Abstract

Un complejo alcohol-éster, un lubricante que lo comprende y un procedimiento para producirlo. El complejo alcohol-éster comprende elproducto de reaccion de una mezcla de adicion que tiene lo siguiente: un compuesto polihidroxilor epresentando por la formula general: R(OH(n, donde Res cualquier grupo hidrocarbilo alifático o ciclo-alifático y n es por lo menos 2, con la condicion de que el grupo hidrocarbilo contenga deaproximadamente 2 a 20 átomos de carbono; unácido o anhídrido polibásico de un ácido polibásico, con la condicion de que la relacion de equivalentes delácido polibásico a equivalentes de alcohol del compuesto polihidroxilo está en el rango de entre aproximadamente 1,6:1 a 2:1; y unalcohol monohí drico conla condicion de que la relacion de equivalentes del alcohol monohídrico a equivalentes del ácido polibásico esté en el rango de entre aproximadamente0,84:1 a 1,2:1; donde el complejo alcohol éster exhiba un punto de escurr imiento de menos de o igual a -20°C, una viscosidad en el rango de entreaproximadamente 100-700 cSt a 40°C y tiene una concentracion de éster de ácido polibásico de menos de o igual a 70% en peso, basada en el complejoalcohol-éster.
