MgO+H2O⇔Mg(OH)2 △H=−81.2kJ/モル
各式中、右方向への反応は酸化カルシウム又は酸化マグネシウムの水和発熱反応である。反対に、左方向への反応は水酸化カルシウム又は水酸化マグネシウムの脱水吸熱反応である。すなわち本発明の化学蓄熱材は、水酸化カルシウム又は水酸化マグネシウムの脱水反応が進行することによって蓄熱することができ、また、蓄えられた熱エネルギーを、酸化カルシウム又は酸化マグネシウムの水和反応が進行することによって供給することができる。
(A):アルカリ土類金属及び所定割合の遷移金属の複合水酸化物を用意する工程;
(B):工程(A)で用意したアルカリ土類金属及び遷移金属の複合水酸化物、並びに所定割合のアルカリ金属塩を混合する工程;
(C):工程(B)で用意したアルカリ土類金属及び遷移金属の複合水酸化物、並びにアルカリ金属塩の混合物を、350〜1000℃の温度で1〜24時間焼成する工程;を含む製造方法。
各実施例及び比較例で得られた複合化合物について、熱重量/示差熱分析測定装置(TG/DTA6300、セイコーインスツルメンツ社製)を用いて熱評価を行った。測定は、昇温速度10℃/min.,大気条件下・常圧で、常温から500℃の範囲で行った。複合化合物は予め水和条件下で水和したのち、測定に供し、各複合化合物中の水酸化マグネシウムまたは水酸化カルシウムが酸化マグネシウムまたは酸化カルシウムへと変化を開始する温度を、吸熱挙動から計測し、これを脱水開始温度とした。
純度が98質量%の無水塩化マグネシウムを純水で溶解させ、Mgイオン濃度が2.0モル/Lになるように調整した塩化マグネシウム水溶液を得た。別途、純度97質量%の塩化ニッケル溶液に純水を加え、Niイオン濃度が0.8モル/Lになるように調整した水溶液を得た。両水溶液を、Mgイオンに対して、Niイオンが10モル%になるように投入し混合溶液を作製した。
塩化ニッケル水溶液を塩化コバルト水溶液に変えた以外は実施例1と同様の方法で、マグネシウム、コバルト、及びリチウムの複合化合物を製造した。
試薬特級の粉末状水酸化マグネシウム10gに、マグネシウムに対し試薬特級の塩化ニッケル六水和物及び試薬特級の塩化リチウムを、ニッケルが10モル%及びリチウムが10モル%となるよう秤量した。塩化リチウムを常温にて適量のイオン交換水に加えて攪拌溶解し、塩化リチウム水溶液を作成した。当該水溶液に、前記粉末状水酸化マグネシウム及び塩化ニッケルを加えて10分間攪拌し、分散液を得て、この分散液を乾燥機にて120℃で12時間乾燥し、水酸化マグネシウム、塩化ニッケル及び塩化リチウムの混合物を得た。
焼成温度を600℃から300℃に変えた以外は実施例1と同様の方法で、マグネシウム、コバルト、及びリチウムの複合化合物を製造した。

前記化学蓄熱材は、アルカリ土類金属、遷移金属、及びアルカリ金属から構成された複合化合物であり、
前記複合化合物における前記遷移金属の含有量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して1〜40モル%であり、
前記複合化合物における前記アルカリ金属の含有量は、前記アルカリ土類金属に対して0.1〜50モル%である、化学蓄熱材。 - 前記アルカリ土類金属が、カルシウム、マグネシウム、及びバリウムからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1に記載の化学蓄熱材。
