Abstract

Description
本発明は、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物に関し、さらに詳述すると、液晶ディスプレイ、有機ELディスプレイ、マイクロLEDディスプレイ等の各種ディスプレイに好適に用いられるディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物に関する。
マイクロLEDディスプレイは、高コントラスト、高輝度が可能であるうえ、大画面化や透明ディスプレイなど応用の幅も広いことから、液晶ディスプレイ、有機ELディスプレイに次ぐ次世代ディスプレイとして期待されている。
マイクロLEDディスプレイでは、通常、各画素に微小LEDチップが配置される。
このLEDチップの配置の方式として三色のLEDを実装するRGB-LED方式があるが、この方式においては、LEDの発光制御の複雑さ、赤色LEDの性能の低さが課題とされており、この課題を解決できる波長変換方式が注目されている。
波長変換方式では、青色LEDチップのみを使用し、波長変換材料によって赤色、緑色の光を取り出すもので、青色LEDチップのみを用いて三原色を作ることができるという利点がある。

これらの波長変換材料には、一般的に良好な波長変換効率、色純度および耐光性等の特性が求められる。
この点、例えば、特許文献7には、特定のメタアクリル系重合体からなるバインダー樹脂、特定の蛍光色素および光重合可能なアクリル酸エステルを含む組成物が、高性能で耐光性のよい赤色変換材料となることが開示されている。
また、有機発光材料の劣化を防ぎ、耐久性を向上させるため、光安定化剤を添加する技術も開示されている(特許文献8等)。
さらに、波長変換材料に微粒子を添加することで、色変換層内での光の散乱により光路長が増大して青色光吸収率が向上するとともに、界面で反射された光が再度散乱されることで発光効率が向上することが知られている(特許文献9,10等)。
この点、例えば、特許文献7には、特定のメタアクリル系重合体からなるバインダー樹脂、特定の蛍光色素および光重合可能なアクリル酸エステルを含む組成物が、高性能で耐光性のよい赤色変換材料となることが開示されている。
また、有機発光材料の劣化を防ぎ、耐久性を向上させるため、光安定化剤を添加する技術も開示されている(特許文献8等)。
さらに、波長変換材料に微粒子を添加することで、色変換層内での光の散乱により光路長が増大して青色光吸収率が向上するとともに、界面で反射された光が再度散乱されることで発光効率が向上することが知られている(特許文献9,10等)。
しかし、近年のディスプレイ技術の発展に伴い、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物には、ディスプレイの性能向上の観点から、波長変換材料の波長変換効率のさらなる改良が求められ、生産性の観点から、組成物の保存安定性のさらなる改良が求められている。
本発明は、上記事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、波長変換効率に優れる波長変換膜を与えるとともに、保存安定性にも優れるディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物を提供することを目的とする。
本発明者らは、上記課題を解決するために鋭意検討を重ねた結果、特定範囲の平均粒子径を有する酸化チタン粒子を含み、粘度を特定範囲に調整したディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物が上記課題を解決し得ることを見出し、本発明を完成させた。
すなわち、本発明は、以下のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物を提供する。
1. (A)蛍光体と(B)酸化チタン粒子と(C)バインダーとを含有し、
上記(B)酸化チタン粒子は、その表面が無機化合物で被覆されていてもよく、その平均粒子径が50nm超~200nm未満であり、
25℃の粘度が10,000mPa・s以下であるディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
2. 上記(B)酸化チタン粒子の平均粒子径が、60~190nmである1のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
3. 上記(B)酸化チタン粒子が、該酸化チタン粒子の表面が被覆されていない粒子である1または2のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
4. 上記(B)酸化チタン粒子の含有量が、固形分中3~10質量%である1~3のいずれかのディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
5. 上記(A)蛍光体が、有機色素である1~4のいずれかのディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
6. 上記組成物から形成される膜のヘイズ値が18%以上である1~5のいずれかのディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。

6. 上記組成物から形成される膜のヘイズ値が18%以上である1~5のいずれかのディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
本発明によれば、波長変換効率に優れる波長変換膜を与えるとともに、保存安定性にも優れるディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物を提供できる。
以下、本発明についてさらに詳しく説明する。
本発明のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物は、(A)蛍光体と(B)酸化チタン粒子と(C)バインダーとを含有し、上記(B)酸化チタン粒子は、その表面が無機化合物で被覆されていてもよく、その平均粒子径が50nm超~200nm未満であり、25℃の粘度が10,000mPa・s以下であることを特徴とする。(B)酸化チタン粒子の表面が無機化合物で被覆されている場合、その平均粒子径は、無機化合物で被覆された酸化チタン粒子の平均粒子径である。
なお、以下の説明において、固形分とは、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物を構成する溶媒以外の成分を意味する。
本発明のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物は、(A)蛍光体と(B)酸化チタン粒子と(C)バインダーとを含有し、上記(B)酸化チタン粒子は、その表面が無機化合物で被覆されていてもよく、その平均粒子径が50nm超~200nm未満であり、25℃の粘度が10,000mPa・s以下であることを特徴とする。(B)酸化チタン粒子の表面が無機化合物で被覆されている場合、その平均粒子径は、無機化合物で被覆された酸化チタン粒子の平均粒子径である。
なお、以下の説明において、固形分とは、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物を構成する溶媒以外の成分を意味する。
上記(A)蛍光体としては、従来公知の無機蛍光体、有機色素、半導体ナノ粒子(量子ドット、量子ロッド等)等から適宜選択できるが、ディスプレイの高精細化、および組成物の保存安定性の観点から、有機色素が好ましい。なお、本発明では、半導体ナノ粒子を含まないことが好ましい。
有機色素としては、例えば、ナフタレン、アントラセン、フェナンスレン、ピレン、クリセン、ナフタセン、トリフェニレン、ペリレン、フルオランテン、フルオレン、インデン等の縮合アリール環を有する化合物やその誘導体;フラン、ピロール、チオフェン、シロール、9-シラフルオレン、9,9’-スピロビシラフルオレン、ベンゾチオフェン、ベンゾフラン、インドール、ジベンゾチオフェン、ジベンゾフラン、イミダゾピリジン、フェナントロリン、ピリジン、ピラジン、ナフチリジン、キノキサリン、ピロロピリジン等のヘテロアリール環を有する化合物やその誘導体;1,4-ジスチリルベンゼン、4,4’-ビス(2-(4-ジフェニルアミノフェニル)エテニル)ビフェニル、4,4’-ビス(N-(スチルベン-4-イル)-N-フェニルアミノ)スチルベン等のスチルベン誘導体;芳香族アセチレン誘導体;テトラフェニルブタジエン誘導体;アルダジン誘導体;ピロメテン誘導体;ジケトピロロ[3,4-c]ピロール誘導体;クマリン6、クマリン7、クマリン153、特許文献7に開示されている化合物等のクマリン誘導体;ナフトホスホールオキシド誘導体;イミダゾール、チアゾール、チアジアゾール、カルバゾール、オキサゾール、オキサジアゾール、トリアゾールなどのアゾール誘導体およびその金属錯体;インドシアニングリーン等のシアニン系化合物;フルオレセイン・エオシン・ローダミン等のキサンテン系化合物やチオキサンテン系化合物;ポリフェニレン系化合物、ナフタルイミド誘導体、フタロシアニン誘導体およびその金属錯体、ポルフィリン誘導体およびその金属錯体;ナイルレッドやナイルブルー等のオキサジン系化合物;ヘリセン系化合物;N,N’-ジフェニル-N,N’-ジ(3-メチルフェニル)-4,4’-ジフェニル-1,1’-ジアミン等の芳香族アミン誘導体;イリジウム(Ir)、ルテニウム(Ru)、ロジウム(Rh)、パラジウム(Pd)、白金(Pt)、オスミウム(Os)、レニウム(Re)等の有機金属錯体化合物などが挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
なお、本発明では、有機色素としては、特開2021-128338号公報に開示されている一般式[1]で表される部分構造を有する色素(B1)を含まないものとする。

本発明では、上記の有機色素の中でも、クマリン誘導体、ナフトホスホールオキシド誘導体、ピロメテン誘導体およびペリレン誘導体が好ましい。
上記クマリン誘導体としては、下記式(1)で表されるクマリン誘導体が好ましい。
式(1)において、R1およびR2は、それぞれ独立して炭素数2~10のアルキル基を表し、R3およびR4は、それぞれ独立して炭素数2~8のアルキル基を示すが、R3およびR4は、互いに結合して窒素原子とともに環を形成してもよい。
上記炭素数2~10のアルキル基は、直鎖、分岐、環状のいずれでもよく、その具体例としては、エチル、n-プロピル、i-プロピル、n-ブチル、n-ヘキシル、n-オクチル、2-エチルヘキシル、シクロヘキシルメチル、ネオペンチル基が挙げられる。
上記炭素数2~8のアルキル基は、直鎖、分岐、環状のいずれでもよく、その具体例としては、上記炭素数2~10のアルキル基のうち炭素数2~8のものが挙げられる。
上記炭素数2~10のアルキル基は、直鎖、分岐、環状のいずれでもよく、その具体例としては、エチル、n-プロピル、i-プロピル、n-ブチル、n-ヘキシル、n-オクチル、2-エチルヘキシル、シクロヘキシルメチル、ネオペンチル基が挙げられる。
上記炭素数2~8のアルキル基は、直鎖、分岐、環状のいずれでもよく、その具体例としては、上記炭素数2~10のアルキル基のうち炭素数2~8のものが挙げられる。
これらの中でも、R1およびR2の一方が、直鎖状アルキル基であり、他方が分岐状または環状のアルキル基が好ましく、n-ヘキシル基とシクロヘキシルメチル基との組み合わせがより好ましい。
R3およびR4としては、エチル、n-プロピル、n-ブチル、n-ヘキシル、n-オクチル、2-エチルヘキシル基が好ましく、n-ブチル基、n-ヘキシル基がより好ましい。
式(1)で表されるクマリン誘導体の好適例として、下記式(1A)で表される化合物が挙げられるが、これに限定されるものではない。
R3およびR4としては、エチル、n-プロピル、n-ブチル、n-ヘキシル、n-オクチル、2-エチルヘキシル基が好ましく、n-ブチル基、n-ヘキシル基がより好ましい。
式(1)で表されるクマリン誘導体の好適例として、下記式(1A)で表される化合物が挙げられるが、これに限定されるものではない。
上記式(1A)で示されるクマリン誘導体は、例えば以下スキームに示されるような公知の反応を用いて合成できる。
すなわち、第1段階では、中国特許公開公報105001666Aの段落[0037]等に記載された反応に準じ、m-アミノフェノールと、ブロモシクロヘキシルメタン等のハロゲン化シクロヘキシルメタンおよび1-ブロモヘキサン等の1-ハロゲン化ヘキサンとを塩基の存在下、溶媒中で反応させて化合物A-1を合成する。
この反応において、ハロゲン化シクロヘキシルメタンおよび1-ハロゲン化ヘキサンの使用量は、m-アミノフェノール1molに対し、それぞれ0.5mol程度が好ましい。
塩基としては、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カリウム等を使用でき、その使用量は、m-アミノフェノール1molに対し、1~2molが好ましく、1~1.5mol程度がより好ましい。
溶媒としては、水;メタノール、エタノール、イソプロパノール等のアルコール溶媒;水とアルコール溶媒との混合溶媒(例えば、イソプロパノール/水(v/v)=1:1)等を用いることができる。
反応温度は、室温から溶媒の沸点までの任意の温度が採用できるが、50~100℃が好ましく、60~90℃がより好ましい。
反応時間は、通常、1~48時間程度であるが、上記温度範囲であれば、12~36時間程度が好ましく、18~24時間程度がより好ましい。
反応雰囲気は特に限定されるものではないが、窒素ガス等の不活性ガス雰囲気が好ましい。
反応終了後は、常法に従って後処理を行い、必要に応じて精製して化合物A-1を得る。
この反応において、ハロゲン化シクロヘキシルメタンおよび1-ハロゲン化ヘキサンの使用量は、m-アミノフェノール1molに対し、それぞれ0.5mol程度が好ましい。
塩基としては、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カリウム等を使用でき、その使用量は、m-アミノフェノール1molに対し、1~2molが好ましく、1~1.5mol程度がより好ましい。
溶媒としては、水;メタノール、エタノール、イソプロパノール等のアルコール溶媒;水とアルコール溶媒との混合溶媒(例えば、イソプロパノール/水(v/v)=1:1)等を用いることができる。
反応温度は、室温から溶媒の沸点までの任意の温度が採用できるが、50~100℃が好ましく、60~90℃がより好ましい。
反応時間は、通常、1~48時間程度であるが、上記温度範囲であれば、12~36時間程度が好ましく、18~24時間程度がより好ましい。
反応雰囲気は特に限定されるものではないが、窒素ガス等の不活性ガス雰囲気が好ましい。
反応終了後は、常法に従って後処理を行い、必要に応じて精製して化合物A-1を得る。
第2段階では、化合物A-1のベンゼン環をホルミル化して化合物A-2を合成する。
ホルミル化の手法は任意であるが、オキシ塩化リンや塩化チオニル等の脱水塩素化剤と、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)とを用いる、いわゆるヴィルスマイヤー・ハック反応が好適である。
具体的には、DMFに脱水塩素化剤を加えて調製した溶液に、化合物A-1のDMF溶液を加え、加熱撹拌した後、水を加えて加水分解して化合物A-2へ導く。
反応温度は、50~100℃程度が好ましく、60~80℃がより好ましい。
反応時間は、通常、1~24時間程度であるが、1~12時間が好ましく、1~6時間がより好ましい。
反応雰囲気は特に限定されるものではないが、大気雰囲気でも、窒素ガス等の不活性ガス雰囲気でもよい。
反応終了後は、常法に従って後処理を行い、必要に応じて精製して化合物A-2を得る。
ホルミル化の手法は任意であるが、オキシ塩化リンや塩化チオニル等の脱水塩素化剤と、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)とを用いる、いわゆるヴィルスマイヤー・ハック反応が好適である。
具体的には、DMFに脱水塩素化剤を加えて調製した溶液に、化合物A-1のDMF溶液を加え、加熱撹拌した後、水を加えて加水分解して化合物A-2へ導く。

第3段階では、例えば、Analytical Chemistry,Vol. 89, Issue 20, Pages 11098-11106,2017, DOI: 10.1021/acs.analchem.7b03229等に記載された反応に準じ、化合物A-2および2-シアノメチルベンゾチアゾールをメタノール等の溶媒に溶かした後、撹拌しながら濃塩酸等の強酸を加え、加熱して反応させ、その後酢酸ナトリウム等の弱塩基を加え、さらに加熱還流を行うことで化合物A-3を得る。
この反応において、2-シアノメチルベンゾチアゾールの使用量は、化合物A-2 1molに対し、1~2molが好ましく、1~1.5molがより好ましく、1.1~1.3molがより一層好ましい。
反応温度は、使用する溶媒が還流する温度が好ましい。
反応時間は、通常、1~12時間程度であるが、1~6時間程度が好ましい。
反応雰囲気は特に限定されるものではないが、大気雰囲気でも、窒素ガス等の不活性ガス雰囲気でもよい。
反応終了後は、常法に従って後処理を行い、必要に応じて精製して化合物A-3を得る。
この反応において、2-シアノメチルベンゾチアゾールの使用量は、化合物A-2 1molに対し、1~2molが好ましく、1~1.5molがより好ましく、1.1~1.3molがより一層好ましい。
反応温度は、使用する溶媒が還流する温度が好ましい。
反応時間は、通常、1~12時間程度であるが、1~6時間程度が好ましい。
反応雰囲気は特に限定されるものではないが、大気雰囲気でも、窒素ガス等の不活性ガス雰囲気でもよい。
反応終了後は、常法に従って後処理を行い、必要に応じて精製して化合物A-3を得る。
第4段階では、例えば、Dyes and Pigments , Vol. 51, Issues 2-3, Pages 153-159, 2001等に記載された反応に準じ、化合物A-3と塩化スルホン酸を加熱して反応させて生じた生成物を、水で洗浄した後、水とジブチルアミンを加えてさらに反応させて式(1A)で示されるクマリン誘導体を得る。
この反応において、塩化スルホン酸の使用量は、化合物A-3 1molに対し、1.5~3molが好ましく、2~2.5molがより好ましい。
また、ジブチルアミンの使用量は、化合物A-3 1molに対し、1~3molが好ましく、1.5~2molがより好ましい。
塩化スルホン酸との反応における反応温度は、50~180℃が好ましく、80~150℃がより好ましく、100~140℃がより一層好ましく、反応時間は、通常、1~12時間程度であるが、2~6時間程度が好ましい。
ジブチルアミンとの反応における反応温度は、10~50℃が好ましく、15~40℃がより好ましく、20~30℃がより一層好ましく、反応時間は、通常、0.5~12時間程度であるが、1~4時間程度が好ましい。
反応雰囲気は特に限定されるものではないが、大気雰囲気でも、窒素ガス等の不活性ガス雰囲気でもよい。
反応終了後は、常法に従って後処理を行い、精製して式(1A)で示されるクマリン誘導体を得る。
この反応において、塩化スルホン酸の使用量は、化合物A-3 1molに対し、1.5~3molが好ましく、2~2.5molがより好ましい。
また、ジブチルアミンの使用量は、化合物A-3 1molに対し、1~3molが好ましく、1.5~2molがより好ましい。
塩化スルホン酸との反応における反応温度は、50~180℃が好ましく、80~150℃がより好ましく、100~140℃がより一層好ましく、反応時間は、通常、1~12時間程度であるが、2~6時間程度が好ましい。
ジブチルアミンとの反応における反応温度は、10~50℃が好ましく、15~40℃がより好ましく、20~30℃がより一層好ましく、反応時間は、通常、0.5~12時間程度であるが、1~4時間程度が好ましい。
反応雰囲気は特に限定されるものではないが、大気雰囲気でも、窒素ガス等の不活性ガス雰囲気でもよい。
反応終了後は、常法に従って後処理を行い、精製して式(1A)で示されるクマリン誘導体を得る。
上記ナフトホスホールオキシド誘導体の具体例としては、下記式(1B)で表されるナフトホスホールオキシド誘導体が挙げられる。
上記ピロメテン誘導体の具体例としては、下記式(1C)で表されるピロメテン誘導体が挙げられる。
上記ペリレン誘導体の具体例としては、下記式(1D)で表されるペリレン誘導体が挙げられる。
上記(A)蛍光体の含有量は、得られる波長変換膜の波長変換効率を考慮すると、固形分中0.1~10質量%が好ましく、0.2~7質量%がより好ましく、0.3~5質量%がより一層好ましい。
上記(B)酸化チタン粒子は、光散乱粒子として配合されるものである。酸化チタン粒子としては、特に制限されるものではないが、例えば、波長変換材料に従来用いられているものから適宜選択すればよい。
一般的にディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物に光散乱粒子を配合することで、波長変換膜に進入した光の膜中での光路長が伸び、波長変換膜内部で波長変換される機会が増える結果、波長変換効率が向上すること、また、波長変換膜界面での反射により、膜内部に戻ってきた光が再度散乱する結果、光取り出し効率が向上することが知られている。
一般的にディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物に光散乱粒子を配合することで、波長変換膜に進入した光の膜中での光路長が伸び、波長変換膜内部で波長変換される機会が増える結果、波長変換効率が向上すること、また、波長変換膜界面での反射により、膜内部に戻ってきた光が再度散乱する結果、光取り出し効率が向上することが知られている。
酸化チタン粒子は、アナターゼ型、ルチル型のいずれであっても使用できるが、365nmの紫外光透過率を考慮すると、ルチル型の酸化チタンがより透過率が高いため、より好ましい。
酸化チタン粒子は、表面処理を施したものを用いてもよいが、本発明においては、組成物の保存安定性を考慮すると、表面処理を施していないものが好ましい。
表面処理を行う場合、表面処理の具体的な材料としては、酸化ケイ素や酸化ジルコニウム等の異種無機酸化物、水酸化アルミニウム等の金属水酸化物、オルガノシロキサン、ステアリン酸等の有機酸等が挙げられる。これら表面処理材は、1種を単独で用いても、複数種を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
表面処理を行う場合、表面処理の具体的な材料としては、酸化ケイ素や酸化ジルコニウム等の異種無機酸化物、水酸化アルミニウム等の金属水酸化物、オルガノシロキサン、ステアリン酸等の有機酸等が挙げられる。これら表面処理材は、1種を単独で用いても、複数種を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
酸化チタン粒子の平均粒子径は、50nm超~200nm未満である。平均粒子径の下限は、波長変換効率の観点から、60nm以上が好ましく、70nm以上がより好ましい。波長変換効率の観点に加えて、パターニング特性を考慮すると、i線(365nm)における全光線反射率が低いといった観点から、100nmを超える平均粒子径がより好ましい。平均粒子径の上限は、保存安定性の観点から、190nm以下が好ましく、180nm以下がより好ましい。なお、本明細書において平均粒子径は、透過型電子顕微鏡により観察して測定した粒子径であり、動的光散乱粒子径は、動的光散乱法による体積基準の粒度分布測定における累積頻度分布が50%になる粒子径(メジアン径D50)である。
酸化チタン粒子は、市販品を用いてもよく、その具体例としては、PT-401M(ルチル型、平均粒子径70nm)、PT-401L(ルチル型、平均粒子径130nm)、PT-501R(ルチル型、平均粒子径180nm)等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。なお、例示した酸化チタン粒子の平均粒子径は±10nmのバラツキがあり得る。
上記(B)酸化チタン粒子の含有量は、波長変換効率と保存安定性を考慮すると、固形分中0.1~20質量%が好ましく、0.2~15質量%がより好ましく、0.3~10質量%がより一層好ましく、3~10質量%がさらに好ましい。
上記(C)バインダーとしては、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物においてバインダーとして使用される公知の樹脂等から選択すればよい。
樹脂としては、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物のベース樹脂として利用されている樹脂から適宜選択して用いることができ、例えば、ポリスチレン(PS)、ポリエチレン(PE)、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ポリメチルペンテン等のポリオレフィン樹脂;ポリメチルメタクリレート(PMMA)、メタクリル酸メチル-メタクリル酸共重合体、メタクリル酸ベンジル-メタクリル酸共重合体等のアクリル系樹脂、エチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA);ポリビニルブチラート(PVB);トリアセチルセルロース(TAC)、ニトロセルロース等のセルロースエステル樹脂などが挙げられる。
これらの中でも、アクリル系樹脂が好ましく、メタクリル酸メチル-メタクリル酸共重合体がより好ましい。
上記各樹脂は、市販品を用いても、重合開始剤を用いたラジカル重合等の常法に従って合成したものを用いてもよい。
これらの中でも、アクリル系樹脂が好ましく、メタクリル酸メチル-メタクリル酸共重合体がより好ましい。

上記樹脂の平均分子量は、特に制限されるものではないが、その重量平均分子量(Mw)は、通常5,000~100,000、好ましくは10,000~50,000である。

上記(C)バインダーとしては、重合性モノマーと光重合開始剤とを配合し、製膜後に重合させるようにしてもよい。これらは、上述した樹脂と併用することもできる。
上記重合性モノマーとしては、光重合開始剤と共に用いられ、光の照射によって重合するものであれば特に限定されないが、エチレン性不飽和モノマーが好ましい。本発明では、上記エチレン性不飽和モノマーとしては、単官能モノマー、二官能モノマーおよび三官能以上のモノマーのいずれも用いることができる。
上記重合性モノマーとしては、光重合開始剤と共に用いられ、光の照射によって重合するものであれば特に限定されないが、エチレン性不飽和モノマーが好ましい。本発明では、上記エチレン性不飽和モノマーとしては、単官能モノマー、二官能モノマーおよび三官能以上のモノマーのいずれも用いることができる。
単官能モノマーとしては、例えば、下記式(M1)で表されるモノ(メタ)アクリレートが挙げられる。
式(M1)において、Rm1は、水素原子またはメチル基を示し、Rm2は、1価の炭化水素基(ただし、エチレン性不飽和基を含むものを除く。)を示す。炭化水素基は、直鎖状、分岐状または環状のいずれであってもよい。インクジェット法における吐出安定性に優れる点および外部量子効率の向上効果により優れる点から、炭化水素基の炭素数は好ましくは7以下である。換言すれば、単官能モノマーは、上記式(M1)におけるRm2が炭素数8以上の炭化水素基であるモノマーではないことが好ましい。炭化水素基は、置換されていてもよく、例えば、エーテル結合を有していてよい。
単官能モノマーの具体例としては、メチル(メタ)アクリレート、エチル(メタ)アクリレート、プロピル(メタ)アクリレート、ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、アミル(メタ)アクリレート、2-エチルヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート、オクチル(メタ)アクリレート、ノニル(メタ)アクリレート、ドデシル(メタ)アクリレート、ヘキサデシル(メタ)アクリレート、オクタデシル(メタ)アクリレート、シクロヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート、メトキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、ブトキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、フェノキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、ノニルフェノキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、グリシジル(メタ)アクリレート、ジメチルアミノエチル(メタ)アクリレート、ジエチルアミノエチル(メタ)アクリレート、エトキシエトキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソボルニル(メタ)アクリレート、ジシクロペンタニル(メタ)アクリレート、ジシクロペンテニル(メタ)アクリレート、ジシクロペンテニロキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、2-ヒドロキシ-3-フェノキシプロピル(メタ)アクリレート、テトラヒドロフルフリル(メタ)アクリレート、2-ヒドロキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、ベンジル(メタ)アクリレート、フェニルベンジル(メタ)アクリレート、こはく酸モノ(2-アクリロイルオキシエチル)、N-[2-(アクリロイルオキシ)エチル]フタルイミド、N-[2-(アクリロイルオキシ)エチル]テトラヒドロフタルイミド等が挙げられる。これらの中でも、エトキシエトキシエチル(メタ)アクリレートが好ましく用いられる。
単官能モノマーとしては、インクジェット法における吐出安定性を向上させやすい点から、10,000mPa・s以下、8,000mPa・s以下、5,000mPa・s以下または1,000mPa・s以下の粘度を有するモノマーが好ましい。なお、本明細書中、単官能モノマー等のエチレン性不飽和基を有するモノマーの粘度は、例えば、EMS粘度計によって測定される25℃における粘度である。
二官能モノマーとしては、例えば、下記式(M2)で表されるジ(メタ)アクリレートが挙げられる。

二官能モノマーの具体例としては、1,3-ブチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,4-ブタンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,5-ペンタンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、3-メチル-1,5-ペンタンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ネオペンチルグリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,8-オクタンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,9-ノナンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、トリシクロデカンジメタノールジ(メタ)アクリレート、エチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、プロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ジプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、トリプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ネオペンチルグリコ-ルヒドロキシピバリン酸エステルジアクリレ-ト、トリス(2-ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレートの2つの水酸基が(メタ)アクリロイルオキシ基によって置換されたジ(メタ)アクリレート、ネオペンチルグリコール1モルに4モル以上のエチレンオキサイドもしくはプロピレンオキサイドを付加して得られるジオールの2つの水酸基が(メタ)アクリロイルオキシ基によって置換されたジ(メタ)アクリレート、ビスフェノールA 1モルに2モルのエチレンオキサイドもしくはプロピレンオキサイドを付加して得られるジオールの2つの水酸基が(メタ)アクリロイルオキシ基によって置換されたジ(メタ)アクリレート、トリメチロールプロパン1モルに3モル以上のエチレンオキサイドもしくはプロピレンオキサイドを付加して得られるトリオールの2つの水酸基が(メタ)アクリロイルオキシ基によって置換されたジ(メタ)アクリレート、ビスフェノールA 1モルに4モル以上のエチレンオキサイドもしくはプロピレンオキサイドを付加して得られるジオールの2つの水酸基が(メタ)アクリロイルオキシ基によって置換されたジ(メタ)アクリレートなどが挙げられる。これらの中でも、ジプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレートが好ましく用いられる。

三官能モノマーとしては、インクジェット法における吐出安定性を向上させやすい点から、10,000mPa・s以下、5,000mPa・s以下または1,000mPa・以下の粘度を有するモノマーが好ましい。上記粘度は、25℃における粘度である。
光重合開始剤としては、光ラジカル重合開始剤、光カチオン重合開始剤等を使用することができる。波長変換部材の一般的な製造方法への適合性を考慮すると、光ラジカル重合性化合物を用いることが好ましく、硬化プロセスにおける酸素阻害を受けることなく画素部(インク組成物の硬化物)を形成できる観点では、光カチオン重合性化合物を用いることが好ましい。
光ラジカル重合開始剤としては、分子開裂型または水素引き抜き型の光ラジカル重合開始剤が好適に用いられる。
分子開裂型の光ラジカル重合開始剤としては、例えば、ベンゾインイソブチルエーテル、2,4-ジエチルチオキサントン、2-イソプロピルチオキサントン、2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキシド、フェニル(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)ホスフィン酸エチル、2-ベンジル-2-ジメチルアミノ-1-(4-モルフォリノフェニル)-ブタン-1-オン、ビス(2,6-ジメトキシベンゾイル)-2,4,4-トリメチルペンチルホスフィンオキシド、ビス(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)フェニルホスフィンオキシド、(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)エトキシフェニルホスフィンオキシドが挙げられる。これら以外の分子開裂型の光ラジカル重合開始剤として、例えば、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン、ベンゾインエチルエーテル、ベンジルジメチルケタール、2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチル-1-フェニルプロパン-1-オン、2,2-ジメトキシ-1,2-ジフェニルエタン-1-オン、2,2-ジメトキシ-2-フェニルアセトフェノン、1-(4-イソプロピルフェニル)-2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルプロパン-1-オン、2-メチル-1-(4-メチルチオフェニル)-2-モルフォリノプロパン-1-オンを併用してもよい。
水素引き抜き型の光ラジカル重合開始剤としては、例えば、ベンゾフェノン、4-フェニルベンゾフェノン、イソフタルフェノン、4-ベンゾイル-4’-メチル-ジフェニルスルフィドが挙げられる。分子開裂型の光ラジカル重合開始剤と水素引き抜き型の光ラジカル重合開始剤とを併用してもよい。
光ラジカル重合開始剤は、市販品として入手することもできる。そのような市販品としては、IGM resin社製のOmnirad(登録商標。以下同様。) TPO-H、Omnirad TPO-L、Omnirad 819等のアシルホスフィンオキサイド化合物;Omnirad 651、Omnirad 184、Omnirad 1173、Omnirad 2959、Omnirad 127、Omnirad 907、Omnirad 369、Omnirad 369E、Omnirad 379EG等のアルキルフェノン系化合物;Omnirad MBF、「Omnirad 754」等の分子内水素引き抜き型化合物;BASFジャパン社製のIrgacure(登録商標。以下同様。) OXE01、Irgacure OXE02、Irgacure OXE03、Irgacure OXE04、常州強力電子新材料社製のTR-PBG-304、TR-PBG-305、(株)ADEKA製のNCI-831、NCI-930等のオキシムエステル系化合物が挙げられる。
オキシムエステル系化合物としてはこれらの他に、例えば、特表2004-534797号公報に記載の化合物、特開2000-80068号公報に記載の化合物、国際公開第2012/45736号に記載の化合物、国際公開第2015/36910号に記載の化合物、特開2006-36750号公報に記載の化合物、特開2008-179611号公報に記載の化合物、国際公開第2009/131189号に記載の化合物、特表2012-526185号公報に記載の化合物、特表2012-519191号公報に記載の化合物、国際公開第2006/18973号に記載の化合物、国際公開第2008/78678号に記載の化合物、特開2011-132215号公報に記載の化合物等のオキシムエステル化合物が挙げられる。
光カチオン重合開始剤としては、トリフェニルスルフォニウムヘキサフルオロアンチモネート、トリフェニルスルフォニウムヘキサフルオロフォスフェート等のポリアリールスルフォニウム塩;ジフェニルヨードニウムヘキサフルオロアンチモネート、P-ノニルフェニルヨードニウムヘキサフルオロアンチモネート等のポリアリールヨードニウム塩等が挙げられる。
光カチオン重合開始剤は、市販品として入手することもできる。そのような市販品としては、サンアプロ(株)製のCPI-100P、IGM resin社製のOmnicat(登録商標。以下同様。) 270、BASFジャパン社製のIrgacure 290等のスルホニウム塩系光カチオン重合開始剤;IGM resin社製のOmnicat 250等のヨードニウム塩系光カチオン重合開始剤等が挙げられる。
上記光重合開始剤の含有量は、組成物の硬化性の観点から、重合性モノマー100質量%に対し、0.1質量%以上が好ましく、0.5質量%以上がより好ましく、1質量%がより一層好ましい。また、その含有量の上限は、組成物の保存安定性の観点から、40質量%以下が好ましく、30質量%以下がより好ましく、20質量%以下がより一層好ましい。
上記(C)バインダーの含有量は、固形分中70~99.8質量%が好ましく、85~99.8質量%がより好ましく、90~99質量%がより一層好ましい。
また、本発明のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物は、上記(A)~(C)成分の他に、必要に応じて光安定剤、抗酸化剤、界面活性剤、難燃剤、透明化剤、紫外線吸収剤、架橋剤、充填剤等の公知の各種添加剤を含んでいてもよい。
界面活性剤としては、フッ素系界面活性剤が好ましく、ノニオン性フッ素系界面活性剤がより好ましい。
その具体例としては、ネオス(株)製のフタージェントシリーズ、212M、215M、250、222F、FTX-218、DFX-18等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
界面活性剤を用いる場合、その配合量に特に制限はないが、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物の固形分中0.01~1質量%が好ましく、0.01~0.5質量%がより好ましい。

さらに、本発明のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物は、必要に応じて溶媒を含んでいてもよい。その具体例としては、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン、エチルベンゼン、クロロベンゼン等の芳香族またはハロゲン化芳香族炭化水素溶媒;n-ヘプタン、n-ヘキサン、シクロヘキサン等の脂肪族炭化水素類;ジエチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、1,2-ジメトキシエタン等のエーテル系溶媒;アセトン、メチルエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン、シクロヘキサノン、シクロペンタノン等のケトン系溶媒;酢酸エチル、酢酸ノルマルヘキシル、乳酸エチル、γ-ブチロラクトン、プロピレンカーボネート、マロン酸ジイソプロピル等のエステル系溶媒;塩化メチレン、ジクロロメタン、1,2-ジクロロエタン、クロロホルム等のハロゲン化炭化水素溶媒;N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド、N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、1,3-ジメチル-2-イミダゾリジノン等のアミド系溶媒;メタノール、エタノール、イソプロパノール、n-プロパノール、シクロヘキサノール、ジアセトンアルコール、2-ベンゾオキシエタノール等のアルコール系溶媒;エチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、エチレングリコールジグリシジルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジメチルエーテル、トリエチレングリコールジメチルエーテル、トリエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテルアセテート、ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテルアセテート、ジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート等のグリコールエーテル系溶媒;エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、へキシレングリコール、3-オクチレングリコール、ジエチレングリコール、ジプロピレングリコール、トリエチレングリコール、トリプロピレングリコール、1,3-ブタンジオール、2,3-ブタンジオール、1,4-ブタンジオール等のグリコール系溶媒などの有機溶媒が挙げられ、これらは1種単独で用いても、2種以上組み合わせて用いてもよい。
ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物が溶媒を含む場合、ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物の固形分濃度は、目的とする波長変換膜の厚みや塗布方法等に応じて変動するものであるため一概には規定できないが、通常10~70質量%であり、好ましくは20~60質量%である。
上記ディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物の25℃の粘度の上限は、10,000mPa・s以下であり、1,000mPa・s以下が好ましい。下限は、保存安定性を考慮すると、5mPa・s以上が好ましく、10mPa・s以上がより好ましい。
なお、本発明において、粘度とはEMS粘度計による測定値を意味する。

本発明のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物は、上述した(A)~(C)成分、必要に応じて用いられる界面活性剤等のその他の添加剤、および溶媒を任意の順序で混合して調製できる。
上述した本発明のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物を、例えば基材上に塗布し、必要に応じて加熱等により溶媒を蒸発させ、さらに必要に応じて活性エネルギー線(例えば紫外光)の照射を行うことで波長変換膜を得ることができる。
塗布方法としては、例えば、リバースロールコーター、ブレードコーター、スリットダイコーター、ダイレクトグラビアコーター、オフセットグラビアコーター、キスコーター、ナチュラルロールコーター、エアーナイフコーター、ロールブレードコーター、バリバーロールブレードコーター、トゥーストリームコーター、ロッドコーター、ワイヤーバーコーター、アプリケーター、ディップコーター、カーテンコーター、スピンコーター、ナイフコーター、インクジェット等による方法が挙げられる。
塗布方法としては、例えば、リバースロールコーター、ブレードコーター、スリットダイコーター、ダイレクトグラビアコーター、オフセットグラビアコーター、キスコーター、ナチュラルロールコーター、エアーナイフコーター、ロールブレードコーター、バリバーロールブレードコーター、トゥーストリームコーター、ロッドコーター、ワイヤーバーコーター、アプリケーター、ディップコーター、カーテンコーター、スピンコーター、ナイフコーター、インクジェット等による方法が挙げられる。
加熱は、例えば、オーブンやホットプレート等の一般的な加熱装置を用いて行うことができる。
加熱条件は、膜を形成できる限り特に制限はないが、60~200℃で5分~2時間が好ましく、80~200℃で15分~1時間がより好ましい。なお、段階的に加熱硬化させてもよい。

紫外光の照射は、膜を形成できる限り特に制限はないが、水銀ランプ、メタルハライドランプ、キセノンランプ、LED等の光源を用い、また必要に応じてバンドパスフィルターを組み合わせて目的とする露光波長以外の光を除去した光を照射することができる。照射する光の波長は、200~440nmが好ましく、300~400nmの波長の光を含むことが特に好ましい。露光量は、10~4,000mJ/cm2が好ましい。
前述の加熱工程と紫外光の露光工程は任意の順番で組み合わせて行ってもよい。例えば、加熱を行ってから紫外光の照射を行ってもよく、紫外光の照射を行ってから加熱を行ってもよく、加熱を行ってから紫外光の照射を行い、その後さらに加熱を行ってもよい。
波長変換膜の厚さは、特に制限はないが、通常1~1,000μm、好ましくは3~500μm、より好ましくは5~100μmである。
波長変換膜のヘイズ値は、特に制限されるものではないが、入射光を膜内で散乱させることにより蛍光体が吸収することのできる光の量を多くする観点から、好ましくは18%以上、より好ましくは30%以上、より好ましくは40%以上である。ヘイズ値の上限は、特に限定されないが、通常95%程度である。なお、本発明においてヘイズ値は、ASTM D1003-61に従って測定される値である。また、本発明において、上記ヘイズ値の測定条件としては、例えば、酸化チタン粒子の含有量を3.16~4.74質量%とした組成物から形成される膜厚6μmの膜について測定する条件が挙げられる。
波長変換膜のヘイズ値は、特に制限されるものではないが、入射光を膜内で散乱させることにより蛍光体が吸収することのできる光の量を多くする観点から、好ましくは18%以上、より好ましくは30%以上、より好ましくは40%以上である。ヘイズ値の上限は、特に限定されないが、通常95%程度である。なお、本発明においてヘイズ値は、ASTM D1003-61に従って測定される値である。また、本発明において、上記ヘイズ値の測定条件としては、例えば、酸化チタン粒子の含有量を3.16~4.74質量%とした組成物から形成される膜厚6μmの膜について測定する条件が挙げられる。
上記基材としては、この種の膜を形成するための下地基材として用いられているものから適宜選択して用いればよいが、400~800nmの可視領域の光の透過率が50%以上のガラス基板やポリマー板が好ましい。
ガラスの具体例としては、ソーダ石灰ガラス、バリウム・ストロンチウム含有ガラス、鉛ガラス、アルミノケイ酸ガラス、ホウケイ酸ガラス、バリウムホウケイ酸ガラス、石英等が挙げられる。
ポリマーの具体例としては、ポリカーボネート、アクリル、ポリエチレンテレフタレート,ポリエーテルサルファイド、ポリスルフォン等が挙げられる。
ガラスの具体例としては、ソーダ石灰ガラス、バリウム・ストロンチウム含有ガラス、鉛ガラス、アルミノケイ酸ガラス、ホウケイ酸ガラス、バリウムホウケイ酸ガラス、石英等が挙げられる。
ポリマーの具体例としては、ポリカーボネート、アクリル、ポリエチレンテレフタレート,ポリエーテルサルファイド、ポリスルフォン等が挙げられる。
本発明の組成物により得られる波長変換膜は、波長変換効率に優れているため、マイクロLEDディスプレイ、有機ELディスプレイ、液晶ディスプレイ等のディスプレイや照明等の波長変換膜(色変換膜)として好適に用いることができる。
以下、合成例、実施例および比較例を挙げて、本発明をより具体的に説明するが、本発明は下記の実施例に限定されるものではない。

[合成例1]ポリマー溶液の調製
MMA80.0g、MAA20.0g、AIBN2.5gをCPN190.0gに溶解し、90℃にて20時間反応させることによりアクリル重合体溶液P1(固形分濃度30質量%)を得た。得られたアクリル重合体のMnは9,900、Mwは17,078であった。

[合成例2]光散乱性粒子1の調製
5リットルの容器に純水1,429.1gを入れ、35質量%水酸化テトラエチルアンモニウム水溶液315.6g、グリシン39.4g、チタンテトライソプロポキシド213.2g(TiO2換算で59.9g含有)を攪拌下に添加した。得られた混合溶液は、水酸化テトラエチルアンモニウム/チタン原子のモル比1.00、グリシン/チタン原子のモル比0.70であった。該混合溶液を、90℃で2時間保持した後、95℃で5時間保持し、チタン混合溶液を調製した。調製後のチタン混合溶液のpH11.2、TiO2濃度3.0質量%であった。3リットルのSUS製オートクレーブ容器に上記チタン混合溶液1,500gを投入し、150℃で5時間水熱処理を行った。室温に冷却後、取り出された水熱処理後の溶液は乳白色の酸化チタンコロイド粒子の水分散液であった。得られた分散液は、pH12.2、TiO2濃度3.0質量%、動的光散乱粒子径141nm、透過型電子顕微鏡(JEM-F200、日本電子(株)製)による観察では、平均一次粒子径94nmの俵状粒子が観察された。なお、動的光散乱法の測定装置には、Malvern Instruments Ltd製のゼータサイザーを使用した。
次いで、得られた酸化チタンコロイド粒子の水分散液を限外ろ過装置にて注水洗浄を行い、過剰な電解質を除去し、TiO2濃度3.0質量%の分散液を得た。得られた酸化チタンコロイド粒子を、核となる酸化チタン粒子とした。
5リットルの容器に純水1,429.1gを入れ、35質量%水酸化テトラエチルアンモニウム水溶液315.6g、グリシン39.4g、チタンテトライソプロポキシド213.2g(TiO2換算で59.9g含有)を攪拌下に添加した。得られた混合溶液は、水酸化テトラエチルアンモニウム/チタン原子のモル比1.00、グリシン/チタン原子のモル比0.70であった。該混合溶液を、90℃で2時間保持した後、95℃で5時間保持し、チタン混合溶液を調製した。調製後のチタン混合溶液のpH11.2、TiO2濃度3.0質量%であった。3リットルのSUS製オートクレーブ容器に上記チタン混合溶液1,500gを投入し、150℃で5時間水熱処理を行った。室温に冷却後、取り出された水熱処理後の溶液は乳白色の酸化チタンコロイド粒子の水分散液であった。得られた分散液は、pH12.2、TiO2濃度3.0質量%、動的光散乱粒子径141nm、透過型電子顕微鏡(JEM-F200、日本電子(株)製)による観察では、平均一次粒子径94nmの俵状粒子が観察された。なお、動的光散乱法の測定装置には、Malvern Instruments Ltd製のゼータサイザーを使用した。
次いで、得られた酸化チタンコロイド粒子の水分散液を限外ろ過装置にて注水洗浄を行い、過剰な電解質を除去し、TiO2濃度3.0質量%の分散液を得た。得られた酸化チタンコロイド粒子を、核となる酸化チタン粒子とした。
一方、珪酸ナトリウム水溶液(JIS3号珪酸ソーダ、SiO2として34質量%含有、富士化学(株)製)27.9gを純水27.9gにて希釈した後、スズ酸ナトリウム・3水和物(SnO2として55質量%含有、昭和化工(株)製)8.6gを添加し、攪拌下で溶解し、珪酸-スズ酸ナトリウム水溶液を得た。得られた珪酸-スズ酸ナトリウム水溶液64.4gを純水411gで希釈し、水素型陽イオン交換樹脂(アンバーライト(登録商標)IR-120B)を充填したカラムに通液することにより、二酸化ケイ素-酸化第二スズ複合酸化物コロイド粒子の水分散液570gを得た。得られた水分散液はpH2.7、全金属酸化物濃度2.5質量%であった。次いで、得られた二酸化ケイ素-酸化第二スズ複合酸化物コロイド粒子の水分散液にジイソプロピルアミンを2.9g添加した。得られた分散液はアルカリ性の二酸化ケイ素-酸化第二スズ複合酸化物コロイド粒子の水分散液であり、pH8.2、一次粒子径5nm以下のコロイド粒子であった。得られた二酸化ケイ素-酸化第二スズ複合酸化物コロイド粒子を被覆粒子とした。
前記核となる酸化チタン粒子の水分散液1,200gに、調製した二酸化ケイ素-酸化第二スズ複合酸化物からなる被覆粒子144.0gを添加した後、温度95℃で2時間保持し、変性酸化チタンコロイド粒子の水分散液を得た。その後、得られた変性酸化チタンコロイド粒子の水分散液を、水素型陽イオン交換樹脂(アンバーライト(登録商標)IR-120B)を充填したカラムに通し、酸性の変性酸化チタンコロイド粒子の水分散液を得た。次いで、得られた水分散液をナス型フラスコ付きエバポレーターに投入して濃縮し、メタノールを添加しながら590Torrで水を留去することにより、変性酸化チタンコロイド粒子のメタノール分散液129.8gを得た。得られたメタノール分散液は、粘度1.2mPa・s、pH6.4(分散液と同質量の水で希釈)、固形分濃度30.5質量%、水分0.8質量%、動的光散乱粒子径140nm、透過型電子顕微鏡観察では、平均一次粒子径101nmの俵状粒子が観察された。
[実施例1~10、比較例1~9]波長変換膜形成用組成物の調製およびその評価
(1)波長変換膜形成用組成物の調製
表1に示す組成で各成分を混合し、得られた混合物を孔径が5.0μmのポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)フィルターを用いて濾過することで、波長変換膜形成用組成物を調製した。なお、表1および表2中の組成比は固形分での質量比を表すものとする。
(1)波長変換膜形成用組成物の調製
表1に示す組成で各成分を混合し、得られた混合物を孔径が5.0μmのポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)フィルターを用いて濾過することで、波長変換膜形成用組成物を調製した。なお、表1および表2中の組成比は固形分での質量比を表すものとする。
(2)評価1:粘度の評価
実施例1~10および比較例1~9の波長変換膜形成用組成物は、以下に示す条件の測定を実施し、これを各波長変換膜形成用組成物の粘度とした。
装置:EMS-1000 京都電子工業(株)製
測定温度:25℃
プローブサイズ:2.0mmΦ
回転数:500rpm
測定時間:5秒
実施例1~10および比較例1~9の波長変換膜形成用組成物は、以下に示す条件の測定を実施し、これを各波長変換膜形成用組成物の粘度とした。
装置:EMS-1000 京都電子工業(株)製
測定温度:25℃
プローブサイズ:2.0mmΦ
回転数:500rpm
測定時間:5秒
(3)評価2:膜特性の評価
実施例1~7、9および10、ならびに比較例1、2および4~8の波長変換膜形成用組成物を石英基板上にスピンコーターを用いて塗布した後、110℃で120秒間、ホットプレート上でプリベークを行い、膜厚6μmの塗膜試料を得た。その後、実施例1~6、9および比較例1、2、4~6、9の塗膜試料については160℃で60分間のポストベークを行った。実施例7、比較例7の塗膜試料については120℃で60分間のポストベークを行った。
実施例8、ならびに比較例3および9の波長変換膜形成用組成物を無アルカリガラス基板上にバーコーターを用いて塗布した後、バッチ式UV照射装置(高圧水銀灯2kW×1灯)(アイグラフィックス(株)製)により、365nmにおける露光量が1000mJ/cm2の紫外線を前記樹脂膜の全面に照射することで、前記無アルカリガラス基板上に硬化膜を形成した。
得られた塗膜試料について、日本電色工業(株)製濁度計NDH5000を用いて、ASTM D1003-61に即した測定方法でヘイズ値を測定した。
実施例1~7、9および10、ならびに比較例1、2および4~8の波長変換膜形成用組成物を石英基板上にスピンコーターを用いて塗布した後、110℃で120秒間、ホットプレート上でプリベークを行い、膜厚6μmの塗膜試料を得た。その後、実施例1~6、9および比較例1、2、4~6、9の塗膜試料については160℃で60分間のポストベークを行った。実施例7、比較例7の塗膜試料については120℃で60分間のポストベークを行った。
実施例8、ならびに比較例3および9の波長変換膜形成用組成物を無アルカリガラス基板上にバーコーターを用いて塗布した後、バッチ式UV照射装置(高圧水銀灯2kW×1灯)(アイグラフィックス(株)製)により、365nmにおける露光量が1000mJ/cm2の紫外線を前記樹脂膜の全面に照射することで、前記無アルカリガラス基板上に硬化膜を形成した。
得られた塗膜試料について、日本電色工業(株)製濁度計NDH5000を用いて、ASTM D1003-61に即した測定方法でヘイズ値を測定した。
次に、塗膜試料をシーシーエス(株)製青色LEDライト(発光ピーク波長450nm)の上に重ね、LEDライトを点灯し、塗膜試料を介して発せられた光を、ウシオ電機(株)製分光放射照度計USR-45を用いて測定し、結果(1)とした。
同様に、塗膜試料を除きLEDライトのみから発せられた光を同様に測定し、結果(2)とした。得られた分光放射照度スペクトルから、結果(2)の480nm以下の波長の光の光子数を「励起光光子数」とした。同様に、結果(1)の480nm以下の波長の光の光子数を「透過光光子数」とした。同様に結果(1)の480nmを超える波長の光の光子数を「発光光子数」とした。
以下の式により「青色光吸収率」および「変換効率」を算出した。
青色光吸収率 = (励起光光子数 - 透過光光子数) ÷ 励起光光子数
変換効率 = 発光光子数 ÷ 励起光光子数
同様に、塗膜試料を除きLEDライトのみから発せられた光を同様に測定し、結果(2)とした。得られた分光放射照度スペクトルから、結果(2)の480nm以下の波長の光の光子数を「励起光光子数」とした。同様に、結果(1)の480nm以下の波長の光の光子数を「透過光光子数」とした。同様に結果(1)の480nmを超える波長の光の光子数を「発光光子数」とした。
以下の式により「青色光吸収率」および「変換効率」を算出した。
青色光吸収率 = (励起光光子数 - 透過光光子数) ÷ 励起光光子数
変換効率 = 発光光子数 ÷ 励起光光子数
さらに、実施例1~3、9および10、ならびに比較例4の塗膜試料の「変換効率」を、比較例4の塗膜試料の「変換効率」で割った数値、実施例4、比較例5の塗膜試料の「変換効率」を、比較例5の塗膜試料の「変換効率」で割った数値、実施例5、比較例6の塗膜試料の「変換効率」を、比較例6の塗膜試料の「変換効率」で割った数値、実施例6、比較例7の塗膜試料の「変換効率」を、比較例7の塗膜試料の「変換効率」で割った数値、実施例7、比較例8の塗膜試料の「変換効率」を、比較例8の塗膜試料の「変換効率」で割った数値、実施例8、比較例9の塗膜試料の「変換効率」を、比較例9の塗膜試料の「変換効率」で割った数値を「変換効率増強度」とした。得られた変換効率増強度に基づいて、塗膜試料の膜特性を評価した。判定基準は以下のとおりである。得られた結果を表3および表4に示す。
〈判定基準〉
A:変換効率増強度が2.5より大きい
B:変換効率増強度が2.1より大きく2.5以下
C:変換効率増強度が2.1以下
〈判定基準〉
A:変換効率増強度が2.5より大きい
B:変換効率増強度が2.1より大きく2.5以下
C:変換効率増強度が2.1以下
(4)評価3:製膜性の評価
評価2にて、実施例1~10および比較例1~9の波長変換膜形成用組成物を基板上に塗布した際、目視にて塗膜の状態を確認し、製膜性を評価した。判定基準は以下のとおりである。得られた結果を表3および表4に示す。
〈判定基準〉
A:均一な塗膜が得られ、製膜性が良好
B:塗布ムラが発生し、製膜性が悪い
なお、比較例3の塗膜試料は、膜表面に放射線状の塗布ムラが目視で確認できるほど著しく発現しており、製膜性が極めて悪かった。したがって、比較例3は評価2の「変換効率」測定が不可能であった。
評価2にて、実施例1~10および比較例1~9の波長変換膜形成用組成物を基板上に塗布した際、目視にて塗膜の状態を確認し、製膜性を評価した。判定基準は以下のとおりである。得られた結果を表3および表4に示す。
〈判定基準〉
A:均一な塗膜が得られ、製膜性が良好
B:塗布ムラが発生し、製膜性が悪い
なお、比較例3の塗膜試料は、膜表面に放射線状の塗布ムラが目視で確認できるほど著しく発現しており、製膜性が極めて悪かった。したがって、比較例3は評価2の「変換効率」測定が不可能であった。
(5)評価4:保存安定性の評価
実施例1~10および比較例1~3の波長変換膜形成用組成物を25℃で1週間保管し、保管中の組成物の状態(酸化チタン粒子の沈降の有無)を目視で確認した。判定基準は以下のとおりである。得られた結果を表3および表4に示す。
〈判定基準〉
A:1週間経過時点までに沈降が見られない
B:1日経過後に沈降が見られず、2日経過後に沈降が見られた
C:1日経過後に沈降が見られた
実施例1~10および比較例1~3の波長変換膜形成用組成物を25℃で1週間保管し、保管中の組成物の状態(酸化チタン粒子の沈降の有無)を目視で確認した。判定基準は以下のとおりである。得られた結果を表3および表4に示す。
〈判定基準〉
A:1週間経過時点までに沈降が見られない
B:1日経過後に沈降が見られず、2日経過後に沈降が見られた
C:1日経過後に沈降が見られた
(6)評価5:全光線反射率の評価
評価2と同様の方法で得られた塗膜試料について、紫外線可視分光光度計((株)島津製作所製UV-2600)を用いて波長365nmにおける全光線反射率を測定した。得られた全光線反射率に基づいて、塗膜試料の膜特性を評価した。判定基準は以下のとおりである。得られた結果を表3および表4に示す。
〈判定基準〉
A:全光線反射率が15%以下
B:全光線反射率が15%より大きい
評価2と同様の方法で得られた塗膜試料について、紫外線可視分光光度計((株)島津製作所製UV-2600)を用いて波長365nmにおける全光線反射率を測定した。得られた全光線反射率に基づいて、塗膜試料の膜特性を評価した。判定基準は以下のとおりである。得られた結果を表3および表4に示す。
〈判定基準〉
A:全光線反射率が15%以下
B:全光線反射率が15%より大きい
表3および表4に示したように、本発明の要件を満たす実施例1~10では、いずれも評価2における変換効率増強度が高く、評価4における保存安定性が良好であり、変換効率と保存安定性の両立性が見られた。これに対し、本発明の要件を満たさない比較例1~9では、いずれも評価2における変換効率増強度が低いか、または、評価4における保存安定性が悪く、変換効率と保存安定性の両立性が見られなかった。さらに、比較例3は、粘度が10,143mPa・sであり、本発明の要件を満たさないことから、製膜性が極めて悪く、塗膜物性の評価が困難であった。
Claims (6)
- (A)蛍光体と(B)酸化チタン粒子と(C)バインダーとを含有し、
上記(B)酸化チタン粒子は、その表面が無機化合物で被覆されていてもよく、その平均粒子径が50nm超~200nm未満であり、
25℃の粘度が10,000mPa・s以下であるディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。 - 上記(B)酸化チタン粒子の平均粒子径が、60~190nmである請求項1記載のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
- 上記(B)酸化チタン粒子が、該酸化チタン粒子の表面が被覆されていない粒子である請求項1または2記載のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
- 上記(B)酸化チタン粒子の含有量が、固形分中3~10質量%である請求項1~3のいずれか1項記載のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
- 上記(A)蛍光体が、有機色素である請求項1~4のいずれか1項記載のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
- 上記組成物から形成される膜のヘイズ値が18%以上である請求項1~5のいずれか1項記載のディスプレイ用波長変換膜形成用組成物。
