Abstract
M50相当合金の焼入れ後の最大結晶粒度を小さくして結晶粒度のばらつきを抑制することが可能な合金鋼を提供する。 質量%でC:0.70-0.95%、Si:0.05-0.35%、Mn:0.05-0.45%、Cr:3.90-4.35%、(Mo+W/2)の関係式によるMoおよびWのうちの1種または2種:3.90-4.60%、V:0.80-1.20%、残部:Fe及び不可避的不純物でなり、さらにAlとNが、下記条件(1)および条件(2)を満たすように含まれる、合金鋼。ここで条件(1)は質量%でAl:0.02%以上、またはN:0.005%以上であり、条件(2)は7.5<-ln([Al]%×[N]%)<11.5である。
Description
本発明は、合金鋼に関するものである。
AMS6491で規定される合金は、M50と呼ばれ、その組成は、質量%でC(炭素)が0.80~0.85%、Mn(マンガン)が0.15~0.35%、Cr(クロム)が4.00~4.25%、Mo(モリブデン)が4.00~4.50%、V(バナジウム)が0.90~1.10%を含有し、残部がFe(鉄)および不純物からなる鋼である。このM50は、焼入れ焼戻しされ、軸受鋼として、例えば、航空機のエンジン部品として用いられる。
例えば特許文献1には、重量比にして、C:0.60~1.50%、Si:0.15~1.00%、Mn:0.15~0.50%、Cr:3.0~19.0%、Mo:0.50~6.50%、V:0.05~1.50%、Al:0.020~1.50%、残部Fe及び不可避的不純物から成る鋼を、500~600℃の温度で窒化を行なうことを特徴とする軸受用鋼の製造方法が記載されている。この特許文献1には、結晶粒微細化にVの添加が有効であることや、焼入れ温度を1200℃以下にすることが有効である旨も開示されている。
上述したようなM50製品の機械的特性を低下させる要因の一つとして、結晶粒の粗大化が挙げられる。特に平均結晶粒度が小さくても、結晶粒が部分的に粗大化して粗大粒と微細粒とが混在した混粒組織となっている場合、粗大粒部を起因とした亀裂の発生が懸念されるため、最大結晶粒度も併せて小さくすることが重要である。このような最大結晶粒度を小さくすることについて上述した特許文献では検討されていない。
よって本発明の目的は、M50相当合金の焼入れ後の最大結晶粒度を小さくして結晶粒度のばらつきを抑制することが可能な合金鋼を提供することである。

本発明は、上述した課題に鑑みてなされたものである。
即ち本発明は、質量%でC:0.70~0.95%、Si:0.05~0.35%、Mn:0.05~0.45%、Cr:3.90~4.35%、(Mo+W/2)の関係式によるMoおよびWのうちの1種または2種:3.90~4.60%、V:0.80~1.20%、残部:Fe及び不可避的不純物でなり、さらにAlとNが、下記条件(1)および条件(2)を満たすように含まれる、合金鋼である。ここで、条件(1)は質量%でAl:0.02%以上、またはN:0.005%以上であり、条件(2)は7.5<-ln([Al]%×[N]%)<11.5である。
好ましくは、ASTM-E930に準拠した最大結晶粒度番号が6.0以上である。
好ましくは、ASTM-E112に準拠した平均結晶粒度番号が8.0以上である。

本発明によれば、M50相当合金の焼入れ後の最大結晶粒度を小さくして結晶粒度のばらつきを抑制することが可能となる。
先ず、本発明で規定する合金鋼(M50相当合金)の組成限定理由について述べる。
C:0.70~0.95質量%(以下、単に「%」とも表記)、
Cは硬さを向上させるのに有効な元素であり、最低0.70%を必要とするが、0.95%を超えるCの添加は靭性を低下させてしまうため、Cは0.70%~0.95%とする。好ましくは0.80%以上である。また、好ましくは0.85%以下である。
C:0.70~0.95質量%(以下、単に「%」とも表記)、
Cは硬さを向上させるのに有効な元素であり、最低0.70%を必要とするが、0.95%を超えるCの添加は靭性を低下させてしまうため、Cは0.70%~0.95%とする。好ましくは0.80%以上である。また、好ましくは0.85%以下である。
Si:0.05~0.35%、
Siは製鋼時に脱酸剤として使用され、被削性を高めるために有効な元素である。Siが0.05%未満では、材料の延性が高すぎ、冷間での切削加工性を阻害してしまう。一方0.35%を超えるSiの添加は靭性を低下させてしまうため、Siは0.05%~0.35%とする。好ましくは0.10%以上である。また、好ましくは0.25%以下である。
Siは製鋼時に脱酸剤として使用され、被削性を高めるために有効な元素である。Siが0.05%未満では、材料の延性が高すぎ、冷間での切削加工性を阻害してしまう。一方0.35%を超えるSiの添加は靭性を低下させてしまうため、Siは0.05%~0.35%とする。好ましくは0.10%以上である。また、好ましくは0.25%以下である。
Mn:0.05~0.45%、
Mnは製鋼時に脱酸剤や脱硫剤として使用され、焼入性を向上させるのに有効な元素であり、最低0.05%を必要とする。一方、Mnが0.45%を超えると、硬度が上昇しすぎてしまい、加工性を悪くするといった問題が発生するため、Mnは0.05%~0.45%とする。好ましくは0.15%以上である。また、好ましくは0.35%以下である。
Mnは製鋼時に脱酸剤や脱硫剤として使用され、焼入性を向上させるのに有効な元素であり、最低0.05%を必要とする。一方、Mnが0.45%を超えると、硬度が上昇しすぎてしまい、加工性を悪くするといった問題が発生するため、Mnは0.05%~0.45%とする。好ましくは0.15%以上である。また、好ましくは0.35%以下である。
Cr:3.90~4.35%、
Crは後述するするMoと同様、焼入性の向上、及び高温での焼戻し軟化抵抗を向上させる効果があるため最低3.90%の添加が必要である。一方、Crが4.35%を超えると、炭化物の析出が促進され、製造上での硬さの制御が困難となる。したがって、Crは3.90%~4.35%とする。好ましくは4.00%以上である。また、好ましくは4.25%以下である。
Crは後述するするMoと同様、焼入性の向上、及び高温での焼戻し軟化抵抗を向上させる効果があるため最低3.90%の添加が必要である。一方、Crが4.35%を超えると、炭化物の析出が促進され、製造上での硬さの制御が困難となる。したがって、Crは3.90%~4.35%とする。好ましくは4.00%以上である。また、好ましくは4.25%以下である。
(Mo+W/2)の関係式によるMoおよびWのうちの1種または2種:3.90~4.60%、
MoおよびWは同様の効果があり、原子量の関係から(Mo+W/2)で規定する。焼入性の向上と高温での焼戻し軟化抵抗を向上させる効果があるため最低3.90%の添加が必要である。一方、4.60%を超えると、炭化物の析出が促進され、製造上での硬さの制御が困難となる。したがって、(Mo+W/2)は3.90%~4.60%とする。好ましくは4.00%以上である。また、好ましくは4.50%以下である。
なお、M50相当合金の成分組成に倣えば、Wの含有量の全てをMoのそれに替えることができる。このとき、Mo:3.90~4.60%となる。そして、好ましくは4.00%以上である。また、好ましくは4.50%以下である。そして、Wは不純物として含まれ得て、例えば、M50相当合金の成分組成に倣えば、0.25%以下のWを含むことができる。
MoおよびWは同様の効果があり、原子量の関係から(Mo+W/2)で規定する。焼入性の向上と高温での焼戻し軟化抵抗を向上させる効果があるため最低3.90%の添加が必要である。一方、4.60%を超えると、炭化物の析出が促進され、製造上での硬さの制御が困難となる。したがって、(Mo+W/2)は3.90%~4.60%とする。好ましくは4.00%以上である。また、好ましくは4.50%以下である。
なお、M50相当合金の成分組成に倣えば、Wの含有量の全てをMoのそれに替えることができる。このとき、Mo:3.90~4.60%となる。そして、好ましくは4.00%以上である。また、好ましくは4.50%以下である。そして、Wは不純物として含まれ得て、例えば、M50相当合金の成分組成に倣えば、0.25%以下のWを含むことができる。
V:0.80~1.20%、
Vは焼戻し軟化抵抗を向上させる効果と結晶粒を細かくする効果がある。Vが0.80%未満では、MC炭化物の析出が少なく、結晶粒が粗大化する。一方、Vが1.20%を超えると、炭化物の析出が促進され、製造上での硬さの制御が困難となる。したがって、Vは0.80%~1.20%とする。好ましくは0.90%以上である。また、好ましくは1.10%以下である。
Vは焼戻し軟化抵抗を向上させる効果と結晶粒を細かくする効果がある。Vが0.80%未満では、MC炭化物の析出が少なく、結晶粒が粗大化する。一方、Vが1.20%を超えると、炭化物の析出が促進され、製造上での硬さの制御が困難となる。したがって、Vは0.80%~1.20%とする。好ましくは0.90%以上である。また、好ましくは1.10%以下である。
本発明の合金鋼では、さらにAlとNが、下記条件(1)および条件(2)を満たすように含まれることが特徴である。ここで条件(1)は、質量%でAl:0.02%以上、またはN:0.005%以上であり、条件(2)は、7.5<-ln([Al]%×[N]%)<11.5である。Alは脱酸剤として使用され、Nは不純物として残留し得る元素である。AlおよびNは母相中に固溶状態で存在させることで、Alは結晶粒微細化に有効なMC炭化物析出時の核として作用し、Nは炭化物に固溶してMC炭化物量を増加させることでMC炭化物を微細・均一に分散させる効果がある。したがって、本発明の合金鋼はAlが0.02%以上、またはNが0.005%以上含有する。ここで本発明鋼においてAlが0.02%以上かつNが0.005%以上でも良い。
そして、本発明では、上記のAlまたはNの固溶による効果を得るために、AlおよびNの含有量(質量%)の積で示される「溶解度積」を調整することが効果的である。つまり、-ln([Al]%×[N]%)が7.5未満となると多量のAlNが生成し、MC炭化物の析出サイトを部分的に埋めてしまう。そして、このAlNの生成部位で固溶していたAl量またはN量も減少するため、焼入れ時に残存するMC炭化物分布が不均一となり結晶粒の粗大化が生じてしまう。一方、-ln([Al]%×[N]%)が11.5を超過すると、AlNの生成は抑制できるものの、AlおよびNの固溶量も少ないため、上記のAlまたはNの固溶による効果が顕在化しない。したがって、7.5<-ln([Al]%×[N]%)<11.5とする。好ましい-ln([Al]%×[N]%) の下限は8.0であり、より好ましくは8.5であり、さらに好ましくは9.0である。また好ましい-ln([Al]%×[N]%)の上限は11.0であり、より好ましくは10.5であり、さらに好ましくは10.0である。
以上、説明する各元素の他は、Feと不可避的不純物である。不可避的不純物としてはP、S、Ni、Co、Cu、Oが挙げられ、例えば、M50相当合金の成分組成に倣えば、それぞれの上限は質量%で、P≦0.015%、S≦0.008%、Ni≦0.15%、Co≦0.25%、Cu≦0.10%、O≦0.0030%と設定することができる。
上述した合金成分範囲を有する本発明の合金鋼は、最大結晶粒径が小さく(最大結晶粒度番号が大きく、)結晶粒度のばらつきが小さいため、良好な機械的特性を安定して得ることが期待できる。好ましい本発明の最大結晶粒度番号(ASTM-E930に準拠)は、6.0以上である。また好ましい本発明の平均結晶粒度番号(ASTM-E112に準拠)は、8.0以上である。より好ましい平均結晶粒度番号の下限は8.5であり、さらに好ましい平均結晶粒度番号の下限は9.0である。これらの結晶粒度番号は、焼入れ後または焼入れ―焼戻し後の状態で測定することができる。これは焼入れ後と焼入れ―焼戻し後とで結晶粒径が実質的に変動しないためである。
表1の成分組成を有する、M50相当合金の10kgの鋼塊を溶製し本発明例であるNo.1~5の鋼、および比較例であるNo.6~8の鋼塊を得た。その後、熱間加工を行って、30mm角棒状の実験用素材を得た。
焼入れ後の結晶粒サイズを確認するため、上記で得た本発明例および比較例の実験用素材に焼なまし処理を実施後、試験片を採取した。試験片の採取箇所について、30mm角断面のW/4―T/4(W:幅方向の長さ、T:厚み方向の長さ)位置、長さ方向はL/2(L:長さ方向の長さ)位置とした。その後、各素材に1115℃にて焼入れ処理を実施し、ASTM規格(平均結晶粒度はASTM―E112―13(2021)、最大結晶粒度はASTM―E930―18)に従って光学顕微鏡により結晶粒度を測定した結果を表2に示す。なお、No.6は混粒で平均結晶粒度が測定できなかったため結晶粒度の分布割合を示す。表1より、質量%でAl:0.020%以上、またはN:0.005%以上であり、かつ7.5<-ln([Al]%×[N]%)<11.5を満たす本発明例は、平均結晶粒度については比較例である試料No.7、No.8と同水準であるが、最大結晶粒度が結晶粒度No.で6.0以上と比較例よりも微細化しており、結晶粒度のばらつきが小さいことが確認できた。
No.2、No.3、No.6、No.8について、光学顕微鏡写真も図1に示す。観察位置は、焼入れ後の試験片縦断面(長さ方向に対して平行に半割したT―L断面)とした。なお図1の上段の観察倍率は200倍、下段の観察倍率は500倍である。本発明の条件(1)および条件(2)を満たす本発明例(No.2、No.3)では結晶粒サイズが全体的に微細であり、ばらつきが小さく、比較例(No.6、No.8)では微細粒の中に50μmを超えるような粗大粒が確認でき、結晶粒度のばらつきが大きいことが図1より確認できた。以上の結果より、本発明で規定するAl、N量に制御することにより、M50相当合金の焼入れ後の結晶粒度のばらつきを抑制することが可能である。そして、この焼入れ後のM50相当合金に焼戻しを行うことで、機械的特性の低下が抑制されたM50相当合金製品を提供することができる。

- 質量%でC:0.70~0.95%、
Si:0.05~0.35%、
Mn:0.05~0.45%、
Cr:3.90~4.35%、
(Mo+W/2)の関係式によるMoおよびWのうちの1種または2種:3.90~4.60%、
V:0.80~1.20%、
残部:Fe及び不可避的不純物でなり、
さらにAlとNが、下記条件(1)および条件(2)を満たすように含まれる、合金鋼。
条件(1)質量%でAl:0.02%以上、またはN:0.005%以上
条件(2)7.5<-ln([Al]%×[N]%)<11.5 - ASTM-E930に準拠した最大結晶粒度番号が6.0以上である、請求項1に記載の合金鋼。
- ASTM-E112に準拠した平均結晶粒度番号が8.0以上である、請求項2に記載の合金鋼。
