Abstract

En una red de comunicaciones que es basada en paquetes 100 se establece una conexión virtual entre un nodo fuente 102a y un nodo destino 102b, el cualpuede atravesar uno o más nodos intermedios 105. Durante el flujo de paquetes a lo largo de la conexión virtual en una dirección de avance, desde el nodofuente 102a al nodo de destino 102b, cada nodo mide la utilización de recursos críticos CUF, y esta información de utilización es insertada dentro de cadapaquete de retorno fluyendo en direcciónde retorno, desde el nodo destino 102b al nodo fuente 102a. El CUF es indicativo de la utilización máxima de cualquierrecurso en la trayectoria de avance de conexión virtual. Si la información de utilización de red indica que los recursos de una conexión virtual están siendosubutilizados, el rango de disposición de paquetes CIR de una conexión virtual es incrementado. De cualquier manera si la información de utilización de redindica que los recursos de una condición virtual están siendo sobreutilizados, el rango de disposición de paquetes en la red en el nodo fuente es reducido.
