Abstract

A lubricating composition consists of (A) an oil of viscosity 1 to 30 centistokes at 210 DEG F., a neutralization value not above 1 mg. KOH/g and consisting of one or more polyesters having at least two ester linkages per molecule and obtained from trimethylol propane and either (1) caprylic and/or pilagonic acid, or (2) a mixture of caprylic and/or pilargonic acid with sebacic and/or adipic acid, and (B) 0,1 to 5% of <FORM:0933505/III/1> where R is an alkyl group containing up to 15 carbon atoms. The ethyl and n decyl phenothiazines are specified. The Provisional Specification also lists other alcohols and acids from which the polyesters may be obtained.
