本開示は、光学部材用モノマー、光学部材用重合性組成物、硬化物、眼鏡レンズ及び光学部材用モノマーの製造方法に関する。
眼鏡レンズに用いられる光学部材用モノマーとして、エピチオ化合物が知られている。エピチオ化合物を重合して硬化させることで、透明性が高く、高屈折率及び高アッベ数の樹脂が得られる(例えば、特許文献1)。
例えば、特許文献1に示されるエピチオ化合物を含む光学部材用重合性組成物を熱重合すると、硬化が不十分となり軟質な固体が得られることがあり、重合性に改善が求められることがある。
本開示の一実施形態は、重合性に優れる光学部材用モノマー、当該モノマーを含む光学部材用重合性組成物、その硬化物、当該硬化物を含む眼鏡レンズ及び光学部材用モノマーの製造方法に関する。
本発明者は、所定範囲内のpHを示す光学部材用モノマーを用いることで、重合性が向上することを見出した。

上述の実施形態によれば、重合性に優れる光学部材用モノマーが得られる。モノマーの重合性に優れることで、硬化後のモノマー組成物の硬度を向上させることができる等の効果を奏する。本願明細書の実施例においては、重合性の評価指標の一態様として、熱重合後の硬度を示しているが、他のモノマー、重合条件などにより硬度への影響もあり、絶対的な評価ではなく、相対的に硬度に相違が表れているため、重合性が向上するものと判断される。

本実施形態に係る光学部材用モノマーにおける化合物(1)の含有量(純度ともいう)は、光学部材用モノマー全量に対して、好ましくは90質量%以上であり、より好ましくは95質量%以上であり、更に好ましくは98質量%以上であり、更により好ましくは99質量%以上である。化合物(1)の含有量は、その上限は特に限定されないが、光学部材用モノマー全量に対して、100質量%以下であってもよい。
(pH)
本実施形態に係る光学部材用モノマーは、下記pH測定方法により得られるpHが4.0~7.5である。pHが当該範囲であることで、優れた重合性を示す光学部材用モノマーが得られる。pHは、好ましくは4.3~7.5である。pHが4.3~7.5の範囲であることで、重合性がより向上し、更に白濁及び黄変等の着色が抑制される。pHは、重合性をより向上させる観点、白濁及び着色をより抑制する観点から、より好ましくは4.4~7.0であり、更に好ましくは4.5~7.0であり、更に好ましくは4.6~7.0である。
本実施形態に係る光学部材用モノマーは、下記pH測定方法により得られるpHが4.0~7.5である。pHが当該範囲であることで、優れた重合性を示す光学部材用モノマーが得られる。pHは、好ましくは4.3~7.5である。pHが4.3~7.5の範囲であることで、重合性がより向上し、更に白濁及び黄変等の着色が抑制される。pHは、重合性をより向上させる観点、白濁及び着色をより抑制する観点から、より好ましくは4.4~7.0であり、更に好ましくは4.5~7.0であり、更に好ましくは4.6~7.0である。
(pH測定方法)
試料80gと、トルエン80mlと、水250mlとを分液ロート内で混合し、水相を分離し、当該水相のpHを測定する。
上述の試料とは、光学部材用モノマーである。
pHの測定は、25℃にて、pH計(例えば、HORIBA社製、型番:F52、ガラス玉電極(水溶液系、型番:9615S-10D))にて測定する。

<化合物(2)の製造工程>
化合物(2)の製造工程は、例えば、エピハロヒドリンと硫黄系金属化合物とを反応させ化合物(2)を得る工程が挙げられる。
化合物(2)の製造工程は、例えば、エピハロヒドリンと硫黄系金属化合物とを反応させ化合物(2)を得る工程が挙げられる。
エピハロヒドリンとしては、例えば、エピクロルヒドリンが挙げられる。
硫黄系金属化合物としては、例えば、水硫化金属、硫化金属及び多硫化金属が挙げられる。金属としては、例えばアルカリ金属が挙げられる。これら中でも水硫化金属が好ましく、水硫化ナトリウム又は水硫化カリウムがより好ましく、水硫化ナトリウムが更に好ましい。
エピハロヒドリン/硫黄系金属化合物のモル比は、好ましくは5~20であり、より好ましくは5~15であり、更に好ましくは5~10である。ここで、エピハロヒドリン/硫黄系金属化合物のモル比は、エピハロヒドリンの仕込み量と硫黄系金属化合物の最終的な添加量とのモル比を意味する。
エピハロヒドリンに対して、硫黄系金属化合物を添加することが好ましい。硫黄系金属化合物を添加する際のエピハロヒドリンの温度は、-5~30℃が好ましい。
溶媒は、使用しても使用しなくてもよいが、好ましくは溶媒を用いる。
溶媒としては、例えば、水、アルコール、エーテル、脂肪族炭化水素、芳香族炭化水素、及びハロゲン化炭化水素が挙げられる。これらの中でも、水又はアルコールが好ましく、アルコールがより好ましく、メタノールがさらに好ましい。

上記のエピハロヒドリンと硫黄系金属化合物を反応させた後、当該反応で得られた反応生成物に塩基性化合物を添加して反応させることが好ましい。
塩基性化合物としては、例えば、アミン、アルカリ金属塩、アルカリ土類金属塩が挙げられる。これらの中でも、アルカリ金属塩又はアルカリ土類金属塩が好ましい。アルカリ金属塩としては、例えば、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カリウム、炭酸水素ナトリウム、炭酸水素カリウム、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウムが挙げられる。アルカリ土類金属塩としては、例えば、炭酸マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化カルシウムが挙げられる。
塩基性化合物としては、例えば、アミン、アルカリ金属塩、アルカリ土類金属塩が挙げられる。これらの中でも、アルカリ金属塩又はアルカリ土類金属塩が好ましい。アルカリ金属塩としては、例えば、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カリウム、炭酸水素ナトリウム、炭酸水素カリウム、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウムが挙げられる。アルカリ土類金属塩としては、例えば、炭酸マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化カルシウムが挙げられる。
塩基性化合物は、塩基性化合物/硫黄系金属化合物のモル比が、好ましくは1.0~3.5、より好ましくは1.2~3.0、更に好ましくは1.5~3.0となるように添加することが好ましい。なお、ここで、塩基性化合物の添加量と先の反応での硫黄系金属化合物の添加量とのモル比を意味する。
塩基性化合物との反応において、溶媒は、使用しても使用しなくてもよいが、好ましくは溶媒を用いる。

反応終了後、有機溶媒を加えて化合物(2)を抽出することが好ましい。
有機溶媒としては、例えば、炭化水素、エーテル、脂肪族炭化水素、芳香族炭化水素、ハロゲン化炭化水素が挙げられる。これらの中でも、芳香族炭化水素、又はハロゲン化炭化水素が好ましく、トルエン、ベンゼン、キシレン、ジクロロメタン、及びクロロホルムがより好ましく、トルエンが更に好ましい。また、得られた有機相は、塩基性化合物を除去するために水洗することが好ましい。有機相は、水洗水のpHが、好ましくは10以下、更に好ましくは9以下になるまで水洗する。
このようにして得られた有機相から溶媒を留去することで、目的の化合物(2)が得られる。
有機溶媒としては、例えば、炭化水素、エーテル、脂肪族炭化水素、芳香族炭化水素、ハロゲン化炭化水素が挙げられる。これらの中でも、芳香族炭化水素、又はハロゲン化炭化水素が好ましく、トルエン、ベンゼン、キシレン、ジクロロメタン、及びクロロホルムがより好ましく、トルエンが更に好ましい。また、得られた有機相は、塩基性化合物を除去するために水洗することが好ましい。有機相は、水洗水のpHが、好ましくは10以下、更に好ましくは9以下になるまで水洗する。
このようにして得られた有機相から溶媒を留去することで、目的の化合物(2)が得られる。
<化合物(1)の製造工程>
化合物(1)の製造工程では、化合物(2)と硫黄化剤とを用いて化合物(1)が得られる。化合物(2)と硫黄化剤との反応により、化合物(2)のエポキシ基からエピチオ基が誘導される。
化合物(1)の製造工程では、化合物(2)と硫黄化剤とを用いて化合物(1)が得られる。化合物(2)と硫黄化剤との反応により、化合物(2)のエポキシ基からエピチオ基が誘導される。
硫化剤としては、例えば、チオ尿素、チオシアン酸塩が挙げられる。チオシアン酸塩としては、例えば、チオシアン酸ナトリウム、チオシアン酸カリウム、チオシアン酸アンモニウム、チオシアン酸カルシウム、チオシアン酸鉛が挙げられる。
反応における、化合物(2)のエポキシ基に対する硫黄化剤の使用量は、好ましくは1~5当量であり、より好ましくは1~3当量である。
反応温度は、例えば、10~60℃であるが、硫黄化剤としてチオ尿素を用いる場合、好ましくは10~30℃であり、硫黄化剤としてチオシアン酸塩を用いる場合、好ましくは30~60℃である。

化合物(1)の製造工程では、溶媒を使用することが好ましい。溶媒としては、例えば、芳香族系溶媒、脂肪族系溶媒、アルコールが挙げられる。芳香族系溶媒としては、例えば、トルエン、キシレン、クロロベンゼン、ジクロロベンゼン、ニトロベンゼンが挙げられる。脂肪族系溶媒としては、例えば、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム、ジクロロエタンが挙げられる。アルコールとしては、例えば、メタノール、エタノール、イソプロパノール、ブタノール、メトキシエタノール、エチレングリコール、グリセリンが挙げられる。
これらの中でも、芳香族系溶媒又はアルコールが好ましく、芳香族系溶媒及びアルコールの混合溶媒がより好ましく、トルエン及びメタノールの混合溶媒が更に好ましい。
芳香族系溶媒及びアルコールの混合溶媒において、芳香族系溶媒/アルコールの容量比は、好ましくは20/80~80/20であり、より好ましくは30/70~70/30であり、更に好ましくは40/60~60/40である。
これらの中でも、芳香族系溶媒又はアルコールが好ましく、芳香族系溶媒及びアルコールの混合溶媒がより好ましく、トルエン及びメタノールの混合溶媒が更に好ましい。
芳香族系溶媒及びアルコールの混合溶媒において、芳香族系溶媒/アルコールの容量比は、好ましくは20/80~80/20であり、より好ましくは30/70~70/30であり、更に好ましくは40/60~60/40である。
化合物(1)の製造工程では、反応系内のpHを調整する目的で、弱酸を加えてもよい。弱酸としては、例えば、酢酸、無水酢酸、リン酸、無水リン酸が挙げられる。弱酸の添加量としては、溶媒に対して、好ましくは0.1~10容量%であり、より好ましくは0.3~5容量%である。
(洗浄工程)
洗浄工程では、化合物(1)を上述のpH測定方法により得られるpHが4.0~7.5となるまで水で洗浄する。当該工程により、pHが4.0~7.5となるまで水で洗浄することにより、重合性に優れる化合物(1)を含む光学部材用モノマーが得られる。水で洗浄は、pHが、重合性に優れる光学部材用モノマーを得る観点から、好ましくは4.3~7.5、重合性をより向上させる観点、白濁及び着色をより抑制する観点から、より好ましくは4.4~7.0、更に好ましくは4.5~7.0、更に好ましくは4.6~7.0となるまで行われることが好ましい。
洗浄工程では、化合物(1)を上述のpH測定方法により得られるpHが4.0~7.5となるまで水で洗浄する。当該工程により、pHが4.0~7.5となるまで水で洗浄することにより、重合性に優れる化合物(1)を含む光学部材用モノマーが得られる。水で洗浄は、pHが、重合性に優れる光学部材用モノマーを得る観点から、好ましくは4.3~7.5、重合性をより向上させる観点、白濁及び着色をより抑制する観点から、より好ましくは4.4~7.0、更に好ましくは4.5~7.0、更に好ましくは4.6~7.0となるまで行われることが好ましい。
洗浄工程は、特に限定されないが、例えば、以下の工程をこの順に有する方法により行うことができる。
(i)化合物(1)の製造工程により得られた反応液に、芳香族系溶媒、及びアルカリ金属塩水溶液を加え、水相と有機相を分離する工程
(ii)有機相を酸性水溶液で洗浄する工程
(iii)有機相を水で洗浄する工程
(iv)有機相を炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液で洗浄する工程
(v)有機相を水で洗浄する工程
(i)化合物(1)の製造工程により得られた反応液に、芳香族系溶媒、及びアルカリ金属塩水溶液を加え、水相と有機相を分離する工程
(ii)有機相を酸性水溶液で洗浄する工程
(iii)有機相を水で洗浄する工程
(iv)有機相を炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液で洗浄する工程
(v)有機相を水で洗浄する工程
(ii)~(v)における洗浄とは、形成される水相と有機相とを分離することを意味する。
(ii)により有機相中に溶解している不純物を取り除き、且つ、有機相を弱酸性のpHとする。(ii)における酸性水溶液としては、例えば、希硫酸水溶液、希塩酸水溶液が挙げられる。酸性水溶液の濃度は、好ましくは0.1~3質量%であり、より好ましくは0.3~2質量%である。(ii)の洗浄の回数は、好ましくは1~4回であり、より好ましくは2又は3回である。
(iii)により有機相中に溶解している不純物を取り除く。(iii)における水としては、例えば、蒸留水、イオン交換水である。(iii)の洗浄の回数は、好ましくは1~10回であり、より好ましくは2~8回であり、更に好ましくは4~6回である。
(iv)により有機相中に溶解している不純物を取り除き、且つ、有機相を再度弱酸性のpHとする。炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液の濃度は、好ましくは0.001~0.1質量%であり、より好ましくは0.005~0.05質量%である。(iv)の洗浄の回数は、好ましくは1~3回であり、より好ましくは1回である。
(v)により有機相のpHを調整する。(v)における水としては、例えば、蒸留水、イオン交換水である。(v)の洗浄の回数は、好ましくは1~3回であり、より好ましくは1回である。
上述の操作の後、溶媒を留去することで目的の化合物(1)を含む光学部材用モノマーが得られる。溶媒を留去する前に、有機相と乾燥剤を混合しろ過をしてもよい。乾燥剤としては、例えば、硫酸ナトリウム、硫酸マグネシウムが挙げられる。
本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーの用途は、例えば、眼鏡レンズ(レンズ基材用材料)、プリズム、光ファイバー、情報記録基盤、フィルターが挙げられる。これらの用途の中でも、眼鏡レンズが好ましく、レンズ基材がより好ましい。
本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーは、単独又は他のモノマーと共に重合されエピスルフィド樹脂として用いられる。

(エピスルフィド樹脂)
エピスルフィド樹脂は、本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーを含む光学部材用重合性組成物(以下、単に「重合性組成物」ともいう)の硬化物である。
本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーの含有量は、重合性組成物中、好ましくは50質量%以上、より好ましくは60質量%以上、更に好ましくは70質量%以上、更に好ましくは80質量%以上、更に好ましくは90質量%以上である。本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーの含有量は、その上限は特に限定されないが、100質量%以下であってもよく、98質量%以下であってもよく、96質量%以下であってもよい。
エピスルフィド樹脂は、本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーを含む光学部材用重合性組成物(以下、単に「重合性組成物」ともいう)の硬化物である。
本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーの含有量は、重合性組成物中、好ましくは50質量%以上、より好ましくは60質量%以上、更に好ましくは70質量%以上、更に好ましくは80質量%以上、更に好ましくは90質量%以上である。本実施形態の光学部材用モノマーの含有量は、その上限は特に限定されないが、100質量%以下であってもよく、98質量%以下であってもよく、96質量%以下であってもよい。
重合性組成物は、他のモノマーを含んでいてもよい。他のモノマーとしては、例えば、他のエピチオ化合物、硫黄、ポリチオール化合物があげられる。
(他のエピチオ化合物)
エピチオ化合物とは、エピスルフィド基(エピチオ基)を有する化合物である。
他のエピチオ化合物としては、例えば、化合物(1)とは異なる直鎖又は分岐の脂肪族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物、脂環族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物、芳香族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物、ジチアン環骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物が挙げられる。
エピチオ化合物とは、エピスルフィド基(エピチオ基)を有する化合物である。
他のエピチオ化合物としては、例えば、化合物(1)とは異なる直鎖又は分岐の脂肪族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物、脂環族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物、芳香族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物、ジチアン環骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物が挙げられる。
化合物(1)とは異なる直鎖又は分岐の脂肪族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物としては、例えば、2-(2-β-エピチオプロピルチオエチルチオ)-1,3-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)プロパン、1,2-ビス〔(2-β-エピチオプロピルチオエチル)チオ〕-3-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)プロパン、テトラキス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)メタン、1,1,1-トリス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)プロパンが挙げられる。
脂環族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物としては、例えば、1,3-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキサン、1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキサン、1,3-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)シクロヘキサン、1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)シクロヘキサン、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキシル〕メタン、2,2-ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキシル〕プロパン、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)シクロヘキシル〕スルフィドが挙げられる。
芳香族骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物としては、例えば、1,3-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)ベンゼン、1,3-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)ベンゼン、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕メタン、2,2-ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕プロパン、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕スルフィド、ビス〔4-(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)フェニル〕スルフィン、4,4-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)ビフェニルが挙げられる。
ジチアン環骨格を有するエピスルフィド化合物としては、例えば、2,5-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオメチル)-1,4-ジチアン、2,5-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオエチルチオメチル)-1,4-ジチアン、2,5-ビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオエチル)-1,4-ジチアン、2,3,5-トリ(β-エピチオプロピルチオエチル)-1,4-ジチアンが挙げられる。
他のエピチオ化合物の含有量は、重合性組成物中、1~30質量%であってもよく、5~20質量%であってもよく、8~15質量%であってもよい。
重合性組成物は、エピチオ化合物との組合せで、硫黄又はポリチオール化合物を更に含有することが好ましい。
硫黄の含有量は、重合性組成物中、好ましくは1質量%以上、より好ましくは5~30質量%、更に好ましくは10~20質量%である。

ポリオール化合物とメルカプト基含有カルボン酸化合物とのエステル化合物において、ポリオール化合物としては、分子内に2個以上の水酸基を有する化合物が挙げられる。
ポリオール化合物としては、例えば、エチレングリコール、ジエチレングリコール、プロパンジオール、プロパントリオール、ブタンジオール、トリメチロールプロパン、ビス(2-ヒドロキシエチル)ジスルフィド、ペンタエリスリトール、ジペンタエリスリトールが挙げられる。
メルカプト基含有カルボン酸化合物としては、例えば、チオグリコール酸、メルカプトプロピオン酸、チオ乳酸化合物、チオサリチル酸が挙げられる。

脂環構造を有するポリチオール化合物としては、例えば、1,1-シクロヘキサンジチオール、1,2-シクロヘキサンジチオール、メチルシクロヘキサンジチオール、ビス(メルカプトメチル)シクロヘキサン、2-(2,2-ビス(メルカプトメチルチオ)エチル)-1,3-ジチエタン、2,5-ビス(メルカプトメチル)-1,4-ジチアン、4,8-ビス(メルカプトメチル)-1,3-ジチアンが挙げられる。
芳香環構造を有するポリチオール化合物としては、例えば、1,3-ジメルカプトベンゼン、1,4-ジメルカプトベンゼン、1,3-ビス(メルカプトメチル)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(メルカプトメチル)ベンゼン、1,3-ビス(メルカプトエチル)ベンゼン、1,4-ビス(メルカプトエチル)ベンゼン、1,3,5-トリメルカプトベンゼン、1,3,5-トリス(メルカプトメチル)ベンゼン、1,3,5-トリス(メルカプトエチル)ベンゼン、4,4’-ジメルカプトビフェニル、4,4’-ジメルカプトビベンジル、2,5-トルエンジチオール、1,5-ナフタレンジチオール、2,6-ナフタレンジチオール、2,7-ナフタレンジチオール、2,4-ジメチルベンゼン-1,3-ジチオール、4,5-ジメチルベンゼン-1,3-ジチオール、9,10-アントラセンジメタンチオール、1,3-ジ(p-メチルオキシフェニル)プロパン-2,2-ジチオール、1,3-ジフェニルプロパン-2,2-ジチオール、フェニルメタン-1,1-ジチオール、2,4-ジ(p-メルカプトフェニル)ペンタンが挙げられる。

エピチオ化合物と組合せて使用する場合、ポリチオール化合物の含有量は、重合性成分中、好ましくは2~50質量%であり、より好ましくは4~40質量%であり、更に好ましくは4~30質量%であり、更に好ましくは4~20質量%であり、更に好ましくは4~10質量%である。
重合性組成物は、好ましくは重合触媒を含む。重合触媒としては、例えば、含窒素化合物が挙げられる。
含窒素化合物としては、例えば、3級アミン、4級アンモニウム塩、イミダゾール系化合物、ピラゾール系化合物が挙げられる。3級アミンは、好ましくはヒンダードアミンである。
3級アミンとしては、例えば、トリエチルアミン、トリ-n-プロピルアミン、トリイソプロピルアミン、トリ-n-ブチルアミン、トリイソブチルアミン、N,N-ジメチルベンジルアミン、N-メチルモルホリン、N,N-ジメチルシクロヘキシルアミン、ペンタメチルジエチレントリアミン、ビス(2-ジメチルアミノエチル)エーテル、N-メチルモルホリン、N,N'-ジメチルピペラジン、N,N,N',N'-テトラメチルエチレンジアミン、1,4-ジアザビシクロ[2.2.2]オクタン(DABCO)が挙げられる。
ヒンダードアミンとしては、例えば、1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ピペリジノール、1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ヒドロキシエチル-4-ピペリジノール、メチル-1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ピペリジルセバケート、メチル-1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ピペリジルセバケートとビス(1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ピペリジル)セバケートとの混合物、ビス(1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ピペリジル)セバケート、ビス(2,2,6,6-テトラメチル-1-(オクチルオキシ)-4-ピペリジル)セバケート、ビス(1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ピペリジル)[[3,5-ビス(1,1-ジメチルエチル)-4-ヒドロキシフェニル]メチル]ブチルマロネート、テトラキス(1,2,2,6,6-ペンタメチル-4-ピペリジル)ブタン-1,2,3,4-テトラカルボキシレートが挙げられる。
4級アンモニウム塩としては、例えば、テトラエチルアンモニウムヒドロキシドが挙げられる。
イミダゾール系化合物としては、例えば、イミダゾール、1-メチル-2-メルカプト-1H-イミダゾール、1,2-ジメチルイミダゾール、ベンジルメチルイミダゾール、2-エチル-4-イミダゾールが挙げられる。
ピラゾール系化合物としては、例えば、ピラゾール、3,5-ジメチルピラゾールが挙げられる。
これらの中でも、ヒンダードアミン等の3級アミン、イミダゾール系化合物、ピラゾール系化合物が好ましく、イミダゾール系化合物がより好ましく、1-メチル-2-メルカプト-1H-イミダゾールが更に好ましい。
イミダゾール系化合物としては、例えば、イミダゾール、1-メチル-2-メルカプト-1H-イミダゾール、1,2-ジメチルイミダゾール、ベンジルメチルイミダゾール、2-エチル-4-イミダゾールが挙げられる。
ピラゾール系化合物としては、例えば、ピラゾール、3,5-ジメチルピラゾールが挙げられる。
これらの中でも、ヒンダードアミン等の3級アミン、イミダゾール系化合物、ピラゾール系化合物が好ましく、イミダゾール系化合物がより好ましく、1-メチル-2-メルカプト-1H-イミダゾールが更に好ましい。
重合性組成物における重合触媒の添加量は、重合性成分の合計量100質量部に対して、好ましくは0.001~2質量部、より好ましくは0.005~1質量部、更に好ましくは0.007~0.5質量部である。
〔眼鏡レンズ用レンズ基材の製造方法〕
眼鏡レンズ用レンズ基材は、特に限定されないが、例えば、
上述の重合性組成物を硬化させる工程、及び
硬化後の樹脂をアニール処理する工程
を含む製造方法により得られる。

重合は、注型重合法であることが好ましい。レンズ基材は、例えば、重合性組成物を、ガラス又は金属製のモールドと、テープ又はガスケットとを組み合わせたモールド型に注入して重合を行うことで得られる。
重合条件は、重合性組成物に応じて、適宜設定することができる。重合開始温度は、好ましくは0~50℃であり、より好ましくは10~40℃である。重合開始温度から昇温し、その後、加熱して硬化形成することが好ましい。例えば、昇温最高温度は、通常110~130℃である。
重合終了後、レンズ基材を離型して、アニール処理を行ってもよい。アニール処理の温度は、好ましくは100~150℃である。
以上、本実施形態によれば、重合性に優れる光学部材用モノマーが得られる。また、本実施形態によれば、硬化物の白濁及び黄変が抑制される光学部材用モノマーが得られる。このため、良好な重合性が得られ、更には白濁及び黄変が抑制されるため、眼鏡レンズ用レンズ基材などの光学材料として好適に用いられる。

以下、本実施形態を実施例及び比較例を用いてより具体的に説明する。なお、本発明は、以下の実施例によって何ら限定されるものではない。
[測定方法]

得られた光学部材用モノマー80gと、トルエン80mlと、水250mlとを分液ロート内で混合し、水相を分離した。得られた水相のpHを25℃にてpH計(HORIBA社製、型番:F52(ガラス玉電極、水溶液系、型番:9615S-10D))により測定した。

<実施例1>
(モノマーの製造)
エピクロルヒドリン46.4gに70質量%水硫化ナトリウム8.0gをメタノール20mlに溶解した液を0~5℃で攪拌しながらゆっくり滴下し、その後1時間攪拌した。次に水酸化ナトリウム14.0gを水40mlに溶解した液を5~10℃で攪拌しながら滴下し、その後1時間攪拌した。反応終了後トルエン200mlで抽出し、その後水200mlで水で洗浄を繰り返したのちトルエン溶媒を留去してビス(グリシジル)スルフィドを得た。
次に得られたビス(グリシジル)スルフィド36.6gとチオ尿素39.96gをトルエン43.3ml、メタノール43.3mlに溶解させ、酢酸0.52mlを加え、室温(25℃)で16時間反応させた。反応混合物にトルエン80mlを加え、NaClを0.5g溶解させた水を250ml加え、水相と有機相を分液ロートにて分離し、有機相を1質量%硫酸水溶液150mlで2回洗浄した。その後、有機相を水250mlで5回洗浄した。その後、有機相を0.01質量%炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液250mlで1回洗浄し、更に水250mlで洗浄した。有機相を無水硫酸ナトリウムで乾燥させ、溶媒を留去し、光学部材用モノマーとして、白色固体のビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドを得た。得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドのpHを測定し、表1に示した。
(モノマーの製造)
エピクロルヒドリン46.4gに70質量%水硫化ナトリウム8.0gをメタノール20mlに溶解した液を0~5℃で攪拌しながらゆっくり滴下し、その後1時間攪拌した。次に水酸化ナトリウム14.0gを水40mlに溶解した液を5~10℃で攪拌しながら滴下し、その後1時間攪拌した。反応終了後トルエン200mlで抽出し、その後水200mlで水で洗浄を繰り返したのちトルエン溶媒を留去してビス(グリシジル)スルフィドを得た。

(重合)
300mlのナスフラスコにビス-(β-エピチオプロピル)スルフィド79.92質量部、硫黄14.00質量部加え60℃に
加熱しながら脱気を60分間おこなった。後に1-メチル-2-メルカプト-1H-イミダゾールを0.467質量部加えて常圧の密閉状態で攪拌しながら60℃で予備反応を60分間おこなった後に20℃に冷却させ、ジブチルスズジクロライドを0.13質量部加えて予備反応を停止させた。
別容器にビス-(2-メルカプトエチル)スルフィド6.08質量部、酸性リン酸エステル「JP506H」(商品名、城北化学工業株式会社製)を0.001質量部、テトラブチルホスホニウムブロマイド0.020質量部を加えて混合溶解させたものを予備反応させたものに加えて20℃で攪拌しながら脱気をおこない均一液とした。
ついで3ミクロンのポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルターにて濾過しながらガラス製のサンプル瓶(容量6cc、内径14mm)の中に注入し、オーブン中で30℃から24時間かけて100℃に昇温して重合硬化させた樹脂を得た。得られた樹脂について、目視にて上記各種評価を行い結果を表1に示す。
300mlのナスフラスコにビス-(β-エピチオプロピル)スルフィド79.92質量部、硫黄14.00質量部加え60℃に
加熱しながら脱気を60分間おこなった。後に1-メチル-2-メルカプト-1H-イミダゾールを0.467質量部加えて常圧の密閉状態で攪拌しながら60℃で予備反応を60分間おこなった後に20℃に冷却させ、ジブチルスズジクロライドを0.13質量部加えて予備反応を停止させた。
別容器にビス-(2-メルカプトエチル)スルフィド6.08質量部、酸性リン酸エステル「JP506H」(商品名、城北化学工業株式会社製)を0.001質量部、テトラブチルホスホニウムブロマイド0.020質量部を加えて混合溶解させたものを予備反応させたものに加えて20℃で攪拌しながら脱気をおこない均一液とした。
ついで3ミクロンのポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルターにて濾過しながらガラス製のサンプル瓶(容量6cc、内径14mm)の中に注入し、オーブン中で30℃から24時間かけて100℃に昇温して重合硬化させた樹脂を得た。得られた樹脂について、目視にて上記各種評価を行い結果を表1に示す。
<実施例2>
実施例2では、得られた反応混合物にトルエン43.3mlを加え、NaClを0.5g溶解させた水を250ml加え、水相と有機相を分液ロートにて分離し、有機相を1質量%硫酸水溶液150mlで2回洗浄し、更に有機相を水250mlで5回洗浄し、その後の炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液による洗浄及び水による洗浄を行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1と同様にしてビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドを得た。得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドのpHを測定し、表1に示した。
得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドは、実施例1と同様の方法により重合し、各種評価を行い表1に示した。
実施例2では、得られた反応混合物にトルエン43.3mlを加え、NaClを0.5g溶解させた水を250ml加え、水相と有機相を分液ロートにて分離し、有機相を1質量%硫酸水溶液150mlで2回洗浄し、更に有機相を水250mlで5回洗浄し、その後の炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液による洗浄及び水による洗浄を行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1と同様にしてビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドを得た。得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドのpHを測定し、表1に示した。
得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドは、実施例1と同様の方法により重合し、各種評価を行い表1に示した。
<実施例3>
実施例3では、得られた反応混合物にトルエン43.3mlを加え、NaClを0.5g溶解させた水を250ml加え、水相と有機相を分液ロートにて分離し、有機相を1質量%硫酸水溶液150mlで2回洗浄し、更に有機相を水250mlで4回洗浄し、その後の炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液による洗浄及び水による洗浄を行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1と同様にしてビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドを得た。得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドのpHを測定し、表1に示した。

<実施例4>

<比較例1>
比較例1では、得られた反応混合物にトルエン43.3mlを加え、NaClを0.5g溶解させた水を250ml加え、水相と有機相を分液ロートにて分離し、有機相を1質量%硫酸水溶液150mlで2回洗浄し、更に有機相を水250mlで1回洗浄し、その後の炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液による洗浄及び水による洗浄を行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1と同様にしてビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドを得た。得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドのpHを測定し、表1に示した。

比較例1では、得られた反応混合物にトルエン43.3mlを加え、NaClを0.5g溶解させた水を250ml加え、水相と有機相を分液ロートにて分離し、有機相を1質量%硫酸水溶液150mlで2回洗浄し、更に有機相を水250mlで1回洗浄し、その後の炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液による洗浄及び水による洗浄を行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1と同様にしてビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドを得た。得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドのpHを測定し、表1に示した。
得られたビス(β-エピチオプロピルチオ)スルフィドは、実施例1と同様の方法により重合し、各種評価を行い表1に示した。
以上の結果から、pHが4.0以上の光学部材用モノマーは、優れた重合性を示すことがわかる。また、pHが4.3以上の光学部材用モノマーは、より優れた重合性を示すとともに、白濁の発生が抑制され、更に着色が抑制されることがわかる。さらに、pHが4.5以上の光学部材用モノマーは、より優れた重合性を示すとともに、より優れた透明性を示し、更に着色がより抑制されることがわかる。
Claims (8)
- 前記pHが4.3~7.5である、請求項1に記載のモノマー。
- 前記pHが4.5~7.0である、請求項1に記載のモノマー。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載のモノマーを含む光学部材用重合性組成物。
- 請求項5に記載の光学部材用重合性組成物の硬化物。
- 請求項6に記載の硬化物を含むレンズ基材を備える、眼鏡レンズ。
- 式(1):
(式中、XはS又はOであり、aは0~1の整数であり、Rは、炭素数1~10の2価の炭化水素であり、bは0~1の整数であり、nは0~2の整数である。)で表される化合物を含有する光学部材用モノマーの製造方法であって、
式(2):
(式中、XはS又はOであり、aは0~1の整数であり、Rは、炭素数1~10の2価の炭化水素であり、bは0~1の整数であり、nは0~2の整数である。)で表される化合物と硫黄化剤とを用いて前記式(1)で表される化合物を得ることと、
前記式(1)で表される化合物を下記pH測定方法により得られるpHが4.0~7.5となるまで水で洗浄することと、

試料80gと、トルエン80mlと、水250mlとを分液ロート内で混合し、水相を分離し、当該水相のpHを測定する、
を含む、光学部材用モノマーの製造方法。
