본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 전극 압연 롤의 표면과 세정포가 접촉 가능하게 마련되는 세정 부재, 상기 세정포에 세정액을 분사하는 분사 노즐, 상기 세정액의 분사량을 조절하는 제어부, 및 상기 세정액의 분사량을 모니터링하는 모니터링부를 포함하고, 상기 세정액은 증류수이며, 상기 제어부는 분사 노즐에 의해 1회 분사되는 세정액의 양을 0.05ml 내지 0.2ml의 범위가 되도록 조절하는 것인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치가 제공된다.

Description

전극 압연 롤 세정 장치
본 발명은 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로는 압연 롤의 세정 시에 세정액 공급 방식이 개선된 세정 장치에 관한 것이다.
현대 사회에서는 휴대폰, 노트북, 캠코더, 디지털 카메라 등의 휴대형 기기 및 에너지 저장 장치(ESS)의 사용이 일상화되면서, 이와 관련된 분야의 기술에 대한 개발이 활발해지고 있다. 또한, 충방전이 가능한 이차 전지는 화석 연료를 사용하는 기존의 가솔린 차량 등의 대기 오염 등을 해결하기 위한 방안으로, 전기 자동차(EV), 하이브리드 전기 자동차(HEV), 플러그-인 하이브리드 전기 자동차(P-HEV) 등의 동력원으로 이용되고 있는 바, 이차 전지에 대한 개발의 필요성이 높아지고 있다.
현재 상용화된 이차 전지로는 니켈 카드뮴 전지, 니켈 수소 전지, 니켈 아연 전지, 리튬 이차 전지 등이 있는데, 이 중에서 리튬 이차 전지는 충, 방전이 자유롭고, 자가 방전율이 낮으며 에너지 밀도가 높은 장점이 있어 가장 많은 주목을 받고 있다.
이러한 리튬 이차 전지는 주로 리튬계 산화물과 탄소재를 각각 양극 활물질과 음극 활물질로 사용한다. 리튬 이차 전지는, 이러한 양극 활물질과 음극 활물질이 각각 도포된 양극판과 음극판이 세퍼레이터를 사이에 두고 배치된 전극 조립체와, 전극 조립체를 전해액과 함께 밀봉 수납하는 외장재, 즉 전지 케이스를 구비한다.
이러한 이차 전지는, 휴대형 전자기기와 같은 소형 장치뿐 아니라, 전기 자동차나 전력 저장 시스템(Energy Storage System; ESS)과 같은 중대형 장치에도 널리 이용되고 있으며, 그 이용 정도가 급격하게 증대되고 있다. 더욱이, 최근에는, 전력을 저장하기 위한 용도로서, 주택용 전지 팩의 이용 추세가 늘어나고 있다.
이러한 리튬 이차 전지의 제조 공정은 크게 전극 공정, 조립 공정, 화성 공정의 3단계로 구분된다. 상기 전극 공정은 다시 활물질 혼합 공정, 전극 코팅 공정, 압연 공정, 슬리팅 공정, 권취 공정 등으로 구분된다. 이 중, 압연 공정은 코팅 공정이 끝난 전극 기재의 두께를 축소시켜 용량 밀도를 높이고, 전극 집전체와 전극 활물질 간의 접착성을 증가시키기 위해, 고온 가열된 한 쌍의 압연 롤 사이로 전극 기재를 통과시켜 원하는 두께로 압축하는 공정이다.
이와 같은 압연 과정에서, 반복적인 압연이 진행되면서 압연 시 롤에 압연 후 남은 활물질 또는 기타 이물질이 부착될 경우, 이후의 압연 과정에서 전극에 이물질이 부착될 수 있어 전극 및 이를 포함하는 전지의 품질이 감소되는 바, 압연 롤의 오염을 제거하기 위한 압연 롤 세정 장치가 사용되고 있다.
도 1은 압연 공정에 사용되는 종래의 압연 롤 세정 장치에 관하여 나타낸다. 한 쌍의 압연 롤(10) 사이로 집전체(2) 위에 전극 합제층(3)이 도포된 전극 기재(1)가 지나간다. 전극 합제층(3)은 전극 활물질, 도전재, 및 바인더를 포함한다.
종래의 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치(20)에서는, 전극 제조를 위하여 압연 롤(10)이 구동하는 중에, 세정액(21)을 노즐(22)을 통하여 세정포(23) 상에 분사하고 세정포(23)는 세정 롤러(24)를 지나면서, 세정액이 분사된 세정포(23)로 압연 롤(10)을 닦는 방식이 사용되었다.
이 때, 압연 롤(10)이 구동하면서 전극(1)을 제조하는 공정 중에 압연 롤을 세정하는 경우에는, 전극(1) 내 잔류 수분량 유지를 위하여 세정액(21)의 종류와 사용량에 제한이 있고, 오일 성분의 유계 세정액을 주로 사용한다.
한편, 종래 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치(20)를 사용하는 경우, 유계 세정액 사용 특성 상, 압연 롤(10)의 비가동 시간이 발생하게 되며. 수계 용매를 사용하는 전극 압연시 클리닝이 잘 되지 않을 뿐 아니라, 세정포(23)에 기 분사되었던 세정액(21)이 휘발/건조되면서, 압연 롤(10)의 세정이 제대로 이루어지지 않는 경우가 발생하는 경우가 있어 다양한 문제가 있었다.
이에, 세정액으로서 물을 사용하는 방향으로의 연구도 있으나, 이 경우, 전극의 두께, 및 수분 증가, 활물질 탈리 등의 문제가 발생하여 한계가 있었다.
본 발명은 전극 압연 롤의 세정 시에 세정액으로서 증류수를 사용하면서도 종래 발생한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 공급 방식이 개선된 세정 장치를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
그러나, 본 발명의 실시예들이 해결하고자 하는 과제는 상술한 과제에 한정되지 않고 본 발명에 포함된 기술적 사상의 범위에서 다양하게 확장될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전극 압연 롤을 세정하는 장치는,
상기 전극 압연 롤의 표면과 세정포가 접촉 가능하게 마련되는 세정 부재,
상기 세정포에 세정액을 분사하는 분사 노즐,
상기 세정액의 분사량을 조절하는 제어부, 및
상기 세정액의 분사량을 모니터링하는 모니터링부를 포함하고,
상기 세정액은 증류수이며,
상기 제어부는 분사 노즐에 의해 1회 분사되는 세정액의 양을 0.05ml 내지 0.2ml의 범위가 되도록 조절하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 전극 압연 롤은 상기 전극을 기준으로 하여 상부에 위치하는 상부 압연 롤과 하부에 위치하는 하부 압연 롤을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 전극 압연 롤은 하드 크롬 압연 롤, 또는 DLC(diamond like carbon) 압연 롤일 수 있다.
상기 세정포는 부직포일 수 있다.
상기 세정 부재는 상기 전극 압연 롤의 폭 방향을 기준으로 20 내지 60%로 세정포를 접촉시키는 것일 수 있다.
상기 세정 부재는 상기 전극 압연 롤에 세정포를 부착시 부착 압력이 1.7kg/cm 내지 2.0kg/cm일 수 있다.
상기 분사 노즐은 스프레이 타입의 일류체 노즐일 수 있다.
상기 제어부는 상기 분사 노즐에 의해 1회 분사되는 세정액의 양을 0.05ml 내지 0.1ml의 범위가 되도록 조절하는 것일 수 있다.
상기 제어부는 유량계를 포함하며, 상기 분사 노즐에 의해 분사되는 세정액의 양이 0.05ml 미만이면 그 양을 늘리도록 명령하고, 세정액의 양이 0.2ml를 초과하면 그 양을 줄이도록 명령하는 것일 수 있다.
상기 모니터링부는 분사 노즐에 의해 분사되는 세정액의 양을 모니터링하여 상기 제어부에 정보를 전달하는 것일 수 있다.
상기 세정포를 공급하는 세정포 공급부; 및 상기 세정포를 회수하는 세정포 회수부를 추가로 포함할 수 있다.

이하, 첨부한 도면을 참고로 하여 본 발명의 여러 실시예들에 대하여 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자가 용이하게 실시할 수 있도록 상세히 설명한다. 본 발명은 여러 가지 상이한 형태로 구현될 수 있으며 여기에서 설명하는 실시예들에 한정되지 않는다.
본 발명을 명확하게 설명하기 위해서 설명과 관계없는 부분은 생략하였으며, 명세서 전체를 통하여 동일 또는 유사한 구성요소에 대해서는 동일한 참조 부호를 붙이도록 한다.
또한, 도면에서 나타난 각 구성의 크기 및 두께는 설명의 편의를 위해 임의로 나타내었으므로, 본 발명이 반드시 도시된 바에 한정되지 않는다. 도면에서 여러 층 및 영역을 명확하게 표현하기 위하여 두께를 확대하여 나타내었다. 그리고 도면에서, 설명의 편의를 위해, 일부 층 및 영역의 두께를 과장되게 나타내었다.
또한, 층, 막, 영역, 판 등의 부분이 다른 부분 "위에" 또는 “상에” 있다고 할 때, 이는 다른 부분 "바로 위에" 있는 경우뿐 아니라 그 중간에 또 다른 부분이 있는 경우도 포함한다. 반대로 어떤 부분이 다른 부분 "바로 위에" 있다고 할 때에는 중간에 다른 부분이 없는 것을 뜻한다. 또한, 기준이 되는 부분 "위에" 또는 “상에” 있다고 하는 것은 기준이 되는 부분의 위 또는 아래에 위치하는 것이고, 반드시 중력 반대 방향을 향하여 “위에” 또는 “상에” 위치하는 것을 의미하는 것은 아니다.

이하에서는, 본 발명의 실시예에 대해 도면을 참조하여 설명한다.
도 2는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치의 개략도가 도시되어 있고, 도 3에는 상기 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치의 다른 방향에서의 개략도가 도시되어 있다.
도 2 및 도 3을 함께 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 압연 롤 세정 장치(100)는 크게 세정 부재(110), 세정포(120), 및 세정포(120)에 세정액(160)을 분사하는 분사 노즐(130)를 포함한다.
세정 부재(110)는 전극(20)의 압연 후에 전극 압연 롤(10)의 표면에 부착된 이물질을 가장 먼저 제거해야 하므로, 전극 압연 롤(10)이 전극을 압연하는 지점에서 전극 압연 롤(10)의 회전 방향을 기준으로 가장 가까운 곳에 위치한다.
여기서, 전극 압연 롤(10)은 전극(20)을 기준으로 하여 상부에 위치하는 상부 압연 롤(11)과 하부에 위치하는 하부 압연 롤(12)을 포함한다.
이때, 전극(20)이 집전체의 일면에만 전극층을 형성하는 경우라면 전극층이 형성되는 부위에서 세정 장치(100)가 위치하고 작동할 수 있고, 양측에 전극층을 형성하는 경우라면, 세정 장치(100)는 상부 압연 롤(11)과 하부 압연 롤(12)을 모두 세정할 수 있도록 양측에 모두 형성되어 작동할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 세정 장치(100)가 적용될 수 있는 전극 압연 롤(10)의 종류에는 제한이 없으며, 예를 들어 하드 크롬 압연 롤, 또는 DLC(diamond like corbon) 압연 롤일 수 있다.
세정 부재(110)는 예를 들어 세정 롤(롤러) 형상일 수 있고, 예를 들어 압연 롤(10)의 회전 방향과 반대 방향으로 회전하는 것일 수 있다. 세정 부재(110)와 압연 롤(10)과의 접촉 부분이 라운드 처리된 경우, 세정포(120)와 압연 롤(10)과의 접촉 시, 세정포(120)에 의해 압연 롤(10)이 손상을 입는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
또한, 세정 부재(110)는 전극 압연 롤(10)의 폭 방향을 이동이 가능한 형태의 세정 롤일 수 있다. 따라서, 전극 압연 롤(10)과 세정포(120)가 접촉하는 길이(ls)가 전극 압연 롤(10)의 폭 방향을 기준으로 전폭 길이(l)의 20 내지 60%, 상세하게는 20 내지 40%로 형성할 수 있다.
이에 따라, 세정 부재(110)는 전극 압연 롤(10)에 대해 전체적으로 균일한 부착을 수행할 수 있다.
기존 세정 장치에서는 세정 부재가 전극 압연 롤의 전폭 방향으로 전체적으로 부착되었는 바, 특히 그 폭 길이가 길수록 폭 방향으로의 부착 압력이 불균일하고 부착 압력도 저하되어, 세정이 잘 이루어지지 않는 문제가 있었다.
그러나, 본 발명에 따르면, 세정 부재(110)가 전극 압연 롤(10)의 폭 방향을 기준으로 일부에만 형성되도록 그 폭을 줄이고, 폭 방향으로 이동 가능하도록 형성하여, 세정 부재(110)가 전극 압연 롤(10)에 부착되는 압력이 폭 방향에서 균일할 수 있으며, 부착 압력 또한 향상시킬 수 있다.
따라서, 본 발명에 따르면 세정 부재(110)가 전극 압연 롤(10)에 세정포(120)를 부착시킬 때, 부착 압력이 1.7kg/cm 내지 2.0kg/cm일 수 있고, 상세하게는 1.8kg/cm 내지 2.0kg/cm, 더욱 상세하게는 1.9kg/cm 내지 2.0kg/cm일 수 있으며, 세정 효과가 향상될 수 있다.
더 나아가, 본 발명은 도시된 바에 한정되지 않고, 세정 부재(110)에 세정포(120)가 공급되어 전극 압연 롤(10)의 표면을 세정할 수 있는 구조 및 형상이면 충분하고, 본 발명이 적용되는 환경에 맞게 다양하게 변형, 변경 가능하다. 또한, 세정 부재(110)는 도 3의 개략도에서 도시된 바와 같이 폭 방향으로의 이동이 가능한 한 개로 구비될 수도 있지만, 전극 압연 롤(10)의 원주 방향으로 2개 이상으로 구비되어, 전극 압연 롤(10)의 폭 방향으로의 세정이 모두 이루어질 수 있도록, 폭 방향으로의 위치를 달리하며 형성되어 있을 수도 있고, 세정 부재(110)의 개수에는 특별한 제한이 없다.
한편, 본 발명의 실시예들에 따르면, 세정포(120)는 세정포 공급부(140)에서 공급되어 세정 부재(110)으로 이송된다. 예를 들어 세정포 공급부(140)는 시트 형태의 긴 세정포(120)가 롤 형태로 감긴 것일 수 있고, 세정포 공급부(140)에서 권출된 세정포(120)가 세정 부재(110)으로 이송될 수 있다. 세정 부재(110)는 전극 압연 롤(10)의 표면에 인접해 있어 세정포(120)의 일면을 전극 압연 롤(10)에 접촉시킬 수 있다. 즉, 세정포(120)는 전극 압연 롤(10)과 세정 부재(110)의 사이를 지나가면서 전극 압연 롤(10)에 접촉하여 전극 압연 롤(10)을 세정한다.
세정 부재(110)를 지난 세정포(120)는 세정포 회수부(150)에서 회수된다. 예를 들어 세정포 회수부(150)는 세정포(120)를 롤 형태로 권취하는 것일 수 있다. 다시 말하면, 세정포 공급부(140) 및 세정포 회수부(150) 각각은 예를 들어, 실린더 형상의 바(bar) 또는 보빈 형태로 제작되어 세정포(120)를 권출 및 권취하는 것일 수 있다. 세정 부재(110)는 세정포(120)의 이동 방향에 따라 동시에 회전할 수 있으며, 세정포 공급부(140) 및 세정포 회수부(150)도 마찬가지로 회전할 수 있다.
세정포(120)는 전극 압연 롤(10)에 부착된 이물질을 원활하게 흡수 또는 제거할 수 있고, 전극 압연 롤(10)의 표면에 손상을 주지 않으면 그 종류에 제한은 없고, 예를 들어 부직포를 사용할 수 있다. 또한 부직포의 소재는 이물질을 흡수 또는 제거할 수 있으면 그 종류에 제한은 없으며, 면섬유, 폴리에틸렌섬유, 폴리프로필렌섬유, 폴리에스터, 아라미드 섬유, 셀룰로오스 섬유, 레이온 섬유 또는 이를 혼합한 부직포 등이 사용될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 압연 롤 세정 장치(100)는 분사 노즐(130)을 통해 세정포(120)를 향해 세정액(160)을 분사할 수 있다.
여기서, 분사 노즐(130)은 세정포(120)의 진행 방향을 기준으로 세정 부재(110)의 전단에 배치될 수 있고, 추가적으로 세정 부재(110)가 복수 개로 구비된 경우 각각의 세정 부재(110) 사이에 배치될 수도 있다.
분사 노즐(130)은 예를 들어 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이 세정액(160)을 스프레이 방식으로 세정포(120)에 분사하는 타입일 수 있다. 이때, 분사 노즐(130)은, 예를 들어 일류체 노즐 및/또는 이류체 노즐을 포함할 수 있다. 세정액 공급부(130)에 일류체 노즐을 채용하는 경우, 이류체 노즐인 경우에 비하여 세정액(160)의 비산을 보다 효과적으로 방지할 수 있다.
분사 노즐(130)은 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이, 세정포(120)가 압연 롤(10)을 향하는 면(세정포(120)가 압연 롤(10)에 접촉하게 되는 면)의 반대쪽 면에 세정액(160)을 공급(분사)할 수 있다. 이러한 경우, 세정액(160)이 공급된 세정포(120)가 압연 롤(10)에 접촉할 때, 세정액(160)이 전극(1)으로 누액 등으로 떨어지는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 또한, 분사 노즐(130)은 도 2에 자세히 도시하지는 않았지만, 세정액 저장 탱크, 세정액 이송 배관, 펌프, 밸브 등과 연결될 수 있다.
또한, 분사 노즐(130)은 복수 개로 구비될 수도 있다.
도 2에서는 분사 노즐(130)이 세정포(120)의 후면에 배치되어 세정포(120)에 세정액(160)을 공급하는 경우를 도시하고 있다. 그러나, 본 발명은 이에 한정되지 않고, 분사 노즐(130)이 세정포(120)의 전면이나 전후면 양측에 각각에 배치되어 있을 수도 있다. 즉, 세정포(120)로 전극 압연 롤(10)을 세정할 수 있을 정도로 세정액(160)이 공급될 수 있는 것이면 충분하고, 다양한 변형, 변경이 가능하다. 여기서, 세정포(120)의 전면은 전극 압연 롤(10)에 접촉하는 면을 의미하고, 세정포(120)의 후면은 전극 압연 롤(10)에 접촉하는 면의 반대쪽의 면을 의미한다.
이때, 세정액(160)은 증류수일 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면, 기존에 사용되던 세정액으로서의 오일은 음극 전극이 용매로서 물을 사용하는 것을 고려할 때, 오염이 충분히 세정되지 못할 뿐 아니라, 휘발 등의 시간이 소요되므로, 세정 시간도 증가하는 문제가 있었다.
이에, 음극 전극의 용매와 동일하게 증류수를 세정액(160)으로서 사용함으로써 상기 오일을 사용할 때의 문제를 해소하고, 오염 제거를 용이하게 할 뿐 아니라 비용, 시간적으로도 효율적이다.
다만, 본 발명에서와 같이 세정액(160)으로서 증류수를 사용하는 경우에는 세정액(160)의 분사량이 매우 중요하다.
분사량이 너무 많은 경우에는 전극(20)의 두께 및 수분 함유량 증가, 활물질 탈리 등의 문제가 발생할 수 있고, 반대로 분사량이 너무 적은 경우에는 전극 압연 롤(10) 표면 오염이 충분히 세정되지 않기 때문이다.
따라서, 본 발명에 따르면, 분사 노즐(130)에 의해 1회에 분사되는 세정액(160)의 양은 약 0.05ml 내지 0.2ml일 수 있고, 상세하게는 0.05ml 내지 0.1ml일 수 있으며, 더욱 상세하게는, 0.05ml 내지 0.07ml일 수 있다.
이러한 분사되는 세정액(160)의 양은 세정액(160)의 분사량을 모니터링하는 모닝터링부(170)와, 모니터링부(170)에서 정보를 전달받아 세정액(160)의 분사량을 조절하는 제어부(180)에 의해 수행된다.
구체적으로, 본 발명에 따른 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치(100)는 모니터링부(170)을 추가로 포함한다. 모니터링부(170)는 하나의 예에서 분사 노즐(130)의 전단에 설치되는 유량 센서로서, 실시간 변화하는 유속으로 분사되는 세정액(160)의 유량을 측정할 수 있으며, 이로부터 얻어지는 정보를 제어부(180)에 전달한다.
이때, 분사량의 측정은 상기 모니터링부에서 측정되며 세정액(160)의 분사 방향에 대해 상승/하강 방향으로 초음파를 발신하는 전파 시차 방식을 통해 비접촉 방식으로 측정될수 있다.
제어부(180)는 모니터링부(170)로부터 이러한 정보를 전달받아 분사 노즐(130)에 의해 분사되는 세정액(160)의 양이 0.05ml 미만이면 그 양을 늘리도록 명령하고, 세정액의 양이 0.2ml를 초과하면 그 양을 줄이도록 명령할 수 있다.
이때, 제어부(180)는 유량계(181)를 포함할 수 있으며, 유량계(181)는 별도의 세정액(160)을 분사 노즐(130)로 공급하는 세정액 저장 탱크로부터 분사 노즐(130)로 공급되는 세정액(160)의 유량을 정밀 제어할 수 있도록 유량을 계측할 수 있다.
그 밖에 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치(100)은 전극 압연 롤(10)의 표면의 명도 값을 측정하여 오염 정도를 파악하는 검사부, 세정액(160)에 의해 세정된 전극 압연 롤(10)의 표면을 가열 및/또는 송풍으로 건조시키는 건조부 등을 더 포함할 수 있음은 물론이다.
이하에서는, 본 발명의 이해를 돕기 위해 일 실시예들이 개시되며, 구체적으로, 본 발명에 따른 세정 장치를 사용하고 세정액으로서 증류수를 사용한 경우에 전극 압연 롤의 종류에 관계없이 우수한 세정성을 가짐을 실험예를 통해 설명한다. 다만, 하기 실시예들은 본 발명을 예시하기 위한 것으로 본 발명의 범위가 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
<실험예 1>
종래 세정 장치(압연롤 전폭 부착 타입, 플랫 노즐)와 본 발명에 따른 세정 장치(압연롤 소폭 부착 타입, 스프레이 일류체 노즐)을 사용하여 전극 압연 롤에서의 부착 압력, 부착 균일성, 세정액 분사량을 측정하였고, 그 결과를 하기 표 1 및 도 4와 도 5에 도시하였다. 이때, 세정액으로는 증류수(DI water)를 사용하였다.
이때, 부착 압력은 전극 압연 롤에 대한 세정 장치의 세정 부재를 부착시키는데 사용되는 실린더에 가해지는 공압을 압연롤에 부착되는 힘(압력x실린더 내경의 단면적)으로 환산하여, 단위길이(압연롤에 접촉하는 길이)로 나눈 값이고,
세정액 분사량은 분사 노즐의 전단에 설치된 유량 센서로 측정되었으며, 세정액(160)의 분사 방향에 대해 상승/하강 방향으로 초음파를 발신하는 전파 시차 방식을 통해 측정하였다.
이때, 측정은 온도가 섭씨 -10도 내지 60도로 결빙이 없고, 습도가 RH 35% 내지 85%의 범위에서 수행된다.
상기 유량 센서의 내진동은 10~55Hz, 복진폭 1.5mm, x/y/z 각방향 2시간이며, 내충격은 50G, 11ms 내 x/y/z 각방향 3회이다.

상기 표 1 및 도 4, 5를 참조하면, 종래 세정 장치에 비해, 본 발명에 따른 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치의 경우, 압연 롤과 세정포의 부착 면적이 작아 부착 균일성이 향상되고, 부착 압력 역시 향상도는 것을 확인할 수 있다.또한, 세정액 분사량이 약 1/10로 감소한 것을 확인할 수 있다.
<비교예 1>
종래 세정 장치(압연롤 전폭 부착 타입, 플랫 노즐, 1회 분사량: 0.6ml)를 사용하고 세정액으로서 오일을 사용하였다. 전극 압연 롤은 HCr(하드 크롬 압연 롤)을 사용하였다.
<비교예 2>
본 발명에 따른 세정 장치(압연롤 소폭 부착 타입, 스프레이 일류체 노즐, 1회 분사량: 0.06ml)를 사용하되 세정액으로서 오일을 사용하였다. 전극 압연 롤은 HCr(하드 크롬 압연 롤)을 사용하였다.
<비교예 3>
종래 세정 장치(압연롤 전폭 부착 타입, 플랫 노즐, 1회 분사량: 0.6ml)를 사용하고 세정액으로서 오일을 사용하였다. 전극 압연 롤은 DLC(diamond like carbon 압연 롤)을 사용하였다.
<비교예 4>
본 발명에 따른 세정 장치(압연롤 소폭 부착 타입, 스프레이 일류체 노즐, 1회 분사량: 0.06ml)를 사용하되 세정액으로서 오일을 사용하였다. 전극 압연 롤은 DLC(diamond like carbon 압연 롤)을 사용하였다.
<실시예 1>
본 발명에 따른 세정 장치(압연롤 소폭 부착 타입, 스프레이 일류체 노즐, 1회 분사량: 0.06ml)를 사용하되 세정액으로서 증류슈(DI water)을 사용하였다. 전극 압연 롤은 HCr(하드 크롬 압연 롤)을 사용하였다.
<실시예 2>
본 발명에 따른 세정 장치(압연롤 소폭 부착 타입, 스프레이 일류체 노즐, 1회 분사량: 0.06ml)를 사용하되 세정액으로서 증류슈(DI water)을 사용하였다. 전극 압연 롤은 DLC(diamond like carbon 압연 롤)을 사용하였다.
<실시예 3>
실시예 1에서 1회 분사량을 0.08ml로 조절한 것을 제외하고는 동일하게 준비하였다.
<비교예 5>
실시예 1에서 1회 분사량을 0.03ml로 조절한 것을 제외하고는 동일하게 준비하였다.
<비교예 6>
실시예 1에서 1회 분사량을 0.25ml로 조절한 것을 제외하고는 동일하게 준비하였다.
<실험예 2>
상기 전극 압연 롤의 세정 전, 후 색차값을 비교하여 세정 효과를 확인하였고, 그 결과를 하기 표 2에 나타내었다.
여기서, 색차값은 색도 색차계를 사용하여 L*: 인지적인 명도(검정/흰색)을 측정하였으며, HCr 압연 롤의 경우, 색차값이 높을수록 깨끗한 상태이고, DLC 압연 롤의 경우, 색차값이 낮을수록 깨끗한 상태이다.

상기 표 2를 참조하면, 전극 압연 롤 종류에 관계없이, 우수한 세정 효과를얻기 위해서는 본 발명에 따른 세정 장치를 사용하면서 세정액으로서 증류수를 사용하는 경우이다. 다만, 증류수의 분사량이 너무 적은 경우에는 세정 효과가 떨어짐을 비교예 5에 의해 알 수 있다.
<실험예 3>
실시예 1 및 비교예 6에 따른 상기 전극 압연 롤의 세정 후에 상기 전극 압연 롤에 의해 압연되는 전극의 두께를 측정하였고, 그 결과를 하기 도 6 및 도 7에 도시하였다.
상기 두께는 공초점 센서를 이용한 두께 측정 장비를 사용하였고, 공초점 센서로 두께를 측정하는 방법은 상부/하부에 각 한 개의 변위센서가 있고, 각각의 센서는 서로 마주보고 초점을 고유하며, 초점을 공유한 두 센서를 기존 두께를 알고 있는 기준 필름(공초점 센서의 눈금 용도)에 대해 측정하여 각 센서에서부터 상기 기준 필름까지의 거리를 계산한 다음 전극 폭 방향으로 센서를 움직이면서 두께를 측정하였다.
상기 전극으로는 음극 활물질로서 인조흑연을 사용하고, 음극 활물질, 도전재로서(CNT), 바인더로서 스티렌-부타디엔 고무(SBR), 첨가제로서 카르복시메틸 셀룰로오스(CMC)를 98 : 0.5 : 1 : 0.5 중량비로 물 중에서 혼합하여 음극 슬러리를 제조하고, 8 ㎛ 두께의 Cu 호일에 약 185㎛ 두께로 도포한 후 130℃에서 건조한 후, 압연하여, 음극을 제조하여 사용하였다.
실시예 1의 경우, 두께가 처음 음극 제조시와 크게 차이가 나지 않으나, 비교예 6의 경우, 더 많은 분사량으로 세정을 수행하여 세정은 잘이루어졌으나, 건조되지 않은 증류수가 전극 수분 함유량에 영향을 미쳐 전극 표면 불량과 두께 변화를 나타내는 것을 알 수 있다.
이상에서 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 대하여 상세하게 설명하였지만 본 발명의 권리범위는 이에 한정되는 것은 아니고 다음의 청구범위에서 정의하고 있는 본 발명의 기본 개념을 이용한 당업자의 여러 변형 및 개량 형태 또한 본 발명의 권리범위에 속하는 것이다.

본 발명에 따르면, 전극 압연 롤의 세정 시에 세정액으로서 증류수를 사용하는 바, 전극의 용매로서 물을 사용하는 경우, 상기 전극 압연 롤의 클리닝이 용이하다.
또한, 스프레이 타입의 일류체 노즐을 사용하고, 상기 세정액으로서 증류수의 분사량을 매우 적게 조절함으로써, 기존에 세정액으로서 증류수를 사용함에 따라 나타날 수 있는 전극의 두께 및 수분 함유량 증가, 활물질 탈리 등의 문제를 해소할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
본 발명의 효과들은 이상에서 언급한 효과들로 제한되지 않으며, 언급되지 않은 또 다른 효과들은 청구범위의 기재로부터 당업자에게 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다.

Claims (11)

  1. 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치로서,
    상기 전극 압연 롤의 표면과 세정포가 접촉 가능하게 마련되는 세정 부재,
    상기 세정포에 세정액을 분사하는 분사 노즐,
    상기 세정액의 분사량을 조절하는 제어부, 및
    상기 세정액의 분사량을 모니터링하는 모니터링부를 포함하고,
    상기 세정액은 증류수이며,
    상기 제어부는 분사 노즐에 의해 1회 분사되는 세정액의 양을 0.05ml 내지 0.2ml의 범위가 되도록 조절하는 것인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 전극 압연 롤은 상기 전극을 기준으로 하여 상부에 위치하는 상부 압연 롤과 하부에 위치하는 하부 압연 롤을 포함하는 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 전극 압연 롤은 하드 크롬 압연 롤, 또는 DLC(diamond like carbon) 압연 롤인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 세정포는 부직포인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 세정 부재는 상기 전극 압연 롤의 폭 방향을 기준으로 전폭 길이의 20 내지 60%로 세정포를 접촉시키는 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 세정 부재는 상기 전극 압연 롤에 세정포를 부착시 부착 압력이 1.7kg/cm 내지 2.0kg/cm인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  7. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 분사 노즐은 스프레이 타입의 일류체 노즐인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  8. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는 상기 분사 노즐에 의해 분사되는 세정액의 양을 0.05ml 내지 0.1ml의 범위가 되도록 조절하는 것인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  9. 제11항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는 유량계를 포함하며, 상기 분사 노즐에 의해 분사되는 세정액의 양이 0.05ml 미만이면 그 양을 늘리도록 명령하고, 세정액의 양이 0.2ml를 초과하면 그 양을 줄이도록 명령하는 세정액 분사량을 조절하는 것인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  10. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 모니터링부는 분사 노즐에 의해 분사되는 세정액의 양을 모니터링하여 상기 제어부에 정보를 전달하는 것인 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
  11. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 세정포를 공급하는 세정포 공급부; 및
    상기 세정포를 회수하는 세정포 회수부를 추가로 포함하는, 전극 압연 롤 세정 장치.
