Description

UNITED STATES HENRY BERGER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR CENTER-PIECE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,447, dated December 26, 1871.
To alL whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY BERGER., of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Center- Piece; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specilication, which drawing represents a face view ol my centerpiece.
This invention relates to the design for a center-piece, the face of which is ornamented by a central button surrounded by a series oi'spherical triangles which inclose fields orn amented by segmental strings of beads. The sides of each of the spherical triangles extend beyond the apex and form the basis of cseutcheons, which are ornamented by arabesques and overshadowed by spread leaves.
In the drawing, the letter A designates the central button of my centerpiece, which is surrounded by a series of spherical triangles, B, which are ornamented by segmental strings of beads a.. The sides of each of the spherical triangles extend beyond the apex and form the bearers of escutcheons C, which are ornamented by arabesques, and the spaces between which are occupied by leaves D spreading over the sides of the escutcheons.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isf- 1. The combination of the spherical triangles B with the central bnttonA of a center-piece, as shown and described.
2. The combination of the escntcheons U with the spherical triangles B and central button A of a center-piece, as shown and described.
3. The spread leaves D, in combination with the escntcheons C, spherical triangles B, and central button A, as shown and described.
This speciication signed by me this 6th day of November, 1871.
