- Cut-off frequency f c is the square root of the modulation sensitivity Kv of the operating point of the VCO 5, proportional to the product of the transfer characteristic, and the charge pump current of the loop filter. Therefore, a change in the modulation sensitivity Kv causes a change in the cutoff frequency fc in the PLL loop.

- the frequency compensation voltage VT and the charge pump current are operated at fixed and optimized fixed values within the operation cycle. When an ambient temperature change or the like occurs, the adjustment process is performed again (details will be described later).
- the frequency compensation voltage generating unit 34 to generate a frequency compensation voltage V T is applied to the frequency compensation pin 52 of the VCO 5 (step S101).
- the frequency compensation voltage V T is set in step S101, the initial value of the frequency compensation voltage V T.
- a predetermined center value or the like is set in consideration of the characteristics of the VCO 5.
- the setting value may be a value stored in a memory or the like.
- the division number setting unit 10 and the frequency divider control unit 6 set the oscillation frequency of the VCO 5 near the center of the modulation frequency during normal PLL operation (step S102). For example, when the frequency division number N is set by the frequency division number setting unit 10 and the frequency division control unit 6, the oscillation frequency f of the VCO 5 is synchronized with the reference signal 61 by the PLL loop, and is N times the frequency of the reference signal frequency. Lock to. PLL 16 operates, (step S103) in a state where the modulation frequency is locked in the PLL 16, the modulation control voltage detecting unit 32, the modulation control voltage V P at PLL 16 is detected (step S104). Then, the frequency compensation control unit 30, a known oscillation frequency f is set by the frequency division number N, and based on the detected V P value, to calculate the Kv value (step S105).
- step S104 the two points of the frequency f 1, f 2 in the vicinity of the center of the modulation frequency during normal PLL operation, V P value corresponding to each is detected. That, V P1 is detected V P value when the operating frequency f 1, V P2 is detected V P value when the operating frequency f 2.
- the operating frequencies f 1 and f 2 are set by the frequency division number N given to the frequency divider 7 by the frequency division number setting unit 10 and the frequency divider control unit 6.
- step S105 the frequency compensation control unit 30 calculates a Kv value using the following equation (1).
- the frequency compensation control unit 30 determines whether the Kv value calculated in step S105 is within a target range (step S106). If the calculated Kv value is not a value within the target range (step S106, No), the process proceeds to step S107. In step S107, it is determined whether the Kv value calculated in step S105 is smaller than the lower limit of the target range. If Kv value is smaller than the lower limit of the target range (step S107, Yes), the frequency compensation control unit 30 updates the value of the frequency compensation voltage V T, resets the frequency compensation voltage V T of the updated (hereinafter , Update and reset are collectively referred to as “reset”). Resetting of the frequency compensation voltage V T is performed by increasing the value of the frequency compensation voltage V T previously calculated (step S108).

Abstract

Description

プロセッサ201は、演算装置、マイクロプロセッサ、マイクロコンピュータ、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、又はDSP(Digital Signal Processor)といった演算手段であってもよい。また、メモリ202として、RAM(Random Access Memory)、ROM(Read Only Memory)、フラッシュメモリ、EPROM(Erasable Programmable ROM)、EEPROM(登録商標)(Electrically EPROM)といった不揮発性又は揮発性の半導体メモリを例示することができる。
Kv=(f2-f1)/(VP2-VP1) …(1)
Kv={f2(1)-f1(1)}/{VP2(1)-VP1(1)}…(2)
VP1(2)に対応するP1(2)と、VP2(2)に対応するP2(2)とが、新たな動作点となる。
Kv={f2(2)-f1(2)}/{VP2(2)-VP1(2)}…(3)
Icp1=√(Kv0/Kv1)×Icp0 …(4)
