Description
例えば、光触媒は、そのバンドギャップ以上のエネルギーを持つ波長の光を照射すると励起し、強い触媒活性が発現するものである。特に、有機物やNOxなどの一部無機物の酸化・分解力が大きく、エネルギー源として低コストで、環境負荷の非常に小さい光を利用できることから、近年環境浄化や脱臭、防汚、殺菌などへの応用が進められている。光触媒を使用するには、有機バインダを用いて支持体に光触媒粒子を固定したり、プラスチックに練りこんだり、衣服や紙の原料繊維と光触媒粒子とを混合し、次いで、紡糸したり、抄造して固定して用いられるが、光触媒粒子の強力な作用により、有機バインダ、支持体、プラスチック、繊維等を分解してしまい、固定強度の低下や商品の変質を招き、実用に耐えうる性能を維持できない。また、色物の衣服や紙などに光触媒を混ぜ込むと、染料の分解を生じ色あせの原因となる。そこで、光触媒粒子の表面に、細孔を有する不活性なセラミックス膜をコートして複合させたり、光触媒粒子を含むコア部を光不活性物質からなる多孔質壁で内包して複合させたりして、光触媒粒子の外側に形成した光不活性物質からなるセラミックス膜や多孔質壁を介して支持体等に固定する方法が提案されている。このような方法によれば、光触媒作用に弱い有機バインダ、支持体、プラスチックや繊維であっても、直接光触媒粒子に接触することがないので、光触媒作用の影響を受けることなく安定して光触媒粒子を固定することが可能であり、有機バインダ等の分解という光触媒の使用上の欠点を補完することができる(特許文献1、2を参照)。
そこで、本発明の目的は、複合体を構成するコア部の機能の低下を防止できる複合体を提供することにある。特に、光触媒機能を十分発揮でき、更には、その光触媒機能を損なうことなく、あらゆる支持体に強固に、かつ、長期間にわたって固定できる光触媒複合体を提供することにある。
(1)コア部の表面に被覆した無機化合物Aの上に無機化合物Bの被覆を形成し、次いで、前記無機化合物Aの少なくとも一部を除去してなる、コア部と無機化合物Bを含む複合体、
(2)コア部と無機化合物Aとなる物質を溶媒中で混合して、コア部の表面に無機化合物Aを被覆し、次いで、無機化合物Bとなる物質を添加して、無機化合物Aの上に無機化合物Bの被覆を形成し、次いで、前記無機化合物Aの少なくとも一部を除去することを特徴とするコア部と無機化合物Bを含む複合体の製造方法、
(3)前記の複合体あるいは複合体を固定した組成物に被処理対象物を接触させて分解する方法、などである。
また、無機化合物Bの存在により、コア部が有機バインダ、支持体、プラスチック、繊維等に直接接触し難いため、有機バインダ等はコア部の影響を受けることなく複合体を安定し長期間にわたって固定することが可能である。
また、無機化合物Bの被覆を均一に、しかも、強固に形成することができるため、溶媒やバインダ等と混合する際にも、被覆が破壊され難い。
更に、このような複合体は、マトリックス構造体、コア−シェル構造体、あるいはカプセル構造体などに形成することができ、しかも、従来のコア部を用いることができることから、吸着剤、触媒、光触媒、顔料、着色剤、化粧料、添加剤、充填剤、セラミックス、医薬、農薬等の種々の分野に幅広く用いられる。
特に、コア部に吸着剤、触媒、光触媒等を含む場合、その機能を十分活用することができ、複合体等に被処理対象物を接触させて効率良く分解することができる。
光触媒酸化チタン(石原産業社製、ST−41)10gを、0.08モル/lの硫酸アルミニウム水溶液500mlに懸濁させた。この懸濁液に0.8モル/lの炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液をpHが6になるまで撹拌添加し、1時間保持して、酸化チタンのコア部の表面にアルミニウム化合物層(無機化合物A)を被覆した。
その後、懸濁液を75℃に昇温し、SiO2として30g/lの珪酸ナトリウム水溶液167mlと2%の硫酸50mlを添加し、アルミニウム化合物層の上に珪素化合物(無機化合物B)を被覆した。
次いで、懸濁液に50%の硫酸をpH1になるまで添加し、90℃で1時間保持してアルミニウム化合物を溶出させた。得られた生成物を濾過分別し、純水で洗浄した後、110℃で一昼夜乾燥し、本発明の酸化チタンと珪素化合物(シリカ)の複合体(試料A)を得た。
実施例1で用いた酸化チタン(ST−41)を比較試料(試料B)とした。
実施例1において、硫酸アルミニウム、炭酸水素ナトリウムを用いないこと以外は、実施例1と同じ操作を行って、酸化チタンに珪素化合物(シリカ)を直接被覆した比較試料(試料C)を得た。
実施例1において、珪素化合物被覆後、アルミニウム化合物の溶出操作を行わないこと以外は実施例1と同じ操作を行って、酸化チタンにアルミニウム化合物と珪素化合物(シリカ)を被覆した比較試料(試料D)を得た。
特開平10−5598号公報に基づいて、比較試料を作製した。すなわち、光触媒粒子として酸化チタン(石原産業社製、ST−41)5gと、光不活性物質となる化合物として、SiO2として4モル/lの濃度の珪酸ナトリウム水溶液4.7mlと、純水5.3mlとを混合し、マグネティックスターラーで30分撹拌して酸化チタン懸濁液を作製した。一方、疎水性有機溶媒としてベンゼン100gを用い、その中に界面活性剤としてソルビダンモノステアレート(ナカライテスク社製、Span60)1gとポリオキシエチレンソルビダンモノオレート(ナカライテスク社製、Tween80)2gを溶解した疎水性有機溶媒を作製した。前記の疎水性有機溶媒25mlと前記酸化チタン懸濁液5mlを混合し、ホモジナイザーで5分間撹拌しW/O型乳濁液を得、次いで、1.5モル/lの塩化カルシウム水溶液20mlを添加した。得られた生成物を濾過分別し、メタノールで洗浄した後、110℃の温度で一昼夜乾燥した。
得られた粉体1gを1規定の塩酸水溶液10ml中に2時間浸漬した後、純水で洗浄し、110℃の温度で5時間乾燥して比較試料(試料E)を得た。
また、試料Aは電子顕微鏡写真(図1)から、酸化チタンが厚み約50〜100nm程度の珪素化合物(シリカ)層カプセルに内包されていることがわかった。一方、試料Cは電子顕微鏡写真(図2)から、コア部の表面に電子顕微鏡写真で確認できるほど十分な膜厚の珪素化合物(シリカ)被覆層が形成されていないことがわかった。また、試料Dは電子顕微鏡写真(図3)から、コア部の表面に直接アルミニウム化合物と珪素化合物の被覆が形成されていること、試料Eは電子顕微鏡写真(図4)から、珪素化合物と酸化チタンが混合した層が中空状カプセルを形成していることがわかった。このことから、珪素化合物(シリカ)被覆層の形成に関して、下地剤としてのアルミニウム化合物の被覆が有効であることがわかった。

実施例1で得られた複合体(試料A)15.1gを大日本インキ化学工業社製のアクリル樹脂(A−165−45)4.5g、トルエン3.95g、ブタノール3.95g、ガラスビーズ30gとともにペイントシェーカーで20分間振とうして十分混合、分散して本発明の複合体(試料A)を含む流動性組成物(複合体の含有量は、流動性組成物中の全固形分に対して40重量%であった。)を得た。得られた流動性組成物をチャート紙に10ミルのアプリケーターで塗布し、室温で一昼夜乾燥して本発明の固定組成物(試料F)を作製した。
実施例2において、試料Aの代わりに比較例1の試料Bを用いること以外は実施例2と同様にして、比較試料(試料G)を作製した。
実施例2において、試料Aの代わりに比較例2の試料Cを用いること以外は実施例2と同様にして、比較試料(試料H)を作製した。
実施例2において、試料Aの代わりに比較例3の試料Dを用いること以外は実施例2と同様にして、比較試料(試料I)を作製した。
実施例2において、試料Aの代わりに比較例4の試料Eを用いること以外は実施例2と同様にして、比較試料(試料J)を作製した。
一方、アルミニウム化合物と珪素化合物を被覆したもの(試料I)は、色差変化は少なく、耐光性は優れているが、その理由として、コア部がアルミニウム化合物と珪素化合物で覆われ、光触媒機能が低下しているために、色差変化が少なくなっていると考えられる。

- コア部と無機化合物Aとなる物質を溶媒中で混合して、コア部の表面に無機化合物Aを被覆し、次いで、無機化合物Bとなる物質を添加して、無機化合物Aの上に無機化合物Bの被覆を形成し、次いで、前記無機化合物Aの少なくとも一部を除去することを特徴とするコア部と無機化合物Bを含む複合体の製造方法。
- 前記の無機化合物Aの少なくとも一部を酸又はアルカリで溶解して除去することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の複合体の製造方法。
- 得られる複合体が、無機化合物Bの被覆がコア部の少なくとも一部を囲むように形成された、コア部と無機化合物Bを含むコア−シェル構造体である請求項1に記載の複合体の製造方法。

- 請求項1に記載の方法で複合体を得る工程、
得られた複合体と溶媒とを又は得られた複合体と溶媒とバインダとを混合して流動性組成物を得る工程、及び
得られた流動性組成物を支持体に塗布又は吹き付けし、次いで、乾燥するか、又は、得られた流動性組成物を支持体に練りこむ工程を含むことを特徴とする固定組成物の製造方法。 - 支持体が、金属、無機質体、紙、繊維及びプラスチックから選ばれる少なくとも一種である請求項14又は15に記載の固定組成物の製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法で複合体を得た後、得られた複合体に被処理対象物を接触させて分解する方法。
- 請求項14又は15に記載の方法で固定組成物を得た後、得られた固定組成物に被処理対象物を接触させて分解する方法。
- 請求項17又は18に記載の方法において、複合体のコア部が光触媒粒子を含み、光を照射しながら被処理対象物を接触させて分解する方法。
- 被処理対象物が環境汚染物質である請求項17又は18に記載の環境浄化方法。
