Definitions
- the invention relates to an applicator for applying a cosmetic composition to the human body, comprising a base body and an application section, the base body and the application section being made of the same material and in one piece, the application section being at least partially provided with flock fibers and a method for producing the applicator .
- an applicator is known, for example, from WO 2019/045494 A2.
- the applicator described there comprises a base body and an application section, the base body and the application section being made of the same material and in one piece.
- the surface of the application section is at least partially curved and the application section is partially provided with flock fibers.
- an applicator which is partially curved and partially provided with flock fibers.
- the applicator has two sections which are joined after flocking.
- Such applicators are mostly used in connection with the application of liquefied cosmetics in the facial area.
- Flocked applicators are used, for example, to take up and apply lip gloss, but also for mascara, eyebrow, concealer and foundation or to apply hair care products.
- the applicator is immersed in a cosmetics container for picking up and application, with the cosmetics on the flock fibers after the applicator has been pulled out adheres and is then applied to parts of the body, especially areas of the face.
- the targeted application of cosmetics can be more difficult, depending on the application.
- the invention is based on the object of providing an applicator for applying a cosmetic composition to the human body, which applicator enables cosmetics to be applied to the human body in a targeted manner.
- the applicator according to the invention for applying a cosmetic composition to the human body comprises a base body and an application section, the base body and the application section being made of the same material and in one piece, the surface of the application section being at least partially curved, the application section having first sections which at least partially have a curved surface and are provided with flock fibers, and having second sections which are at least partially curved and are free of flock fibers.
- the applicator according to the invention results in areas which are provided with flock fibers and areas which are free from flock fibers.
- the base body and the application section are made of the same material and are made in one piece.
- the base body and application section are preferably made of injection-mouldable plastic and can thus be manufactured inexpensively and in large numbers. Because the base body and the application section are made of the same material and in one piece, it is in particular not necessary to assemble components thereof separately in the course of the lowering position of the applicator.
- the flocked applicator is free of longitudinal joints. in the In the circumferential area in the area of the applicator tip, the applicator is compact and has a closed and partially flocked surface.
- the applicator according to the invention is compact. There is no need to design a film hinge in order to pivot differently flocked areas relative to one another.
- the application section is only partially provided with flock fibers.
- the application section has curved, that is, three-dimensional, surface sections that are provided with flock fibers, and the application section has further curved and three-dimensional surface sections that are free from flock fibers.
- the application section is partially provided with flock fibers, cosmetics to be applied adhering particularly well in the sections provided with flock fibers, whereas in the second sections, which are free from flock fibers, only a small amount of cosmetics adhere.
- the applicator can be guided in such a way that either a large amount of cosmetics is applied by means of the flocked section or a small amount of cosmetics is applied by means of the non-flocked section. This enables a targeted application of cosmetics in the desired quantities.
- flock fibers can only be arranged in those areas of the applicator that are required for applying cosmetics.
- applicators are provided with flock fibers over the entire application section, including areas that are not suitable for applying cosmetics.
- the flocked areas always contain loose, loose flock fibers and insufficiently fastened flock fibers. These unbound flock fibers can get into cosmetics or on parts of the body.
- only the application-active areas of the application section can be provided with flock fibers. This reduces the amount of flock fibers, including the amount of unbound flock fibers.
- the second sections represent functional areas.
- the functional areas can be contact areas represent where the applicator comes into contact with other elements. This can be advantageous in the course of the manufacture of the applicator or during the intended use.
- a three-dimensional marking is made in the second section. It is particularly conceivable that the marking is made in the second section by means of laser engraving. Such a marking is particularly filigree and so far could not be arranged on application sections because the adhesive bed, which covered the entire application section, also covers filigree structures and markings. In the applicator according to the invention, however, the second section is free of adhesive so that filigree structures remain visible.
- the marking in this context it is conceivable for the marking to be designed as a stamp.
- the application section When immersed, the application section is wetted with cosmetics. If the application section then passes a scraper, the cosmetics can be stripped from the second section in such a way that cosmetics only remain in the depressions of the marking, so that the marking is clearly visible. It is also conceivable that the marking is raised and protrudes beyond the surface.
- An advantageous cosmetic packaging comprises an applicator according to the invention, a container with an opening and a wiper which is assigned to the opening.
- the wiper is designed to wipe off cosmetics from the applicator when it is pulled out of the container.
- the amount applied can also be varied particularly well in that the application section is at least partially curved both in the flocked sections and in the unflocked sections and has a three-dimensional shape.
- the first sections and / or the second sections can have convex or concave surfaces.
- the convex surfaces enable a particularly simple application of cosmetics.
- the concave surface sections enable a particularly large amount of cosmetics to be accommodated.
- the first sections can have concavely curved surfaces, the concavely curved surfaces being provided with flock fibers.
- the concave sections forming a depression can accommodate particularly large amounts of cosmetics. If the concave sections are provided with flock fibers, the result is particularly good flowability for the cosmetics received in the concave sections, so that they can be applied in a targeted manner and losses during the application movement can be avoided.
- the second sections can have convexly curved surfaces, the convexly curved surfaces being free from flock fibers.
- cosmetics are mainly transported via the concave sections, which enables cosmetics to be applied in a particularly targeted manner.
- the application section can have a cylindrical shaft and a spherically curved free end.
- the application section can be attached particularly easily to a rod-shaped applicator via the cylindrical shaft.
- the spherically curved free end enables the targeted application of cosmetics.
- first sections can be arranged within the second sections. This arrangement results in island-like, flocked sections which are at least partially curved and enable a particularly targeted application of even a particularly small amount of cosmetics to delimited body areas.
- the first sections and the second sections can be strip-shaped.
- First sections and second sections can alternate here.
- the first sections and the second sections can be arranged on the application section running in the axial direction. In this embodiment, there are areas around the applicator in which a larger amount of cosmetics can be taken up, these areas each being adjacent to areas with a small amount of cosmetics.
- a region of the application section assigned to the first section can be designed in the shape of a spatula, wherein the surface of the spatula-shaped region can extend at an angle of more than 0 ° to the main axis of the application section.
- a region that is spatulate-shaped is angled or kinked relative to the axis of the application section.
- the spatula-shaped area resulting therefrom enables a targeted application of even a larger amount of cosmetics.
- the surface of the spatula-shaped section is curved convexly or concavely.
- the fiber length of the flock fibers is at least 0.7 mm, preferably 1.0 mm. With flock fibers with a fiber length of 1.5 mm, good results are also achieved, but fibers with a length of more than 2.5 mm are less advantageous.
- a fiber length of at least 0.7 mm results in relatively long flock fibers, which on the one hand produce a particularly soft and pleasant feel and on the other hand also enable a particularly large amount of cosmetics to be taken up.
- the flock fibers are preferably cut flock fibers. Chopped flock fibers obtained by cutting from fibers. When using flock fibers with a fiber length of at least 0.7 mm it is possible to use cut flock fibers, which have a particularly good material quality and a uniform fiber length. Flock fibers with a smaller fiber length, for example with a fiber length of less than 0.3 mm, cannot be produced by means of cutting and are mostly ground. Fibers of this type have a lower material quality due to their production, in particular due to a production-related scatter in the fiber lengths.
- the fineness of the flock fibers is preferably at least 3.3 dtex.
- Such flock fibers have a soft feel with a fiber length of at least 0.7 mm and allow a large amount of cosmetics to be taken up.
- Fibers with a fiber fineness of more than 12 dtex have a bristle-like handle and are accordingly not preferred for the applicator according to the invention and its use.
- the flock fibers can be attached to the application section by means of an adhesive layer, the thickness of the adhesive layer being at least 0.07 mm, preferably 0.1 mm.
- the adhesive bed into which the flock fibers are immersed must have a certain thickness. It has been shown here that the thickness of the adhesive bed should be about 1/10 of the length of the flock fibers. Accordingly, the thickness of the adhesive layer should be at least 0.07 mm for a fiber length of 0.7 mm.
- the second sections are free of adhesive. This can prevent flock fibers from adhering in the second sections, which are free from flock fibers.
- the base body and the application section are made of uniform material and in one piece; in a second step, the application section is provided with an adhesive in such a way that first sections are wetted with the adhesive and second sections are free of adhesive, in a third step flock fibers are applied to the application section in an electrostatic flocking process, the flock fibers dipping into the adhesive applied to the first section and adhering and the second sections remaining free of flock fibers.
- Flock fibers with a fiber length of at least 0.7 mm are preferably used, and the thickness of the adhesive layer is at least 0.07 mm.
- the application of an adhesive layer with such a layer thickness cannot be implemented with a transfer method, for example by means of a transfer stamp. Therefore, in the method according to the invention, a dipping method is preferably used, in which the applicator dips into a tool and is partially provided there with an adhesive.
