Abstract
Ru、Rh、Pd、Os、IrおよびPtからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第1金属元素、Al、Si、Sc、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Y、LaおよびSmからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第2金属元素、ならびにCeの酸化物を含み、全金属原子に対するCe原子の割合が15モル%以上である臭い除去触媒および当該臭い除去触媒を用いた消臭剤組成物および消臭製品。
Description
本発明は、臭い除去触媒およびその用途に関する。
環境中で発生する様々な臭気(排気ガス、ゴミや食品の臭気、新築家屋・建物から排出される臭気等)は大きな社会課題であり、それぞれの環境に対して有効な対処方法が必要とされる。特に、住居、ホテル・レストランなどの公共施設、電車・自動車など交通機関等の閉鎖的な空間での臭気は問題となるが、人が共存するため安全性に懸念がある特殊な装置(オゾン脱臭、次亜塩素酸脱臭等)の設置は難しく、使い勝手の良い吸着剤が好適に用いられている。しかしながら、吸着剤は継続使用すると吸着容量を超えて破過してしまうため、頻繁に交換する必要がある。また、特に温度が高い日には、一度吸着した臭気成分が吸着剤から脱離することにより悪臭を発生することが問題となる。
大気中の臭気成分を吸着・分解する技術として、たとえば特許文献1には、ルテニウムと少なくとも2種以上の遷移卑金属元素を含む複合酸化物からなるガス除去材が開示され、このガス除去材が常温常湿度下において悪臭ガスや有害ガスの除去能に優れていると記載されている。
特許文献2には、セリウムと銅を含有する複合金属触媒であって、該複合金属触媒中に銅をCuO換算で4~20質量%含有するアルデヒド類除去触媒が開示されている。

しかしながら、上述した従来技術におけるアルデヒド類除去触媒等は、臭い除去能力においてさらなる改善の余地があった。
そこで本発明は、自動車内などの空間における臭気を素早く吸着除去するとともに、吸着した臭気成分を分解することにより、持続的に長期間臭いを低減することができ、におい戻りのない臭い除去触媒を提供すること、および、当該臭い除去触媒を用いた消臭剤組成物および消臭製品を提供することを課題としている。
そこで本発明は、自動車内などの空間における臭気を素早く吸着除去するとともに、吸着した臭気成分を分解することにより、持続的に長期間臭いを低減することができ、におい戻りのない臭い除去触媒を提供すること、および、当該臭い除去触媒を用いた消臭剤組成物および消臭製品を提供することを課題としている。
本発明者らは、上記のような状況に鑑みて鋭意研究した結果、所定の金属元素の酸化物を含む触媒により、上記課題を解決できることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。

本発明の臭い除去触媒は、安全性が高く、臭気成分を吸着し、吸着した臭気成分を分解することにより、温度上昇等に伴って一度吸着した臭気成分を放出する問題を生じることなく、長期間持続的に臭いを低減することができる。本発明の臭い除去触媒は、臭気を有する空間に設置することで、長期間継続的に臭いを低減することができ、自動車等の車内、室内等を効果的に脱臭することができる。
本発明の臭い除去触媒は、そのまま脱臭剤として用いることができ、また、臭い除去効果をもたらす成分として、これを含む組成物、樹脂コート材料、内装用シート材料、自動車インナーパネル等の様々な形態で用いることができる。本発明によれば、本発明に係る臭い除去触媒、およびこれを含む製品を用いることにより、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類などの臭気物質を好適に分解・除去することができる。また本発明によれば、安全にかつ長期間持続的に臭気物質を分解・除去し得る、臭いの除去方法を提供することができる。
<臭い除去触媒>
本発明の臭い除去触媒は、
Ru(ルテニウム)、Rh(ロジウム)、Pd(パラジウム)、Os(オスミウム)、Ir(イリジウム)およびPt(白金)からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第1金属元素、
Al(アルミニウム)、Si(ケイ素)、Sc(スカンジウム)、Ti(チタン)、V(バナジウム)、Cr(クロム)、Mn(マンガン)、Fe(鉄)、Co(コバルト)、Ni(ニッケル)、Cu(銅)、Zn(亜鉛)、Y(イットリウム)、La(ランタン)およびSm(サマリウム)からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第2金属元素、ならびに
Ce(セリウム)
の酸化物を含み、前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対するCe原子の割合が15モル%以上であることを特徴としている。
本発明の臭い除去触媒は、
Ru(ルテニウム)、Rh(ロジウム)、Pd(パラジウム)、Os(オスミウム)、Ir(イリジウム)およびPt(白金)からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第1金属元素、
Al(アルミニウム)、Si(ケイ素)、Sc(スカンジウム)、Ti(チタン)、V(バナジウム)、Cr(クロム)、Mn(マンガン)、Fe(鉄)、Co(コバルト)、Ni(ニッケル)、Cu(銅)、Zn(亜鉛)、Y(イットリウム)、La(ランタン)およびSm(サマリウム)からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第2金属元素、ならびに
Ce(セリウム)
の酸化物を含み、前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対するCe原子の割合が15モル%以上であることを特徴としている。
前記第1金属元素はRuをはじめとして高い酸化作用を示す貴金属元素であり、前記第2金属元素は前記第1金属元素が酸化物粒子中に分散するのに寄与する元素である。第2金属元素のうち、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、CuおよびZnは遷移金属元素(Znも遷移金属元素に含まれるものとする。)であって価数変化し易く、Ceの価数変化を促すことにより、酸化物結晶中の酸素欠陥生成を促進する。酸素欠陥の存在により、前記第1金属元素(のみ)の酸化物が、小さい粒子であっても安定化されることにより、Ceおよび第2金属元素の酸化物粒子中に高分散化される。前記第2金属元素のうち、希土類に属するSc、Y、LaおよびSmは、Ce酸化物に固溶しやすく、酸素欠陥生成を促進することにより、前記第1金属元素の高分散化に寄与する。さらに、前記第2金属元素のうちAlおよびSiは、それらの酸化物が高比表面積であるため、前記第1金属元素の高分散化に寄与する。前記第2金属元素はこのように機能するものと推測される。
よって、本発明に係る臭い除去触媒は、後述するRu、CuおよびCe等の複合酸化物が用いられた実施例の臭い除去触媒と同様に良好な臭い除去性能を発揮するものと推測される。
前記第1金属元素は、Ru、Rh、Pd、Os、IrおよびPtからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であり、好ましくはRu、RhおよびPdからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であり、より好ましくはRuである。
前記第2金属元素は、Al、Si、Sc、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Y、LaおよびSmからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であり、たとえばTi、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、CuおよびZnからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種、Sc、Y、LaおよびSmからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種、またはAlおよびSiからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であり、好ましくはAl、Si、Fe、Co、Ni、LaおよびCuからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種(たとえば、Fe、Co、NiおよびCuからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種)であり、より好ましくはCuである。
前記酸化物の例としては、前記第1金属元素の酸化物、前記第2金属元素の酸化物およびCeの酸化物の混合物(以下「酸化物混合物」とも記載する。)、前記第1金属元素、前記第2金属元素およびCeの複合酸化物が挙げられる。これらの中でも前記複合酸化物が好ましい。前記複合酸化物の詳細な構造は必ずしも明らかではないが、前記複合酸化物は、たとえば、Ceを含む酸化物に第1金属元素または第2金属元素が固溶したもの、Ceおよび第2金属元素の酸化物粒子中に第1金属元素の酸化物粒子が分散したもの、なども含み得る。
前記酸化物混合物は、好ましくはRu、RhおよびPdからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である前記第1金属元素の酸化物、Al、Si、Fe、Co、Ni、LaおよびCuからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種(たとえば、Fe、Co、NiおよびCuからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種)である前記第2金属元素の酸化物、ならびにCeの酸化物の混合物であり、より好ましくはRuの酸化物、Cuの酸化物およびCeの酸化物の混合物である。
前記複合酸化物は、好ましくはRu、RhおよびPdからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種である前記第1金属元素、Al、Si、Fe、Co、Ni、LaおよびCuからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種(たとえば、Fe、Co、NiおよびCuからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種)である前記第2金属元素、ならびにCeの複合酸化物であり、より好ましくはRu、CuおよびCeの複合酸化物である。
前記酸化物中の前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対するCe原子の割合は、15モル%以上である。Ceの割合がこの範囲にあると、臭い除去性能が良好な臭い除去触媒を得ることができる。一方、この割合が15モル%よりも過少であると、得られる臭い除去触媒の除去性能が劣る。
前記酸化物中の前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の割合は、上記の基準で、すなわち前記酸化物中の前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対して、好ましくはそれぞれ0.05~75モル%、5~79.95モル%、18~94.95モル%であり、より好ましくはそれぞれ0.05~10モル%、5~75モル%、18~85モル%であり、さらに好ましくはそれぞれ0.05~7モル%、15~75モル%、20~84.95モル%である。
前記酸化物中には、価数の異なる前記第1金属元素(たとえば、Ru(III)およびRu(IV))、価数の異なる前記第2金属元素(たとえば、Cu(I)およびCu(II))、ならびに価数の異なるCe(たとえば、Ce(III)およびCe(IV))が含まれていてもよい。
本発明の臭い除去触媒のBET法で測定される比表面積は、たとえば50~500m2/g、好ましくは100~300m2/gである。この比表面積は、たとえば臭い除去触媒を粉砕することにより、調整することができる。
本発明の臭い除去触媒は、優れた脱臭効果を有し、特に、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類などの臭気物質を好適に低減・除去することができる。具体的には、本発明の臭い除去触媒に接触した周囲の気体中の臭気物質の少なくとも一部は分解し、その結果、臭気物質を低減・除去することができる。
本発明の臭い除去触媒は、高温にさらされた場合にも、臭気物質を放出して臭いを拡散するという問題を生じにくく、また、吸着した臭気物質が分解されて拡散されることにより、吸着能が著しく低下することがなく、長期にわたって脱臭に用いることができる。
<臭い除去触媒の製造方法>
本発明に係る、前記酸化物混合物を含む臭い除去触媒を製造する方法としては、前記第1金属元素の酸化物(たとえば、酸化ルテニウム)、前記第2金属元素の酸化物(たとえば、酸化銅)およびCeの酸化物を混合する工程を含む方法が挙げられる。
本発明に係る、前記酸化物混合物を含む臭い除去触媒を製造する方法としては、前記第1金属元素の酸化物(たとえば、酸化ルテニウム)、前記第2金属元素の酸化物(たとえば、酸化銅)およびCeの酸化物を混合する工程を含む方法が挙げられる。
これらの酸化物に含まれる前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対するCe原子の割合は、15モル%以上である。Ceの割合がこの範囲にあると、臭い除去性能が良好な臭い除去触媒を得ることができる。一方、この割合が15モル%よりも過少であると、得られる臭い除去触媒の除去性能が劣る。
これらの酸化物は、本発明に係る臭い除去触媒中の、前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対する前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の割合が、上述の割合となるように混合される。前記酸化物は、好ましくは粉末ないし粒子状である。
本発明に係る、前記複合酸化物を含む臭い除去触媒を製造する方法としては、たとえば、
前記第1金属元素の塩、前記第2金属元素の塩、およびCeの塩を、前記塩を可溶な溶媒(好ましくは、水)に溶解させて溶液(好ましくは、水溶液)を調製する工程(1)、
前記溶液と塩基とを混合して沈殿物を生成させ、スラリーを調製する工程(2)、
前記スラリーから触媒前駆体を得る工程(3)、および
前記触媒前駆体を焼成して臭い除去触媒を製造する工程(4)を含む方法が挙げられる。
前記第1金属元素の塩、前記第2金属元素の塩、およびCeの塩を、前記塩を可溶な溶媒(好ましくは、水)に溶解させて溶液(好ましくは、水溶液)を調製する工程(1)、
前記溶液と塩基とを混合して沈殿物を生成させ、スラリーを調製する工程(2)、
前記スラリーから触媒前駆体を得る工程(3)、および
前記触媒前駆体を焼成して臭い除去触媒を製造する工程(4)を含む方法が挙げられる。
工程(1)で用いられる塩の例としては、前記第1金属元素、前記第2金属元素、またはCeの、塩化物、臭化物、硝酸塩、硫酸塩、酢酸塩が挙げられ、好ましくは塩化物、硝酸塩、酢酸塩が挙げられる。これらは水和物であってもよい。前記塩の具体例としては、塩化ルテニウム(III)、硝酸銅(II)三水和物、硝酸セリウム(III)六水和物が挙げられる。
前記溶液には、さらに前記第1金属元素、前記第2金属元素およびCeからなる群から選択される1種以上の元素の酸化物が混合されていてもよく、混合されていなくてもよい。これらの酸化物は、前記第1金属元素の塩、前記第2金属元素の塩、およびCeの塩を溶媒に溶解させる際に溶媒に加えてもよく、調製された前記溶液と混合してもよい。前記酸化物の例としては、酸化ルテニウム等の前記第1金属元素の酸化物、酸化銅等の前記第2金属元素の酸化物、および酸化セリウムが挙げられる。前記酸化物は、好ましくは粉末ないし粒子状である。
これらの塩および任意の酸化物に含まれる前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対するCe原子の割合は、15モル%以上である。Ceの割合がこの範囲にあると、臭い除去性能が良好な臭い除去触媒を得ることができる。一方、この割合が15モル%よりも過少であると、得られる臭い除去触媒の除去性能が劣る。
これらの塩および任意の酸化物に含まれる前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の割合は、上記の基準で、これらの塩および任意の酸化物に含まれる前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対して、好ましくはそれぞれ0.05~75モル%、5~79.95モル%、18~94.95モル%であり、より好ましくはそれぞれ0.05~10モル%、5~75モル%、18~85モル%であり、さらに好ましくはそれぞれ0.05~7モル%、15~75モル%、20~84.95モル%である。
工程(2)で用いられる塩基の例としては、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カリウム、炭酸水素ナトリウム、炭酸水素カリウム、アンモニア、尿素が挙げられる。これらは、溶液(好ましくは、水溶液)の態様であってもよい。工程(2)で得られたスラリーは、好ましくは撹拌される。
工程(3)では、工程(2)で得られたスラリーから触媒前駆体を得る。触媒前駆体は、前記スラリーから(ろ過などの手段により)回収される固形分であってもよく、前記スラリーを水熱合成に供して調製される固形分であってもよく、好ましくは後者である。この水熱合成は、たとえば80~300℃で、5~48時間実施される。触媒前駆体は、好ましくは、蒸留水で洗浄され、次いで加熱乾燥される。
工程(4)での焼成は、たとえば120~600℃で、1~48時間実施される。焼成は、好ましくは酸素含有雰囲気で、たとえば空気流通下で実施される。
焼成により得られた臭い除去触媒は、そのまま使用してもよく、粉砕してから使用してもよい。

本発明に係る臭い除去触媒を製造する方法としては、さらに、
前記第1金属元素の塩、および前記第2金属元素の塩を、前記塩を可溶な溶媒(好ましくは、水)に溶解させて溶液(好ましくは、水溶液)を調製する工程(11)、
前記溶液に酸化セリウムを分散させて分散液を調製する工程(12)、
前記分散液から溶媒を除去して固形分を得る工程(13)、および
前記固形分を焼成して臭い除去触媒を製造する工程(14)を含む方法が挙げられる。
前記第1金属元素の塩、および前記第2金属元素の塩を、前記塩を可溶な溶媒(好ましくは、水)に溶解させて溶液(好ましくは、水溶液)を調製する工程(11)、
前記溶液に酸化セリウムを分散させて分散液を調製する工程(12)、
前記分散液から溶媒を除去して固形分を得る工程(13)、および
前記固形分を焼成して臭い除去触媒を製造する工程(14)を含む方法が挙げられる。
工程(11)で用いられる前記第1金属元素の塩、および前記第2金属元素の塩の詳細は、上述した工程(1)で用いられるこれらの塩の詳細と同様である。
工程(12)で用いられる酸化セリウムは、好ましくは粉末ないし粒子状である。

工程(13)において溶媒を除去する方法としては、前記分散液を加熱して溶媒を蒸発させる方法が挙げられる。
工程(14)における焼成条件は、上述した工程(4)における焼成条件と同様である。焼成により得られた臭い除去触媒は、そのまま使用してもよく、粉砕してから使用してもよい。

<消臭剤組成物>
本発明に係る臭い除去触媒は、単独で用いてもよく、その他の(additional)成分と組み合わせて用いてもよい。たとえば、本発明に係る臭い除去触媒と、臭気成分を除去、中和あるいは分解するその他の(additional)臭い除去成分とを含む消臭剤組成物として用いることができる。
本発明に係る臭い除去触媒は、単独で用いてもよく、その他の(additional)成分と組み合わせて用いてもよい。たとえば、本発明に係る臭い除去触媒と、臭気成分を除去、中和あるいは分解するその他の(additional)臭い除去成分とを含む消臭剤組成物として用いることができる。
その他の臭い除去成分としては、公知のものを制限なく用いることができるが、化学吸着剤を用いることが好ましい。特に、臭気物質と化学的な相互作用により消臭する、化学吸着剤を、上述した本発明に係る臭い除去触媒と混合することにより、特に初期性能が向上した消臭剤組成物とすることができる。化学吸着剤の例としては、東亞合成製ケスモンNS-750(有機アミン担持シリカ;アルデヒド用)、NS-70(Ca、Mg系化合物;酸用)、NS-10(リン酸ジルコニア;アンモニア用)、NS―20C(Cu系化合物担持シリカ;硫黄化合物用);大塚化学製ケムキャッチ(アジピン酸ジヒドラジド;アルデヒド用);シナセンゼオミック製ダッシュライトS(アミン化合物担持シリカ;アルデヒド用)が挙げられる。
消臭剤組成物におけるその他の臭い除去成分の割合は、たとえば本発明に係る臭い除去触媒100質量部に対して1~50質量部であってもよい。
消臭剤組成物におけるその他の臭い除去成分の割合は、たとえば本発明に係る臭い除去触媒100質量部に対して1~50質量部であってもよい。
<消臭製品>
本発明の消臭製品は、本発明の臭い除去触媒または本発明の消臭剤組成物を含む。
本発明の臭い除去触媒(臭い除去触媒が消臭剤組成物の形態で用いられる場合には消臭剤組成物。以下「臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物」と記載する。)は、たとえば公知の方法により液剤、固体剤またはゲル状固体剤などの消臭製品に適宜調製され、工業用および家庭用の種々の消臭剤用途に使用することができる。
消臭液剤としては、本発明の臭い除去触媒または消臭剤組成物を水またはエタノールなどの有機溶媒に適宜溶かしたもの、または界面活性剤などで適宜乳化させた液剤、あるいはこれら液剤を噴射剤とともにスプレー容器に充填したエアゾール消臭剤などが例示される。
消臭固体剤としては、本発明の臭い除去触媒または消臭剤組成物をシリカやパーライトなどの粉末状無機物質と混合した粉末剤、紙や多孔性物質に吸着させたもの、あるいはポリエチレンなどの合成樹脂に練り込んだものなどが挙げられる。
ゲル状固体消臭剤としては、本発明の臭い除去触媒または消臭剤組成物を寒天、カラギナン、ポリエチレングリコールなどの天然または合成高分子ゲル基剤に添加したものが例示される。また、必要に応じて、これらの剤型に界面活性剤、殺菌剤、香料や色素などを適宜添加してもよい。
本発明の消臭製品は、本発明の臭い除去触媒または本発明の消臭剤組成物を含む。
本発明の臭い除去触媒(臭い除去触媒が消臭剤組成物の形態で用いられる場合には消臭剤組成物。以下「臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物」と記載する。)は、たとえば公知の方法により液剤、固体剤またはゲル状固体剤などの消臭製品に適宜調製され、工業用および家庭用の種々の消臭剤用途に使用することができる。
消臭液剤としては、本発明の臭い除去触媒または消臭剤組成物を水またはエタノールなどの有機溶媒に適宜溶かしたもの、または界面活性剤などで適宜乳化させた液剤、あるいはこれら液剤を噴射剤とともにスプレー容器に充填したエアゾール消臭剤などが例示される。
消臭固体剤としては、本発明の臭い除去触媒または消臭剤組成物をシリカやパーライトなどの粉末状無機物質と混合した粉末剤、紙や多孔性物質に吸着させたもの、あるいはポリエチレンなどの合成樹脂に練り込んだものなどが挙げられる。
ゲル状固体消臭剤としては、本発明の臭い除去触媒または消臭剤組成物を寒天、カラギナン、ポリエチレングリコールなどの天然または合成高分子ゲル基剤に添加したものが例示される。また、必要に応じて、これらの剤型に界面活性剤、殺菌剤、香料や色素などを適宜添加してもよい。
本発明の消臭製品は、家庭用としては、たとえば室内、冷蔵庫、トイレやごみ箱などにおける消臭のためおよび体臭除去・防止のために用いることができ、さらに、工業用としては、たとえば汚水処理場、魚類加工場、魚粉製造場、畜舎、畜糞あるいは鶏糞乾燥場やパルプ工場などにおける悪臭の除去のために適宜用いることができる。
本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物を用いた有用な消臭製品の1つは消臭繊維である。この場合、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物が、原料繊維の表面に付着又は接着されている消臭繊維(1)、又は、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物が、原料繊維の表面に表出するように埋設されている消臭繊維(2)とすることができる。
原料繊維としては、天然繊維及び合成繊維のいずれでもよく、また、短繊維、長繊維及び芯鞘構造をもった複合繊維等のいずれでもよい。
消臭繊維(1)は、原料繊維の表面に、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物を含有した水系あるいは有機溶剤系懸濁液からなる消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)(以下、単に「塗工液」ともいう。)を、グラビア塗布やディッピング、スプレー塗工等の方法で付着させ、溶剤等の媒体を除去することにより得ることができる。
原料繊維としては、天然繊維及び合成繊維のいずれでもよく、また、短繊維、長繊維及び芯鞘構造をもった複合繊維等のいずれでもよい。
消臭繊維(1)は、原料繊維の表面に、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物を含有した水系あるいは有機溶剤系懸濁液からなる消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)(以下、単に「塗工液」ともいう。)を、グラビア塗布やディッピング、スプレー塗工等の方法で付着させ、溶剤等の媒体を除去することにより得ることができる。
前記消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)には、原料繊維表面への消臭剤組成物の付着力を向上させるためのバインダーを配合してもよい。
バインダーの種類としては、アクリル系バインダー、アクリルシリコーン系バインダー、スチレン系バインダー、アクリルスチレン系バインダー等を挙げることができる。
消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)とバインダーの比(消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)のバインダー以外の成分の合計質量/バインダーの質量)は、たとえば95/5~10/90、好ましくは90/10~30/70、更に好ましくは80/20~40/60である。バインダー比率が少ないほど消臭剤としての性能が出やすいが、繊維から脱落し易くなる。用途により適切な比率を選ぶ必要が有る。
バインダーの種類としては、アクリル系バインダー、アクリルシリコーン系バインダー、スチレン系バインダー、アクリルスチレン系バインダー等を挙げることができる。
消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)とバインダーの比(消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)のバインダー以外の成分の合計質量/バインダーの質量)は、たとえば95/5~10/90、好ましくは90/10~30/70、更に好ましくは80/20~40/60である。バインダー比率が少ないほど消臭剤としての性能が出やすいが、繊維から脱落し易くなる。用途により適切な比率を選ぶ必要が有る。
消臭剤含有液体組成物の粘度が低く、消臭剤組成物が沈降する場合は、増粘剤を添加することができる。
増粘剤としては、アルギン酸ナトリウム、メチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、キサンタンガムなどの多糖類、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリメタクリル酸系増粘剤などを挙げることができる。
増粘剤は、塗工液中に、たとえば0.01~10質量%、好ましくは0.1~5質量%、更に好ましくは0.2~2質量%となる量で塗工液に添加される。
増粘剤としては、アルギン酸ナトリウム、メチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、キサンタンガムなどの多糖類、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリメタクリル酸系増粘剤などを挙げることができる。
増粘剤は、塗工液中に、たとえば0.01~10質量%、好ましくは0.1~5質量%、更に好ましくは0.2~2質量%となる量で塗工液に添加される。
塗工液の原料繊維への濡れ性が不充分な場合は、界面活性剤を添加してもよい。
界面活性剤としては、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、アルキルオキシベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム等のアルキル硫酸ナトリウム、アセチレングリコール系界面活性剤などを挙げることができる。
界面活性剤は、塗工液中に、たとえば0.01~10質量%、好ましくは0.1~5質量%、更に好ましくは0.2~2質量%となる量で塗工液に添加される。
消臭剤組成物を含有する水系の塗工液のpHは、特に制限はないが、消臭剤組成物の性能を十分に発揮させるために、好ましくは6~8付近である。
界面活性剤としては、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、アルキルオキシベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム等のアルキル硫酸ナトリウム、アセチレングリコール系界面活性剤などを挙げることができる。
界面活性剤は、塗工液中に、たとえば0.01~10質量%、好ましくは0.1~5質量%、更に好ましくは0.2~2質量%となる量で塗工液に添加される。
消臭剤組成物を含有する水系の塗工液のpHは、特に制限はないが、消臭剤組成物の性能を十分に発揮させるために、好ましくは6~8付近である。
また、消臭繊維(2)は、液状繊維用樹脂の溶融物又は溶解した繊維用樹脂溶液に、本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物を配合し、得られた消臭剤含有樹脂組成物を繊維化することにより得ることができる。この方法で用いることができる繊維用樹脂は、特に限定されず、公知の化学繊維を使用することができる。好ましい樹脂は、ポリエステル、ポリアミド、アクリル、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリビニル、ポリビニリデン、ポリウレタン及びポリスチレン等である。これらの樹脂は、単独重合体であっても共重合体であってもよい。共重合体の場合、単量体の重合割合は、特に限定されない。
消臭剤含有樹脂組成物に含まれる臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の割合は、特に限定されない。一般に、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の含有量を増やせば、消臭性を強力に発揮させ、長期間持続させることができるが、ある程度以上に含有させても、消臭効果に大きな差が生じないこと、あるいは消臭繊維の強度が低下することがあるので、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の割合は、繊維用樹脂100質量部に対して、好ましくは0.1~20質量部であり、より好ましくは0.5~10質量部である。
本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の主要な他の消臭製品は、消臭剤含有塗料組成物である。消臭剤含有塗料組成物を製造するに際し、使用される塗料ビヒクルの主成分となる油脂又は樹脂は、特に限定されず、天然植物油、天然樹脂、半合成樹脂及び合成樹脂のいずれであってもよい。使用できる油脂及び樹脂としては、例えば、あまに油、しなきり油、大豆油等の乾性油又は半乾性油、ロジン、ニトロセルロース、エチルセルロース、酪酸セルロース、ベンジルセルロース、ノボラック型又はレゾール型のフェノール樹脂、アルキド樹脂、アミノアルキド樹脂、アクリル樹脂、塩化ビニル樹脂、シリコーン樹脂、フッ素樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ウレタン樹脂、飽和ポリエステル樹脂、メラミン樹脂及びポリ塩化ビニリデン樹脂等が挙げられる。尚、消臭剤含有塗料組成物は、熱可塑性及び硬化性のいずれでもよい。
消臭剤含有塗料組成物に含まれる本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の割合は、特に限定されない。一般に、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の含有量を増やせば、消臭性を強力に発揮させ、長期間持続させることができるが、ある程度以上に含有させても、消臭効果に大きな差が生じないこと、あるいは、塗装面の光沢がなくなったり、割れが生じたりする。従って、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の含有割合は、消臭剤含有塗料組成物100質量%に対して、好ましくは0.1~20質量%であり、より好ましくは0.5~10質量%である。
本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物は、液体塗料、粉体塗料のいずれにも使用可能である。また、上記消臭剤含有塗料組成物は、いかなる機構により皮膜化するタイプでもよく、塗膜を硬化させる場合には、酸化重合型、湿気重合型、加熱硬化型、触媒硬化型、紫外線硬化型、及びポリオール硬化型等とすることができる。また、焼き付けによる硬化型の焼結塗装にも適用できる。また、組成物に配合される顔料、分散剤その他の添加剤は、本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物と化学的反応を起す可能性のあるものを除けば、特に制限はない。上記消臭剤含有塗料組成物は、容易に調製することができ、具体的には、原料成分を、例えば、ボールミル、ロールミル、デイスパーやミキサー等の一般的な混合装置を用いて、十分に分散、混合すればよい。
また、本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物を用いた更に他の消臭製品は、消臭シート(消臭フィルムを含む)である。加工前の原料シートは、特に限定されず、その材質、微細構造等も、用途等に応じたものとすることができる。原料シートの好ましい材質は、樹脂、紙等の有機材料、無機材料、あるいはこれらの複合物である。原料シートは、1面側から他面側に通気性を有するものが好ましく用いられる。原料シートの他の好ましい具体例としては、和紙、合成紙、不織布、樹脂フィルム等が挙げられ、特に好ましい原料シートは、天然パルプ及び/又は合成パルプからなる紙である。天然パルプを使用すると、微細に枝分かれした繊維間に消臭剤粒子が挟まれやすく、特に結合剤を使用しなくても実用的な担持体になり得る。一方、合成パルプは、耐薬品性に優れるという長所がある。合成パルプを使用する場合には、繊維間に粉体を挟み込むことにより消臭剤粒子を担持することが困難となることがあるので、それを抑制するために、抄紙後の乾燥工程において繊維の一部を溶融し、粉末と繊維との間の付着力を増加させたり、繊維の一部に別の熱硬化性樹脂繊維を混在させたりしてもよい。天然パルプと合成パルプとを適当な割合で混合して使用すると、種々の特性を調整した紙を得ることができるが、一般に合成パルプの割合を多くすると、強度、耐水性、耐薬品性及び耐油性等に優れた紙を得ることができ、一方、天然パルプの割合を多くすると、吸水性、ガス透過性、親水性、成形加工性及び風合い等に優れた紙を得ることができる。
上記消臭シートとしては、消臭剤組成物が、原料シートの1面側から他面側への全体に渡って含まれるものであってもよいし、1面側又は他面側の表面層に配されたものであってもよいし、表面層を除く内部に配されたものであってもよい。
上記消臭シートに含まれる本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の担持量は、特に限定されない。一般に、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の担持量を増やせば、消臭性を強力に発揮させ、長期間持続させることができるが、ある程度以上に担持させても、消臭効果に大きな差が生じない。従って、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の担持量は、原料シート100質量部あたり、好ましくは0.1~10質量部である。
上記消臭シートを製造する方法は、特に限定されない。本発明の臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の担持は、原料シートの製造と同時又は原料シートの製造後のいずれでもよい。例えば、紙に担持する場合、抄紙工程のいずれかの工程において臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物を導入する方法や、バインダーを含む消臭剤含有液体組成物(塗工液)を、予め製造した紙に塗布、浸漬又は吹き付ける方法等を適用することができる。バインダーの種類、塗工液に添加可能な増粘剤および界面活性剤は、消臭繊維の項で説明したものと同じである。消臭剤含有液体組成物を用いる場合、臭い除去触媒および消臭剤組成物の担持量が、0.05~10g/m2程度となるように塗工することが好ましい。
<臭いの除去方法>
本発明に係る臭いの除去方法は、上述した本発明の臭い除去触媒またはそれを含む消臭剤組成物あるいは消臭製品(以下「臭い除去触媒等」ともいう。)を用いて、臭気物質による臭いを低減・除去する方法であり、たとえばアルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類、アミン類、チオール類、炭化水素類から選ばれる少なくとも1種の臭気物質、好ましくは、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類から選ばれる少なくとも1種の臭気物質による臭いを低減する方法である。臭い除去触媒は、そのままの形態で用いてもよく、また、他の素材と組み合わせて用いてもよい。
本発明に係る臭いの除去方法は、上述した本発明の臭い除去触媒またはそれを含む消臭剤組成物あるいは消臭製品(以下「臭い除去触媒等」ともいう。)を用いて、臭気物質による臭いを低減・除去する方法であり、たとえばアルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類、アミン類、チオール類、炭化水素類から選ばれる少なくとも1種の臭気物質、好ましくは、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類から選ばれる少なくとも1種の臭気物質による臭いを低減する方法である。臭い除去触媒は、そのままの形態で用いてもよく、また、他の素材と組み合わせて用いてもよい。
本発明に係る臭い除去方法は、上述した本発明の臭い除去触媒等を、臭い除去の対象となる気体(臭気物質を含む気体)と接触させることにより達成することができ、具体的には、本発明の臭い除去触媒等を臭い除去の対象となる空間に静置すること、本発明の臭い除去触媒等の存在する空間に、臭気物質を含む気体を通気することなどの方法が挙げられる。
本発明に係る臭い除去触媒等を用いて臭いの除去を行うと、吸着した臭気物質が放出されることがなく、吸着能も回復することから、臭気物質による臭気を長期間にわたって軽減・除去することができる。また、本発明に係る臭い除去触媒とともに、臭気物質と化学的な相互作用により消臭する化学吸着剤を含む消臭剤組成物または消臭製品を用いた場合には、初期の臭気低減効果をさらに向上させることができる。
<用途>
本発明の臭い除去触媒およびこれを含む消臭剤組成物、消臭製品は、上述のように、周囲の臭気物質を吸着し、分解することにより、臭いを長期にわたり軽減・除去することができ、特に、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類、アミン類、チオール類、炭化水素類から選ばれる臭気物質、好ましくは、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類から選ばれる少なくとも1種の臭気物質による臭気を軽減・除去することができる。また、本発明の臭い除去触媒およびこれを含む消臭剤組成物、消臭製品は、抗菌性・抗ウイルス性を有し、特に抗菌性に優れることから、製品表面等に抗菌性・抗ウイルス性が求められる用途にも好適に用いることができる。
本発明の臭い除去触媒およびこれを含む消臭剤組成物、消臭製品は、上述のように、周囲の臭気物質を吸着し、分解することにより、臭いを長期にわたり軽減・除去することができ、特に、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類、アミン類、チオール類、炭化水素類から選ばれる臭気物質、好ましくは、アルデヒド類、カルボン酸類、エステル類から選ばれる少なくとも1種の臭気物質による臭気を軽減・除去することができる。また、本発明の臭い除去触媒およびこれを含む消臭剤組成物、消臭製品は、抗菌性・抗ウイルス性を有し、特に抗菌性に優れることから、製品表面等に抗菌性・抗ウイルス性が求められる用途にも好適に用いることができる。
このような本発明の臭い除去触媒およびこれを含む消臭剤組成物は、大気中の臭気物質による臭気の軽減・除去に好適に用いることができ、たとえば自動車内などの室内の脱臭に特に好適に用いることができる。
また本発明の臭い除去触媒、消臭剤組成物および消臭製品は、特に制限なく種々の用途に適用することができ、たとえば、椅子張り地、カーテン、カーペット、タイル、壁紙、または乗り物用内装材等に適用することができる。これらの用途に対しては、上記消臭製品のどの形態を用いてもよい。
また本発明の臭い除去触媒、消臭剤組成物および消臭製品は、特に制限なく種々の用途に適用することができ、たとえば、椅子張り地、カーテン、カーペット、タイル、壁紙、または乗り物用内装材等に適用することができる。これらの用途に対しては、上記消臭製品のどの形態を用いてもよい。
乗り物用内装の乗り物の例としては、自動車、電車、旅客機、船舶を挙げることができる。
乗り物用内装材の例としては、天井材、インナーパネル、ドアトリム、ヘッドレスト、ハンドル、シフトレバー、インストルメンツパネル、シートカバー、床材、床マット、バックドアパネルを挙げることができる。
乗り物用内装材の例としては、天井材、インナーパネル、ドアトリム、ヘッドレスト、ハンドル、シフトレバー、インストルメンツパネル、シートカバー、床材、床マット、バックドアパネルを挙げることができる。
本発明の消臭製品の他の用途として、特に消臭繊維は、例えば、肌着、靴下、エプロン等の衣類、介護用衣類、布団、座布団、毛布、じゅうたん、ソファ、エアーフィルター(例えば室内用あるいは乗り物用のエアコン、除湿器、加湿器、空気清浄機のフィルター)、布団カバー、カーテン、カーシート等の、後述する消臭シートを加工した製品等の繊維製品に使用することができる。
本発明の消臭製品の他の用途として、特に消臭塗料組成物は、例えば、建物、車両、鉄道等の内壁及び外壁、ゴミ焼却場の施設、生ゴミ容器等に対して好適に使用することができる。特にVOC(volatile organic compounds)濃度の高い工場の床材や内壁、魚市場の床材や内壁に使用することができる。
本発明の臭い除去触媒およびこれを含む消臭剤組成物、消臭製品は、抗菌性・抗ウイルス性を有することから、抗菌・抗ウイルス性消臭製品として使用することができる。具体的な用途は、上述と同様であり、たとえば、椅子張り地、カーテン、カーペット、タイル、壁紙、エアーフィルター(例えば室内用あるいは乗り物用のエアコン、除湿器、加湿器、空気清浄機のフィルター)または乗り物用内装材などが挙げられ、これらに対し好適抗菌・抗ウイルス性消臭製品を使用することができる。
以下、実施例に基づいて本発明をさらに具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれらの実施例に限定されるものではない。
[実施例1]
塩化ルテニウム(III)(シグマアルドリッチ製、純度;Ruとして45-55%)0.046g、硝酸セリウム(III)六水和物(富士フィルム和光純薬株式会社製、純度;98.0%)1.52g、および硝酸銅(II)三水和物(富士フィルム和光純薬株式会社製、純度;99.0%)0.16gを、蒸留水18mLに溶解させた。次いで、得られた水溶液(以下「金属前駆体水溶液」ともいう。)に7M水酸化ナトリウム水溶液53mLを加え、沈殿を生成させ、30分間攪拌した。得られたスラリーを、100ccテフロン(登録商標)内筒を備えた水熱合成装置に入れて100℃で24時間加熱した。スラリーをろ過し、残渣(触媒前駆体)を洗浄液のpHが一定になるまで蒸留水で洗浄し、80℃で24時間加熱して乾燥させ、次いで空気流通下、300℃で2時間焼成を行って触媒A(臭い除去触媒A)を得た。
塩化ルテニウム(III)(シグマアルドリッチ製、純度;Ruとして45-55%)0.046g、硝酸セリウム(III)六水和物(富士フィルム和光純薬株式会社製、純度;98.0%)1.52g、および硝酸銅(II)三水和物(富士フィルム和光純薬株式会社製、純度;99.0%)0.16gを、蒸留水18mLに溶解させた。次いで、得られた水溶液(以下「金属前駆体水溶液」ともいう。)に7M水酸化ナトリウム水溶液53mLを加え、沈殿を生成させ、30分間攪拌した。得られたスラリーを、100ccテフロン(登録商標)内筒を備えた水熱合成装置に入れて100℃で24時間加熱した。スラリーをろ過し、残渣(触媒前駆体)を洗浄液のpHが一定になるまで蒸留水で洗浄し、80℃で24時間加熱して乾燥させ、次いで空気流通下、300℃で2時間焼成を行って触媒A(臭い除去触媒A)を得た。
[実施例2]
塩化ルテニウム(III)、硝酸セリウム(III)六水和物、および硝酸銅(II)三水和物の量を、それぞれ0.061g、1.52g、0.49gに変更したこと以外は実施例1と同様にして、触媒Bを得た。

各実施例ないし比較例で製造された触媒の組成(各金属原子の合計(100モル%)に対する、各金属原子の割合(モル%))は、波長分散型蛍光X線分析装置 ZSX Primus IV(株式会社リガク)を用いて、蛍光X線分析(XRF)法により確認した。結果を表1に示す。
各実施例ないし比較例で製造された触媒の組成(各金属原子の合計(100モル%)に対する、各金属原子の割合(モル%))は、波長分散型蛍光X線分析装置 ZSX Primus IV(株式会社リガク)を用いて、蛍光X線分析(XRF)法により確認した。結果を表1に示す。
臭い除去能の評価;
容量3Lのサンプリングバッグに、各実施例ないし比較例で製造された触媒を4mg投入し、空気を3L導入した。次いでプロピオンアルデヒド濃度が1ppmとなるようにプロピオンアルデヒドを導入し、室温で24時間放置し消臭試験を実施した。臭気の評価はハンディにおいモニターOMX―TDM(神栄テクノロジー株式会社)を用いて行い、下記式より除去度を決定した。結果を表1に示す。

10mgの臭い除去触媒Aを反応管に設置し、40℃または80℃にてプロピオンアルデヒド10ppm混合ガス(空気希釈)を3L/hで流通させた。分析は、反応管入口ガスと出口ガスをGC-MSに導入し、プロピオンアルデヒド濃度、二酸化炭素濃度の分析を行った。なお、GC-MSは、表2に記載の条件で分析を行った。
分析結果より、図1にプロピオンアルデヒド濃度の経時的変化を示すグラフを、図2にプロピオンアルデヒド連続分解試験時の二酸化炭素濃度の経時的変化を示すグラフを示す。図1から定常的にプロピオンアルデヒド濃度が減少していることが分かり、また図2から継続的に二酸化炭素が発生していることが分かり、臭い除去触媒Aによって長期にわたり継続的に臭気物質であるプロピオンアルデヒド(アルデヒド類)の除去が可能なことが分かった。

臭気強度は、下記表3に示す臭いの程度を数値化した指標である。官能評価は、日本健康住宅協会 空気環境部会による各臭気物質の濃度と臭気強度の関係(http://kjknpo.com/html#j/bukai/kuki/qa/a11.htm)に基づくグラフ(図5)に示すプロピオンアルデヒド濃度と臭気強度の関係から、各臭気強度のサンプルを作製し、それらとの比較から評価した。官能評価結果を表4に示す。

実施例1で得た臭い除去触媒A 5mgと、化学吸着剤であるケスモンNS-10(東亞合成製)2.5mgおよびケスモンNS-70(東亞合成製)2.5mgとを、消臭剤組成物として3Lサンプリングバック(フレックサンプラー、近江オドエアーサービス株式会社製)に入れ、空気2.5Lを導入し、導入口にシリコーン製キャップをした。次いで、10000vol.ppmのトリメチルアミン/空気4.1mLを、ガスタイトシリンジを用いてサンプリングバックに注入し、袋内のトリエチルアミン濃度を約15ppmになるよう調整した。80℃で、24時間静置したときのトリメチルアミン濃度を検知管180L(ガステック株式会社製)で評価した。ブランクとして臭い除去触媒を入れずに同様の評価を行い、ブランクの値を100%とした相対濃度は、20%であった。

撹拌機、還流コンデンサー、滴下装置、及び温度計を備えた反応容器に、イオン交換水550g及びドデシルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム1gを仕込み、撹拌下に窒素置換しながら72℃まで昇温した。内温を72℃に保ち、重合開始剤として過硫酸カリウム3gを添加し、溶解後、予めイオン交換水400g、ドデシルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム3gにアクリルアミド15g、メチルメタクリレート590g、n-ブチルアクリレート330g、2-ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート20g、メタクリル酸20g、エチレングリコールジメタクリレート15g、t-ドデシルメルカプタン1gを撹拌下に加えて作製した乳化物を、反応溶液内に連続的に4時間かけて滴下した。滴下終了後、2時間の熟成を行った。得られたバインダー1を含む水溶液を常温まで冷却した後、イオン交換水とアンモニウム水溶液とを添加して固形分50質量%、pH7.5に調整し、50質量%バインダー1水溶液を得た。
バインダー1の製造
撹拌機、還流コンデンサー、滴下装置、及び温度計を備えた反応容器に、イオン交換水550g及びドデシルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム1gを仕込み、撹拌下に窒素置換しながら72℃まで昇温した。内温を72℃に保ち、重合開始剤として過硫酸カリウム3gを添加し、溶解後、予めイオン交換水400g、ドデシルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム3gにアクリルアミド15g、メチルメタクリレート590g、n-ブチルアクリレート330g、2-ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート20g、メタクリル酸20g、エチレングリコールジメタクリレート15g、t-ドデシルメルカプタン1gを撹拌下に加えて作製した乳化物を、反応溶液内に連続的に4時間かけて滴下した。滴下終了後、2時間の熟成を行った。得られたバインダー1を含む水溶液を常温まで冷却した後、イオン交換水とアンモニウム水溶液とを添加して固形分50質量%、pH7.5に調整し、50質量%バインダー1水溶液を得た。
塗工液調製・塗工(塗工フィルムN1の製造)
実施例1で得た臭い除去触媒A 3g、50質量%バインダー1水溶液6g、5質量%シックナーSN615(サンノプコ株式会社製)水溶液3g、10質量%DOWFAX2A1(ダウ株式会社製)水溶液2g、水13gを混合し、撹拌することにより、粒子が均一に分散された塗工液を得た。スリット幅40μmのアプリケーターを用い、オートフィルムアプリケーター(テスター産業株式会社製)にて、当該塗工液をPETフィルム(東洋紡株式会社製、厚さ25μm)上に塗工後、80℃、10分乾燥することにより、均一に粒子が分散した塗工フィルムN1を得た。塗工量は、4.2g/m2、臭い除去触媒Aの塗工量は2.0g/m2であった。
実施例1で得た臭い除去触媒A 3g、50質量%バインダー1水溶液6g、5質量%シックナーSN615(サンノプコ株式会社製)水溶液3g、10質量%DOWFAX2A1(ダウ株式会社製)水溶液2g、水13gを混合し、撹拌することにより、粒子が均一に分散された塗工液を得た。スリット幅40μmのアプリケーターを用い、オートフィルムアプリケーター(テスター産業株式会社製)にて、当該塗工液をPETフィルム(東洋紡株式会社製、厚さ25μm)上に塗工後、80℃、10分乾燥することにより、均一に粒子が分散した塗工フィルムN1を得た。塗工量は、4.2g/m2、臭い除去触媒Aの塗工量は2.0g/m2であった。

撹拌機、還流コンデンサー、滴下装置、及び温度計を備えた反応容器に、イオン交換水1000g及びドデシルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム0.5gを仕込み、撹拌下に窒素置換しながら75℃まで昇温した。内温を75℃に保ち、重合開始剤として過硫酸アンモニウム4gを添加し、溶解後、予めイオン交換水300g、ドデシルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム3.5gにアクリルアミド7g、スチレン690g、ジビニルベンゼン6g、アクリル酸15gを撹拌下に加えて作製した乳化物を、反応溶液内に連続的に4時間かけて滴下した。滴下終了後、2時間の熟成を行った。得られたバインダー2を含む水溶液を常温まで冷却した後、イオン交換水とアンモニウム水溶液とを添加して固形分35質量%、pH8.0に調整し、35質量%バインダー2水溶液を得た。

塗工液調製・塗工(塗工不織布N2の製造)
実施例1で得た臭い除去触媒A 3.6g、35質量%バインダー2水溶液6.8g、5質量%シックナーSN615(サンノプコ株式会社製)水溶液6.2g、10質量%DOWFAX2A1(ダウ株式会社製)水溶液2.4g、水62gを混合し、撹拌することにより、粒子が均一に分散された塗工液を得た。
得られた塗工液を金属製バットに流し入れ、A5サイズ(148×210mm)のPET不織布(05TH-80、広瀬製紙株式会社製)を2分間浸漬し、絞り器で余分な塗工液を搾り取った後、80℃で10分間加熱乾燥することにより、均一に粒子が分散塗工された塗工不織布N2を得た。塗工量は、2.9g/m2、臭い除去触媒Aの塗工量は1.6g/m2であった。
実施例1で得た臭い除去触媒A 3.6g、35質量%バインダー2水溶液6.8g、5質量%シックナーSN615(サンノプコ株式会社製)水溶液6.2g、10質量%DOWFAX2A1(ダウ株式会社製)水溶液2.4g、水62gを混合し、撹拌することにより、粒子が均一に分散された塗工液を得た。

[実施例23]
塗工液調製・塗工(塗工不織布N3の製造)
実施例1で得た臭い除去触媒A 9g、8質量%ポリビニルアルコール(Mw=60000、Mw/Mn=8)水溶液6g、水9gを混合し、撹拌を行うことにより、粒子が均一に分散された塗工液を得た。スリット幅40μmのアプリケーターを用いオートフィルムアプリケーター(テスター産業株式会社製)にて、当該塗工液をPET不織布(05TH-80、広瀬製紙株式会社製)上に塗工後、80℃、10分乾燥することにより、均一に粒子が分散した塗工不織布N3を得た。塗工量は、60.7g/m2、臭い除去触媒Aの塗工量は57.6g/m2、42重量%であった。
塗工液調製・塗工(塗工不織布N3の製造)

消臭性能評価(アセトアルデヒド);
実施例1で得た臭い除去触媒A 3mgを、3Lサンプリングバック(フレックサンプラー、近江オドエアーサービス(株)製)に入れ、活性炭フィルターを通した空気2.5Lを導入し、導入口にシリコーン製キャップをした。次いで、2500vol.ppmのアセトアルデヒド/空気1mLを、ガスタイトシリンジを用いてサンプリングバックに注入し、袋内のアセトアルデヒド濃度を約1ppmになるよう調整した。40℃で24時間静置したときの臭気強度を官能評価した。評価結果を表7に示す。臭気強度は図5に示す、アセトアルデヒド濃度と臭気強度の関係から、各臭気強度のサンプルを作製し、それらとの比較から評価した。

[実施例35]
抗菌性評価;
JIS L1902に準拠して、黄色ブドウ球菌(Staphylococcus aureus NBRC12732)、大腸菌(Escherichia coli NBRC3301)を用いて抗菌性評価を行った。試験菌液は1/20ニュートリエントブロス培地を用い、菌濃度1.5×105(CFU/mL)の物を使用した。対照として標準綿布を用いた。
抗菌性評価;
JIS L1902に準拠して、黄色ブドウ球菌(Staphylococcus aureus NBRC12732)、大腸菌(Escherichia coli NBRC3301)を用いて抗菌性評価を行った。試験菌液は1/20ニュートリエントブロス培地を用い、菌濃度1.5×105(CFU/mL)の物を使用した。対照として標準綿布を用いた。
実施例23で得られた、塗工不織布N3 0.4gをバイアル瓶に入れ、塗工不織布N3に試験菌液0.2mlを滴下後、バイアル瓶のふたをし、37℃で18時間培養を行った。試験片から試験菌を洗い出し、洗い出し液中の生菌を普通寒天培地を用いて培養して、大腸菌のコロニーの数をカウントした(混釈平板培養法)。同様の操作を3回繰り返し、平均値を表10、表11に示した。抗菌活性値は下記式により算出した。なお、抗菌活性値≧2.0で抗菌性有りと判定される。

[比較例14]
実施例35において、塗工不織布N3の代わりに、不織布(05TH-80、広瀬製紙株式会社製)を用いた以外は同様の方法で抗菌性評価を実施した。結果を表10、表11に示した。

本発明の臭い除去触媒、消臭剤組成物および消臭製品は、大気中の臭気物質による臭気の軽減・除去に好適に用いることができ、たとえば自動車内などの室内の脱臭に特に好適に用いることができる。本発明の臭い除去触媒、消臭剤組成物および消臭製品は、そのままの形態で用いてもよく、樹脂等の他の素材と組み合わせて、樹脂コート材料、内装用シート材料、自動車インナーパネル等の用途に用いてもよい。また本発明の臭い除去触媒、消臭剤組成物消臭製品および本発明の臭い除去触媒または消臭剤組成物を含む抗菌・抗ウイルス性消臭製品は、特に制限なく種々の用途に適用することができ、たとえば、椅子張り地、カーテン、カーペット、タイル、壁紙、エアーフィルター、または乗り物用内装材等に適用することができる。
Claims (10)
- Ru、Rh、Pd、Os、IrおよびPtからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第1金属元素、
Al、Si、Sc、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Y、LaおよびSmからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の第2金属元素、ならびに
Ce
の酸化物を含み、前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対するCe原子の割合が15モル%以上である臭い除去触媒。 - 前記第1金属元素がRuであり、前記第2金属元素がCuである請求項1に記載の臭い除去触媒。
- 前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対する前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の割合が、それぞれ0.05~75モル%、5~79.95モル%、18~94.95モル%である請求項1または2に記載の臭い除去触媒。
- 前記第1金属元素の原子、前記第2金属元素の原子およびCe原子の合計に対する前記第1金属元素の原子の割合が0.05~10モル%である、請求項3に記載の臭い除去触媒。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の臭い除去触媒および化学吸着剤を含む消臭剤組成物。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の臭い除去触媒または請求項5に記載の消臭剤組成物を含む、消臭製品。
- 消臭繊維、消臭塗料または消臭シートである請求項6に記載の消臭製品。
- 請求項6または7に記載の消臭製品を用いた、椅子張り地、カーテン、カーペット、タイル、壁紙、エアーフィルター、または乗り物用内装材。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の臭い除去触媒または請求項5に記載の消臭剤組成物を含む、抗菌・抗ウイルス性消臭製品。
- 請求項9に記載の抗菌・抗ウイルス性消臭製品を用いた、椅子張り地、カーテン、カーペット、タイル、壁紙、エアーフィルター、または乗り物用内装材。
