Abstract
アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の脱水反応を利用した蓄熱を行なう化学蓄熱材において、より高い反応率を示し、より低温での蓄熱を実現できる化学蓄熱材、並びに、該化学蓄熱材を利用して蓄熱及び放熱するためのケミカルヒートポンプを提供する。化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸を含み、前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である。また、吸熱脱水反応および水和発熱反応を利用したケミカルヒートポンプ(10)は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物を含む化学蓄熱材(21)を収容する反応器(11)と、前記反応器に熱的に接続され、前記化学蓄熱材に外部から熱を供給する熱供給手段(12)と、前記反応器に熱的に接続され、前記化学蓄熱材から生じた熱を外部に取り出す熱回収手段(13)と、水(22)を貯蔵する貯蔵器(14)と、前記反応器と前記貯蔵器を接続して、水を通す接続管(15)と、前記ケミカルヒートポンプ内に酸を供給する酸供給機構(17)と、を有する。
Description
本発明は、化学蓄熱材及びその製造方法、並びにケミカルヒートポンプ及びその運転方法に関する。
近年、二酸化炭素排出規制によって化石燃料の使用削減が求められており、各プロセスの省エネルギー化に加え、排熱の利用を進める必要がある。排熱の利用の手段としては、水を利用した100℃以下の温水蓄熱が知られている。しかし、温水蓄熱には、(1)放熱損失があるため長時間の蓄熱が不可能である、(2)顕熱量が小さいため大量の水が必要であり、蓄熱設備のコンパクト化が困難である、(3)出力温度が利用量に応じて非定常で、次第に降下する、等の問題がある。したがって、このような排熱の民生利用を進めるためには、より効率の高い蓄熱技術を開発する必要がある。
効率の高い蓄熱技術として化学蓄熱法が挙げられる。化学蓄熱法は、物質の吸着、水和等の化学変化を伴うため、材料自体(水、溶融塩等)の潜熱や顕熱による蓄熱法に比べて単位質量当たりの蓄熱量が高くなる。化学蓄熱法としては、大気中の水蒸気の吸脱着による水蒸気吸脱着法、金属塩へのアンモニア吸収(アンミン錯体生成反応)、アルコール等の有機物の吸脱着による反応等が提案されている。環境への負荷や装置の簡便性を考慮すると、水蒸気吸脱着法が最も有利である。水蒸気吸脱着法に用いられる化学蓄熱材として、アルカリ土類金属水酸化物である水酸化カルシウムや水酸化マグネシウムが知られている。
しかし、これら水酸化カルシウム及び水酸化マグネシウムは、100~400℃の低温域では有効な脱水反応を起こさないため、実用的な蓄熱材として機能しないという問題があった。
この問題を解決するために、特許文献1では、マグネシウムと、ニッケル、コバルト、銅、及びアルミニウムからなる群から選ばれた少なくとも1種の金属成分との複合水酸化物を利用することで、100~300℃程度で蓄熱可能な化学蓄熱材が提案されている。
さらに、特許文献2では、特許文献1に記載の化学蓄熱材の蓄熱量を改善することを目的に、マグネシウム又はカルシウムの水酸化物に、塩化リチウム等の吸湿性金属塩を添加してなる化学蓄熱材が提案されている。
特許文献1及び2に開示された技術によれば、蓄熱動作温度をある程度低温化することができるものの、例えば工場廃熱を蓄熱しようとした時などには、工場廃熱の温度域が200~250℃又はより低温度域であることから、その蓄熱動作温度は十分に低いものではなく、工場廃熱を効率よく利用することが困難で、動作温度のより一層の低温化を図ることが求められている。蓄熱効率の改良や、蓄熱システムの適用温度域の拡張などの側面からも、化学蓄熱材の動作温度の改良は依然として重要な課題である。
本発明は、上記現状に鑑み、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の脱水反応を利用した蓄熱を行なう化学蓄熱材において、より高い反応率を示し、より低温での蓄熱を実現できる化学蓄熱材及びその製造方法、並びに、該化学蓄熱材を利用して蓄熱及び放熱するためのケミカルヒートポンプ及びその運転方法を提供することを目的とする。
上記の課題を解決するために、本発明者らが種々検討を重ねたところ、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の脱水反応を利用した化学蓄熱材を製造するに際し、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸を含む化学蓄熱材が、より高い反応率を示し、より低温での蓄熱を実現できる化学蓄熱材を製造できることを見出し、本発明に至った。
すなわち第一の本発明は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸を含み、前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、化学蓄熱材に関する。
第二の本発明は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、アルカリ金属の化合物と、酸を含み、前記アルカリ金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~50モル%であり、前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、化学蓄熱材に関し、さらに、ニッケル、コバルト、銅およびアルミニウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種の特定の金属の化合物を含んでもよく、前記特定金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~40モル%である化学蓄熱材に関する。
前記アルカリ土類金属が、カルシウム、マグネシウム、ストロンチウム、及びバリウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種であることが好ましく。また、前記アルカリ金属が、リチウム、カリウム、及びナトリウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種であることが好ましい。
第三の本発明は、化学蓄熱材の製造方法であって、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸を混合する工程を含み、前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、製造方法に関する。
第四の本発明は、化学蓄熱材の製造方法であって、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、アルカリ金属の化合物と、酸を混合する工程を含み、前記アルカリ金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~50モル%であり、前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、製造方法に関する。
当該製造方法においては、前記混合工程において、さらに、ニッケル、コバルト、銅およびアルミニウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種の特定の金属の化合物を混合してもよく、前記金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~40モル%である製造方法に関する。
第五の本発明は、吸熱脱水反応および水和発熱反応を利用したケミカルヒートポンプであって、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物を含む化学蓄熱材を収容する反応器と、前記反応器に熱的に接続され、前記化学蓄熱材に外部から熱を供給する熱供給手段と、前記反応器に熱的に接続され、前記化学蓄熱材から生じた熱を外部に取り出す熱回収手段と、水を貯蔵する貯蔵器と、前記反応器と前記貯蔵器を接続して、水を通す接続管と、前記ケミカルヒートポンプ内に酸を供給する酸供給機構と、を有するケミカルヒートポンプに関する。
第六の本発明は、前記ケミカルヒートポンプを運転する方法であって、前記酸供給機構を用いて、前記反応器内に収容された前記化学蓄熱材に酸を供給する工程と、前記熱供給手段を通じて前記化学蓄熱材に熱を供給し、前記化学蓄熱材の吸熱脱水反応を進行させて蓄熱する工程と、を含む方法に関する。当該方法は、さらに、前記貯蔵器の水を前記反応器に移動させて前記化学蓄熱材に接触させ、前記化学蓄熱材の水和発熱反応を進行させて放熱する工程を含んでもよい。
本発明によると、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の脱水反応を利用した蓄熱を行なう化学蓄熱材において、より高い反応率を示し、より低温での蓄熱を実現できる化学蓄熱材及びその製造方法を提供することができる。
また、本発明によると、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の脱水反応を利用した蓄熱を行なう化学蓄熱材を利用して蓄熱及び放熱するためのケミカルヒートポンプにおいて、より高い反応率を示し、より低温での蓄熱を実現できるケミカルヒートポンプ、及びその運転方法を提供することができる。
以下、本発明の実施形態を詳細に説明する。
本発明で製造する化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び酸化物による以下の可逆反応を利用したものである。なお、以下の反応式では、アルカリ土類金属としてカルシウム又はマグネシウムを用いた場合について示した。

各式中、右方向への反応は酸化カルシウム又は酸化マグネシウムの水和発熱反応である。反対に、左方向への反応は水酸化カルシウム又は水酸化マグネシウムの脱水吸熱反応である。すなわち本発明の化学蓄熱材は、水酸化カルシウム又は水酸化マグネシウムの脱水反応が進行することによって蓄熱することができ、また、蓄えられた熱エネルギーを、酸化カルシウム又は酸化マグネシウムの水和反応が進行することによって供給することができる。

各式中、右方向への反応は酸化カルシウム又は酸化マグネシウムの水和発熱反応である。反対に、左方向への反応は水酸化カルシウム又は水酸化マグネシウムの脱水吸熱反応である。すなわち本発明の化学蓄熱材は、水酸化カルシウム又は水酸化マグネシウムの脱水反応が進行することによって蓄熱することができ、また、蓄えられた熱エネルギーを、酸化カルシウム又は酸化マグネシウムの水和反応が進行することによって供給することができる。
本発明における化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物、アルカリ土類金属の酸化物いずれかを含むものであればよく、双方を含むものであってもよい。前記アルカリ土類金属としては、カルシウム、マグネシウム、ストロンチウム、バリウムが挙げられる。これらを1種のみ含むものであってもよく、2種以上を組み合わせて含むものであっても良い。このうち、カルシウム及び/又はマグネシウムが好ましく、マグネシウムがより好ましい。アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物、アルカリ土類金属の酸化物として、好ましくは、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化カルシウム、マグネシウムとカルシウムの複合水酸化物、酸化マグネシウム、酸化カルシウム、マグネシウムとカルシウムの複合酸化物が挙げられ、これらを単独で使用しても良いし、2種以上を混合して使用しても良い。
本発明においては、当該アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸を含む化学蓄熱材を構成する点に特徴がある。本発明で使用する酸としては、特に限定されず、公知の酸を適宜使用することができ、無機酸、有機酸のいずれであってもよい。また、水溶性の酸であってもよいし、水に難溶性または不溶性の酸であってもよい。また、1種類のみを使用してもよいし、2種類以上を適宜組み合わせて使用してもよい。
無機酸としては、例えば、塩酸、臭化水素酸、ヨウ化水素酸、フッ化水素酸、ハロゲンオキソ酸、硫酸、硝酸、リン酸、ホスホン酸、スルホン酸、ホウ酸、シアン化水素酸、ヘキサフルオロリン酸などが挙げられる。
有機酸としては、例えば、有機スルホン酸、有機ホスホン酸、脂肪族ヒドロキシ酸(ジヒドロキシ酸、トリヒドロキシ酸を含む)、芳香族ヒドロキシ酸(ジヒドロキシ酸、トリヒドロキシ酸を含む)、脂肪族カルボン酸(ジカルボン酸、トリカルボン酸を含む)、脂肪族不飽和カルボン酸(ジカルボン酸、トリカルボン酸を含む)、芳香族カルボン酸(ジカルボン酸、トリカルボン酸を含む)、芳香族不飽和カルボン酸(ジカルボン酸、トリカルボン酸を含む)、その他のオキシ酸、その他のオキソカルボン酸、アミノ酸、及びこれら誘導体の酸が挙げられる。
有機スルホン酸としては、例えば、メタンスルホン酸、トルフルオロメタンスルホン酸、ベンゼンスルホン酸、p-トルエンスルホン酸などが挙げられる。有機ホスホン酸類としては、例えば、リン酸ジメチルエステル、フェニルホスホン酸などが挙げられる。脂肪族ヒドロキシ酸または芳香族ヒドロキシ酸としては、例えば、乳酸、リンゴ酸、クエン酸、酒石酸などが挙げられる。脂肪族カルボン酸または脂肪族不飽和カルボン酸としては、例えば、蟻酸、酢酸、プロピオン酸、酪酸、アクリル酸、ソルビン酸、ピルビン酸、オキサロ酢酸、スクアリン酸、シュウ酸、マロン酸、コハク酸、グルタル酸、マレイン酸、アコニット酸などが挙げられる。芳香族カルボン酸または芳香族不飽和カルボン酸としては、安息香酸、フタル酸、サリチル酸、シキミ酸、没食子酸、ピロメリト酸などが挙げられる。アミノ酸としては、例えば、アスパラギン酸、グルタミン酸などが挙げられる。
前記酸の使用量は、前記アルカリ土類金属の量を100モル%としたときに、0.05~30モル%であることが好ましい。これより酸の使用量が少なくなると、酸の添加による反応率向上または蓄熱温度の低温化を達成することができない。また、酸の使用量が前記範囲より多くなると、母材となるアルカリ土類金属への影響が大きく、化学蓄熱材による単位体積又は単位質量あたりの蓄熱量が低下する恐れがある。前記酸の使用量は、0.1~20モル%が好ましく、0.3~15モル%がより好ましく、0.5~10モル%がさらに好ましく、0.8~8モル%がよりさらに好ましく、1~6%が特に好ましい。
本発明の化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸に加えて、さらにアルカリ金属の化合物を含んでも良い。アルカリ金属の化合物をさらに配合することで、化学蓄熱材の反応率をより高めることができる。
前記アルカリ金属の化合物を構成するアルカリ金属としては、リチウム、カリウム、ナトリウムが挙げられ、これらを1種のみ含むものであってもよく、2種以上を組み合わせて含むものであっても良い。このうち、リチウム、ナトリウムが好ましく、リチウムがより好ましい。前記アルカリ金属の化合物としては、本発明の効果を奏するものである限り特に限定されないが、吸湿性を有する化合物であって、雰囲気中の水分を吸着するか、又は対応する水和物を生成することができる化合物が好ましい。そのような化合物としては、アルカリ金属の塩が好ましく、例えば、取り扱いが容易なものとして、塩化物、臭化物等のハロゲン化物、水酸化物、炭酸塩、酢酸塩、硝酸塩、又は硫酸塩などが挙げられる。これらを単独で使用しても良いし、2種以上を混合して使用しても良い。
より具体的には、リチウムの化合物としては、ハロゲン化リチウム及び/又は水酸化リチウムが好ましく、塩化リチウム、臭化リチウム、及び/又は水酸化リチウムがより好ましい。カリウムの化合物としては、ハロゲン化カリウム及び/又は水酸化カリウムが好ましく、塩化カリウム、臭化カリウム、及び/又は水酸化カリウムがより好ましい。ナトリウムの化合物としては、ハロゲン化ナトリウム及び/又は水酸化ナトリウムが好ましく、塩化ナトリウム、臭化ナトリウム、及び/又は水酸化ナトリウムがより好ましい。
前記アルカリ金属の化合物の使用量としては、前記アルカリ土類金属の量を100モル%としたときに、アルカリ金属の量が0.1~50モル%となる量であることが好ましい。これよりアルカリ金属の量が前記範囲より少なくなると、アルカリ金属塩の使用による反応率向上または蓄熱温度の低温化を達成することが困難となる。また、アルカリ金属の量が前記範囲より多くなると、化学蓄熱材による単位体積又は単位質量あたりの蓄熱量が低下する恐れがある。前記アルカリ金属の量は、0.5~30モル%が好ましく、1.0~20モル%がより好ましく、2.0~10モル%がさらに好ましい。当該アルカリ金属の量を調節することで、化学蓄熱材の脱水吸熱温度を制御することができる。
本発明の化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、アルカリ金属の化合物と、酸に加えて、さらに特定の金属の化合物を含んでも良い。前記特定の金属の化合物をさらに含めることで、化学蓄熱材の反応率をより高めることができる。この時、前記特定の金属の化合物は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と化学的に複合化していることが好ましい。
前記特定の金属は、ニッケル、コバルト、銅、及びアルミニウムからなる群より選択され、これらを1種のみ含むものであってもよく、2種以上を組み合わせて含むものであっても良い。このうち、ニッケル、コバルト、及びアルミニウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種が好ましく、ニッケル及び/又はコバルトがより好ましい。
前記特定の金属の化合物としては特に限定されないが、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と複合化するものであることが好ましく、塩化物、臭化物等のハロゲン化物、水酸化物、酸化物、炭酸塩、酢酸塩、硝酸塩、又は硫酸塩などが挙げられる。これらを単独で使用しても良いし、2種以上を混合して使用しても良い。より具体的には、水酸化ニッケル、水酸化コバルト、ニッケルとコバルトの複合水酸化物、酸化ニッケル、酸化コバルト、及び/又はニッケルとコバルトの複合酸化物が好ましい。
前記特定の金属の化合物の使用量としては、前記アルカリ土類金属の量を100モル%としたときに前記特定の金属の量が0.1~40モル%となる量であることが好ましい。これより前記特定の金属の量が少なくなると、前記特定の金属の化合物の使用による反応率向上または蓄熱温度の低温化を達成することが困難となる。また、前記特定の金属の量が前記範囲より多くなると、化学蓄熱材による単位体積又は単位質量あたりの蓄熱量が低下する恐れがある。前記特定の金属の量は、3~40モル%が好ましく、5~30モル%がより好ましく、10~25モル%がさらに好ましい。当該特定の金属の化合物の使用量を調節することで、化学蓄熱材の脱水吸熱温度を制御することができる。
本発明における化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸と、場合によりアルカリ金属の化合物と、場合により特定の金属の化合物とが、単に物理的に混合又は分散されているものであってもよいが、これに限定されない。各構成成分の一部又は全部が互いと化学的に複合化したものであってよいし、また、各構成成分の一部又は全部が互いと化学的に反応して第三成分を生じているものであってもよい。
本発明の化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物とアルカリ土類金属の酸化物による吸熱脱水反応および水和発熱反応を利用した化学蓄熱材である。その範囲において、本発明の化学蓄熱材には、他の成分が含まれていても良く、以上で説明した構成成分以外の化学蓄熱成分や、化学蓄熱作用を示さない成分(例えばバインダー)が含まれていても良い。
本発明の化学蓄熱材の形状は特に限定されないが、例えば、粉末や、造粒体、成形体などの形状であってよい。形状が粉末、造粒体、又は成形体の化学蓄熱材を製造するにあたっては、既知の手法を適用することが可能である。例えば、粉末の化学蓄熱材を製造する際には篩別、解砕、粉砕工程を適用することが可能である。また、造粒体の化学蓄熱材を製造する際には押出造粒、転動造粒、流動層造粒、スプレードライ等の造粒工程を適用することができる。成形体の化学蓄熱材を製造する際には、プレス成形、射出成形、ブロー成形、真空成形、押出成形による成形工程を適用することができる。すなわち、化学蓄熱材としての性状を実施可能な程度に損なわない限りにおいては、需要者の実施形態に応じた任意の形状を選択することが可能である。
次に、本発明における化学蓄熱材を製造する方法について説明する。
本発明における化学蓄熱材を製造する方法は特に限定されないが、一例として、まず、酸をイオン交換水に溶解して酸水溶液を調製し、これにアルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の粉末を加えて攪拌混合し、スラリーを作製する。さらに、アルカリ金属の化合物、または、アルカリ金属の化合物と特定の金属の化合物を同時に加えても良い。得られたスラリーを乾燥させ、乾燥粉末として化学蓄熱材を製造することができる。攪拌混合の方法は特に限定されず、溶媒であるイオン交換水とアルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の粉末が十分に混合されればよい。
各成分を加える順序は変更してもよい。この場合、例えば、最初にアルカリ金属の化合物、または、アルカリ金属の化合物と特定の金属の化合物をイオン交換水に溶解して、これにアルカリ土類金属の水酸化物の粉末を加えてスラリーを作製し、続いて酸を添加した後に、乾燥させて化学蓄熱材を製造することができる。
本発明の化学蓄熱材は、100~400℃程度の熱源、例えば工場排熱等からの未利用熱を吸熱して脱水することにより蓄熱することができる。脱水された化学蓄熱材は、乾燥状態に保つことにより容易に蓄熱状態を維持することができ、またその蓄熱状態を維持しながら所望の場所へ持ち運ぶことができる。放熱する場合には、水、好ましくは水蒸気と接触させることにより水和反応熱(場合により、水蒸気収着熱)を熱エネルギーとして取り出すことができる。また、気密封鎖空間内の一方で水蒸気収着を行わせると共に、他方では水を蒸発させることにより冷熱を発生させることもできる。
また、本発明の化学蓄熱材は、エンジンや燃料電池等から排出される排気ガスの熱を有効利用するのにも適している。例えば、排気ガスの熱は、自動車の暖機運転の短縮、搭乗者のアメニティーの向上、燃費の改善、排気ガス触媒の活性向上による排気ガスの低害化等に活用することができる。特に、エンジンでは運転による負荷が一定でなく排気出力も不安定であることから、エンジンからの排気熱の直接利用は必然的に非効率であり、不便を伴う。本発明の化学蓄熱材を利用すると、エンジンからの排気熱を一旦化学的に蓄熱し、熱需要に応じて熱出力することで、より理想的な排気熱利用が可能となる。
本発明の化学蓄熱材は、蓄熱および放熱をそれぞれ複数回繰り返した後において、酸を適宜補充することで、その蓄熱性能の劣化を防止または修復することが可能である。酸の補充は、蓄熱材に対して行えばよく、その具体的な態様は特に限定されない。化学蓄熱材をケミカルヒートポンプまたは対象システム(例えば車輛)から取り出したうえで、酸を補充してもよいし、ケミカルヒートポンプまたは対象システムの系中に、任意の時期に酸を化学蓄熱材に補充する機構を設けておくことで、化学蓄熱材を取り出すことなく、ケミカルヒートポンプまたは対象システムを継続稼動しながら酸を補充することも可能である。
次に本発明の化学蓄熱材を利用したケミカルヒートポンプの実施形態を説明する。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係るケミカルヒートポンプの構成を示す概念図である。ケミカルヒートポンプ10は、化学蓄熱材を収容する反応器11を有する。反応器11内に収容される化学蓄熱材21は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物を含むものである限り、特に限定されない。本発明の化学蓄熱材のようにアルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物に加えて酸を含むものであってもよいし、また、酸を含まないものであってもよい。また、アルカリ金属の化合物や特定の金属の化合物などをさらに含むものであってもよいし、含まないものであってもよい。化学蓄熱材21は、好ましくは本発明の化学蓄熱材である。
反応器11には、工場廃熱など、外部からの熱を反応器11内の化学蓄熱材に供給するための熱供給手段12が熱的に接続されている。これにより、化学蓄熱材に熱が供給されることによって、化学蓄熱材の脱水反応が進行する。すなわち、化学蓄熱材であるアルカリ土類金属の水酸化物が水を放出して、酸化物に変換されることで、ケミカルヒートポンプによる蓄熱が可能になる。
次いで、吸熱脱水反応により生じたアルカリ土類金属の酸化物に対しては、水を供給することで、化学蓄熱材の水和発熱反応が進行する。すなわち、当該酸化物と水が反応して水酸化物が生じると共に、熱を発生する。このようにして化学蓄熱材から生じた熱を外部に取り出すための熱回収手段13が、反応器11には熱的に接続されている。熱回収手段13によってケミカルヒートポンプから回収された熱は、その後、任意の用途で有効利用することができる。また、熱回収手段13は、上述した熱供給手段12と一体的に構成されていてもよい。
反応器11内の化学蓄熱材から吸熱脱水反応によって放出された水、または、水和発熱反応を進行させるために化学蓄熱材に供給する水は、貯蔵器14において貯蔵される。貯蔵器内の水22は、液体の水であってもよいし、水蒸気であってもよい。図示していないが、貯蔵器14には、貯蔵器内の水を加熱するための第二の熱供給手段と、水の蒸発熱または凝縮熱を外部に取り出すための第二の熱回収手段が設けられていてもよい。
反応器11と貯蔵器14は、当該水を通すための接続管15によって接続されている。脱水反応時に反応器11内の化学蓄熱材から放出された水は、接続管15を通って貯蔵器14に移動し、貯蔵器14に貯蔵された水は、接続管15を通って反応器11に移動し、水和発熱反応を進行させることができる。水の移動は、加熱または減圧により水を水蒸気に変換することで行なってもよいし、また、反応器11と貯蔵器14を上下に配置して水を落下させることで行なってもよい。接続管15には、水の移動を適時遮断するために開閉弁16を設けることができる。
本発明のケミカルヒートポンプには、前記ケミカルヒートポンプ内に酸を供給する酸供給機構が設けられている。酸供給機構は、少なくとも、ケミカルヒートポンプの系中に酸を供給するために、接続管15などの壁面に設けられた開閉可能な酸供給口17を含む。酸供給機構は、さらに、酸を貯蔵するための酸貯蔵部(図示せず)を有していてもよい。該酸貯蔵部は、酸供給口17に連結される。
酸供給口17から供給される酸としては、上述した酸を使用することができる。酸単独を供給してもよいし、酸を適当な媒体に混合して例えば水溶液などの形態で供給してもよい。また、酸は液体として供給してもよいし、気体として供給してもよい。噴霧により供給することもできる。
酸供給口17の設置位置は特に限定されず、ケミカルヒートポンプ内に酸を供給して酸と化学蓄熱材の接触が可能になる位置であればよい。酸供給口17を、図1に示すように接続管15に設ける場合には、例えば、貯蔵器14から反応器11に水が移動している際に、酸を酸供給口17からケミカルヒートポンプ内に供給すれば、水と共に酸を反応器11に導入して、反応器11内の化学蓄熱材に接触させることができる。また、酸供給口17は、反応器11に設けてもよいし、貯蔵器14に設けてもよい。
酸供給機構によりケミカルヒートポンプ内に酸を供給することによって、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物を主体とする化学蓄熱材が酸と接触することで、第一の本発明について説明したように、より高い反応率を達成し、より低温での蓄熱を実現することが可能となる。本発明のケミカルヒートポンプによればケミカルヒートポンプ内に収納された化学蓄熱材に酸を補充することが可能になる。これにより、蓄熱および放熱をそれぞれ複数回繰り返した後において、化学蓄熱材の蓄熱性能の劣化を防止または修復することが可能である。
ケミカルヒートポンプ内の化学蓄熱材に酸を補充することができるので、ケミカルヒートポンプに収納する化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物を含むものであればよく、酸はあらかじめ配合されていないものであってもよい。しかし、ケミカルヒートポンプに収納する化学蓄熱材は、あらかじめ酸が配合されたものであることが好ましい。
ケミカルヒートポンプ内への酸の添加は一度だけ行なってもよいし、複数回行なってもよい。本発明においては、特にケミカルヒートポンプの蓄熱及び放熱を繰り返し実施した結果、化学蓄熱材が示す反応率が低下してきた場合に、酸を添加することで、ケミカルヒートポンプの蓄熱時の反応率の改善を期待することができる。
以下に実施例を掲げて本発明をさらに詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれら実施例に限定されるものではない。
(評価方法)
各実施例及び比較例で得られた化学蓄熱材について、熱重量/示差熱分析測定装置(TG/DTA6300、セイコーインスツルメンツ社製)を用いて熱評価を行った。具体的には、昇温速度10℃/min.,大気条件下・常圧で、マグネシウム系化学蓄熱材の試料は300℃まで、カルシウム系化学蓄熱材の試料は400℃まで加熱し、その後温度を一定に保ち、経時的に重量減少量及び示差熱を測定した。得られた重量減少値に基づいて、各化学蓄熱材中の水酸化マグネシウムが酸化マグネシウムに変化した割合、または水酸化カルシウムが酸化カルシウムに変化した割合として反応率を算出した。
各実施例及び比較例で得られた化学蓄熱材について、熱重量/示差熱分析測定装置(TG/DTA6300、セイコーインスツルメンツ社製)を用いて熱評価を行った。具体的には、昇温速度10℃/min.,大気条件下・常圧で、マグネシウム系化学蓄熱材の試料は300℃まで、カルシウム系化学蓄熱材の試料は400℃まで加熱し、その後温度を一定に保ち、経時的に重量減少量及び示差熱を測定した。得られた重量減少値に基づいて、各化学蓄熱材中の水酸化マグネシウムが酸化マグネシウムに変化した割合、または水酸化カルシウムが酸化カルシウムに変化した割合として反応率を算出した。
反応率の算出は、揮発成分等の影響を除外するため、200℃に昇温した時点での化学蓄熱材の重量を開始重量として反応率0%に設定し、水酸化マグネシウムが全て酸化マグネシウムに、又は水酸化カルシウムが全て酸化カルシウムに変化したと仮定した場合の重量減少値を反応率100%と定めて行った。
マグネシウム系化学蓄熱材の性能評価は、特に、昇温開始時点から4,000秒が経過した時点での重量減少値から算出された反応率に基づいて行なった。すなわち、本評価方法は、水酸化マグネシウムの熱分解が実質的に進行しない温度である300℃で化学蓄熱材を所定時間保持した時点での反応率を比較するものである。当該反応率が高いほど、吸熱脱水反応が早く進行しており、蓄熱量が大きく、かつ、より低温の熱によって蓄熱できることを示している。なお、表中の相対反応率の数字は、絶対値ではなく、各比較例の反応率を基準の100とした時の相対値を示すものである。
カルシウム系化学蓄熱材の性能評価は、特に、昇温開始時点から3,000秒が経過した時点での重量減少値から算出された反応率に基づいて行なった。すなわち、本評価方法は、水酸化カルシウムの熱分解が緩やかに進む温度である400℃で化学蓄熱材を所定時間保持した時点での反応率を比較するものである。当該反応率が高いほど、吸熱脱水反応が早く進行しており、蓄熱量が大きく、かつ、より低温の熱によって蓄熱できることを示している。なお、表中の相対反応率の数字は、絶対値ではなく、比較例の反応率を基準の100とした時の相対値を示すものである。
本実施例及び比較例で用いた水酸化マグネシウムは本発明者らが製造したものを使用した。水酸化マグネシウムの純度は、多元素同時蛍光X線分析装置(Simultix12 株式機会社リガク製)にて、主要な不純物となるCa、Si、Al、Fe、S、Clを酸化物換算し、100%から減算して算出した。BET比表面積は、比表面積測定装置(Macsorb、Mountech Co.Ltd.製)を使用して、窒素ガスを用いたガス吸着法(BET法)によりBET比表面積を測定した。体積平均粒子径は、レーザー回折散乱式粒度分布測定装置(MT3300 日機装株式会社製)を用いて測定した。
また、本実施例及び比較例で用いた水酸化カルシウムは市販の試薬(関東化学工業製、試薬特級、純度95%)を使用した。
(実施例1)
水酸化マグネシウム(純度99%以上、BET比表面積8.4m2/g、体積平均粒子径3.5μm)を5g秤量し、さらに、該水酸化マグネシウムに対して2.4モル%となる量の酢酸(関東化学試薬、特級)を秤量した。秤量した酢酸をイオン交換水50mLに全溶させて酢酸水溶液を得た。該酢酸水溶液に、上記で秤量した水酸化マグネシウムを投入し、マグネチックスターラーで300秒間、回転数60(rpm)で攪拌してスラリーを作製した。該スラリーを、乾燥機(アドバンテック株式会社製 DRA430DA)にて110℃で12時間以上乾燥させて水分を除去することで、化学蓄熱材を製造した。得られた化学蓄熱材について、上記評価方法で熱挙動を確認し、反応率を算出した。

(比較例1)
水酸化マグネシウム(純度99%以上、BET比表面積8.4m2/g、体積平均粒子径3.5μm)そのものについて、同様に反応率を算出した。

表1では、比較例1で得られた水酸化マグネシウム単体の反応率を基準の100とし、実施例1で得られた反応率を相対反応率に変換して得られた数字を示した。図2は、実施例1と比較例1と、後述する比較例2で示された反応率の経時変化を示すグラフである。なお、表1で示した相対反応率は、図2におけるグラフの4,000秒時点での反応率に基づいて算出した相対値である。
酸を添加していない比較例1の水酸化マグネシウム単体は、ここで用いている評価条件下では反応率が極めて低く、吸熱脱水反応がほとんど進行しなかった。表1及び図2より、水酸化マグネシウムに酸を添加して製造した実施例1の化学蓄熱材は、比較例1と同じ評価条件下において、比較例1と比較して反応率が大幅に高く、吸熱脱水反応が迅速に進行していることが確認できる。これより、実施例1の化学蓄熱材は、比較例1の水酸化マグネシウム単体と比較して、より低温の熱でも蓄熱できることが分かる。
さらに、図2より、実施例1の反応率は、水酸化マグネシウムに水酸化リチウムのみを配合した後述する比較例2の反応率よりもはるかに高いものであることが分かる。なお、比較例2の4,000秒時点の反応率を100として、実施例1の4,000秒時点の反応率を相対反応率に変換すると、288と算出される。
(実施例2)
水酸化マグネシウムを5g秤量し、該水酸化マグネシウムに対して2.4モル%となる量の硝酸(関東化学試薬、特級)を秤量し、前記水酸化マグネシウムに対して20モル%となる量の水酸化リチウム・一水和物(関東化学試薬、特級、純度98.0%)を秤量した。秤量した硝酸をイオン交換水50mLに全溶させて硝酸水溶液を得た。該硝酸水溶液に、上記で秤量した水酸化マグネシウム及び水酸化リチウム・一水和物を投入し、マグネチックスターラーで300秒間、回転数60(rpm)で攪拌してスラリーを作製した。該スラリーを、乾燥機(アドバンテック株式会社製 DRA430DA)にて110℃で12時間以上乾燥させて水分を除去することで、化学蓄熱材を製造した。得られた化学蓄熱材について、上記評価方法で熱挙動を確認し、反応率を算出した。
水酸化マグネシウムを5g秤量し、該水酸化マグネシウムに対して2.4モル%となる量の硝酸(関東化学試薬、特級)を秤量し、前記水酸化マグネシウムに対して20モル%となる量の水酸化リチウム・一水和物(関東化学試薬、特級、純度98.0%)を秤量した。秤量した硝酸をイオン交換水50mLに全溶させて硝酸水溶液を得た。該硝酸水溶液に、上記で秤量した水酸化マグネシウム及び水酸化リチウム・一水和物を投入し、マグネチックスターラーで300秒間、回転数60(rpm)で攪拌してスラリーを作製した。該スラリーを、乾燥機(アドバンテック株式会社製 DRA430DA)にて110℃で12時間以上乾燥させて水分を除去することで、化学蓄熱材を製造した。得られた化学蓄熱材について、上記評価方法で熱挙動を確認し、反応率を算出した。
(比較例2)
硝酸を使用することなく、硝酸水溶液ではなくイオン交換水50mLに水酸化マグネシウムを投入した以外は、実施例2と同様の方法で化学蓄熱材を製造して、同様に反応率を算出した。

図3は、実施例2、4、及び6と比較例2で示された反応率の経時変化を示すグラフであり、図4は、実施例7~13と比較例2で示された反応率の経時変化を示すグラフである。なお、表2で示した相対反応率は、図3及び4におけるグラフの4,000秒時点での反応率に基づいて算出した相対値である。
表2と図3及び4より、水酸化マグネシウムにアルカリ金属塩である水酸化リチウムと共に、酸を添加して製造した実施例2~13の化学蓄熱材は、酸を添加せずに製造した比較例2の化学蓄熱材と比較して、反応率が大幅に高く、吸熱脱水反応が迅速に進行していることが確認できる。これより、実施例2~13の化学蓄熱材は、比較例2の化学蓄熱材と比較して、蓄熱量が大きく、また、より低温の熱でも蓄熱できることが分かる。
(実施例14)
水酸化リチウム・一水和物の代わりに塩化リチウム(関東化学試薬、特級、純度99.0%)を用いた以外は、実施例2と同様の方法で化学蓄熱材を製造して、同様に反応率を算出した。

表3より、水酸化マグネシウムにアルカリ金属塩として塩化リチウムを添加した系においても、酸を添加して製造した実施例14及び15の化学蓄熱材は、酸を添加せずに製造した比較例3の化学蓄熱材と比較して、反応率が大幅に高く、吸熱脱水反応が迅速に進行していることが確認できる。これより、実施例14及び15の化学蓄熱材は、比較例3の化学蓄熱材と比較して、蓄熱量が大きく、また、より低温の熱でも蓄熱できることが分かる。

水酸化カルシウム(関東化学、試薬特級、純度95%以上)を5g秤量し、さらに、該水酸化カルシウムに対して2.4モル%となる量の硝酸(関東化学試薬、特級)を秤量し、前記水酸化カルシウムに対して20モル%となる量の水酸化リチウム・一水和物(関東化学試薬、特級、純度98.0%)を秤量した。秤量した硝酸をイオン交換水50mLに全溶させて硝酸水溶液を得た。該硝酸水溶液に、上記で秤量した水酸化カルシウム及び水酸化リチウム・一水和物を投入し、マグネチックスターラーで300秒間、回転数60(rpm)で攪拌してスラリーを作製した。該スラリーを、乾燥機(アドバンテック株式会社製 DRA430DA)にて110℃で12時間以上乾燥させて水分を除去することで、化学蓄熱材を製造した。得られた化学蓄熱材について、上記評価方法で熱挙動を確認し、反応率を算出した。
水酸化カルシウム(関東化学、試薬特級、純度95%以上)を5g秤量し、さらに、該水酸化カルシウムに対して2.4モル%となる量の硝酸(関東化学試薬、特級)を秤量し、前記水酸化カルシウムに対して20モル%となる量の水酸化リチウム・一水和物(関東化学試薬、特級、純度98.0%)を秤量した。秤量した硝酸をイオン交換水50mLに全溶させて硝酸水溶液を得た。該硝酸水溶液に、上記で秤量した水酸化カルシウム及び水酸化リチウム・一水和物を投入し、マグネチックスターラーで300秒間、回転数60(rpm)で攪拌してスラリーを作製した。該スラリーを、乾燥機(アドバンテック株式会社製 DRA430DA)にて110℃で12時間以上乾燥させて水分を除去することで、化学蓄熱材を製造した。得られた化学蓄熱材について、上記評価方法で熱挙動を確認し、反応率を算出した。
(実施例17)
硝酸の代わりに塩酸(関東化学試薬、特級)を用いた以外は、実施例16と同様の方法で化学蓄熱材を製造して、同様に反応率を算出した。

(比較例4)
硝酸を使用することなく、硝酸水溶液ではなくイオン交換水50mLに水酸化カルシウムを投入した以外は、実施例2と同様の方法で化学蓄熱材を製造して、同様に反応率を算出した。

(比較例5)
水酸化カルシウム(関東化学、試薬特級、純度95%以上)そのものについて、同様に反応率を算出した。

表4では、酸を添加せずに化学蓄熱材を製造した比較例4で得られた反応率を基準の100とし、実施例16、17及び比較例5で得られた反応率を相対反応率に変換して得られた数字を示した。
図5は、実施例16、及び17と比較例4、5で示された反応率の経時変化を示すグラフである。なお、表4で示した相対反応率は、図5におけるグラフの3,000秒時点での反応率に基づいて算出した相対値である。
表4及び図5より、酸を添加して製造した実施例16及び17の化学蓄熱材は、酸を添加せずに製造した比較例4の化学蓄熱材、及び、比較例5の水酸化カルシウム単体と比べ、反応率が高く、吸熱脱水反応が迅速に進行していることが確認できる。これより、実施例16及び17の化学蓄熱材は、酸を添加せずに製造した比較例4の化学蓄熱材、及び、比較例5の水酸化カルシウム単体と比較して、より低温の熱でも蓄熱できることが分かる。

Claims (13)
- アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸を含み、
前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、化学蓄熱材。 - アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、アルカリ金属の化合物と、酸を含み、
前記アルカリ金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~50モル%であり、
前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、化学蓄熱材。 - さらに、ニッケル、コバルト、銅およびアルミニウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種の金属の化合物を含み、
前記金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~40モル%である、請求項1又は2に記載の化学蓄熱材。 - 前記アルカリ土類金属が、カルシウム、マグネシウム、ストロンチウム、及びバリウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の化学蓄熱材。
- 前記アルカリ金属が、リチウム、カリウム、及びナトリウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項2~4のいずれかに記載の化学蓄熱材。
- 化学蓄熱材の製造方法であって、
アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、酸を混合する工程を含み、
前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、製造方法。 - 化学蓄熱材の製造方法であって、
アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物と、アルカリ金属の化合物と、酸を混合する工程を含み、
前記アルカリ金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~50モル%であり、
前記酸の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.05~30モル%である、製造方法。 - 前記混合工程において、さらに、ニッケル、コバルト、銅およびアルミニウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種の金属の化合物を混合し、
前記金属の量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1~40モル%である、請求項7に記載の製造方法。 - 前記アルカリ土類金属が、カルシウム、マグネシウム、ストロンチウム、及びバリウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項6~8のいずれかに記載の製造方法。
- 前記アルカリ金属が、リチウム、カリウム、及びナトリウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項7~9のいずれかに記載の製造方法。
- 吸熱脱水反応および水和発熱反応を利用したケミカルヒートポンプであって、
アルカリ土類金属の水酸化物及び/又は酸化物を含む化学蓄熱材を収容する反応器と、
前記反応器に熱的に接続され、前記化学蓄熱材に外部から熱を供給する熱供給手段と、
前記反応器に熱的に接続され、前記化学蓄熱材から生じた熱を外部に取り出す熱回収手段と、
水を貯蔵する貯蔵器と、
前記反応器と前記貯蔵器を接続して、水を通す接続管と、
前記ケミカルヒートポンプ内に酸を供給する酸供給機構と、を有するケミカルヒートポンプ。 - 請求項11に記載のケミカルヒートポンプを運転する方法であって、
前記酸供給機構を用いて、前記反応器内に収容された前記化学蓄熱材に酸を供給する工程と、
前記熱供給手段を通じて前記化学蓄熱材に熱を供給し、前記化学蓄熱材の吸熱脱水反応を進行させて蓄熱する工程と、を含む方法。 - さらに、前記貯蔵器の水を前記反応器に移動させて前記化学蓄熱材に接触させ、前記化学蓄熱材の水和発熱反応を進行させて放熱する工程を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
