Definitions
- the present invention relates to a yarn where textile wastes are used as raw material and obtained by means of modified ring spinning system and that have improved resistance and nappiness characteristics.
- Textile consumption is taken into account in two categories, namely, textile consumption created by industry and by consumers. Textile wastes created by the industry before the consumer comprises fiber, yarn, fabric and cloth production processes. The waste amount that occurs before reaching of a cloth to a user is named as “pre-consumer” and the waste amount that occurs after usage by the consumer is named as “post-consumer”. In recovering of cotton textile wastes as fiber again as pre-consumer and post-consumer, the proportion of short fiber percent increases and the fiber is seriously damaged. This condition leads to decrease of resistance values of the fiber when compared with the first form of the fiber. Therefore, recycled fibers are evaluated by being mixed with zone cottons at specific proportions by using rotor and conventional ring spinning methods in yarn production.
- Ring yarns have always been taken as a quality measure when compared with other spinning systems like rotor and air jet.
- ring yarns do not have a completely perfect structure.
- the traditional technology that exists in ring yarn machine have not yet reduced the spinning triangle defined as the weakest point and the most problematic place and that exists in ring-hook system in yarn formation. Therefore, for providing smoothening of the yarn structure and for reducing yarn breakages, pneumatic and mechanical compact systems have been developed.
- the present invention relates to a yarn where textile wastes are used as raw material and that has improved resistance and nappiness characteristics.
- the main object of the present invention is to provide a yarn obtained by using 100% cotton textile wastes as warp yarn in weaving processes.
- Another object of the present invention is to be able to use yarn in the direction of weft in weaving processes.
- An object of the present invention relates to development of yarn that can be used in round, straight and warp knitting processes from 100% cotton textile wastes.

- 100% cotton textile wastes exist in obtaining yarn.
- textile waste is used at a value between 1% and 99% in obtaining yarn, and yarns which are not waste and which have other weight proportions are used as raw material.
- said yarn has yarn fineness at a value between 7/1 and 36/1 Ne.
- yarn is used as warp yarn in weaving processes.

- yarn is used as weft yarn in weaving processes.
- yarn is used as raw material in knitting processes.
- Figure 1 the view of a ring spinning system comprising mechanical compact component and used for obtaining a yarn where textile wastes are used as raw material and obtained by means of the modified ring spinning system and where resistance and nappiness characteristics have been improved is given.
- the subject matter relates to a yarn where textile wastes are used as raw material and obtained by means of modified ring spinning system and which has improved resistance and nappiness characteristics.
- the subject matter essentially describes that the yarns obtained from 100% cotton textile wastes have high resistance values and have improved nappiness values.
- Said yarns are preferably obtained by using ring spinning systems. Ring yarns have always been taken as a quality measure with respect to other spinning systems like rotor and air jet. However, ring yarns do not have a completely perfect structure. The traditional technology that exists in ring yarn machine have not reduced the spinning triangle defined as the weakest point and the most problematic place and that exists in ring-hook system. In order to eliminate said technical disadvantages, the present invention owners suggest that the ring spinning system is modified. The solution brought by the present invention owners is the usage of mechanical compact elements positioned around the spinning triangle in ring spinning system.
- the ring spinning system mentioned in the invention thins down the ribs coming from the rib machine by means of drawing, and obtains yarn with suitable number and resistance, and wraps this yarn onto rollers.
- the rib taken from the rib machine is thinned down by drawing in ring yarn machines and bending is realized to this fiber bunch that is brought to the sufficient thinness, and resistance is provided.
- the yarn formed in this manner is wrapped onto rollers and brought into kops form.
- modified ring spinning system comprises items which provide elimination or minimization of the spinning triangle by being positioned at the parts described as spinning triangle in ring spinning system (in other words, the device where ring spinning processes are realized).
- said modified item is mechanical compact component.
- the ring spinning system including the subject matter mechanical compact component is given as Figure 1. Accordingly, the mechanical compact component comprises three parts. Said three parts are named as the lower, middle and front parts as from the upper part towards the lower part of the device.
- the spinning triangle affects both yarn breakages and yarn structure. Thanks to densifying of fibers, yarn can be drawn without the spinning triangle at the output of the drawing system, and by means of this, the fibers can be bonded to each other in a tighter and parallel manner. This has unfavorable effects on fly, nappiness and resistance for the yarn structure of the spinning triangle. As a result of the researches, it has been detected that as the spinning triangle is eliminated or minimized, favorable improvements will occur in some physical yarn characteristics, and by means of the prevention of spinning triangle, even the fibers that exist at the outer part of the yarn are tensioning less and said fibers are included to the yarn structure, and by means of this, resistance is increasing and nappiness value is decreasing.
- Figure 1 the representative view of a ring spinning system modified for obtaining yarn from 100% textile wastes is given.
- the recycled cotton wastes have much bigger short fiber percent when compared with standard cotton after said process.
- the cotton fiber coming at 29-31 mm is at a value between 15-24 mm at recycled cottons.
- Said technical disadvantage leads to irregularity particularly in ring yarn production and prevents yarn formation due to breakage. Therefore, the recycled cotton fibers are essentially combined with virgin cottons (20% recycled cotton- 80% virgin cotton) and are taken to yarn production.
- yarn cannot be produced from 100% cotton-based textile wastes.
- the innovative characteristic of the present invention is that textile wastes can be made usable as raw material in obtaining yarns which have high resistance values and nappiness characteristics in the subject matter modified ring spinning systems.
- textile wastes are used as the contributing component for reducing costs in obtaining yarns.
- the resistance values of yarns which include textile wastes as raw material are low, and they can be used for obtaining yarns which have some fineness values.
- the present invention owners have detected that 100% textile wastes can be used as raw material thanks to the modified ring spinning systems realized by them. It has been detected that the yarns obtained while providing this have resistance values such that said yarns can be used as warp yarn even in weaving processes.
- cotton wastes which are output as waste in yarn and confection enterprises, are described as 100% cotton textile waste.
- the synthetic or natural yarns which are similar to cotton textile wastes and which can be brought into yarn form in ring spinning systems, can also be used as raw material for the invention.
- the technical solution desired to be provided to the related technical field is to obtain a yarn which has resistance values that are high such that it can be used as warp yarn in weaving processes and where nappiness which is the technical problem of yarns obtained from textile wastes is improved.
- the primary object of the present invention is to use 100% textile wastes in obtaining ring yarn, in the preferred application, the yarn can also be obtained by mixing textile wastes with other yarns at specific weight proportions.
- natural yarn or fiber wastes is/are used as the textile waste.
- cotton yarn or fiber wastes is/are used as the textile waste.
- yarn can be obtained which has high resistance and nappiness values by using modified ring spinning system.
- said yarn can be obtained as 100% cotton yarn by being obtained from 100% cotton wastes.
- fineness of the obtained yarn changes at a value between 7/1 Ne and 36/1 Ne.
- the obtained yarn can be used in warp yarn in weaving.
- the yarn obtained from textile wastes can be integrated again to production in a manner where high added value is provided to yarn.
- the obtained yarn can be used in knitting processes.
- the yarn obtained from textile wastes can be integrated again to production in a manner where high added value is provided to yarn.
