Design N0. 4,702, dated March 14, 1871.
DESIGN FOR A MUFF.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SIMON HERZIG, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Muff and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of' this specification, in which drawing- Figure l represents a front view of this design.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal section of the sarne.
Similar letters indicate corresponding parts.
This design relates to a mud', which is made in the forni of a segment extending over an arc of somewhat less than one hundred and eighty degrees, so that the radial lines drawn from the ends of said segment are situated at about an angle of one hundred and seventy degrees toward each other, the Inuii being cnt open in the direction of said radial lines to give access to the hands of the person wearing the same.
In the drawing- The letter A designates my mu", which is made in the form of a segment, from the ends of which are drawn radial lines a, which inclose an angle of about one hundred and seventy degrees, as shown in g. 1 of the drawing.
The openings of the mui for the reception of the hands are made in the direction of said radial lines, and a muf is thus obtained which is convenient for wear, and which is different in appearance from other muis.
Itis obvious that my mui can be further ornamented by heads b and fringes c, according to taste and convenience, but such ornaments form no part of my present invention.
What 1 claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a muh", as herein shown and described.
