Abstract

729,840. Cathode-ray tubes. ' PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 1, 1953 [Jan. 4, 1952], No. 49/53. Class 39 (1). An electron lens consists of permanent magnets 1, 2 which are magnetized in the axial direction or radially. The strength of the field is adjustable by an arrangement 5 which regulates the distance between the magnets, which can be made of crystals of iron oxide and barium, strontium lead and calcium. The lens is enclosed by a screen 4 of soft iron and the electron beam is adjustable by a magnetic plate arranged on one side of a magnet. Specification 708,127, [Group XXXV], is referred to.
