以下に記載する構成要件の説明は、本発明の代表的な実施態様に基づいてなされることがあるが、本発明はそのような実施態様に限定されるものではない。
なお、本明細書において、「~」を用いて表される数値範囲は、「~」の前後に記載される数値を下限値および上限値として含む範囲を意味する。
また、本明細書において、式で表される化合物における基の表記に関して、置換または無置換を記していない場合、その基がさらに置換基を有することが可能な場合には、他に特に規定がない限り、その基は、無置換の基のみならず、置換基を有する基も包含する。例えば、式において、「Rはアルキル基、アリール基または複素環基を表す」との記載があれば、「Rは無置換アルキル基、置換アルキル基、無置換アリール基、置換アリール基、無置換複素環基または置換複素環基を表す」ことを意味する。
本発明の平版印刷版原版は、アルミニウム支持体と、アルミニウム支持体上に配置された画像記録層と、を有する平版印刷版原版である。
また、本発明の平版印刷版原版が有するアルミニウム支持体は、アルミニウム板と、アルミニウム板上に配置されたアルミニウムの陽極酸化皮膜とを含む。
また、本発明の平版印刷版原版が有する画像記録層は、アルミニウム支持体の陽極酸化皮膜側に配置されている。
更に、本発明の平版印刷版原版は、非接触三次元粗さ計を用いて、アルミニウム支持体の画像記録層側の表面の400μm×400μmの範囲を測定して得られる、中心線からの深さが0.70μm以上である凹部(以下、「特定凹部」とも略す。)の密度が3000個/mm2以上である。
更に、本発明の平版印刷版原版は、原子間力顕微鏡を用いて、アルミニウム支持体の画像記録層側の表面の25μm×25μmの範囲を512×512点測定して得られる3次元データから近似三点法により求められる実面積Sxと、幾何学的測定面積S0とから、下記式(1)により算出される表面積比ΔSが35%以上であることが好ましい。

本発明において、中心線からの深さが0.70μm以上である凹部の密度は、以下のようにして測定した値をいう。
まず、非接触三次元粗さ計(例えば、VertScan、(株)菱化システム製)を用いて、アルミニウム支持体の画像記録層側の表面の400μm×400μmの範囲を、非接触で、分解能0.01μmで走査して3次元データを求める。
次いで、得られた3次元データをソフトウェア(例えば、SXビュア、(株)菱化システム製)を用いて画像解析し、得られる中心線からの深さが0.70μm以上である凹部の個数を求める。
測定は1サンプルにつき、5箇所測定し、その平均値を求め、単位面積(μm2)当たりの個数に換算し、凹部の密度とする。
本発明において、表面積比ΔSは、原子間力顕微鏡(Atomic Force Microscope:AFM)を用いて、アルミニウム支持体の画像記録層側の表面の25μm×25μmの範囲を512×512点測定して得られる3次元データから近似三点法により求められる実面積Sxと、幾何学的測定面積S0とから、下記式(1)により算出される値である。

具体的には、アルミニウム支持体を1cm角の大きさに切り取って、ピエゾスキャナー上の水平な試料台にセットし、カンチレバーを試料表面にアプローチし、原子間力が働く領域に達したところで、XY方向にスキャンし、その際、試料の凹凸をZ方向のピエゾの変位でとらえる。ピエゾスキャナーは、XY方向について150μm、Z方向について10μm、走査可能なものを使用する。カンチレバーは共振周波数130~200kHz、バネ定数7~20N/mのもの(OMCL-AC200-TS、オリンパス社製)を用い、DFMモード(Dynamic Force Mode)で測定する。また、求めた3次元データを最小二乗近似することにより試料のわずかな傾きを補正し基準面を求める。
また、計測は、表面の25×25μmを512×512点測定する。X方向の分解能は0.05μm、Y方向の分解能は、Y方向は1.9μ、Z方向の分解能は1nm、スキャン速度は18μm/secとする。
このように小点耐刷性が良好となる理由は、詳細には明らかではないが、およそ以下のとおりと推測される。
すなわち、特定凹部を3000個/mm2以上有することにより、凹部に入り込んだ画像記録層が摩耗し難くなり、また、凹部が多く、アンカー効果によって密着性も向上するため、小点画像部の細りが起こり難くなったと考えられる。これは、実施例1と比較例1および2との対比から推察することができる。
また、表面積比ΔSが35%以上であることにより、アルミニウム支持体と画像記録層との接触面積が増加し、界面密着力が向上するため、小点画像部の細りがより起こり難くなったと考えられる。
ここで、小波凹部の平均開口径は、陽極酸化皮膜の表面を倍率5万倍の電界放出型走査電子顕微鏡(Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope:FE-SEM)でN=3枚観察し、得られた3枚の各画像において、4μm2の範囲に存在する、0.01μm以上0.5μm以下の凹部(ピット)の直径をN=30個測定し、トータルで90個の凹部の直径を平均した値である。
なお、小波凹部の形状が円状でない場合は、円相当径を用いる。「円相当径」とは、開口部の形状を、開口部の投影面積と同じ投影面積をもつ円と想定したときの当該円の直径である。
また、L*a*b*表色系におけるa*の値は、-4~4であることが好ましく、b*の値は、-4~4であることが好ましい。
ここで、L*a*b*表色系のL*、a*およびb*は、色彩色差計(例えば、CR-221、コニカミノルタ(株)製)を用いて、5回測定した際の平均値を採用する。
図1に示す平版印刷版原版10は、アルミニウム支持体12aと、アルミニウム支持体12a上に配置された画像記録層16とを有しており、図1に示す通り、アルミニウム支持体12aと画像記録層16との間に、更に下塗り層14を有していることが好ましい。
図2は、アルミニウム支持体12aの一実施形態の模式的断面図である。アルミニウム支持体12aは、アルミニウム板18とアルミニウムの陽極酸化皮膜20a(以下、単に「陽極酸化皮膜20a」とも略す。)とをこの順で積層した積層構造を有する。なお、アルミニウム支持体12a中の陽極酸化皮膜20aは、画像記録層16側に位置する。つまり、平版印刷版原版10は、アルミニウム板18、陽極酸化皮膜20a、下塗り層14、および、画像記録層16をこの順で有する。
また、陽極酸化皮膜20aは、図2に示す通り、その表面からアルミニウム板18側に向かってのびるマイクロポア22aを有していることが好ましい。なお、ここではマイクロポアという用語は、陽極酸化皮膜中のポアを表す一般的に使われる用語であり、ポアのサイズを規定するものではない。
なお、後段で詳述するように、下塗り層14は必須の構成ではなく、必要に応じて配置される層である。
以下、平版印刷版原版10の各構成について詳述する。
アルミニウム板18(アルミニウム支持体)は、寸度的に安定なアルミニウムを主成分とする金属であり、アルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金からなる。アルミニウム板18としては、純アルミニウム板、アルミニウムを主成分とし微量の異元素を含む合金板、または、アルミニウム(合金)がラミネートもしくは蒸着されたプラスチックフィルムもしくは紙が挙げられる。
アルミニウム板18としては、その組成が制限されるものではなく、公知公用の素材のもの(例えば、JIS A 1050、JIS A 1100、JIS A 3103、および、JIS A 3005)を適宜利用できる。
陽極酸化皮膜20aは、陽極酸化処理によってアルミニウム板18の表面に一般的に作製される皮膜であって、この皮膜は、皮膜表面に略垂直であり、かつ、個々が均一に分布した極微細なマイクロポア22aを有していることが好ましい。マイクロポア22aは、画像記録層16側の陽極酸化皮膜20a表面(アルミニウム板18側とは反対側の陽極酸化皮膜20a表面)から厚み方向(アルミニウム板18側)に沿ってのびる。
マイクロポア22aの平均径は、陽極酸化皮膜20a表面を倍率15万倍の電界放出型走査電子顕微鏡(FE-SEM)でN=4枚観察し、得られた4枚の画像において、400×600nm2の範囲に存在するマイクロポアの径(直径)を測定し、平均した値である。
なお、マイクロポア22aの形状が円状でない場合は、円相当径を用いる。「円相当径」とは、開口部の形状を、開口部の投影面積と同じ投影面積をもつ円と想定したときの円の直径である。
なお、上記深さは、陽極酸化皮膜20aの断面の写真(15万倍)をとり、25個以上のマイクロポア22aの深さを測定し、平均した値である。
下塗り層14は、アルミニウム支持体12aと画像記録層16との間に配置される層であり、両者の密着性を向上させる。なお、上述したように、下塗り層14は、必要に応じて設けられる層であり、平版印刷版原版に含まれていなくてもよい。
ここで、ポリビニルホスホン酸としては、米国特許第3,276,868号明細書、同第4,153,461号明細書および同第4,689,272号明細書に開示されているものを用いることができる。
ここで、ベタイン構造とは、少なくとも1つのカチオンと少なくとも1つのアニオンとを有する構造をいう。なお、通常、カチオンの数とアニオンの数とは等しく、全体として中性であるが、本発明では、カチオンの数とアニオンの数とが等しくない場合は、電荷を打ち消すために、必要な量のカウンターイオンを有することも、ベタイン構造とする。
ベタイン構造は、次に示す式(1)、式(2)、および、式(3)で表される構造のいずれかであることが好ましい。
A-は、カルボキシラート、スルホナート、ホスホナート、および、ホスフィナート等のアニオンを有する構造を表すことが好ましく、B+は、アンモニウム、ホスホニウム、ヨードニウム、および、スルホニウム等のカチオンを有する構造を表すことが好ましい。
上記連結基は、後述の有してもよい置換基の炭素数を含めて、炭素数30以下の連結基であることが好ましい。
上記連結基の具体例としては、アルキレン基(好ましくは炭素数1~20、より好ましくは炭素数1~10)、並びに、フェニレン基およびキシリレン基等のアリーレン基(好ましくは炭素数5~15、より好ましくは炭素数6~10)が挙げられる。
置換基としては、ハロゲン原子、ヒドロキシル基、カルボキシル基、アミノ基、シアノ基、アリール基、アルコキシ基、アリールオキシ基、アシル基、アルコキシカルボニル基、アリールオキシカルボニル基、アシルオキシ基、モノアルキルアミノ基、ジアルキルアミノ基、モノアリールアミノ基、および、ジアリールアミノ基が挙げられる。
環構造は、酸素原子等のヘテロ原子を有していてもよい。環構造としては、5~10員環が好ましく、5または6員環がより好ましい。
R1およびR2中の炭素数は、1~30が好ましく、1~20がより好ましい。
R1およびR2として、本発明の効果がより優れる点で、水素原子、メチル基、または、エチル基が好ましい。
L1としては、炭素数3~5の直鎖アルキレン基が好ましい。
具体的には、以下の構造が挙げられる。
B+は、カチオンを有する構造を表し、アンモニウム、ホスホニウム、ヨードニウム、または、スルホニウムを有する構造が好ましい。中でも、アンモニウムまたはホスホニウムを有する構造が好ましく、アンモニウムを有する構造がより好ましい。
カチオンを有する構造としては、例えば、トリメチルアンモニオ基、トリエチルアンモニオ基、トリブチルアンモニオ基、ベンジルジメチルアンモニオ基、ジエチルヘキシルアンモニオ基、(2-ヒドロキシエチル)ジメチルアンモニオ基、ピリジニオ基、N-メチルイミダゾリオ基、N-アクリジニオ基、トリメチルホスホニオ基、トリエチルホスホニオ基、および、トリフェニルホスホニオ基が挙げられる。
A-は、アニオンを有する構造を表し、カルボキシラート、スルホナート、ホスホナート、または、ホスフィナートが好ましく、その詳細および好ましい例は、式(i)におけるA-と同様である。
R3~R7は、それぞれ独立に、水素原子または置換基(好ましくは炭素数1~30)を表し、R3~R7の少なくとも1つは、連結部位を表す。
連結部位であるR3~R7の少なくとも1つは、R3~R7の少なくとも1つとしての置換基を介して化合物中の他の部位へ連結してもよいし、単結合により化合物中の他の部位へ直結してもよい。
二価の連結基としては、-CO-、-O-、-NH-、二価の脂肪族基、二価の芳香族基、または、それらの組み合わせが挙げられる。

二価の芳香族基としては、アリール基が挙げられ、フェニレン基またはナフチレン基が好ましい。
特に、式(A1)においては、LはL1またはL3であり、Xは式(i)で表される構造であり、式(i)中のA-がスルホナート基である組み合わせが好ましい。
特定高分子は、アルミニウム支持体12aの表面と相互作用する構造(以後、単に「相互作用構造」とも称する)を有する繰り返し単位を含んでいてもよい。
相互作用構造としては、例えば、カルボン酸構造、カルボン酸塩構造、スルホン酸構造、スルホン酸塩構造、ホスホン酸構造、ホスホン酸塩構造、リン酸エステル構造、リン酸エステル塩構造、β-ジケトン構造、および、フェノール性水酸基が挙げられ、例えば、下記に示す式で表される構造が挙げられる。中でも、カルボン酸構造、カルボン酸塩構造、スルホン酸構造、スルホン酸塩構造、ホスホン酸構造、ホスホン酸塩構造、リン酸エステル構造、または、リン酸エステル塩構造が好ましい。
Lは、単結合、または、二価の連結基を表す。二価の連結基としては、-CO-、-O-、-NH-、二価の脂肪族基、二価の芳香族基、または、それらの組み合わせが挙げられる。
組み合わせからなるLの具体例としては、上記式(A1)と同じもの、および、下記L17およびL18が挙げられる。

L1~L18の中では、L1~L4、L17、または、L18が好ましい。
Qは相互作用構造を表し、好ましい態様は上述したものと同じである。
ラジカル重合性反応性基としては、付加重合可能な不飽和結合基(例えば、(メタ)アクリロイル基、(メタ)アクリルアミド基、(メタ)アクリロニトリル基、アリル基、ビニル基、ビニルオキシ基、および、アルキニル基)、および、連鎖移動が可能な官能基(メルカプト基等)が挙げられる。
ラジカル重合性反応性基を有する繰り返し単位を含む特定高分子は、特開2001-312068号公報に記載の方法でラジカル重合性反応性基を導入することで得ることができる。ラジカル重合性反応性基を有する繰り返し単位を含む特定高分子を用いることにより、未露光部では優れた現像性を発現し、露光部では重合によって現像液の浸透性が抑制され、アルミニウム支持体12aと画像記録層16との間の接着性および密着性がさらに向上する。
例えば、下塗り層は、親水性基を有する化合物を含む形態であってもよい。親水性基としては、カルボン酸基、スルホン酸基等が挙げられる。
親水性基を有する化合物は、さらに、ラジカル重合性反応性基を有していてもよい。
画像記録層16としては、印刷インキおよび/または湿し水により除去可能な画像記録層であることが好ましい。
以下、画像記録層16の各構成成分について説明する。
画像記録層16は、赤外線吸収剤を含むことが好ましい。
赤外線吸収剤は、750~1400nmの波長域に極大吸収を有することが好ましい。特に、機上現像型の平版印刷版原版では、白灯下の印刷機で機上現像される場合があるため、白灯の影響の受けにくい750~1400nmの波長域に極大吸収を有する赤外線吸収剤を用いることにより、現像性に優れた平版印刷版原版を得ることができる。
赤外線吸収剤としては、染料または顔料が好ましい。
染料としては、具体的には、シアニン色素、スクアリリウム色素、ピリリウム塩、ニッケルチオレート錯体、および、インドレニンシアニン色素が挙げられる。中でも、シアニン色素またはインドレニンシアニン色素が好ましく、シアニン色素がより好ましく、下記式(a)で表されるシアニン色素がさらに好ましい。
X2は酸素原子または硫黄原子を表し、L1はヘテロ原子(N、S、O、ハロゲン原子、Se)を含んでいてもよい炭素数1~12の炭化水素基を表す。
Xa -は後述するZa -と同様に定義され、Raは、水素原子、アルキル基、アリール基、アミノ基、また、ハロゲン原子を表す。
Ar1およびAr2は、それぞれ独立に、置換基(例えば、アルキル基)を有していてもよい芳香族炭化水素基を表す。芳香族炭化水素基としては、ベンゼン環基またはナフタレン環基が好ましい。
Y1およびY2は、それぞれ独立に、硫黄原子または炭素数12個以下のジアルキルメチレン基を表す。
R3およびR4は、それぞれ独立に、置換基(例えば、アルコキシ基)を有していてもよい炭素数20個以下の炭化水素基を表す。
R5、R6、R7およびR8は、それぞれ独立に、水素原子または炭素数12個以下の炭化水素基を表す。
また、Za-は、対アニオンを表す。ただし、式(a)で示されるシアニン色素が、その構造内にアニオン性の置換基を有し、電荷の中和が必要ない場合にはZa-は必要ない。Za-としては、ハロゲン化物イオン、過塩素酸イオン、テトラフルオロボレートイオン、ヘキサフルオロホスフェートイオン、および、スルホン酸イオンが挙げられ、過塩素酸イオン、ヘキサフルオロホスフェートイオン、または、アリールスルホン酸イオンが好ましい。
画像記録層16は、重合開始剤を含むことが好ましい。
重合開始剤としては、光、熱またはその両方のエネルギーによりラジカルを発生し、重合性の不飽和基を有する化合物の重合を開始する化合物(いわゆる、ラジカル重合開始剤)が好ましい。重合開始剤としては、例えば、光重合開始剤、および、熱重合開始剤が挙げられる。
重合開始剤としては、具体的には、特開2009-255434号公報の段落[0115]~[0141]に記載される重合開始剤が使用できる。
なお、重合開始剤として、反応性および安定性の点から、オキシムエステル化合物、または、ジアゾニウム塩、ヨードニウム塩、および、スルホニウム塩等のオニウム塩が好ましい。
画像記録層16は、重合性化合物を含むことが好ましい。
重合性化合物としては、少なくとも1個のエチレン性不飽和結合を有する付加重合性化合物が好ましい。中でも、末端エチレン性不飽和結合を少なくとも1個(好ましくは2個)以上有する化合物がより好ましい。いわゆる、ラジカル重合性化合物がより好ましい。
重合性化合物としては、例えば、特開2009-255434号公報の段落[0142]~[0163]に例示される重合性化合物が使用できる。

画像記録層16は、バインダーポリマーを含むことが好ましい。
バインダーポリマーとしては、公知のバインダーポリマーが挙げられる。バインダーポリマーとしては、具体的には、アクリル樹脂、ポリビニルアセタール樹脂、ポリウレタン樹脂、ポリウレア樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、メタクリル樹脂、ポリスチレン系樹脂、ノボラック型フェノール系樹脂、ポリエステル樹脂、合成ゴム、および、天然ゴムが挙げられる。
バインダーポリマーは、画像部の皮膜強度を向上するために、架橋性を有していてもよい。バインダーポリマーに架橋性を持たせるためには、エチレン性不飽和結合等の架橋性官能基を高分子の主鎖中または側鎖中に導入すればよい。架橋性官能基は、共重合により導入してもよい。
バインダーポリマーとしては、例えば、特開2009-255434号公報の段落[0165]~[0172]に開示されるバインダーポリマーを使用できる。
画像記録層16は、印刷開始時の機上現像性を促進させるため、および、塗布面状を向上させるために、界面活性剤を含んでいてもよい。
界面活性剤としては、ノニオン性界面活性剤、アニオン性界面活性剤、カチオン性界面活性剤、両性界面活性剤、および、フッ素系界面活性剤が挙げられる。
界面活性剤としては、例えば、特開2009-255434号公報の段落[0175]~[0179]に開示される界面活性剤を使用できる。
他の化合物としては、特開2009-255434号公報の段落[0181]~[0190]に開示される着色剤、焼き出し剤、重合禁止剤、高級脂肪酸誘導体、可塑剤、無機微粒子、および、低分子親水性化合物等が挙げられる。
また、他の化合物としては、特開2012-187907号公報の段落[0191]~[0217]に開示される、疎水化前駆体(熱が加えられたときに画像記録層を疎水性に変換できる微粒子)、低分子親水性化合物、感脂化剤(例えば、ホスホニウム化合物、含窒素低分子化合物、アンモニウム基含有ポリマー)、連鎖移動剤、ボレート化合物、酸発色剤、も挙げられる。
なお、酸発色剤とは、電子受容性化合物(例えば、酸等のプロトン)を受容した状態で加熱することにより、発色する性質を有する化合物を意味する。酸発色剤としては、ラクトン、ラクタム、サルトン、スピロピラン、エステル、または、アミド等の部分骨格を有し、電子受容性化合物と接触した時に、速やかにこれらの部分骨格が開環または開裂する無色の化合物が好ましい。酸発色剤としては、スピロピラン化合物、スピロオキサジン化合物、スピロラクトン化合物、および、スピロラクタム化合物よりなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の化合物であることが好ましい。
また、画像記録層は、微粒子形状の高分子化合物を含んでいてもよく、熱可塑性ポリマー粒子を含んでいてもよい。
熱可塑性ポリマー粒子を構成するポリマーとしては、エチレン、スチレン、塩化ビニル、アクリル酸メチル、アクリル酸エチル、メタクリル酸メチル、メタクリル酸エチル、塩化ビニリデン、アクリロニトリル、ビニルカルバゾール、ポリアルキレン構造を有するアクリレート、および、ポリアルキレン構造を有するメタクリレート等のモノマーのホモポリマー若しくはコポリマーまたはそれらの混合物が挙げられる。中でも、ポリスチレン、スチレンおよびアクリロニトリルを含む共重合体、または、ポリメタクリル酸メチルが好ましい。
本発明の平版印刷版原版は、上述したアルミニウム支持体12a、下塗り層14、および、画像記録層16以外の他の層を含んでいてもよい。
例えば、画像記録層16における傷等の発生防止、酸素遮断、および、高照度レーザー露光時のアブレーション防止のため、必要に応じて、画像記録層16の上に保護層を含んでいてもよい。
保護層に用いられる材料としては、例えば、特開2009-255434号公報の段落[0213]~[0227]等に記載される材料(水溶性高分子化合物、無機質の層状化合物等)が挙げられる。
本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、上述した本発明の平版印刷版原版に用いるアルミニウム支持体の製造方法である。
ここで、本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、アルミニウム板に対して、硫酸濃度が0.1~2.0g/Lとなる塩酸処理液中で交流電解を施し、粗面化されたアルミニウム板を作製する塩酸電解処理工程を有する。
また、本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、上記塩酸電解処理工程後に、粗面化されたアルミニウム板に対して、陽極酸化処理を施し、アルミニウム板上にアルミニウムの陽極酸化皮膜を形成する陽極酸化処理工程を有していることが好ましい。
更に、本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、上記陽極酸化処理工程後に、陽極酸化皮膜が形成されたアルミニウム板に対して、エッチング処理を施し、陽極酸化皮膜中のマイクロポアの径を拡大させるポアワイド処理工程を有していることが好ましい。
以下、上述した各工程ならびに任意の処理について詳述する。
本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、塩酸電解処理工程の前に、機械的粗面化処理を施していてもよい。
機械的粗面化処理方法としては、例えば、アルミニウム表面を金属ワイヤーでひっかくワイヤーブラシグレイン法、研磨球と研磨剤でアルミニウム表面を砂目立てするボールグレイン法、特開平6-135175号公報および特公昭50-40047号公報に記載されているナイロンブラシと研磨剤で表面を砂目立てするブラシグレイン法を用いることができる。
本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法が有する塩酸電解処理工程は、アルミニウム板に対して、硫酸濃度が0.1~2.0g/Lとなる塩酸処理液中で交流電解を施し、粗面化されたアルミニウム板を作製する工程である。
本発明においては、このような塩酸電解処理を施し、後述する陽極酸化処理を施すことにより、アルミニウム支持体の画像記録層側の表面が、特定凹部を3000個/mm2以上有する。
また、本発明においては、塩酸処理液中の上記硫酸濃度は、0.1~1.5g/Lであることが好ましく、0.2~1.5g/Lであることがより好ましい。
図3は、塩酸電解処理に用いられる交番波形電流波形図の一例を示すグラフである。
図3において、taはアノード反応時間、tcはカソード反応時間、tpは電流が0からピークに達するまでの時間、Iaはアノードサイクル側のピーク時の電流、Icはカソードサイクル側のピーク時の電流である。台形波において、電流が0からピークに達するまでの時間tpは1~10msecが好ましい。塩酸電解処理に用いる交流の1サイクルの条件が、アルミニウム板のアノード反応時間taとカソード反応時間tcの比tc/taが1~20、アルミニウム板がアノード時の電気量Qcとアノード時の電気量Qaの比Qc/Qaが0.3~20、アノード反応時間taが5~1000msec、の範囲にあるのが好ましい。電流密度は台形波のピーク値で電流のアノードサイクル側Ia、カソードサイクル側Icともに10~200A/dm2が好ましい。Ic/Iaは、0.3~20が好ましい。
図4は、交流を用いた塩酸電解処理におけるラジアル型セルの一例を示す側面図である。
図4において、50は主電解槽、51は交流電源、52はラジアルドラムローラ、53aおよび53bは主極、54は電解液供給口、55は電解液、56はスリット、57は電解液通路、58は補助陽極、60は補助陽極槽、Wはアルミニウム板である。電解槽を2つ以上用いるときには、電解条件は同じでもよいし、異なっていてもよい。
アルミニウム板Wは主電解槽50中に浸漬して配置されたラジアルドラムローラ52に巻装され、搬送過程で交流電源51に接続する主極53aおよび53bにより電解処理される。電解液55は、電解液供給口54からスリット56を通じてラジアルドラムローラ52と主極53aおよび53bとの間の電解液通路57に供給される。主電解槽50で処理されたアルミニウム板Wは、次いで、補助陽極槽60で電解処理される。この補助陽極槽60には補助陽極58がアルミニウム板Wと対向配置されており、電解液55が補助陽極58とアルミニウム板Wとの間の空間を流れるように供給される。
本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、上述した機械的粗面化処理を施した場合の機械的粗面化処理の後や、上述した塩酸電解処理工程の前後に、アルカリエッチング処理を施すことが好ましい。
なお、塩酸電解処理より前に行われるアルカリエッチング処理は、機械的粗面化処理を行っていない場合には、アルミニウム基材(圧延アルミ)の表面の圧延油、汚れ、自然酸化皮膜等を除去することを目的として、また、既に機械的粗面化処理を行っている場合には、機械的粗面化処理によって生成した凹凸のエッジ部分を溶解させ、急峻な凹凸を滑らかなうねりを持つ表面に変えることを目的として行われる。
本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、塩酸電解処理またはアルカリエッチング処理を行った後、表面に残留する腐食性生物を除去するために酸洗い(デスマット処理)が行われるのが好ましい。
用いられる酸としては、例えば、硝酸、硫酸、塩酸等が一般的であるが、その他の酸を用いてもよい。
上記デスマット処理は、例えば、上記アルミニウム基材を塩酸、硝酸、硫酸等の濃度0.5~30質量%の酸性溶液(アルミニウムイオン0.01~5質量%を含有する。)に接触させることにより行う。
アルミニウム基材を酸性溶液に接触させる方法としては、例えば、アルミニウム基材を酸性溶液を入れた槽の中を通過させる方法、アルミニウム基材を酸性溶液を入れた槽の中に浸せきさせる方法、酸性溶液をアルミニウム基材の表面に噴きかける方法が挙げられる。
デスマット処理後のアルミニウム基材の表面状態は、その後の自然酸化皮膜成長に影響するため、酸の選択や、濃度、温度条件は、目的に応じて適宜選定される。
本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法は、上述した各処理の工程終了後には水洗を行うことが好ましい。特に工程最後に行う水洗は、その後の自然酸化皮膜成長に影響するため、純水、井水、水道水等を用い、十分に行う必要がある。
上記陽極酸化処理工程は、上述した塩酸電解処理工程後に、粗面化されたアルミニウム板に対して、陽極酸化処理を施し、アルミニウム板上にアルミニウムの陽極酸化皮膜を形成する工程である。
ここで、上記陽極酸化処理工程の手順は、特に限定されず、公知の方法が挙げられる。
陽極酸化処理工程においては、硫酸、リン酸、および、シュウ酸等の水溶液を電解浴として用いることができる。例えば、硫酸の濃度は、100~300g/Lが挙げられる。
陽極酸化処理の条件は使用される電解液によって適宜設定されるが、例えば、液温5~70℃(好ましくは10~60℃)、電流密度0.5~60A/dm2(好ましくは5~60A/dm2)、電圧1~100V(好ましくは5~50V)、電解時間1~100秒(好ましくは5~60秒)、および、皮膜量0.1~5g/m2(好ましくは0.2~3g/m2)が挙げられる。
上記ポアワイド処理工程は、上述した陽極酸化処理工程後に、陽極酸化皮膜が形成されたアルミニウム板に対して、エッチング処理を施し、陽極酸化皮膜中のマイクロポアの径を拡大させる処理(孔径拡大処理)工程である。
ポアワイド処理は、上述した陽極酸化処理工程により得られたアルミニウム板を、酸水溶液またはアルカリ水溶液に接触させることにより行うことができる。接触させる方法は特に制限されず、例えば、浸せき法およびスプレー法が挙げられる。
上述した本発明の平版印刷版原版を製造する方法は、上述した本発明のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法に引き続き、以下の工程を順番に実施する製造方法が好ましい。
(下塗り層形成工程)ポアワイド処理工程で得られたアルミニウム支持体上に下塗り層を形成する工程
(画像記録層形成工程)下塗り層上に画像記録層を形成する工程
以下、各工程の手順について詳述する。
下塗り層形成工程は、ポアワイド処理工程で得られたアルミニウム支持体上に下塗り層を形成する工程である。
下塗り層の製造方法は特に制限されず、例えば、所定の化合物(例えば、ベタイン構造を有する化合物)を含む下塗り層形成用塗布液をアルミニウム支持体の陽極酸化皮膜上に塗布する方法が挙げられる。
下塗り層形成用塗布液には、溶媒が含まれることが好ましい。溶媒としては、水または有機溶媒が挙げられる。
下塗り層形成用塗布液の塗布方法としては、公知の種々の方法が挙げられる。例えば、バーコーター塗布、回転塗布、スプレー塗布、カーテン塗布、ディップ塗布、エアナイフ塗布、ブレード塗布、および、ロール塗布が挙げられる。
下塗り層の塗布量(固形分)は、0.1~100mg/m2が好ましく、1~50mg/m2がより好ましい。
画像記録層形成工程は、下塗り層上に画像記録層を形成する工程である。
画像記録層の形成方法は特に制限されず、例えば、所定の成分(上述した、赤外線吸収剤、重合開始剤、重合性化合物等)を含む画像記録層形成用塗布液を下塗り層上に塗布する方法が挙げられる。
画像記録層形成用塗布液には、溶媒が含まれることが好ましい。溶媒としては、水または有機溶媒が挙げられる。
画像記録層形成用塗布液の塗布方法は、下塗り層形成用塗布液の塗布方法として例示した方法が挙げられる。
画像記録層の塗布量(固形分)は、用途によって異なるが、一般的に0.3~3.0g/m2が好ましい。
例えば、図5に示すように、アルミニウム支持体12bが、アルミニウム板18と、大径孔部24と小径孔部26とから構成されるマイクロポア22bを有する陽極酸化皮膜20bとを含む形態であってもよい。
陽極酸化皮膜20b中のマイクロポア22bは、陽極酸化皮膜表面から深さ10~1000nm(深さD:図5参照)の位置までのびる大径孔部24と、大径孔部24の底部と連通し、連通位置からさらに深さ20~2000nmの位置までのびる小径孔部26とから構成される。
以下に、大径孔部24と小径孔部26について詳述する。
大径孔部24の陽極酸化皮膜20b表面における平均径の測定方法は、陽極酸化皮膜20a中のマイクロポア22aの陽極酸化皮膜表面における平均径の測定方法と同じである。
なお、上記深さは、陽極酸化皮膜20bの断面の写真(15万倍)をとり、25個以上の大径孔部24の深さを測定し、平均した値である。
小径孔部26の連通位置における平均径は、13nm以下が好ましい。中でも、11nm以下が好ましく、10nm以下がより好ましい。下限は特に制限されないが、5nm以上の場合が多い。
なお、小径孔部26の形状が円状でない場合は、円相当径を用いる。「円相当径」とは、開口部の形状を、開口部の投影面積と同じ投影面積をもつ円と想定したときの円の直径である。
なお、上記深さは、陽極酸化皮膜20bの断面の写真(5万倍)をとり、25個以上の小径孔部の深さを測定し、平均した値である。
(塩酸電解処理工程)アルミニウム板に上述した塩酸電解処理を施す工程
(第1陽極酸化処理工程)粗面化処理されたアルミニウム板を陽極酸化する工程
(ポアワイド処理工程)第1陽極酸化処理工程で得られた陽極酸化皮膜を有するアルミニウム板を、酸水溶液またはアルカリ水溶液に接触させ、陽極酸化皮膜中のマイクロポアの径を拡大させる工程
(第2陽極酸化処理工程)ポアワイド処理工程で得られたアルミニウム板を陽極酸化する工程
各工程の手順は、公知の方法を参照できる。
下塗り層を設けない場合、アルミニウム支持体上に親水化処理を施した後、画像記録層を形成してもよい。
親水化処理としては、特開2005-254638号公報の段落[0109]~[0114]に開示される公知の方法が挙げられる。中でも、ケイ酸ソーダおよびケイ酸カリ等のアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩の水溶液に浸漬させる方法、または、親水性ビニルポリマーまたは親水性化合物を塗布して親水性の下塗層を形成させる方法により、親水化処理を行うのが好ましい。
ケイ酸ソーダおよびケイ酸カリ等のアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩の水溶液による親水化処理は、米国特許第2,714,066号明細書および米国特許第3,181,461号明細書に記載されている方法および手順に従って行うことができる。
次に、平版印刷版原版を用いて平版印刷版を製造する方法について記載する。
平版印刷版の製造方法は、通常、平版印刷版原版を画像様に露光(画像露光)し、露光部と未露光部とを形成する露光工程と、画像様露光された平版印刷版原版の未露光部を除去する工程とを有する。
より具体的には、平版印刷版の製造方法の一つの態様は、平版印刷版原版を画像様に露光(画像露光)し、露光部と未露光部とを形成する露光工程と、pH2~12の現像液により平版印刷版原版の未露光部を除去する除去工程と、を含む平版印刷版の製造方法が挙げられる。
また、平版印刷版の製造方法の他の一つの態様は、平版印刷版原版を画像様に露光(画像露光)し、露光部と未露光部とを形成する露光工程と、印刷インキおよび湿し水の少なくとも一方を供給して、印刷機上で画像様露光された平版印刷版原版の未露光部を除去する機上現像工程と、を含む平版印刷版の製造方法が挙げられる。
以下、これらの態様について詳述する。
光源の波長は、750~1400nmが好ましい。波長750~1400nmの光を出射する光源の場合は、この波長領域に吸収を有する増感色素である赤外線吸収剤を含む画像記録層が好ましく用いられる。
波長750~1400nmの光を出射する光源としては、赤外線を放射する固体レーザーおよび半導体レーザーが挙げられる。赤外線レーザーに関しては、出力は100mW以上が好ましく、1画素当たりの露光時間は20マイクロ秒以内が好ましく、照射エネルギー量は10~300mJ/cm2が好ましい。また、露光時間を短縮するためマルチビームレーザーデバイスを用いることが好ましい。露光機構は、内面ドラム方式、外面ドラム方式、および、フラットベッド方式のいずれでもよい。
画像露光は、プレートセッター等を用いて常法により行うことができる。なお、後述する機上現像方式の場合には、平版印刷版原版を印刷機に装着した後、印刷機上で平版印刷版原版の画像露光を行ってもよい。
現像液処理方式においては、画像露光された平版印刷版原版は、pHが2~14の現像液により処理され、非露光部の画像記録層が除去されて平版印刷版が製造される。
現像液としては、リン酸基、ホスホン酸基およびホスフィン酸基よりなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1つ以上の酸基と、1つ以上のカルボキシル基とを有する化合物(特定化合物)を含み、pHが5~10である現像液が好ましい。
従来の現像処理においては、前水洗工程により保護層を除去し、次いでアルカリ性現像液により現像を行い、その後、後水洗工程でアルカリを除去し、ガム引き工程でガム処理を行い、乾燥工程で乾燥する。
なお、現像およびガム引きを1液で同時に行うこともできる。ガムとしては、ポリマーが好ましく、水溶性高分子化合物、および、界面活性剤がより好ましい。
さらに、前水洗工程も行うことなく、保護層の除去、現像およびガム引きを1液で同時に行うことが好ましい。また、現像およびガム引きの後に、スクイズローラーを用いて余剰の現像液を除去した後、乾燥を行うことが好ましい。
浸漬は、現像液が溜まった現像液槽中に露光済みの平版印刷版原版をくぐらせてもよいし、露光済みの平版印刷版原版の版面上にスプレー等から現像液を吹き付けてもよい。
なお、現像液に2回以上浸漬する場合であっても、同じ現像液、または、現像液と現像処理により画像記録層の成分の溶解または分散した現像液(疲労液)とを用いて2回以上浸漬する場合は、1液での現像処理(1液処理)という。
現像処理は、常法に従って、好ましくは0℃~60℃、より好ましくは15℃~40℃の温度で、例えば、露光処理した平版印刷版原版を現像液に浸漬してブラシで擦る、または、外部のタンクに仕込んだ処理液をポンプで汲み上げてスプレーノズルから吹き付けてブラシで擦る等により行うことができる。これらの現像処理は、複数回続けて行うこともできる。例えば、外部のタンクに仕込んだ現像液をポンプで汲み上げてスプレーノズルから吹き付けてブラシで擦った後に、再度スプレーノズルから現像液を吹き付けてブラシで擦る等により行うことができる。自動現像機を用いて現像処理を行う場合、処理量の増大により現像液が疲労してくるので、補充液または新鮮な現像液を用いて処理能力を回復させることが好ましい。
機上現像方式においては、画像露光された平版印刷版原版は、印刷機上で印刷インキと湿し水とを供給することにより、非画像部の画像記録層が除去されて平版印刷版が製造される。
即ち、平版印刷版原版を画像露光後、なんらの現像液処理を施すことなく、そのまま印刷機に装着するか、または、平版印刷版原版を印刷機に装着した後、印刷機上で画像露光し、ついで、印刷インキと湿し水とを供給して印刷すると、印刷途上の初期の段階で、非画像部においては、供給された印刷インキおよび/または湿し水によって、未露光部の画像記録層が溶解または分散して除去され、その部分に親水性の表面が露出する。一方、露光部においては、露光により硬化した画像記録層が、親油性表面を有する油性インキ受容部を形成する。最初に版面に供給されるのは、印刷インキでもよく、湿し水でもよいが、湿し水が除去された画像記録層成分によって汚染されることを防止する点で、最初に印刷インキを供給することが好ましい。
このようにして、平版印刷版原版は印刷機上で機上現像され、そのまま多数枚の印刷に用いられる。つまり、本発明の印刷方法の一態様としては、平版印刷版原版を画像様に露光し、露光部と未露光部とを形成する露光工程と、印刷インキおよび湿し水の少なくとも一方を供給して、印刷機上で画像様露光された平版印刷版原版の未露光部を除去し、印刷を行う印刷工程とを有する印刷方法が挙げられる。
厚さ0.3mmの材質1Sのアルミニウム板(アルミニウム合金板)に対し、下記(A)から(D)のいずれかの処理を施し、アルミニウム支持体を製造した。なお、全ての処理工程の間には水洗処理を施し、水洗処理の後にはニップローラで液切りを行った。
<処理A>
(A-a)アルカリエッチング処理
アルミニウム板に、カセイソーダ濃度26質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度6.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度70℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。その後、スプレーによる水洗を行った。後に電気化学的粗面化処理を施す面のアルミニウム溶解量は、10g/m2であった。
次に、酸性水溶液中でデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、硫酸150g/Lの水溶液を用いた。その液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーにより吹き付けて、3秒間デスマット処理した。その後、水洗処理を行った。
次に、塩酸濃度13g/L、アルミニウムイオン濃度15g/L、硫酸濃度2g/Lの電解液を用い、交流電流を用いて電解粗面化処理を行った。電解液の液温は30℃であった。アルミニウムイオン濃度は塩化アルミニウムを添加して調整した。
交流電流の波形は正と負の波形が対称な正弦波であり、周波数は60Hz、交流電流1周期におけるアノード反応時間とカソード反応時間は1:1、電流密度は交流電流波形のピーク電流値で75A/dm2であった。また、電気量はアルミニウム板がアノード反応に預かる電気量の総和で450C/dm2であり、電解処理は112.5C/dm2ずつ4秒間の通電間隔を開けて4回に分けて行った。アルミニウム板の対極にはカーボン電極を用いた。その後、水洗処理を行った。
電気化学的粗面化処理後のアルミニウム板を、カセイソーダ濃度5質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度0.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度25℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。電気化学的粗面化処理が施された面のアルミニウムの溶解量は0.2g/m2であった。その後、水洗処理を行った。
次に、酸性水溶液中でのデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、陽極酸化処理工程で発生した廃液(硫酸170g/L水溶液中にアルミニウムイオン5.0g/L溶解)を用いた。液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーに吹き付けて3秒間デスマット処理を行った。
図6に示す構造の直流電解による陽極酸化装置を用いて第1段階の陽極酸化処理を行った。表1に示す条件にて陽極酸化処理を行い、所定の皮膜厚の陽極酸化皮膜を形成し、アルミニウム支持体を作製した。
実施例1の(A-c)塩酸電解処理における塩酸水溶液中の硫酸濃度および周波数、(A-d)アルカリエッチング処理の条件および有無、ならびに、(A-f)陽極酸化処理の電解液、温度、電流密度および皮膜量を下記表1に示す値に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様の方法により、アルミニウム支持体を作製した。なお、下記表1中、実施例1、23および24は、下塗り層の種類が異なる実施例であるため、アルミニウム支持体としては同じであり、実施例26および27は、画像記録層の種類が異なる実施例であるため、アルミニウム支持体としては同じである。
<処理B>
(B-a)アルカリエッチング処理
アルミニウム板に、カセイソーダ濃度26質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度6.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度70℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。その後、スプレーによる水洗を行った。後に電気化学的粗面化処理を施す面のアルミニウム溶解量は、10g/m2であった。
次に、酸性水溶液中でデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、硫酸150g/Lの水溶液を用いた。その液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーにより吹き付けて、3秒間デスマット処理した。その後、水洗処理を行った。
次に、塩酸濃度13g/L、アルミニウムイオン濃度15g/L、硫酸濃度3g/Lの電解液を用い、交流電流を用いて電解粗面化処理を行った。電解液の液温は30℃であった。アルミニウムイオン濃度は塩化アルミニウムを添加して調整した。交流電流の波形は正と負の波形が対称な正弦波であり、周波数は60Hz、交流電流1周期におけるアノード反応時間とカソード反応時間は1:1、電流密度は交流電流波形のピーク電流値で75A/dm2であった。また、電気量はアルミニウム板がアノード反応に預かる電気量の総和で450C/dm2であり、電解処理は112.5C/dm2ずつ4秒間の通電間隔を開けて4回に分けて行った。アルミニウム板の対極にはカーボン電極を用いた。その後、水洗処理を行った。
電気化学的粗面化処理後のアルミニウム板を、カセイソーダ濃度5質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度0.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度25℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。電気化学的粗面化処理が施された面のアルミニウムの溶解量は0.2g/m2であった。その後、水洗処理を行った。
次に、酸性水溶液中でのデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、陽極酸化処理工程で発生した廃液(硫酸170g/L水溶液中にアルミニウムイオン5.0g/L溶解)を用いた。液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーに吹き付けて3秒間デスマット処理を行った。
図6に示す構造の直流電解による陽極酸化装置を用いて第1段階の陽極酸化処理を行った。表1に示す条件にて陽極酸化処理を行い、所定の皮膜厚の陽極酸化皮膜を形成した。
上記陽極酸化処理したアルミニウム板を、カセイソーダ濃度5質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度0.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液に表1に示す条件にて浸漬し、ポアワイド処理を行った。その後、スプレーによる水洗を行い、アルミニウム支持体を作製した。
<処理C>
(C-a)アルカリエッチング処理
アルミニウム板に、カセイソーダ濃度26質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度6.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度70℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。その後、スプレーによる水洗を行った。後に電気化学的粗面化処理を施す面のアルミニウム溶解量は、10g/m2であった。
次に、酸性水溶液中でデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、硫酸150g/Lの水溶液を用いた。その液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーにより吹き付けて、3秒間デスマット処理した。その後、水洗処理を行った。

電気化学的粗面化処理後のアルミニウム板を、カセイソーダ濃度5質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度0.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度25℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。電気化学的粗面化処理が施された面のアルミニウムの溶解量は0.2g/m2であった。その後、水洗処理を行った。
次に、酸性水溶液中でのデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、陽極酸化処理工程で発生した廃液(硫酸170g/L水溶液中にアルミニウムイオン5.0g/L溶解)を用いた。液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーに吹き付けて3秒間デスマット処理を行った。
図6に示す構造の直流電解による陽極酸化装置を用いて第1段階の陽極酸化処理を行った。表1に示す条件にて陽極酸化処理を行い、所定の皮膜厚の陽極酸化皮膜を形成した。
上記陽極酸化処理したアルミニウム板を、カセイソーダ濃度5質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度0.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液に表1に示す条件にて浸漬し、ポアワイド処理を行った。その後、スプレーによる水洗を行った。
図6に示す構造の直流電解による陽極酸化装置を用いて第2段階の陽極酸化処理を行った。表1に示す条件にて陽極酸化処理を行い、所定の皮膜厚の陽極酸化皮膜を形成し、アルミニウム支持体を作製した。
<処理D>
(D-a)アルカリエッチング処理
アルミニウム板に、カセイソーダ濃度26質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度6.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度70℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。その後、スプレーによる水洗を行った。後に電気化学的粗面化処理を施す面のアルミニウム溶解量は、10g/m2であった。
次に、酸性水溶液中でデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、硫酸150g/Lの水溶液を用いた。その液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーにより吹き付けて、3秒間デスマット処理した。その後、水洗処理を行った。
次に、塩酸濃度13g/L、アルミニウムイオン濃度15g/L、硫酸濃度0.6g/Lの電解液を用い、交流電流を用いて電解粗面化処理を行った。電解液の液温は30℃であった。アルミニウムイオン濃度は塩化アルミニウムを添加して調整した。交流電流の波形は正と負の波形が対称な正弦波であり、周波数は60Hz、交流電流1周期におけるアノード反応時間とカソード反応時間は1:1、電流密度は交流電流波形のピーク電流値で75A/dm2であった。また、電気量はアルミニウム板がアノード反応に預かる電気量の総和で450C/dm2であり、電解処理は112.5C/dm2ずつ4秒間の通電間隔を開けて4回に分けて行った。アルミニウム板の対極にはカーボン電極を用いた。その後、水洗処理を行った。
電気化学的粗面化処理後のアルミニウム板を、カセイソーダ濃度5質量%、アルミニウムイオン濃度0.5質量%のカセイソーダ水溶液を、温度25℃でスプレー管により吹き付けてエッチング処理を行った。電気化学的粗面化処理が施された面のアルミニウムの溶解量は表1に記載の量であった。その後、水洗処理を行った。
次に、酸性水溶液中でのデスマット処理を行った。デスマット処理に用いる酸性水溶液は、陽極酸化処理工程で発生した廃液(硫酸170g/L水溶液中にアルミニウムイオン5.0g/L溶解)を用いた。液温は30℃であった。デスマット液はスプレーに吹き付けて3秒間デスマット処理を行った。
図6に示す構造の直流電解による陽極酸化装置を用いて第1段階の陽極酸化処理を行った。表1に示す条件にて陽極酸化処理を行い、所定の皮膜厚の陽極酸化皮膜を形成した。
図6に示す構造の直流電解による陽極酸化装置を用いて第2段階の陽極酸化処理を行った。表1に示す条件にて陽極酸化処理を行い、所定の皮膜厚の陽極酸化皮膜を形成し、アルミニウム支持体を作製した。
実施例1の(A-c)塩酸電解処理における塩酸水溶液中の硫酸濃度、および、(A-d)アルカリエッチング処理の条件を下記表1に示す値に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様の方法により、アルミニウム支持体を作製した。
特許文献1(特開2005-262530号公報)の[0158]~[0166]段落に記載された内容に従って、アルミニウム支持体を作製した。
また、作製したアルミニウム支持体について、マイクロポアを有する陽極酸化皮膜中の大径孔部の陽極酸化皮膜表面における平均径(表層平均径)、小径孔部の連通位置における平均径(内部平均径)、ならびに、大径孔部および小径孔部の深さを、上述した方法により測定した。これらの結果を下記表2に示す。なお、下記表2中、表層平均径および内部平均径が同じ値である例は、第2の陽極酸化処理を施さなかった例である。
作製した各アルミニウム支持体の陽極酸化皮膜表面に対して、以下に詳述する処理A~処理Cのいずれかを実施した。なお、各実施例および比較例で採用した処理の種類は、下記表2に示す通りであり、実施例27については、下塗り層を形成しなかったため、「-」と表記している。
アルミニウム支持体上に、下塗り層形成用塗布液1を乾燥塗布量が20mg/m2になるよう塗布して、下塗り層を形成した。
なお、下塗り層形成用塗布液1は、以下の構造式の高分子(0.5g)、日本エマルジョン(株)製の界面活性剤(エマレックス710)1質量%水溶液(0.86g)、および、水(500g)を含んでいた。なお、各構成単位の括弧の右下の数値は、質量%を表す。
アルミニウム支持体を、4g/Lのポリビニルホスホン酸を含む40℃の水溶液(pH=1.9)に10秒間浸漬した。その後、アルミニウム支持体を取り出して、20℃のカルシウムイオンを含む脱塩水で2秒間洗浄し、乾燥した。処理後、アルミニウム支持体上のP量およびCa量は、それぞれ25mg/m2および1.9mg/m2であった。
アルミニウム支持体上に、下塗り層形成用塗布液2を乾燥塗布量が20mg/m2になるよう塗布して、下塗り層を形成した。
なお、下塗り層形成用塗布液2は、以下の構造式の高分子(0.5g)、日本エマルジョン(株)製の界面活性剤(エマレックス710)1質量%水溶液(0.86g)、および、水(500g)を含んでいた。なお、各構成単位の括弧の右下の数値は、質量%を表す。
下塗り層を形成したアルミニウム支持体上に、以下に詳述する画像記録層A~Cを形成した。なお、各画像記録層の形成方法は以下の通りであり、各実施例および比較例で採用した画像記録層の種類は、下記表2に示す通りである。
アルミニウム支持体上に、下記組成の画像記録層形成用塗布液Aをバー塗布した後、100℃にて60秒間でオーブン乾燥し、乾燥塗布量1.0g/m2の画像記録層を形成した。
画像記録層形成用塗布液Aは、下記感光液(1)およびミクロゲル液(1)を塗布直前に混合し攪拌することにより得た。

下記構造の多官能イソシアナート(三井化学(株)製;75質量%酢酸エチル溶液)4.46g、トリメチロールプロパン(6モル)とキシレンジイソシアナート(18モル)とを付加させ、これにメチル片末端ポリオキシエチレン(1モル、なおオキシエチレン単位の繰り返し数は90)を付加させた付加体(三井化学(株)製;50質量%酢酸エチル溶液)10g、ペンタエリスリトールトリアクリレート(日本化薬(株)製、SR444)3.15g、および、パイオニンA-41C(竹本油脂(株)製)0.1gを酢酸エチル17gに溶解させ、油相成分を得た。また、ポリビニルアルコール((株)クラレ製PVA-205)の4質量%水溶液40gを調製して、水相成分を得た。
油相成分および水相成分を混合し、ホモジナイザーを用いて12000rpmで10分間乳化した。得られた乳化物を蒸留水25gに添加し、得られた溶液を室温で30分間攪拌後、さらに、50℃で3時間攪拌した。得られたミクロゲルの固形分濃度を、15質量%になるように蒸留水を用いて希釈し、これをミクロゲル(1)とした。ミクロゲル(1)の平均粒径を光散乱法により測定したところ、平均粒径は0.2μmであった。
アルミニウム支持体上に、下記組成の画像記録層形成用塗布液Bを塗布した後、50℃にて60秒間乾燥し、乾燥塗布量1.0g/m2の画像記録層を形成した。
画像記録層形成用塗布液Bは、熱可塑性樹脂粒子、赤外線吸収剤IR-01、ポリアクリル酸、および、界面活性剤を含み、pHが3.6であった。
熱可塑性樹脂粒子:スチレン/アクリロニトリル共重合体(モル比50/50)、平均粒径:61nm
赤外線吸収剤IR-01:下記構造の赤外線吸収剤(Etはエチル基を表す。)
界面活性剤:Zonyl FSO100(Du Pont社製)
熱可塑性樹脂粒子:0.69(g/m2)
赤外線吸収剤IR-01:1.03×10-4(mol/m2)
ポリアクリル酸:0.09(g/m2)
界面活性剤:0.0075(g/m2)
アルミニウム支持体上に、下記組成の画像記録層形成用塗布液Cをバー塗布した後、100℃にて60秒間でオーブン乾燥し、乾燥塗布量1.0g/m2の画像記録層を形成した。
・重合性化合物1:0.15質量部
・重合性化合物2:0.1質量部
・グラフトコポリマー2:0.825質量部
・Klucel M(Hercules社製):0.020質量部
・Irgacure 250(BASF社製):0.032質量部
・赤外線吸収剤(1):0.02質量部
・テトラフェニルホウ酸ナトリウム:0.03質量部
・Byk 336(Byk Chemie社製):0.015質量部
・Black-XV(山本化成(株)):0.04質量部
・n-プロパノール:7.470質量部
・水:1.868質量部
重合性化合物2:ATM-4E(新中村化学工業(株)製、エトキシ化ペンタエリスリトールテトラアクリレート)
グラフトコポリマー2:ポリ(エチレングリコール)メチルエーテルメタクリレート/スチレン/アクリロニトリル=10:9:81のグラフトコポリマーのポリマー粒子であり、これを、n-プロパノール/水の質量比が80/20である溶媒中に、24質量%含有している分散体である。また、その体積平均粒径は193nmである。
赤外線吸収剤(1):以下化合物
上記画像記録層上に、さらに下記組成の保護層塗布液(1)をバーコーター塗布した後、120℃にて60秒間でオーブン乾燥し、乾燥塗布量0.15g/m2の保護層を形成し、平版印刷版原版を作製した。
・無機質層状化合物分散液(1) 1.5g
・ポリビニルアルコール(日本合成化学工業(株)製CKS50、スルホン酸変性、
けん化度99モル%以上、重合度300)6質量%水溶液 0.55g
・ポリビニルアルコール((株)クラレ製PVA-405、けん化度81.5モル%、重合度500)6質量%水溶液 0.03g
イオン交換水193.6質量部に合成雲母ソマシフME-100(コープケミカル(株)製)6.4質量部を添加し、ホモジナイザーを用いて平均粒径(レーザー散乱法)が3μmになるまで分散した。得られた分散粒子のアスペクト比は100以上であった。
(1)耐刷性
得られた平版印刷版原版を赤外線半導体レーザー搭載の富士フイルム(株)製Luxel PLATESETTER T-6000IIIにて、外面ドラム回転数1000rpm、レーザー出力70%、および、解像度2400dpiの条件で露光した。露光画像にはベタ画像および20μmドットFM(Frequency Modulation)スクリーンの3%網点チャートを含むようにした。
得られた露光済み平版印刷版原版を現像処理することなく、(株)小森コーポレーション製印刷機LITHRONE26の版胴に取り付けた。Ecolity-2(富士フイルム(株)製)/水道水=2/98(容量比)の湿し水とValues-G(N)墨インキ(大日本インキ化学工業(株)製)とを用い、LITHRONE26の標準自動印刷スタート方法で湿し水とインキとを供給して機上現像した後、毎時10000枚の印刷速度で、特菱アート(76.5kg)紙に印刷を行った。
印刷枚数を増やしていくと徐々に画像記録層が磨耗するため、印刷物上のインキ濃度が低下した。
ベタ画像の濃度が薄くなり始めたと目視で認められた時点の印刷枚数により、ベタ耐刷性として評価した。
また、印刷物におけるFMスクリーン3%網点の網点面積率をグレタグ濃度計で計測した値が印刷100枚目の計測値よりも20%低下したときの印刷部数を刷了枚数として小点耐刷性を評価した。結果を下記表2に示す。
上記(1)で得られた平版印刷版を用い、上記(1)と同様の方法で印刷を行い、1万枚印刷した後における非画像部のブランケットの汚れをテープに転写し、1cm2あたりのインキ汚れ面積が1%未満のものを「100」と評価し、1%以上2%未満のものを「90」と評価し、2%以上4%未満のものを「80」と評価し、4%以上6%未満のものを「70」と評価した。結果を下記表2に示す。
検版性は、L*a*b*表色系のL値(明度)を用い、露光部のL値と未露光部のL値の差ΔLで表記した。ΔLの値が大きい程、検版性が優れることを意味する。測定は、KONICA-MINOLTA製分光測色計CM2600dとオペレーションソフトCM-S100Wを用い、SCE(正反射光除去)方式で行った。結果を下記表2に示す。
これに対し、アルミニウム支持体の画像記録層側の表面が、特定凹部を3000個/mm2以上有することにより、平版印刷版としたときに小点耐刷性が良好となることが分かった(実施例1~32)。

Claims (21)
- アルミニウム支持体と、前記アルミニウム支持体上に配置された画像記録層と、を有する平版印刷版原版であって、
前記アルミニウム支持体が、アルミニウム板と、前記アルミニウム板上に配置されたアルミニウムの陽極酸化皮膜とを含み、
前記画像記録層が、前記アルミニウム支持体の前記陽極酸化皮膜側に配置され、
非接触三次元粗さ計を用いて、前記アルミニウム支持体の前記画像記録層側の表面の400μm×400μmの範囲を測定して得られる、中心線からの深さが0.70μm以上である凹部の密度が3000個/mm2以上であり、
原子間力顕微鏡を用いて、前記アルミニウム支持体の前記画像記録層側の表面の25μm×25μmの範囲を512×512点測定して得られる3次元データから近似三点法により求められる実面積Sxと、幾何学的測定面積S0とから、下記式(1)により算出される表面積比ΔSが35%以上である、平版印刷版原版。

- 前記陽極酸化皮膜が、前記アルミニウム板とは反対側の表面から深さ方向にのびるマイクロポアを有し、
前記マイクロポアの前記陽極酸化皮膜表面における平均径が10~150nmである、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の平版印刷版原版。 - 前記マイクロポアの前記陽極酸化皮膜表面における平均径が10~100nmである、請求項4に記載の平版印刷版原版。
- 前記マイクロポアが、前記陽極酸化皮膜表面から深さ10~1000nmの位置までのびる大径孔部と、前記大径孔部の底部と連通し、連通位置から深さ20~2000nmの位置までのびる小径孔部とから構成され、
前記大径孔部の前記陽極酸化皮膜表面における平均径が15~60nmであり、
前記小径孔部の前記連通位置における平均径が13nm以下である、請求項5に記載の平版印刷版原版。 - 前記アルミニウム支持体と、前記画像記録層との間に、更に下塗り層を有し、

前記下塗り層が、ベタイン構造を含む化合物を含有する、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の平版印刷版原版。 - 請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載の平版印刷版原版を画像様に露光し、露光部と未露光部とを形成する露光工程と、
画像様露光された前記平版印刷版原版の未露光部を除去する除去工程と、を含む、平版印刷版の製造方法。 - 請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載の平版印刷版原版を画像様に露光し、露光部と未露光部とを形成する露光工程と、
印刷インキおよび湿し水の少なくとも一方を供給して、印刷機上で画像様露光された前記平版印刷版原版の未露光部を除去し、印刷を行う印刷工程と、を含む、印刷方法。 - 請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載の平版印刷版原版に用いるアルミニウム支持体の製造方法であって、
アルミニウム板に対して、硫酸濃度が0.1~2.0g/Lとなる塩酸処理液中で交流電解を施し、粗面化されたアルミニウム板を作製する塩酸電解処理工程を有する、アルミニウム支持体の製造方法。 - 前記塩酸電解処理工程の後に、
粗面化されたアルミニウム板に対して、陽極酸化処理を施し、前記アルミニウム板上にアルミニウムの陽極酸化皮膜を形成する陽極酸化処理工程と、
陽極酸化皮膜が形成されたアルミニウム板に対して、エッチング処理を施し、前記陽極酸化皮膜中のマイクロポアの径を拡大させるポアワイド処理工程と、
をこの順で有する、請求項11に記載のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法。 - 前記陽極酸化処理工程が、リン酸を用いて陽極酸化処理を施す工程である、請求項12に記載のアルミニウム支持体の製造方法。
- アルミニウム支持体と、前記アルミニウム支持体上に配置された画像記録層と、を有する平版印刷版原版であって、
前記アルミニウム支持体が、アルミニウム板と、前記アルミニウム板上に配置されたアルミニウムの陽極酸化皮膜とを含み、
前記画像記録層が、前記アルミニウム支持体の前記陽極酸化皮膜側に配置され、
非接触三次元粗さ計を用いて、前記アルミニウム支持体の前記画像記録層側の表面の400μm×400μmの範囲を測定して得られる、中心線からの深さが0.70μm以上である凹部の密度が3000個/mm2以上である平版印刷版原版。 - 前記アルミニウム支持体の前記画像記録層側の表面の、L*a*b*表色系における明度L*の値が68~90である、請求項14に記載の平版印刷版原版。
- 前記陽極酸化皮膜が、前記アルミニウム板とは反対側の表面から深さ方向にのびるマイクロポアを有し、

- 前記画像記録層が微粒子形状の高分子化合物を含有し、前記微粒子形状の高分子化合物がスチレンおよびアクリロニトリルを含む共重合体を含む、請求項14~18のいずれか1項に記載の平版印刷版原版。
- 前記画像記録層がボレート化合物を含む、請求項14~19のいずれか1項に記載の平版印刷版原版。
