Claims (23)

  1. (A) (a) 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올, (b)2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올과 하나 이상의 다른 할로니트로알칸올 살균제 및 (c) 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올과 비-할로니트로알칸올 살균제인 하나 이상의 다른 살균제로 이루어진 그룹중에서 선택된 하나 이상의 미생물치사 유효량의 살균제(단, 살균제 (b)가 존재하는 경우, 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올은 전체 활성 살균제에 대해 적어도 약 10중량%이다)와 (B) 미생물치사용으로 허용되는 담체를 포함하는, 유체 속에서 미생물의 성장을 억제하는데 유용한 미생물치사 조성물.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 살균제가 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올인 미생물치사 조성물.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올이 하나 이상의 다른 살균제와 혼합되어 사용되는 미생물치사 조성물.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 살균제가 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올 및 하나 이상의 다른 할로니트로알칸올 살균제인 미생물치사 조성물.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 살균제가 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올과 비-할로니트로알칸올 살균제인 하나 이상의 다른 살균제인 미생물치사 조성물.
  6. 제2항에 있어서, 살균제가 조성물 속에 약 0.5내지 약 99중량%의 양으로 존재하는 미생물치사 조성물.
  7. 제5항에 있어서, 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올 살균제가 조성물 속에 약 1 내지 약99중량%의 양으로 존재하는 미생물치사 조성물.
  8. 제5항에 있어서, 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올 살균제가 조성물 속에 약 1 내지 약 10중량%의 양으로 존재하는 미생물치사 조성물.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 담체가 액체인 조성물.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 액체가 물, 알콜 및 불활성 유기 화합물로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택되는 조성물.
  11. 제1항에 있어서, 담체가 고체인 조성물.
  12. 제1항에 있어서, 고체가 고분자량 글리콜 및 규조토로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택되는 조성물.
  13. (a) 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올, (b) 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올과 하나 이상의 다른 할로니트로알칸올 살균제 및 (c) 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올과 비-할로니트로알칸올 살균제인 하나 이상의 다른 살균제(단, 살균제(b)가 존재하는 경우, 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올은 전체 활성 살균제에 대해 적어도 약 10중량%이다)로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택된 하나 이상의 살균제를 포함하는 미생물치사 유효량의 조성물을 유체와 접촉시킴을 특징으로 하여 유체 속에서 미생물의 성장을 치사시키거나 억제시키는 방법.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 살균제가 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올인 방법.
  15. 제13항에 있어서 살균제가 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올이 하나 이상의 다른 살균제와 혼합되어 사용되는 방법.
  16. 제13항에 있어서, 살균제가 2, 2-디브로모-2-니트로에탄올 및 비-할로니트로알칸올 살균제인 하나 이상의 다른 살균제인 방법.
  17. 제13항에 있어서, 살균제가 미생물치사용으로 허용되는 담체와 혼합되어 사용되는 방법.
  18. 제14항에 있어서, 살균제가 조성물 속에 약 0.5 내지 약 99중량%의 양으로 존재하는 방법.
  19. 제14항에 있어서, 미생물이 그람-음성 세균, 그람-양성 세균, 곰팡이류, 진균류, 바이러스 및 조류로 이루어진 그룹으로 선택되는 방법.
  20. 제13항에 있어서, 유체가 액체 배지인 방법.
  21. 제13항에 있어서, 유체가 냉각수 시스템인 방법.
  22. 제13항에 있어서, 유체가 펄프와 제지 작업에서 사용되는 액체인 방법.
  23. 제13항에 있어서, 유체가 유전 플루딩 작업에서 사용되는 액체인 방법.
