separador que los separa eléctricamente y una solucion electrolítica. El cátodo típicamente está hecho de un materialactivo (por ejemplo, dioxido de manganeso), partículas de carbon y un aglomerante. El ánodo puede estar constituido por un gel que comprenda un material activo(por ejemplo, partículas de zinc). El separador generalmente se dispone entre el cátodo y el ánodo. La solucion electrolítica que se dispersa por toda labatería, puede ser una solucion de hidroxido. Las baterías alcalinas incluyen a las baterías AA, AAA, AAAA, C y D convencionales incluyen una carcasacilíndrica que contiene un ánodo de gel de zinc central, cilíndrico rodeado por un cátodo de dioxido de manganeso con forma de anillo. En general esconveniente que una batería posea una prolongada vida util.
