Definitions
- the present invention relates to a heat pipe refrigerant and a flat plate heat pipe.
- heat pipes are used in order to suppress malfunction due to heat generation.
- a heat pipe a steam diffusion passage in which a refrigerant is sealed in a closed space under reduced pressure and the refrigerant turned into steam by heat from a heat source diffuses, and a capillary flow path (wick) that sends condensed refrigerant by a capillary phenomenon.
- the provided ones are disclosed (for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).
- the heat pipe is generally composed of a metal having high thermal conductivity (for example, copper). Further, as the refrigerant to be enclosed, in addition to water having a large heat of vaporization, ethanol, methanol, acetone or the like is used.
- the enclosed refrigerant may freeze in a low temperature environment.
- volume expansion occurs, and this load may deform the heat pipe.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above matters, and an object of the present invention is to provide a heat pipe refrigerant and a flat plate heat pipe that can suppress deformation of the flat plate heat pipe.
- the refrigerant for heat pipes is A refrigerant for heat pipes enclosed in a flat plate heat pipe as a heat diffusion plate.
- the heat pipe refrigerant includes water and a deformation inhibitor that reduces the hardness of the water when it freezes.
- the deformation inhibitor is 1,4-dioxane or diethylene glycol dimethyl ether. Contains 90% by weight or more of the water The deformation inhibitor is contained in an amount of 0.5% by weight or more. It is characterized by that.
- the diethylene glycol dimethyl ether is contained in an amount of 0.5 to 5.0% by weight.
- the flat plate heat pipe according to the second aspect of the present invention is
- the heat pipe refrigerant according to the first aspect of the present invention is sealed. It is characterized by that.
- the flat plate heat pipe may contain copper as a main component.
- the flat plate heat pipe may be mainly composed of a non-metal material.
- it may have a laminated structure.
- FIG. 1 It is a block diagram of the apparatus used for the measurement of thermal resistance in an Example.
- the structure of the flat plate-shaped and laminated heat pipe produced in the examples is shown, (A), (B), and (C) are photographs showing the upper plate, the middle plate, and the lower plate, respectively, and (D) is the upper plate.
- the heat pipe refrigerant according to the present embodiment is used by being sealed in a flat plate heat pipe (hereinafter, also simply referred to as a heat pipe) as a heat diffusion plate.
- the heat pipe refrigerant evaporates on the heat absorbing side of the heat pipe, and the vapor moves to the heat radiating side of the heat pipe through the steam diffusion passage.
- the vapor of the heat pipe refrigerant is cooled and returns to the liquid phase state again through the capillary flow path (wick).
- the heat pipe refrigerant that has returned to the liquid phase moves to the endothermic side again. Due to the phase transformation and transfer of the heat pipe refrigerant, heat is transferred and heat of the heating element in which the heat pipe is installed is dissipated.
- the heat pipe refrigerant is equipped with water and a deformation inhibitor.
- the main component of the heat pipe refrigerant is water.
- Water has a large heat of vaporization and can absorb a large amount of heat, so it is useful as a refrigerant.
- water freezes and expands in volume at low temperatures.
- the heat dissipation part of the heat pipe has a structure in which water collects due to the capillary phenomenon. If the heat pipe is placed in a low temperature environment with water accumulated near the heat radiating part, a load that tries to expand the wick due to volume expansion due to freezing occurs. This load may deform the heat pipe.
- the deformation inhibitor has the function of lowering the hardness of the water in the heat pipe refrigerant when it freezes. Since the deformation inhibitor stays in a so-called sherbet shape even when water freezes at a low temperature, the deformation of the heat pipe is suppressed.
- the deformation inhibitor is specifically 1,4-dioxane or diethylene glycol dimethyl ether.
- the deformation inhibitor is preferably contained in the heat pipe refrigerant in an amount of 0.5% by weight or more. If the content of the deformation inhibitor is too small, the deformation inhibitory effect becomes small. Further, it is considered that the larger the content of the deformation suppressing agent, the greater the deformation suppressing effect. On the other hand, when the amount of the deformation inhibitor is too large, the heat of vaporization of the deformation inhibitor is smaller than that of water, so that the endothermic / heat dissipation effect may decrease.
- the deformation inhibitor is 1,4-dioxane
- it is preferably contained in an amount of 0.5 to 6.0% by weight.
- diethylene glycol dimethyl ether it is preferably contained in an amount of 0.5 to 5.0% by weight.
- the refrigerant for the heat pipe is preferably only water and a deformation inhibitor, but may contain a trace amount of other additives.
- the water content is 90% by weight or more, preferably 94% by weight or more, and the upper limit is 99.5% by weight.
- 1,4-dioxane and diethylene glycol dimethyl ether have low reactivity with copper, they can be suitably used for heat pipes containing copper as a main component.
- 1,4-dioxane and diethylene glycol dimethyl ether have excellent solubility in water, they are uniformly dispersed in water and become a homogeneous refrigerant for heat pipes. Further, since the boiling points of 1,4-dioxane and diethylene glycol dimethyl ether are close to those of water, the homogeneity of the heat pipe refrigerant is maintained even when the water is moved in the flow path due to evaporation and condensation.
- the flat plate heat pipe is filled with the above-mentioned heat pipe refrigerant.
- the heat pipe is used by being attached to a heat source.
- a heat source an IC (semiconductor integrated device), an LSI (large-scale integrated circuit device), a CPU (central processing unit), an LED element, a power device, or the like is assumed.
- the flat plate heat pipe has an internal space composed of a steam diffusion passage in which the refrigerant that has become steam diffuses and a capillary flow path that sends the condensed refrigerant by a capillary phenomenon, and the refrigerant for the heat pipe is placed in this internal space. As long as it is enclosed, there are no restrictions on the form.
- a heat pipe having a laminated structure As a form of the flat plate heat pipe, for example, a heat pipe having a laminated structure can be mentioned.
- the heat pipe having a laminated structure include the structures disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 5178274 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2019-11323. Specifically, these heat pipes are formed by laminating and joining an upper plate, a plurality of middle plates, and a lower plate, and have an internal space composed of a steam diffusion passage and a capillary passage.
- the material constituting the heat pipe is a material having high thermal conductivity such as copper and aluminum, and copper is preferable. Since the reactivity between the deformation inhibitor contained in the heat pipe refrigerant and copper is low, the endothermic and heat dissipation effects of the heat pipe can be stably maintained for a long period of time.
- the material of the heat pipe is not limited to the above, and may be a material having a low thermal conductivity or a non-metal material.
- a heat pipe having a structure as disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 5178274 is expected to function as a heat diffusion plate.
- a flat plate-shaped heat pipe filled with various refrigerants was produced. Then, the prepared heat pipe was subjected to a heat shock test and a high temperature standing test by the following method. Then, the thermal resistance immediately after the heat pipe was manufactured, the thermal resistance after the heat shock test, the thermal resistance after the high temperature standing test, and the appearance after the heat shock test were evaluated by the following evaluation methods.
- Temperature shock test The following temperature conditions were set as one cycle, and 1,000 cycles were performed for the heat pipe. Temperature conditions: -20 ° C (30 minutes) ⁇ 25 ° C (10 minutes) ⁇ 100 ° C (30 minutes) ⁇ 25 ° C (10 minutes)

熱源としては、IC(半導体集積装置)、LSI(大規模集積回路装置)、CPU(中央処理装置)、LED素子、パワーデバイス等が想定される。
