Definitions
- Heat-shrinkable polyester film labels can contribute to the life cycle of PET, from production to use and disposal, and contribute to the reduction of the environmental burden by partially using recycled PET bottle raw materials as described above. be.
- the content is preferably less than 3 mol%.
- a heat-shrinkable polyester film obtained by using a polyester containing 3 mol % or more of these aliphatic dicarboxylic acids is not preferable because the film stiffness is insufficient, and problems such as slitting and post-processing occur.
- additives such as waxes, antioxidants, antistatic agents, crystal nucleating agents, viscosity reducing agents, Heat stabilizers, coloring pigments, anti-coloring agents, UV absorbers, etc. can be added. It is preferable to improve the workability (slipperiness) of the polyethylene terephthalate resin film by adding fine particles as a lubricant to the resin forming the heat-shrinkable polyester film of the present invention.
- fine particles can be selected, and examples of inorganic fine particles include silica, alumina, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, kaolin, and barium sulfate.
- organic fine particles include acrylic resin particles, melamine resin particles, silicone resin particles, crosslinked polystyrene particles, and the like.
- the heat-shrinkable polyester film of the present invention can be subjected to corona treatment, coating treatment, flame treatment, etc. in order to improve the adhesiveness of the film surface.
- the thickness of the film is preferably 5 ⁇ m or more and 40 ⁇ m or less. If the thickness is less than 5 ⁇ m, the risk of breakage during film formation increases, and the feeling of stiffness when used as a label is reduced and wrinkles are likely to occur, which is not preferable. In addition, the thicker the film, the more stable the film is formed, and the more elastic it is, the more likely it is that problems such as wrinkles will not occur. It is not preferable because it goes backwards from the point of view. More preferably, the film thickness is 8 ⁇ m or more and 37 ⁇ m or less, and still more preferably 11 ⁇ m or more and 34 ⁇ m or less.
- the distributive mixing capacity is small, and methods such as raising the resin temperature or lengthening the residence time in the extruder are necessary to promote the transesterification.
- raising the temperature or lengthening the residence time accelerates the thermal decomposition of the resin and causes a problem of lowering of the intrinsic viscosity (lowering of the molecular weight), which is not preferable.
- the screws may rotate in the same direction or in opposite directions, and it is preferable to use the screws in the same direction. This is also for the purpose of increasing the distributive mixing capacity as described above.
- the filling rate Discharge rate (kg/h)/Screw rotation speed (rpm) Formula (2)
- the extruder is divided into a feed section, a melt-mixing section, and an extrusion section from the raw material supply side, and the cylinder temperature in each section is preferably 200° C. or higher and 270° C. or lower in the feed section. If the temperature is less than 200°C, a portion of the resin (particularly the recycled PET bottle material) is not completely melted, which is not preferable. If the temperature exceeds 270° C., it tends to wind around the screw (in particular, the raw material is highly amorphous), which is not preferable. More preferably, it is 210°C or higher and 260°C or lower. Moreover, the temperature of the melt-mixing part is preferably 260° C. or higher and 330° C. or lower.
- the melt viscosity becomes low and defects such as pulsation occur during subsequent extrusion from a die, which is not preferable. More preferably, it is 240°C or higher and 290°C or lower. It is preferable to install a gear pump after the extruder to adjust the amount of feed and ensure the stability of the feed.
- the extruder may be a multi-screw extruder having two or more screws. Specifically, a 4-screw extruder, an 8-screw extruder, a 16-screw extruder, or the like can be suitably used.
- the unstretched sheet is produced by extruding it into a sheet shape using an existing method such as the T-die method or the tubular method. Thereafter, the unstretched film can be obtained by quenching the melt-extruded sheet with an extruder.
- a method for rapidly cooling the molten resin a method of obtaining a substantially non-oriented resin sheet by casting the molten resin from a die onto a rotating drum and rapidly cooling and solidifying the resin can be suitably employed.
- [Melting enthalpy] Put 5 mg of the film after film formation in a sample pan, cover the pan, and heat up to 300 ° C. at a temperature increase rate of 10 ° C./min using a differential scanning calorimeter in a nitrogen gas atmosphere. Hold at 300° C. for 2 minutes. The sample pan was then removed and quenched with liquid nitrogen. The sample after quenching was returned to room temperature, and again heated from 30° C. to 300° C. at a rate of 10° C./min using a differential scanning calorimeter, and DSC was measured. The melting enthalpy was obtained from the endothermic peak area at which the sample melted. When two melting peaks were observed, the two were combined and integrated. When there was no melting peak, the melting enthalpy was set to 0.
- finish after shrinkage was performed visually, and the criteria were as follows. 4: Good finish 3: There are some defects (1 to 2 places) 2: Defective (3 to 5 places) 1: Many defects (6 or more) Here, the defects are wrinkles, folding of label edges, uneven shrinkage, insufficient shrinkage, and peeling of the adhesive portion. Of the evaluation results, 4 or more was regarded as a pass level, and 3 or less was regarded as a failure.
- Example discharge rate The discharge rate of the extruder was determined as the discharge rate (kg/h) by measuring the weight of the resin obtained by operating the extruder for 1 hour under predetermined conditions.
- the cylinder temperature of the feed section of the extruder was 210°C
- the cylinder temperature of the melt mixing section was 300°C
- the cylinder temperature of the extrusion section was 260°C.
- a gear pump was installed after the extruder, and the discharge rate was adjusted to 420 kg/h.
- the resin retention time when extruded under the above conditions was 270 seconds.
- the filling rate is 2.1.
- the resin extruded from the extruder was extruded through a T-die and then quenched to obtain an unstretched film having a thickness of 120 ⁇ m. At this time, the unstretched film had a glass transition temperature of 66°C.
- Example 3 The same procedure as in Example 1 was carried out, except that the gear pump was adjusted so that the discharge rate was 525 kg/h, the thickness of the unstretched film was 150 ⁇ m, and the stretching ratio of the tenter was changed to 5.0 times.
- Table 2 shows the manufacturing method and the evaluation results of the film. As a result of the evaluation, by mixing with amorphous raw materials and promoting transesterification during melt extrusion, it became a highly amorphous film, with sufficient shrinkage in the width direction, low shrinkage stress, and high solvent adhesive strength. Because of the high shrinkage, the film had good shrink finish.

Abstract
