522,377. Permanent magnets. FERRANTI, Ltd., TAYLOR, M. K., and WOOD, H. Dec. 7, 1938, No. 35633. [Class 35] [Also in Group XL] A magnet 1 for use in focusing in a cathode ray tube is annular and of opposite polarity at its outer periphery to its inner periphery. It may be concave and of various cross sections ; it may have pole-pieces on its inner or outer periphery and carry pieces 22 of magnetic material for correction of astigmatism. It may be an alloy of iron nickel and aluminium with or without cobalt. Specification 472,165, [Group XL], is referred to.
