Definitions
- the invention relates to a cleaning device for floor cleaning with a rotatably driven cleaning roller, with a roller drive, a housing in which the roller drive is accommodated, and with a removable roller cover.
- a wide variety of cleaning devices for floor cleaning are known. Many have rotatable cleaning brushes and/or rollers mounted in a housing which can be manually moved across a floor to be cleaned. Such a cleaning device is described, for example, in DE 20 2014 001 491 U1.
- the cleaning rollers After a certain period of use, the cleaning rollers must be removed and cleaned. It is therefore necessary that the cleaning rollers can be easily removed and reinstalled. This is not guaranteed in the state of the art mentioned above.
- the cleaning rollers After a long period of use, the cleaning rollers must be exchanged and replaced with new ones. It is therefore necessary that the cleaning rollers have a simple structure and can be manufactured inexpensively. This is not guaranteed in the state of the art mentioned above.
- the object of the present invention is to create a cleaning device whose cleaning roller can be easily replaced and which has an inexpensive, simple structure.
- a further object is to provide a cleaning device which enables the floor to be cleaned close to a wall.
- the cleaning device is used for floor cleaning and has at least one rotatably driven cleaning roller, which is arranged on the underside of the cleaning device and can be brought into contact with the surface to be cleaned.
- the cleaning roller can be provided with a cleaning surface, with a cleaning cloth or with cleaning bristles on its lateral surface.
- the cleaning device also has a roller drive for driving the cleaning roller, a housing in which the roller drive is accommodated, and a removable roller cover for covering the cleaning roller, in particular on the front side and the top of the cleaning device.
- the cleaning roller is rotatably mounted axially on both sides.
- the cleaning roller is on one side, namely on the drive side, driven by the roller drive and stored in the housing.
- the cleaning roller is mounted on the drive side in a side wall of the housing and on the guide side in a side wall of the roller cover.
- the housing has only a single side wall in the area of the cleaning roller and the roller cover also has only a single side wall in the area of the cleaning roller.
- the housing nor the roller cover have two side walls in the area of the cleaning roller, but only one each. This can simplify the structure of the cleaning device and makes it possible to position the cleaning roller in the cleaning device on the side wall side of the roller cover very close to the outer edge of the cleaning device, so that cleaning of the floor close to a wall is possible.
- the roller cover is detachably attached to the housing, in particular using a snap-in mechanism. This enables tool-free handling when removing the cleaning roller.
- the cleaning roller is designed as a symmetrical cylinder, namely plane-symmetrically to the central plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the cleaning roller. Ie the cleaning roller is designed the same on the drive side and on the guide side, there is no insertion direction of the cleaning roller in the Cleaning device and for even wear, the cleaning roller can be rotated so that the former drive end of the cleaning roller is on the guide side and vice versa. This also means that the cleaning roller is easy to manufacture and can wear out evenly during operation.
- Microfibre cloths are exceptionally soft and dimensionally stable and are made from microfibres, i.e. from fibers with a fineness of less than 1 dtex. Microfiber towels are also easy to wash. A particularly effective damp cleaning is possible with a microfibre cloth.
- roller bearings in particular ball bearings, are fitted on the drive side in the housing and on the guide side in the roller cover for mounting the cleaning roller.
- the roller bearings are not inseparably connected to the cleaning roller.
- the cleaning roller can be made of plastic from as few parts as possible, without the use of metal inserts such as bearings, etc. This ensures that the cleaning roller is easy to wash, e.g. in a household washing machine.
- the roller bearings can continue to be used when a new cleaning roller is installed and do not have to be disposed of together with the cleaning roller, which saves costs and protects the environment.
- roller bearings are mounted in the side walls of the housing and roller cover.
- the cleaning roller can be designed as a hollow cylinder. This enables that means for storing the cleaning roller can be accommodated inside the cleaning roller. In this way, the cleaning roller can extend as far as possible across the width of the cleaning device.
- receiving elements can be firmly connected to the hollow cylinder at both ends for mounting the cleaning roller.
- the receiving elements can be pressed into the hollow cylinder, ie connected in a press fit.
- roller mounts and receiving elements can have complementary shapes. In this way, the cleaning roller with its receiving elements can be easily connected to the roller holders.
- the roller holders and receiving elements are at least partially accommodated in the hollow cylinder of the cleaning roller.
- the cleaning roller extends well across the width of the cleaning implement and there is almost no clearance between an outer wall of the cleaning implement and the beginning of the cleaning roller.
- the area in which - viewed over the width of the cleaning device - no cleaning takes place can be kept very small and cleaning up to very close to walls or vertical surfaces is made possible.
- the guide-side roller mount can be an axle journal or stub axle and the drive-side roller mount can be a drive shaft own, which are picked up and stored by the roller bearings and so rotatably store the roller mounts and thus the cleaning roller.
- the cleaning device can be part of a cleaning apparatus, which can also have a water supply unit and, if necessary, an energy supply unit, e.g. a power connection.
- the water supply unit allows wet cleaning of the floor to be cleaned.
- the power supply unit provides the electrical power to operate the cleaning apparatus.
- the cleaning device can be designed as a hand-held device or as a self-propelled cleaning robot.
- the invention also relates to such a cleaning apparatus.
- FIG. 2 shows the cleaning device from FIG. 1 in an open position
- FIG. 3b shows a detailed view of the section from FIG. 3a
- Fig. 1 shows a cleaning device 100 for cleaning the floor 1000 with a rotatably driven cleaning roller 1 (not visible), with a roller drive 2 (not visible), a housing 3 in which the roller drive 2 is accommodated and with a removable roller cover 6, where the
- Cleaning roller 1 is under roller cover 6.
- the roller cover 6 is detachably attached to the housing 3 using a locking mechanism 12. By a movement e (see arrow) the roller cover 6 can be unlocked.
- the cleaning device 100 can be brought into an open position. In this position, the cleaning roller 1 can be seen, which can be easily removed and reinstalled, e.g. for cleaning purposes or to replace it.
- the cleaning roller 1 is driven on the right side, namely on the drive side 10, by the roller drive 2 and is mounted in the housing 3. In concrete terms, it is mounted in a side wall 13 of the housing 3 . At this point, in the area to the side of the cleaning roller 1, the housing 3 has only one side wall 13.
- the roller cover 6 is open on the drive side and has no side wall there.
- the housing 3, on the other hand, is open on the guide side and has no side wall there.
- Fig. 3a shows a section through the cleaning device 100 and its cleaning roller 1. It can be seen that the cleaning roller 1 is mounted on its left side, namely on the guide side 11, in the roller cover 6, specifically in a side wall 16 of the roller cover 6.
- the roller cover 6 has at this point, in the area to the side of the cleaning roller 1, only one side wall 16. A side wall 13 of the housing 3 is not provided here.
- a drive 2 is provided on the drive side 10, which drives a drive axle 18.2, e.g. by means of a drive belt and a gear, which in turn indirectly drives the cleaning roller 1.
- the cleaning roller 1 is designed as a symmetrical cylinder, namely as a hollow cylinder 14, which is identical at both ends.
- the axis of symmetry S in the center plane of the cleaning roller 1 is indicated in FIG. 3a.
- Fig. 3b shows a detailed view of the section from Fig. 3a namely the
- roller bearing 19 On the guide side 11 in the roller cover 6 there is a roller bearing 19 , in particular a ball bearing, fitted to support the cleaning roller 1 .
- a roller bearing 19 is also accommodated in the housing 3 on the drive side 10 .
- roller bearings 19 are attached to the side walls 13, 16 of the housing 3 and the roller cover 6, and are therefore not part of the cleaning roller 1.
- receiving elements 17 are firmly connected to the hollow cylinder 14 at both ends and can be removed from the cleaning device 100 together with the cleaning roller 1 .
- Two roller holders 18 are also provided, one roller holder 18 being held by the receiving elements 17 on the drive side 10 and one roller holder 18 on the guide side 11 and mounted in the roller bearings 19 .
- Role mounts 18 and receiving elements 17 are so far com- complementarily shaped so that they can interlock.
- Part of the guide-side 11 roller mount 18 is an axle journal 18.1, which is received by the associated roller bearing 19.
- the drive-side 10 storage is very similar and constructed analogously. Instead of an axle journal 18.1, however, a drive shaft 18.2 is used.
- the roller holders 18 represent, so to speak, the link between the receiving elements 17 and the roller bearings 19 and remain connected to the roller bearings 19 even when the cleaning roller 1 is removed, i.e. they remain in the cleaning device 100.
- the cleaning apparatus 101 shows a cleaning apparatus 101 with a cleaning device 100 as described above with a cleaning roller 1.
- the cleaning apparatus 101 also has a water supply unit 4.1 and an energy supply unit 4.2.
