Abstract
発光材料とそれを用いた高発光効率、長寿命な有機EL素子を提供する。 対向する陽極と陰極の間に、発光層を含む有機EL素子において、少なくとも1つの発光層に発光性ドーパントとして特定の構造を有する骨格とホウ素原子を組み合わせた化合物を含有するものであり、上記化合物は下記一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される。
Description
本発明は、発光材料と、それを発光層に用いた有機電界発光素子(有機EL素子という)に関するものである。
有機EL素子に電圧を印加することで、陽極から正孔が、陰極からは電子がそれぞれ発光層に注入される。そして発光層において、注入された正孔と電子が再結合し、励起子が生成される。この際、電子スピンの統計則により、一重項励起子及び三重項励起子が1:3の割合で生成する。一重項励起子による発光を用いる蛍光発光型の有機EL素子は、内部量子効率は25%が限界であるといわれている。一方で三重項励起子による発光を用いる燐光発光型の有機EL素子は、一重項励起子から項間交差が効率的に行われた場合には、内部量子効率が100%まで高められることが知られている。
近年では、燐光型有機EL素子の長寿命化技術が進展し、携帯電話等のディスプレイへ応用されつつある。しかしながら、青色の有機EL素子に関しては、実用的な燐光発光型の有機EL素子は開発されておらず、高効率であり、且つ長寿命な青色有機EL素子の開発が求められている。
さらに最近では、遅延蛍光を利用した高効率の遅延蛍光型の有機EL素子の開発がなされている。例えば特許文献1には、遅延蛍光のメカニズムの1つであるTTF(Triplet-Triplet Fusion)機構を利用した有機EL素子が開示されている。TTF機構は2つの三重項励起子の衝突によって一重項励起子が生成する現象を利用するものであり、理論上内部量子効率を40%まで高められると考えられている。しかしながら、燐光発光型の有機EL素子と比較すると効率が低いため、更なる効率の改良が求められている。
一方で特許文献2では、熱活性化遅延蛍光(TADF;Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence)機構を利用した有機EL素子が開示されている。TADF機構は一重項準位と三重項準位のエネルギー差が小さい材料において三重項励起子から一重項励起子への逆項間交差が生じる現象を利用するものであり、理論上内部量子効率を100%まで高められると考えられている。具体的に、特許文献2では、インドロカルバゾール化合物からなる熱活性化遅延蛍光材料を開示している。
また、特許文献3、特許文献4、そして特許文献5では、ホウ素原子を含む多環芳香族化合物からなる発光材料とそれを用いた有機EL素子が開示されている。
有機EL素子をフラットパネルディスプレイ等の表示素子や光源として応用するためには、素子の発光効率を改善すると同時に駆動時の安定性を十分に確保する必要がある。本発明は、このような現状を鑑みてなされたものであり、高効率で発光し、且つ高い駆動安定性を有して実用上有用な有機EL素子を得ることができる発光材料、及びこれを用いた有機EL素子を提供することを目的とする。
本発明は、下記一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表されることを特徴とする発光材料に関するものであり、また、本発明は、対向する陽極と陰極の間に1つ以上の発光層を含む有機EL素子において、少なくとも1つの発光層が、前記の発光材料を含有することを特徴とする有機電界発光素子に関するものである。
ここで、C環、D環、E環、H環、及びI環は、それぞれ独立に、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環、又は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環であり、
F環、G環、及びJ環は、それぞれ独立に置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。
F環、G環、及びJ環は、それぞれ独立に置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。
上記一般式(1)、及び(2)中の水素原子は重水素原子に置換されてもよく、X1はそれぞれ独立にN-R1、O、又はSであり、R1は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。
R2はそれぞれ独立に炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。a、b、c、l、m、及びnは置換数を表し、a、c及びmはそれぞれ独立に0~4の整数を表し、nは0~3の整数を表し、b、及びlはそれぞれ独立に0~1の整数を表す。なお、本明細書において、芳香族炭化水素環と芳香族炭化水素環基との両方の表記を行っているが、これらに実質的な違いはない。芳香族複素環と芳香族複素環基とについても同様である。
一般式(1)中のC環とD環、及び、E環とF環は、それぞれ直接結合又は連結基により互いに環を形成してもよい。また、一般式(2)中のH環とG環、及びI環とJ環は、それぞれ直接結合又は連結基により互いに環を形成してもよい。
ここで、X1、R2、a、c、m、n、b、及びlは前記一般式(1)又は(2)に記載の内容と同義である。R3はそれぞれ独立に炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、又は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基である。d、e、f、g、h、i、j及びkは置換数を表し、g、i、jはそれぞれ独立に0~5の整数を表し、d、e、f、h、及びkはそれぞれ独立に0~4の整数を表す。
また、本発明は、対向する陽極と陰極の間に、1つ以上の発光層を含む有機電界発光素子において、少なくとも1つの発光層が上述した発光材料を含有するものである。
本発明の有機電界発光素子において、上記発光材料を含有する少なくとも1つの発光層が、下記一般式(5)で表される化合物から選ばれる第一ホスト、及び下記一般式(6)で表される化合物から選ばれる第二ホストを含有することを含有することが好ましい。
ここで、Ar1は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。R4はそれぞれ独立に、炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、又は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基を表す。o、p、q、及びrは置換数を表し、q及びrそれぞれ独立に0~4の整数を表し、o及びpはそれぞれ独立に0~3の整数を表す。sは繰り返し数で1~4の整数を表し、tは置換数を表し1又は2の整数を表す。一般式(5)中の水素原子は重水素原子に置換されてもよい。tが2の場合、一般式(5)は対称でも非対称でもよい。
ここで、X2はそれぞれ独立してN又はC-R5を表すが、少なくとも1つのX2はNを表す。Ar2、Ar3、及びAr4はそれぞれ独立して置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。R5はそれぞれ独立に水素、重水素、炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、又は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基を表す。一般式(6)中の水素原子は重水素原子に置換してもよい。
本発明の有機電界発光素子において、上述した一般式(1)又は(2)で表される発光材料は、発光スペクトルを測定して求められる励起一重項エネルギー(S1)と燐光スペクトルを測定して求められる励起三重項エネルギー(T1)との差(ΔEST、すなわち実測値ΔEST)が0.20eV以下であることが好ましい。
本発明の有機電界発光素子において、一般式(1)又は(2)で表される発光材料をドーパントとして0.1~10wt%含有し、かつ、上述した一般式(5)で表される第一ホスト、及び一般式(6)で表される第二ホストを合計で99.9~90wt%含有する発光層を備えることが好ましい。
本発明の発光材料によれば、高効率で発光し、且つ高い駆動安定性を有して実用上有用な有機EL素子を得ることができる。
本発明の有機EL素子は、対向する陽極と陰極の間に、1つ以上の発光層を有し、発光層の少なくとも1層が、一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料を含有する。好ましくは、有機EL素子は、対向する陽極と陰極の間に、1つ以上の発光層を有し、発光層の少なくとも1層が、一般式(3)若しくは一般式(4)で表される発光材料を含有する。また一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)のうち、一般式(2)で表される発光材料が好ましく、一般式(3)若しくは一般式(4)のうち、一般式(4)で表される発光材料が好ましい。この有機EL素子は、対向する陽極と陰極の間に複数の層を有するが、複数の層の少なくとも1層は発光層であり、発光層には必要により一般式(5)で表される化合物から選ばれる第一ホスト、及び一般式(6)で表される化合物から選ばれる第二ホストを含有する。
上記の一般式(1)、一般式(2)、一般式(3)、及び一般式(4)について以下で説明する。

一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)のF環、G環、及びJ環はそれぞれ独立に置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。好ましくは置換若しくは未置換のベンゼン環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。より好ましくは置換若しくは未置換のベンゼン環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~12の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。

一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)のa、b、c、l、m、及びnは置換数を表し、a、c及びmはそれぞれ独立に0~4の整数を表し、nは0~3の整数を表し、b、lは0~1の整数を表す。好ましくはa、c及びmは独立に0~1の整数を表し、nは0~1の整数を表し、b、lはそれぞれ独立に0~1の整数を表す。
一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)において、C環とD環、E環とF環、H環とG環、及びI環とJ環は、それぞれ直接結合又は連結基により互いに環を形成してもよい。
ここで、連結基としては、エーテル基(-O-)、スルフィド基(-S-)、メチレン基(-C(R21)2-)、又はシリル基(-Si(R21)2-)が好ましい。ここでR21は、独立に水素、炭素数1~8の脂肪族炭化水素基、又はベンゼン環を表し、脂肪族炭化水素基の具体例としてはメチル基、エチル基、nープロピル基、イソプロピル基、nーブチル基、イソブチル基、sーブチル基、tーブチル基、nーペンチル基、イソペンチル基、tーペンチル基、nーヘキシル基を表す。

一般式(3)若しくは一般式(4)のa、b、c、l、m、n、d、e、f、g、h、i、j及びkは置換数を表し、g、i、jはそれぞれ独立に0~5の整数を表し、a、c、d、e、f、h、k、mはそれぞれ独立に0~4の整数を表し、nは0~3の整数を表し、b、lはそれぞれ独立に0~1の整数を表す。好ましくは、g、i、jはそれぞれ独立に0~1の整数を表しa、c、d、e、f、h、k、mはそれぞれ独立に0~1の整数を表し、nは0~1の整数を表し、b、lはそれぞれ独立に0~1の整数を表す。
また、上述した一般式(1)又は(2)で表される発光材料は、励起一重項エネルギー(S1)と励起三重項エネルギー(T1)との差(ΔEST)が0.20eV以下であることが好ましい。S1とT1との差が小さければ、逆交換交差を生じやすく、三重項励起子を効率的に発光に利用することができるため、高い発光効率が期待できる。
ここで、このエネルギー差ΔEST(=S1-T1)は、実施例にて後述するように、一般式(1)又は(2)で表される発光材料をドーパントとして含んだ膜を形成して、発光スペクトルを測定して求められる励起一重項エネルギー(S1)と、燐光スペクトルを測定して求められる励起三重項エネルギー(T1)との差からΔEST(すなわち実測値ΔEST)を求めるようにしてもよく、或いは、同じく実施例にて後述するように、Gaussian16のような汎用的な分子軌道法プログラムを用いて、密度半関数理論(DFT)により、TDA-PBE0/6-31G*レベルで構造最適化計算を行って、S1(theo)及びT1(theo)を算出して、これらの差からΔEST(すなわち理論値ΔEST)を求めるようにしてもよい。このような理論値は、厳密には実測値と一致しないが、複数の発光材料を相対的に評価する上では有用である。実測値ΔESTの好ましい値としては0.20eV以下であるのがよく、より好ましくは0.15eV以下であるのがよい。また、理論値ΔESTの好ましい値としては0.55eV未満、より好ましくは0.45eV未満であるのがよい。
一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料の具体的な例を以下に示すが、これら例示化合物に限定されるものではない。
一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料を発光層に含有させることで、高効率で発光し、且つ高い駆動安定性を有して実用上優れた有機EL素子とすることができる。好ましくは、一般式(3)若しくは一般式(4)で表される発光材料を発光層に含有させることで、高効率で発光し、且つ高い駆動安定性を有して実用上優れた有機EL素子とすることができる。
また発光層には必要により発光材料と共に一般式(5)で表される化合物から選ばれる第一ホスト、及び一般式(6)で表される化合物から選ばれる第二ホストを含有させることにより、より優れた有機EL素子となる。
一般式(5)について説明する。
一般式(5)のAr1は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。好ましくは置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~12の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~12の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。より好ましくは、置換若しくは未置換のフェニル基、ビフェニル基、又はターフェニル基である。ビフェニル基及びターフェニル基の場合、オルト連結、メタ連結、パラ連結のいずれであってもよいが、メタ連結またはパラ連結を含むことが好ましい。

一般式(5)における、R4はそれぞれ独立に炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、又は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基を表す。好ましくは炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~12の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~12の芳香族複素環基を表す。

なお、一般式(5)は少なくとも2つ以上のカルバゾールを含み、この時3,9-位若しくは4,9-位で連結したカルバゾールを含むことが好ましい。

一般式(6)のX2はそれぞれ独立してN又はC-R5を表すが、少なくとも1つのX2はNを表す。好ましくは3つのX2はNを表す。
一般式(6)のR5は、それぞれ独立に水素、重水素、炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、又は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基を表す。好ましくは、水素、重水素、炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~12の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~12の芳香族複素環基を表す。具体例は水素、及び重水素含む以外はR4で述べたとおりである。好ましくは、水素、重水素、メチル基、tーブチル基、ベンゼン、ナフタレン、ジベンゾフラン、ジベンゾチオフェン、ジベンゾセレノフェン、カルバゾールが挙げられる。

また、Ar2、Ar3、又はAr4の少なくとも一つが、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~3個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基であることが好ましい。
また、Ar2、Ar3、又はAr4の少なくとも一つが、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~18の芳香族炭化水素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~3個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基であることが好ましい。
一般式(6)中の水素原子は重水素原子に置換してもよい。
一般式(6)で表される発光材料の具体的な例を以下に示すが、これら例示化合物に限定されるものではない。
本明細書において、芳香族炭化水素環基、芳香族複素環基又は連結芳香族基は、それぞれ置換基を有してもよい。置換基を有する場合の置換基は、シアノ基、炭素数1~10の脂肪族炭化水素基、炭素数12~30のジアリールアミノ基、炭素数1~10のアルコキシ基、炭素数6~18のアリールオキシ基、炭素数1~10のアルキルチオ基、炭素数6~18のアリールチオ基である。なお、置換基の数は0~5、好ましくは0~2がよい。芳香族炭化水素環基及び芳香族複素環基が置換基を有する場合の炭素数の計算には、置換基の炭素数を含まない。しかし、置換基の炭素数を含んだ合計の炭素数が上記範囲を満足することが好ましい。ただし、C環、D環、E環、H環、及びI環の置換基はR3の定義に従う。

本明細書において、連結芳香族基は、芳香族炭化水素環基又は芳香族複素環基の芳香族環が単結合で連結した基を言い、これらは直鎖状に連結してもよく、分岐状に連結してもよい。また、連結する芳香族環は互いに同一であってもよく、異なっていてもよい。連結芳香族基に該当する場合は、置換基を有する芳香族炭化水素環基又は置換基を有する芳香族複素環基とは異なる。
次に、本発明の有機EL素子の構造について、図面を参照しながら説明するが、本発明の有機EL素子の構造はこれに限定されない。
図1は、本発明に用いられる一般的な有機EL素子の構造例を示す断面図であり、1は基板、2は陽極、3は正孔注入層、4は正孔輸送層、5は発光層、6は電子輸送層、7は陰極を表す。本発明の有機EL素子は発光層と隣接して励起子阻止層を有してもよく、また発光層と正孔注入層との間に電子阻止層を有してもよい。励起子阻止層は発光層の陰極側、陽極側のいずれにも挿入することができ、両方同時に挿入することも可能である。本発明の有機EL素子では、陽極、発光層、そして陰極を必須の層として有するが、必須の層以外に正孔注入輸送層、電子注入輸送層を有することがよく、更に発光層と電子注入輸送層の間に正孔阻止層を有することがよい。なお、正孔注入輸送層は、正孔注入層と正孔輸送層のいずれか、または両者を意味し、電子注入輸送層は、電子注入層と電子輸送層のいずれかまたは両者を意味する。
図1とは逆の構造、すなわち基板1上に陰極7、電子輸送層6、発光層5、正孔輸送層4、正孔注入層3、陽極2の順に積層することも可能であり、この場合も必要により層を追加、省略することが可能である。なお、上述したような有機EL素子において、陽極や陰極のような電極以外に基板上で積層構造を構成する層をまとめて有機層という場合がある。
-基板-
本発明の有機EL素子は、基板に支持されていることが好ましい。この基板については特に制限はなく、従来から有機EL素子に用いられているものであればよく、例えばガラス、透明プラスチック、石英等からなるものを用いることができる。

-陽極-
有機EL素子における陽極材料としては、仕事関数の大きい(4eV以上)金属、合金、電気伝導性化合物又はこれらの混合物からなる材料が好ましく用いられる。このような電極材料の具体例としてはAu等の金属、CuI、インジウムチンオキシド(ITO)、SnO2、ZnO等の導電性透明材料が挙げられる。また、IDIXO(In2O3-ZnO)等の非晶質で、透明導電膜を作製可能な材料を用いてもよい。陽極はこれらの電極材料を蒸着やスパッタリング等の方法により薄膜を形成させ、フォトリソグラフィー法で所望の形状のパターンを形成してもよく、あるいはパターン精度をあまり必要としない場合(100μm以上程度)は、上記電極材料の蒸着やスパッタリング時に所望の形状のマスクを介してパターンを形成してもよい。あるいは有機導電性化合物のような塗布可能な物質を用いる場合には印刷方式、コーティング方式等湿式成膜法を用いることもできる。この陽極より発光を取り出す場合には、透過率を10%より大きくすることが望ましく、また、陽極としてのシート抵抗は数百Ω/□以下が好ましい。膜厚は材料にもよるが、通常10~1000nm、好ましくは10~200nmの範囲で選ばれる。
有機EL素子における陽極材料としては、仕事関数の大きい(4eV以上)金属、合金、電気伝導性化合物又はこれらの混合物からなる材料が好ましく用いられる。このような電極材料の具体例としてはAu等の金属、CuI、インジウムチンオキシド(ITO)、SnO2、ZnO等の導電性透明材料が挙げられる。また、IDIXO(In2O3-ZnO)等の非晶質で、透明導電膜を作製可能な材料を用いてもよい。陽極はこれらの電極材料を蒸着やスパッタリング等の方法により薄膜を形成させ、フォトリソグラフィー法で所望の形状のパターンを形成してもよく、あるいはパターン精度をあまり必要としない場合(100μm以上程度)は、上記電極材料の蒸着やスパッタリング時に所望の形状のマスクを介してパターンを形成してもよい。あるいは有機導電性化合物のような塗布可能な物質を用いる場合には印刷方式、コーティング方式等湿式成膜法を用いることもできる。この陽極より発光を取り出す場合には、透過率を10%より大きくすることが望ましく、また、陽極としてのシート抵抗は数百Ω/□以下が好ましい。膜厚は材料にもよるが、通常10~1000nm、好ましくは10~200nmの範囲で選ばれる。

一方、陰極材料としては仕事関数の小さい(4eV以下)金属(電子注入性金属と称する)、合金、電気伝導性化合物又はこれらの混合物からなる材料が用いられる。このような電極材料の具体例としては、ナトリウム、ナトリウム-カリウム合金、マグネシウム、リチウム、マグネシウム/銅混合物、マグネシウム/銀混合物、マグネシウム/アルミニウム混合物、マグネシウム/インジウム混合物、アルミニウム/酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)混合物、インジウム、リチウム/アルミニウム混合物、希土類金属等が挙げられる。これらの中で、電子注入性及び酸化等に対する耐久性の点から、電子注入性金属とこれより仕事関数の値が大きく安定な金属である第二金属との混合物、例えばマグネシウム/銀混合物、マグネシウム/アルミニウム混合物、マグネシウム/インジウム混合物、アルミニウム/酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)混合物、リチウム/アルミニウム混合物、アルミニウム等が好適である。陰極はこれらの陰極材料を蒸着やスパッタリング等の方法により薄膜を形成させることにより、作製することができる。また、陰極としてシート抵抗は数百Ω/□以下が好ましく、膜厚は通常10nm~5μm、好ましくは50~200nmの範囲で選ばれる。なお、発光した光を透過させるため、有機EL素子の陽極又は陰極のいずれか一方が透明又は半透明であれば発光輝度は向上し、好都合である。
一方、陰極材料としては仕事関数の小さい(4eV以下)金属(電子注入性金属と称する)、合金、電気伝導性化合物又はこれらの混合物からなる材料が用いられる。このような電極材料の具体例としては、ナトリウム、ナトリウム-カリウム合金、マグネシウム、リチウム、マグネシウム/銅混合物、マグネシウム/銀混合物、マグネシウム/アルミニウム混合物、マグネシウム/インジウム混合物、アルミニウム/酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)混合物、インジウム、リチウム/アルミニウム混合物、希土類金属等が挙げられる。これらの中で、電子注入性及び酸化等に対する耐久性の点から、電子注入性金属とこれより仕事関数の値が大きく安定な金属である第二金属との混合物、例えばマグネシウム/銀混合物、マグネシウム/アルミニウム混合物、マグネシウム/インジウム混合物、アルミニウム/酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)混合物、リチウム/アルミニウム混合物、アルミニウム等が好適である。陰極はこれらの陰極材料を蒸着やスパッタリング等の方法により薄膜を形成させることにより、作製することができる。また、陰極としてシート抵抗は数百Ω/□以下が好ましく、膜厚は通常10nm~5μm、好ましくは50~200nmの範囲で選ばれる。なお、発光した光を透過させるため、有機EL素子の陽極又は陰極のいずれか一方が透明又は半透明であれば発光輝度は向上し、好都合である。
また、陰極に上記金属を1~20nmの膜厚で形成した後に、陽極の説明で挙げた導電性透明材料をその上に形成することで、透明又は半透明の陰極を作製することができ、これを応用することで陽極と陰極の両方が透過性を有する素子を作製することができる。
-発光層-
発光層は陽極及び陰極のそれぞれから注入された正孔及び電子が再結合することにより励起子が生成した後、発光する層である。発光層には、一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される発光材料を単独で使用してもよいし、この発光材料をホスト材料と共に使用してもよい。発光材料をホスト材料と共に使用する場合、発光材料は発光性ドーパントとなる。
また、一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される発光材料を、一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表されるもの以外の蛍光発光材料と共に使用してもよい。蛍光発光材料と共に使用する場合は、更にホスト材料と共に使用してもよい。一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される発光材料を蛍光発光材料と共に使用する場合は、蛍光発光材料が発光性ドーパントとなる。
発光層は陽極及び陰極のそれぞれから注入された正孔及び電子が再結合することにより励起子が生成した後、発光する層である。発光層には、一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される発光材料を単独で使用してもよいし、この発光材料をホスト材料と共に使用してもよい。発光材料をホスト材料と共に使用する場合、発光材料は発光性ドーパントとなる。
また、一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される発光材料を、一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表されるもの以外の蛍光発光材料と共に使用してもよい。蛍光発光材料と共に使用する場合は、更にホスト材料と共に使用してもよい。一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される発光材料を蛍光発光材料と共に使用する場合は、蛍光発光材料が発光性ドーパントとなる。
一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される発光材料を発光層における発光性ドーパントとして含む場合、発光性ドーパントの含有量は、0.1~10wt%であるのがよく、好ましくは0.1~5wt%であるのがよい。また、その際、ホスト材料として、前述の一般式(5)の化合物から選ばれる第一ホストと前述の一般式(6)の化合物から選ばれる第二ホストとを含む場合、発光層におけるその含有量は合計で99.9~90wt%であるのがよく、好ましくは99.9~95wt%であるのがよい。
発光層におけるホスト材料としては、上記で示したホスト材料以外に、燐光発光素子や蛍光発光素子で使用される公知のホスト材料を使用することができる。使用できる公知のホスト材料としては、正孔輸送能、電子輸送能を有し、かつ高いガラス転移温度を有する化合物であり、一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料の三重項励起エネルギー(T1)よりも大きい三重項励起エネルギー(T1)を有していることが好ましい。また、ホスト材料にTADF活性な化合物を用いてもよく、その場合、発光スペクトルを測定して求められる一重項励起エネルギー(S1)と燐光スペクトルを測定して求められる三重項励起エネルギー(T1)との差(ΔEST=S1-T1、すなわち実測値ΔEST)が0.20eV以下の化合物が好ましい。
ここで、実測値ΔESTを求めるにあたり、S1、T1は次のようにして測定される。
石英基板上に真空蒸着法にて、真空度10-4Pa以下の条件にて試料化合物(熱活性化遅延蛍光材料)を蒸着し、蒸着膜を100nmの厚さで形成する。S1は、この蒸着膜の発光スペクトルを測定し、発光スペクトルの短波長側の立ち上がりに対して接線を引き、その接線と横軸の交点の波長値λedge[nm]を次に示す式(i)に代入してS1を算出する。

一方のT1は、前記蒸着膜の燐光スペクトルを測定し、この燐光スペクトルの短波長側の立ち上がりに対して接線を引き、その接線と横軸の交点の波長値λedge[nm]を式(ii)に代入してT1を算出する。

このようなホスト材料は、多数の特許文献等により知られているので、それらから選択することができる。ホスト材料の具体例としては、特に限定されるものではないが、インドール化合物、カルバゾール化合物、インドロカルバゾール化合物、ピリジン化合物、ピリミジン化合物、トリアジン化合物、トリアゾール化合物、オキサゾール化合物、オキサジアゾール化合物、イミダゾール化合物、フェニレンジアミン化合物、アリールアミン化合物、アントラセン化合物、フルオレノン化合物、スチルベン化合物、トリフェニレン化合物、カルボラン化合物、ポルフィリン化合物、フタロシアニン化合物、8-キノリノール化合物の金属錯体やメタルフタロシアニン、ベンゾオキサゾールやベンゾチアゾール化合物の金属錯体に代表される各種金属錯体、ポリ(N-ビニルカルバゾール)化合物、アニリン系共重合化合物、チオフェンオリゴマー、ポリチオフェン化合物、ポリフェニレン化合物、ポリフェニレンビニレン化合物、ポリフルオレン化合物等の高分子化合物等が挙げられる。好ましくは、カルバゾール化合物、インドロカルバゾール化合物、ピリジン化合物、ピリミジン化合物、トリアジン化合物、アントラセン化合物、トリフェニレン化合物、カルボラン化合物、ポルフィリン化合物が挙げられる。
1つの発光層中のホストは1種類のみでよいし、2種類以上のホストを使用してもよい。2種類以上のホストを使用する場合は、一般式(5)及び一般式(6)で表される材料を使用することが好ましい。ホストを複数種使用する場合は、それぞれのホストを異なる蒸着源から蒸着するか、蒸着前に予備混合して予備混合物とすることで1つの蒸着源から複数種のホストを同時に蒸着することもできる。また1種もしくは複数種のホストと1種もしくは複数種の発光材料を予備混合したものを予備混合物とすることで1つの蒸着源からホストと発光材料を同時に蒸着することもできる。
予備混合の方法としては可及的に均一に混合できる方法が望ましく、粉砕混合や、減圧下又は窒素のような不活性ガス雰囲気下で加熱溶融させる方法や、昇華等が挙げられるが、これらの方法に限定されるものではない。
ホスト、及びその予備混合物の形態は、粉体、スティック状、または顆粒状であってもよい。ホスト及びその予備混合物は励起錯体を形成してもよい。
発光層に一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表されるもの以外の蛍光発光材料を使用する場合の蛍光発光材料としては、例えば、縮合多環芳香族誘導体、スチリルアミン誘導体、縮合環アミン誘導体、ホウ素含有化合物、ピロール誘導体、インドール誘導体、カルバゾール誘導体、インドロカルバゾール誘導体等が挙げられる。これらの中でも、縮合環アミン誘導体、ホウ素含有化合物、カルバゾール誘導体、インドロカルバゾール誘導体が好ましい。縮合環アミン誘導体としては、例えば、ジアミンピレン誘導体、ジアミノクリセン誘導体、ジアミノアントラセン誘導体、ジアミノフルオレノン誘導体、ベンゾフロ骨格が1つ以上縮環したジアミノフルオレン誘導体等が挙げられる。
ホウ素含有化合物としては、例えば、ピロメテン誘導体、トリフェニルボラン誘導体等が挙げられる。
ホウ素含有化合物としては、例えば、ピロメテン誘導体、トリフェニルボラン誘導体等が挙げられる。
一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表されるもの以外の好ましい蛍光発光材料としては、特に限定されるものではないが、具体的には以下のような例が挙げられる。
-注入層-
注入層とは、駆動電圧低下や発光輝度向上のために電極と有機層間に設けられる層のことで、正孔注入層と電子注入層があり、陽極と発光層又は正孔輸送層の間、及び陰極と発光層又は電子輸送層との間に存在させてもよい。注入層は必要に応じて設けることができる。
注入層とは、駆動電圧低下や発光輝度向上のために電極と有機層間に設けられる層のことで、正孔注入層と電子注入層があり、陽極と発光層又は正孔輸送層の間、及び陰極と発光層又は電子輸送層との間に存在させてもよい。注入層は必要に応じて設けることができる。
-正孔阻止層-
正孔阻止層とは広い意味では電子輸送層の機能を有し、電子を輸送する機能を有しつつ正孔を輸送する能力が著しく小さい正孔阻止材料からなり、電子を輸送しつつ正孔を阻止することで発光層中での電子と正孔の再結合確率を向上させることができる。正孔阻止層には、一般式(6)で表される化合物や公知の正孔阻止材料をすることができる。好ましくは、一般式(6)で表される化合物が挙げられる。また正孔阻止材料を複数種類併用して用いてもよい。
正孔阻止層とは広い意味では電子輸送層の機能を有し、電子を輸送する機能を有しつつ正孔を輸送する能力が著しく小さい正孔阻止材料からなり、電子を輸送しつつ正孔を阻止することで発光層中での電子と正孔の再結合確率を向上させることができる。正孔阻止層には、一般式(6)で表される化合物や公知の正孔阻止材料をすることができる。好ましくは、一般式(6)で表される化合物が挙げられる。また正孔阻止材料を複数種類併用して用いてもよい。
-電子阻止層-
電子阻止層とは広い意味では正孔輸送層の機能を有し、正孔を輸送しつつ電子を阻止することで発光層中での電子と正孔が再結合する確率を向上させることができる。電子阻止層の材料としては、一般式(5)で表される化合物や公知の電子阻止層材料を用いることができる。好ましくは、一般式(5)で表される化合物が挙げられる。
電子阻止層とは広い意味では正孔輸送層の機能を有し、正孔を輸送しつつ電子を阻止することで発光層中での電子と正孔が再結合する確率を向上させることができる。電子阻止層の材料としては、一般式(5)で表される化合物や公知の電子阻止層材料を用いることができる。好ましくは、一般式(5)で表される化合物が挙げられる。
-励起子阻止層-
励起子阻止層とは、発光層内で正孔と電子が再結合することにより生じた励起子が電荷輸送層に拡散することを阻止するための層であり、本層の挿入により励起子を効率的に発光層内に閉じ込めることが可能となり、素子の発光効率を向上させることができる。励起子阻止層は2つ以上の発光層が隣接する素子において、隣接する2つの発光層の間に挿入することができる。このような励起子阻止層の材料としては、公知の励起子阻止層材料を用いることができる。
励起子阻止層とは、発光層内で正孔と電子が再結合することにより生じた励起子が電荷輸送層に拡散することを阻止するための層であり、本層の挿入により励起子を効率的に発光層内に閉じ込めることが可能となり、素子の発光効率を向上させることができる。励起子阻止層は2つ以上の発光層が隣接する素子において、隣接する2つの発光層の間に挿入することができる。このような励起子阻止層の材料としては、公知の励起子阻止層材料を用いることができる。
発光層に隣接する層としては、正孔阻止層、電子阻止層、励起子阻止層などがあるが、これらの層が設けられない場合は、正孔輸送層、電子輸送層などが隣接層となる。
-正孔輸送層-
正孔輸送層とは正孔を輸送する機能を有する正孔輸送材料からなり、正孔輸送層は単層又は複数層設けることができる。

正孔輸送材料としては、正孔の注入、又は輸送、電子の障壁性のいずれかを有するものであり、有機物、無機物のいずれであってもよい。正孔輸送層には従来公知の化合物の中から任意のものを選択して用いることができる。かかる正孔輸送材料としては例えば、ポルフィリン誘導体、アリールアミン誘導体、トリアゾール誘導体、オキサジアゾール誘導体、イミダゾール誘導体、ポリアリールアルカン誘導体、フェニレンジアミン誘導体、アリールアミン誘導体、アミノ置換カルコン誘導体、オキサゾール誘導体、スチリルアントラセン誘導体、フルオレノン誘導体、ヒドラゾン誘導体、スチルベン誘導体、シラザン誘導体、アニリン系共重合体、また導電性高分子オリゴマー、特にチオフェンオリゴマー等が挙げられるが、ポルフィリン誘導体、アリールアミン誘導体及びスチリルアミン誘導体を用いることが好ましく、アリールアミン誘導体を用いることがより好ましい。
-電子輸送層-
電子輸送層とは電子を輸送する機能を有する材料からなり、電子輸送層は単層又は複数層設けることができる。

電子輸送材料(正孔阻止材料を兼ねる場合もある)としては、陰極より注入された電子を発光層に伝達する機能を有していればよい。電子輸送層には、従来公知の化合物の中から任意のものを選択して用いることができ、例えば、ナフタレン、アントラセン、フェナントロリン等の多環芳香族誘導体、トリス(8-キノリノラート)アルミニウム(III)誘導体、ホスフィンオキサイド誘導体、ニトロ置換フルオレン誘導体、ジフェニルキノン誘導体、チオピランジオキシド誘導体、カルボジイミド誘導体、フレオレニリデンメタン誘導体、アントラキノジメタン及びアントロン誘導体、ビピリジン誘導体、キノリン誘導体、オキサジアゾール誘導体、ベンゾイミダゾール誘導体、ベンゾチアゾール誘導体、インドロカルバゾール誘導体等が挙げられる。更にこれらの材料を高分子鎖に導入した、又はこれらの材料を高分子の主鎖とした高分子材料を用いることもできる。
本発明の有機EL素子を作製する際の、各層の製膜方法は特に限定されず、ドライプロセス、ウェットプロセスのどちらで作製してもよい。
以下、本発明を実施例によって更に詳しく説明するが、本発明はこれらの実施例に限定されるものではない。
実施例及び比較例で用いた化合物を次に示す。
上記の反応式で示したように、窒素雰囲気下、原料(A)10.9g、原料(B)10.0g、炭酸セシウム 31.8g、N,N-Dimethylacetamide 78mlを三口フラスコに入れ、160℃で4.5時間攪拌した。反応溶液を室温まで冷却した後、反応溶液を濾過し、濾液を水500mlが入ったフラスコに入れ30分間撹拌した。析出した固体を濾別した後、濾取物をイソプロピルアルコール150mlが入ったフラスコに入れ、1時間加熱攪拌した。室温に冷却した後、析出した固体を濾別し、得られた固体を真空乾燥することで中間体(C)17.0g(収率:89%)を得た。

次いで、窒素雰囲気下、上記で得られた中間体(C)10.0g、原料(D)8.3g、酢酸パラジウム 0.46g、ナトリウム t-ブトキシド9.8g、トリ-t-ブチルホスフィン0.8g、キシレン200mlを三口フラスコに入れ、80℃で2時間撹拌した。反応溶液を室温まで冷却した後、反応溶液をトルエンと水で分液し、有機層を濃縮した。得られた固体とテトラヒドロフラン150mlをナスフラスコに入れ、1時間加熱攪拌した後、室温まで冷却し、固体を濾別した。得られた固体を減圧乾燥することで中間体(E)11.5g(収率:85%)を得た。

窒素雰囲気下、上記で得られた中間体(E)2.08g、脱水オルトジクロロベンゼン30mlを加えた。室温で三臭化ホウ素25.0gを少しずつ加え、その後170℃で20時間攪拌した。反応後室温に戻し、水を少しずつ添加した。反応溶液をクロロホルムと水で分液し、有機層を濃縮した。濃縮物をシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィーで精製した。得られた固体を濾別した後、濾取物をトルエン50mlが入ったフラスコに入れ、1時間加熱攪拌した。室温に冷却した後、析出した固体を濾別し、得られた固体を減圧乾燥することで化合物(1-1)0.47g(収率:22%)を得た。

前記化合物(1-1)及びBD-1のS1とT1を測定した。
石英基板上に真空蒸着法にて、真空度10-4Pa以下の条件にして、具体例として示した前記化合物(2-30)をホストとし、同じく前記化合物(1-1)を発光性ドーパントとして、それぞれ異なる蒸着源から共蒸着し、蒸着膜を100nmの厚さで形成した。この時、化合物(1-1)の濃度が2質量%となる蒸着条件で共蒸着した。S1は、この蒸着膜の発光スペクトルを測定し、この発光スペクトルの短波長側の立ち上がりに対して接線を引き、その接線と横軸の交点の波長値λedge[nm]を、次に示す式(i)に代入してS1を算出する。

T1は、上記の蒸着膜の燐光スペクトルを測定し、この燐光スペクトルの短波長側の立ち上がりに対して接線を引き、その接線と横軸の交点の波長値λedge[nm]を、式(ii)に代入してT1を算出する。

実施例1
膜厚70nmのITOからなる陽極が形成されたガラス基板上に、以下に示す各薄膜を真空蒸着法にて、真空度4.0×10-5Paで積層した。先ず、ITO上に正孔注入層として先に示したHAT-CNを10nmの厚さに形成し、次に、正孔輸送層として前記HT-1を25nmの厚さに形成した。次に、電子阻止層として具体例として示した前記化合物(2-30)を5nmの厚さに形成した。そして、第一ホストとして同じく前記化合物(2-30)を、第二ホストとして前記化合物(3-3)を、ドーパントとして一般式(1)又は一般式(2)の具体例として示した先の例示化合物における化合物(1-1)をそれぞれ異なる蒸着源から共蒸着し、30nmの厚さを有する発光層を形成した。この時、化合物(2-30)の濃度を49質量%、化合物(3-3)の濃度を49質量%、化合物(1-1)の濃度を2質量%となる蒸着条件で共蒸着した。次に、正孔阻止層として化合物(3-3)を5nmの厚さに形成した。次に電子輸送層としてET-1を40nmの厚さに形成した。更に、電子輸送層上に電子注入層としてフッ化リチウム(LiF)を1nmの厚さに形成した。最後に、電子注入層上に陰極としてアルミニウム(Al)を70nmの厚さに形成し、実施例1に係る有機EL素子を作製した。
膜厚70nmのITOからなる陽極が形成されたガラス基板上に、以下に示す各薄膜を真空蒸着法にて、真空度4.0×10-5Paで積層した。先ず、ITO上に正孔注入層として先に示したHAT-CNを10nmの厚さに形成し、次に、正孔輸送層として前記HT-1を25nmの厚さに形成した。次に、電子阻止層として具体例として示した前記化合物(2-30)を5nmの厚さに形成した。そして、第一ホストとして同じく前記化合物(2-30)を、第二ホストとして前記化合物(3-3)を、ドーパントとして一般式(1)又は一般式(2)の具体例として示した先の例示化合物における化合物(1-1)をそれぞれ異なる蒸着源から共蒸着し、30nmの厚さを有する発光層を形成した。この時、化合物(2-30)の濃度を49質量%、化合物(3-3)の濃度を49質量%、化合物(1-1)の濃度を2質量%となる蒸着条件で共蒸着した。次に、正孔阻止層として化合物(3-3)を5nmの厚さに形成した。次に電子輸送層としてET-1を40nmの厚さに形成した。更に、電子輸送層上に電子注入層としてフッ化リチウム(LiF)を1nmの厚さに形成した。最後に、電子注入層上に陰極としてアルミニウム(Al)を70nmの厚さに形成し、実施例1に係る有機EL素子を作製した。
比較例1
ドーパントをBD-1とした以外は実施例1と同様にして、有機EL素子を作製した。

作製した有機EL素子の発光スペクトルの極大発光波長、外部量子効率、寿命を表2に示す。極大発光波長、外部量子効率は駆動電流密度が2.5mA/cm2時の値であり、初期特性である。寿命は、駆動電流密度が2.5mA/cm2時に輝度が初期輝度の80%まで減衰するまでの時間を測定した。
表2に示した通り、実施例1と比較例1のデータの比較より、一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表される特定の骨格とホウ素原子を組み合わせた発光材料を発光ドーパントとして使用した有機EL素子は、効率及び寿命がともに優れており、特に寿命特性に関して優れた結果を示した。これは特定の構造を有する骨格を使用したことで、共役が拡張し、酸化や還元に対する安定性が向上し、寿命特性が向上したと考えられる。
実施例2
S1及びT1は、前記のように実測で求めることもでき、また以下に示すような分子軌道法プログラムを利用した理論計算から求めることもできる。理論計算により得られるS1-T1が小さければ、逆交換交差を生じやすく、三重項励起子を効率的に発光に利用できるため、高い発光効率が期待できる。
一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料である1-1、1-3、1-67、1-70において、分子軌道法プログラムGaussian16を用い、密度半関数理論(DFT)により、TDA-PBE0/6-31G*レベルで構造最適化計算を行い、S1(theo)、T1(theo)、S1-T1(theo)を算出した。結果を表3に示す。また、比較例として、BD-1のS1(theo)、T1(theo)、S1-T1(theo)についても同様にして求めた結果を表3に示す。
S1及びT1は、前記のように実測で求めることもでき、また以下に示すような分子軌道法プログラムを利用した理論計算から求めることもできる。理論計算により得られるS1-T1が小さければ、逆交換交差を生じやすく、三重項励起子を効率的に発光に利用できるため、高い発光効率が期待できる。
一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料である1-1、1-3、1-67、1-70において、分子軌道法プログラムGaussian16を用い、密度半関数理論(DFT)により、TDA-PBE0/6-31G*レベルで構造最適化計算を行い、S1(theo)、T1(theo)、S1-T1(theo)を算出した。結果を表3に示す。また、比較例として、BD-1のS1(theo)、T1(theo)、S1-T1(theo)についても同様にして求めた結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載の通り、BD-1と比較して、一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料である1-1、1-3、1-67、1-70は小さなS1-T1(theo)を示すことから、BD-1よりも逆項間交差が生じやすく、三重項励起子を効率的に発光に利用できるため、高い発光効率が期待できる。
本発明の一般式(1)若しくは一般式(2)で表される発光材料は、S1-T1(theo)<0.55eVが望ましく、より好ましくはS1-T1(theo)<0.45eVである。

Claims (6)
- 下記一般式(1)又は一般式(2)で表されることを特徴とする発光材料。
F環、G環、及びJ環はそれぞれ独立に置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。
上記一般式(1)、及び(2)中の水素原子は重水素原子に置換されてもよく、
X1はそれぞれ独立にN-R1、O、又はSであり、R1は置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。
R2はそれぞれ独立に炭素数1~6の脂肪族炭化水素基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数6~24の芳香族炭化水素環基、置換若しくは未置換の炭素数3~18の芳香族複素環基、又はこれらの芳香族環が2~8個連結して構成される置換若しくは未置換の連結芳香族基を表す。a、b、c、l、m、及びnは置換数を表し、a、c及びmはそれぞれ独立に0~4の整数を表し、nは0~3の整数を表し、b及びlはそれぞれ独立に0~1の整数を表す。
一般式(1)中のC環とD環、及び、E環とF環は、それぞれ直接結合又は連結基により互いに環を形成してもよい。また、一般式(2)中のH環とG環、及びI環とJ環は、それぞれ直接結合又は連結基により互いに環を形成してもよい。) - 対向する陽極と陰極の間に、1つ以上の発光層を含む有機電界発光素子において、少なくとも1つの発光層が、請求項1、又は2に記載の発光材料を含有することを特徴とする有機電界発光素子。
- 対向する陽極と陰極の間に、1つ以上の発光層を含む有機電界発光素子において、少なくとも1つの発光層が、下記一般式(5)で表される化合物から選ばれる第一ホスト、及び下記一般式(6)で表される化合物から選ばれる第二ホストを含有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記一般式(1)又は(2)で表される発光材料が、発光スペクトルを測定して求められる励起一重項エネルギー(S1)と燐光スペクトルを測定して求められる励起三重項エネルギー(T1)との差(ΔEST)が0.20eV以下であることを特徴とする請求項3、又は4に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記一般式(1)又は(2)で表される発光材料をドーパントとして0.1~10wt%含有し、かつ、前記一般式(5)で表される第一ホスト及び前記一般式(6)で表される第二ホストを合計で99.9~90wt%含有する発光層を備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電界発光素子。
