Abstract
Se revela una rueda abrasiva compuesta, ligada con polímero, para realizar operaciones de amolado y especialmente para usar en máquinas de biselado devidrio de múltiples estaciones. La rueda abrasiva penetra rápidamente y presenta undesempe no constante con escasa o ninguna necesidad dereacondicionamiento a lo largo de toda su vida útil. En uno de los aspectos de la invención, la rueda abrasiva novedosa comprende un contorno abrasivo anular,montado concéntricamente sobre uncubo en for ma de copa. El contorno puede comprender un abrasivo tal como diamante o nitruro de boro cúbico, embebido enuna composición que contiene polímeros de amino aldehido y polímeros fenólicos termorrígidos, un plastificante y,opcionalmente, una car ga. El cubo comprendeun polímero entrecruzable, fuerte y rígido, preferentemente polímero termorrígido fenólico de melamina, mezclado con espodumeno en una cantidadeficaz para hacer que el coeficiente de dilatacióntérmica del cubo se corresponda con el del contorno. La rueda puede fabricarse sometiendo a laspreformas del contorno y del cubo a presión en caliente en forma simultánea, sin necesidad de un paso adicional de horneado. Opcionalmente, el contornoy elcubo pueden ser coloreados para identificar las características del abrasivo, y para ayudar a determinar en que momento la superficie de amolado se hadesgastado hasta el cubo.
