Abstract

La présente invention concerne une procédé pour cintrer le flanc d'une plaque d'acier. Le procédé permet, par soumission du flanc de sens largeur (Sc, Sd) de la plaque d'acier (S) à un cintrage répété au moyen d'une paire de matrices (23, 24) pendant que la plaque d'acier (S) est transportée par intermittence par un mécanisme de transport (21), de cintrer le flanc de sens largeur (Sc, Sd) de la plaque d'acier (S) sur toute sa longueur. Parmi la paire de matrices (23, 24), la matrice (24), située sur le côté qui est en contact avec la surface du flanc de sens largeur (Sc, Sd) de la plaque d'acier (S) qui est cintré et qui constituera l'extérieur du cintrage, comporte une zone plate (24a) qui entre en contact avec le côté qui devient l'extérieur du cintrage pendant le cintrage. Le flanc de sens largeur (Sc, Sd) de la plaque d'acier (S) est cintré dans un état dans lequel le centre (C1) de ladite zone plate dans la direction de transport (1) a été décalé vers l'aval (3) dans la direction de transport (1) par rapport au centre (C2), dans la direction de transport (1), de la force de pression produite par un actionneur.
