Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の一実施例であるエンドミル10を示す斜視図である。このエンドミル10は、シャンク12と刃部14とを同心に備えており、刃部14には3本の溝が設けられることにより3枚の外周切れ刃20a、20b、20c(以下、特に区別しない場合は単に外周切れ刃20という。)が形成されている。3枚の外周切れ刃20a、20b、20cの先端には、それぞれ底刃22a、22b、22c(以下、特に区別しない場合は単に底刃22という。)が連続して設けられている。エンドミル10は、シャンク12側から見て右まわりに回転駆動されることにより切削加工を行なうものである。このエンドミル10は超硬合金にて構成されているとともに、刃部14の表面には硬質被膜としてダイヤモンド被膜24がコーティングされている。ダイヤモンド被膜24は、単結晶ダイヤモンドまたは多結晶ダイヤモンドである。図1の斜線部はダイヤモンド被膜24を表している。

Claims (9)
- 複数枚の外周切れ刃を有するエンドミルにおいて、
前記外周切れ刃として、右ねじれの右ねじれ刃と、左ねじれの左ねじれ刃と、ねじれ方向が途中で左右逆転しているとともに、軸心まわりに展開した展開図において円弧状乃至は弓状に湾曲した湾曲形状を成しており、且つ該湾曲形状の凹側に切れ刃が設けられている湾曲刃と、の3種類の切れ刃を備えており、
隣り合う外周切れ刃は異なる種類の切れ刃で構成されている
ことを特徴とするエンドミル。 - 前記右ねじれ刃のねじれ角は1°~15°の範囲内で、
前記左ねじれ刃のねじれ角は1°~15°の範囲内である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンドミル。 - 前記複数枚の外周切れ刃は、普通刃、ニック刃、およびラフィング刃の中の何れか1種類で構成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のエンドミル。 - 前記外周切れ刃が周方向に等分割となる等分割位置が、該外周切れ刃をそれぞれ一定ねじれ角、一定曲率で工具軸方向へ延長したと仮定して、工具軸方向において該外周切れ刃の底刃側端部から更に先端側へ刃長の1/4離れた位置から、該外周切れ刃のシャンク側端部から更にシャンク側へ刃長の1/4離れた位置までの間の範囲内に存在する
ことを特徴とする請求項1~3の何れか1項に記載のエンドミル。 - 前記右ねじれ刃のねじれ角と前記左ねじれ刃のねじれ角との角度差は±5°以内である
ことを特徴とする請求項1~4の何れか1項に記載のエンドミル。 - 前記外周切れ刃に連続して工具先端に設けられた複数の底刃の中、少なくとも1枚は工具軸心付近に達する中心刃を備えている
ことを特徴とする請求項1~5の何れか1項に記載のエンドミル。 - 前記外周切れ刃の刃数は3枚以上、6枚以下である
ことを特徴とする請求項1~6の何れか1項に記載のエンドミル。 - 前記外周切れ刃が設けられた刃部の表面がダイヤモンド被膜で被覆されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1~7の何れか1項に記載のエンドミル。 - 前記エンドミルは超硬合金にて構成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1~8の何れか1項に記載のエンドミル。
