Definitions
- the present invention relates to cars and elevators.
- elevators have used mechanical governors and encoders to detect the distance and speed traveled by the car.
- Mechanical governors and encoders require the placement of long objects such as governor ropes within the hoistway. This requires space to place long objects within the hoistway, preventing the hoistway from being made more compact.
- elevators have been devised that capture images of the surface of the guide rails and use these images to detect the distance and speed traveled by the car.
- Some elevator cars are equipped with guide shoes that slidably engage with the guide rails and oilers that apply lubricating oil to the guide rails.
- the guide shoes and oilers are located at the corners of the elevator car. For this reason, a detector such as that described in Patent Document 1 would get in the way of oiler inspection and oil refilling operations.
- the objective is to provide a car and elevator that can detect speed from the surface condition of the guide rail, and that makes it easy to inspect and replenish oil in the oiler.
- a car embodying one aspect of the present invention comprises a car body, a guide shoe, an oiler, an imaging unit, and a calculation unit.
- the guide shoe, oiler, and imaging unit are attached to the car body.
- the guide shoe slidably engages with a guide rail arranged in an elevator shaft.
- the oiler applies lubricating oil to the guide rail.
- the imaging unit images the surface of the guide rail.
- the calculation unit calculates the speed of the car based on the image captured by the imaging unit.
- the imaging unit is installed below the oiler.
- an elevator embodying one aspect of the present invention includes the above-described car that moves up and down within the elevator shaft, and a guide rail that is disposed in the elevator shaft and guides the car as it moves up and down.

- a weight-side pulley 131 is attached to the top of the counterweight 130.
- a rope 170 is wound around the weight-side pulley 131.
- the hoisting machine 120 is located at the top of the hoistway 100. This prevents the hoisting machine 120 from becoming submerged even if the pit of the hoistway 100 becomes flooded. As a result, the elevator can continue to operate even if the pit of the hoistway 100 becomes flooded. A rope 170 is wound around the hoisting machine 120.
- the hoist 120 is a device that winds up the rope 170 to raise and lower the car 110.
- the hoist 120 raises and lowers the car 110 and counterweight 130 in a bucket-like manner via the rope 170.
- the direction in which the car 110 and counterweight 130 move up and down will be referred to as the up and down direction.
- the operation of the hoist 120 is controlled by a control unit provided in a control panel (not shown).
- the control panel (not shown) is located, for example, at the top of the elevator shaft 100.
- a pair of guide rails 150 are fixed to the wall surface of the hoistway 100.

- the visor portion 13b prevents the lubricating oil from splashing when it hits the upper surface of the installation base 21b and adhering to the light incident surface of the imaging unit 14.
- the speed detection device 10 (imaging unit 14) is positioned between the oiler 9 and the upper guide shoe 8A in the vertical direction.
- the upper guide shoe 8A is closer to the car body 2 than the oiler 9 and the speed detection device 10. This reduces the distance between the portion that contacts the guide rail 150 (upper guide shoe 8A) and the car body 2.

照明部に使用する光源は、例えば、LED(Light Emitting Diode)やレーザーダイオードを採用できる。
撮像素子は、結像した光を電気信号に変換することができればよく、例えば、CCD(Charge Coupled Device)素子やCMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)素子などを採用できる。
