Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Graphit-haltigen Metalloxid-Elektrode, aufweisend folgende Schritte a) Bereitstellen (1 ) einer Elektrolysezelle (10) mit einer Elektrode (11 ), einer weiteren Elektrode (12) und einem wässrigen und/oder nichtwässrigen carbonyl- und cyanofreien Lösungsmittel (14), b) Einbringen (2) von Schwarzmasse (15) und einer Protonenquelle in das sich in der Elektrolysezelle (10) befindenden Lösungsmittel (14), wobei die Schwarzmasse (15) auf Graphit-geträgerte edelmetallfreie Metalloxide aufweist, und c) Anlegen (3) einer Spannung an die Elektrode (11 ) und die weitere Elektrode (12), so dass sich die mittels der Schwarzmasse (15) bereitgestellten edelmetallfreien Metalloxide und Graphit an der Elektrode (11 ) abscheiden, um eine Graphit-haltige Metalloxid- Beschichtung (17) auf der Elektrode (11 ) zur Bildung der Graphit¬ haltigen Metalloxid-Elektrode zu erzeugen. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung eine Graphit-haltige Metalloxid-Elektrode, die hergestellt ist nach dem Verfahren. Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung eine Verwendung der Graphit-haltigen Metalloxid-Elektrode zur Herstellung von Wasserstoff und/oder Sauerstoff mittels (photo)-elektrochemischer Wasserspaltung sowie eine Elektrolysezelle (20) zur Herstellung von Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff mittels (photo)-elektrochemischer Wasserspaltung, aufweisend die Graphit-haltige Metalloxid-Elektrode als Kathode (22) und/oder die Graphit-haltige Metalloxid-Elektrode als Anode (21 ).
