Abstract
본 발명은 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액과, 상기 수계 및 유기계 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 주개 촉매에 의하여 이산화탄소를 환원하여, 탄소화합물 및 수소기체를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 관한 것이다.
Description
본 발명은 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 관한 것으로서, 상세하게는 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액과, 상기 수계 및 유기계 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 주개 촉매에 의하여 이산화탄소를 환원하여, 탄소화합물 및 수소기체를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 관한 것이다.
전 세계적으로 이산화탄소를 재자원화하여 온실가스를 감축함은 물론이고 유용한 탄소화합물을 생산하는 이산화탄소 활용 기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 따라 전기화학적 환원을 통해 이산화탄소를 유용한 물질로 전환하는 기술에 대한 관심 또한 높아지고 있다.
전기화학적 환원을 통한 이산화탄소 전환 기술은 전기 에너지를 투입하여 전극 사이에 전위차를 발생시켜 전자의 이동을 통해 이산화탄소를 유용한 탄소화합물로 환원시키는 기술로서, 상온 및 상압 조건에서도 이산화탄소 환원 반응을 수행할 수 있고, 반응에 필요한 원료는 물과 이산화탄소뿐이므로 전해질을 재활용함으로서 화학물질을 배출시키지 않으며, 더욱이 공정이 간단한 장점을 가지고 있다.
그러나 상기 전기화학적 기술의 경우, 전극 촉매의 종류, 전해질의 성질, pH, 온도, 압력 등의 반응 조건에 영향을 많이 받음에 따라, 이산화탄소를 환원하여 유용한 탄소화합물로 전환하기 위해서는 특히 전극 촉매의 종류와 사용되는 전해질에 대한 연구가 필요하다.
또한, 종래 이산화탄소 전기화학적 환원 기술의 경우, 수용성 전해액에서 이산화탄소 환원 반응이 이루어짐에 따라, 이산화탄소의 용해도가 낮고 상기 수용액으로 부터 발생되는 수소와 이산화탄소의 환원 전위 영역이 비슷함에 따라 이산화탄소 환원에 대한 선택성이 낮은 문제점이 있으며, 현재까지는 상기와 같은 문제점을 보완하여 이산화탄소를 전기화학적으로 환원함으로써 유용한 탄소화합물을 제조할 수 있는 기술이 확보되지 못한 실정이다.
이에 본 발명에서는 상기의 문제점을 해결하기 위하여, 서로 섞이지 않는 유기계 전해질 용액과 수용성 전해질 용액을 포함하여 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액과, 상기 전해질 용액의 수계-유기계 각각에 첨가된 전자받개 및 전자주개 촉매를 이용하여, 전극 사용 없이도 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에서 이산화탄소를 용이하게 환원시켜 수소기체와 함께 탄소화합물인 포름산, 포메이트 또는 이들의 혼합물을 생성하는 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 제공하는 것을 그 해결과제로 한다.
또한, 본 발명은 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법을 제공하는 것을 그 해결과제로 한다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 이용하여 제조되는 연료 전지를 제공하는 것을 그 해결과제로 한다.
상기 과제를 해결하기 위한 본 발명의 일 측면에 따르면,
서로 섞이지 않는 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 포함하여 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액; 상기 수용성 전해질 용액에 포함된 전자받개 촉매; 및 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 포함된 전자주개 촉매;를 포함하여, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 주입된 이산화탄소를 상기 전자주개 및 받개 촉매로 환원하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 제공한다.
또한, 본 발명의 다른 과제를 해결하기 위하여, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법을 제공한다.
또한, 본 발명의 또 다른 과제를 해결하기 위하여, 상기 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 이용하여 제조되는 연료 전지를 제공한다.
본 발명, 이산화탄소 전환 시스템은 서로 섞이지 않는 유기계 전해질 용액과 수용성 전해질 용액을 포함하여 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액과, 상기 수계-유기계의 전해질 용액 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 전자주개 촉매를 포함함에 따라, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 대한 이산화탄소의 용해도를 향상시킴은 물론이고, 상기 액체-액체 계면에서의 전자이동 및 수소이온 확산을 용이하게 한다.
이에 따라 본 발명은, 이산화탄소를 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에서 전자주개-받개 촉매에 의해 용이하게 환원시킴으로써, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 포름산, 포메이트 또는 이들의 혼합물을 생성하게 되고, 이와 동시에 상기 수용성 전해질 용액에서는 수소기체를 생성하게 된다.
도 1은 본 발명에 따른 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 모식화하여 나타낸 것이다.
도 2는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따라 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에서 생성된 수소 기체 및 포메이트를 순환전압전류법(Cyclic Voltammetry, CV) 그래프로 나타낸 것이다.

이하, 본 발명을 자세히 설명하기로 한다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따르면,
서로 섞이지 않는 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 포함하여 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액;
상기 수용성 전해질 용액에 포함된 전자받개 촉매; 및
상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 포함된 전자주개 촉매;를 포함하여,
상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 주입된 이산화탄소를 상기 전자주개 및 받개 촉매로 환원하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템이 제공된다.
도 1은 본 발명에 따른 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 모식화하여 나타낸 것이다.
이를 참고하면, 본 발명, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 있어서 전해질 용액은, 서로 섞이지 않는 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 포함함에 따라, 상기 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액이 맞닿는 면에서 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
이때, 상기 수용성 전해질 용액은 수소 이온을 제공할 수 있는 전해질을 포함하는 것으로, 상기 전해질은 특별히 한정되지 않으나 바람직하게는 H2SO4, HClO4, HCl 또는 KHCO3인 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액은 CO2 용해도가 상대적으로 우수한 1,2-dichloroethane, heptane, propylene carbonate, 1,2-dichlorohexane, 또는 octanol를 유기 용매로 하여, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액의 전해질로 tetrabutylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TBATB), tetrahexyl-ammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(THATB), tetraoctylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TOATB), tetrabutylammonium perchlorate(TBAClO4), tetraoctylammonium perchlorate(TOAClO4), tetrabutylammonium tetraphenylborate(TBATPB), tetraoctylammonium tetraphenylborate(TOATPB) 또는 tetrahexylammonium tetraphenylborate(THATPB)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 이러한 유기성 전해질 염의 도입은 유기용매의 전도도를 증가시킨다.
상기와 같은 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 포함한, 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면은, 바람직하게는 HCl을 전해질로 포함한 수용성 전해질 용액과, 1,2-dichloroethane에 tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TOATB)를 전해질로 포함한 유기계 전해질 용액으로 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 형성된 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계의 액체-액체 계면은 분리막 역할을 함은 물론이고, 상기 수계-유기계 전해질 용액 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 주개 촉매에 의한 전자의 이동 및 수용성 전해질 용액에서 발생되는 수소 이온의 확산 이동 통로로서 역할을 한다.
이때 상기 수계-유기계 전해질 용액 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 주개 촉매는 전극 사용 없이도 용이하게 이산화탄소를 환원하기 위하여, 본 발명의 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 포함된 것으로서, 상세하게는 상기 전자받개 촉매는 수용성 전해질 용액에 포함되고, 상기 전자주개 촉매는 유기계 전해질 용액에 포함되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
보다 상세하게는 본 발명의 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 있어서, 수계 및 유기계 전해질 용액에 각각 포함된 전자받개 촉매 및 전자주개 촉매는 상기 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 통해 전자를 주고받으면서, 상기 액체-액체 계면을 통해 확산되는 수용성 전해질 용액의 수소이온과 함께 이산화탄소를 탄소화합물로 전환하고 수소기체를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
이때 상기 전자받개 촉매 및 전자주개 촉매는 각각 친수성 및 친유성으로 상기 서로 섞이지 않는 액체-액체 계면을 통해 전자만을 주고받을 뿐, 상기 촉매 자체의 이동은 이루어지지 않는 것을 특징으로 하고, 바람직하게는 상기 전자주개 및 전자받개 촉매는 유기금속착물로, 상기 유기금속착물의 금속은 Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Cr, Mo, W, Zn 및 Cd 중에서 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 금속인 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 본 발명의 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 있어서, 이산화탄소 전환에 의해 생성된 탄소화합물은 포름산, 포메이트 또는 이들의 혼합물로, 이와 함께 수소기체도 함께 생성되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상세하게는 본 발명의 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 있어서, 이산화탄소는 유기계 전해질 용액으로 주입되는 것을 특징으로 함에 따라, 종래 수용성 전해질 용액으로 이산화탄소가 주입되는 경우에 비해 이산화탄소의 용해도를 현저히 향상시킨다.
이에, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 주입된 이산화탄소는 상기 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 통해 수용성 전해질 용액으로부터 확산되는 수소이온과, 수계 및 유기계 전해질 용액 각각에 포함되어 상기 액체-액체 계면을 통해 전자를 주고받는 전자받개 및 주개 촉매에 의해 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에서 환원되어 탄소화합물로서 포름산, 포메이트 또는 이들의 혼합물을 생성하고, 이와 동시에 수용성 전해질 용액에서 수소기체를 생성하게 된다.
이와 같이 본 발명, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템은, 서로 섞이지 않는 유기계 전해질 용액과 수용성 전해질 용액을 포함하여 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액과 상기 수계 및 유기계 전해질 용액 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 주개 촉매를 이용하여, 전극 사용 없이도 유기계 전해질 용액에서 이산화탄소를 포름산, 포메이트 또는 이들의 혼합물로 용이하게 전환함은 물론이고, 이와 동시에 수소기체를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 다른 일 측면에 따르면,
전해질 용액 구획에 서로 섞이지 않는 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 투입하여, 수계-유기계로 이루어진 서로 섞이지 않는 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 제 1 단계;
상기 수용성 전해질 용액에 전자받개 촉매를 첨가하고, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 전자주개 촉매를 첨가하는 제 2 단계; 및
상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 이산화탄소를 공급하여 전자주개 및 받개 촉매로 환원시킴으로써, 유기계 전해질 용액에 탄소화합물을 생성하고 수용성 전해질 용액에 수소기체를 생성하는 제 3 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법이 제공된다.
먼저, 제 1 단계는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 서로 섞이지 않는 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 단계로, 상세하게는 전해질 용액 구획에 서로 섞이지 않는 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 투입함으로 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 단계이다.
*이때, 상기 수용성 전해질 용액은 수소 이온을 제공할 수 있는 전해질을 포함하는 것으로, 상기 전해질은 특별히 한정되지 않으나 바람직하게는 H2SO4, HClO4, HCl 또는 KHCO3인 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액은 CO2 용해도가 상대적으로 우수한 1,2-dichloroethane, heptane, propylene carbonate, 1,2-dichlorohexane, 또는 octanol를 유기 용매로 하여, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액의 전해질로 tetrabutylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TBATB), tetrahexyl-ammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(THATB), tetraoctylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TOATB), tetrabutylammonium perchlorate(TBAClO4), tetraoctylammonium perchlorate(TOAClO4), tetrabutylammonium tetraphenylborate(TBATPB), tetraoctylammonium tetraphenylborate(TOATPB) 또는 tetrahexylammonium tetraphenylborate(THATPB)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 이러한 유기성 전해질 염의 도입은 유기용매의 전도도를 증가시킨다.
상기와 같은 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 포함한, 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면은, 바람직하게는 HCl을 전해질로 포함한 수용성 전해질 용액과, 1,2-dichloroethane에 tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TOATB)를 전해질로 포함한 유기계 전해질 용액으로 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 형성된 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계의 액체-액체 계면은 분리막 역할을 함은 물론이고, 상기 수계-유기계 전해질 용액 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 주개 촉매에 의한 전자의 이동 및 수용성 전해질 용액에서 발생되는 수소 이온의 확산 이동 통로로서 역할을 한다.
다음으로 제 2 단계는 상기 수용성 전해질 용액에 전자받개 촉매를 첨가하고, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 전자주개 촉매를 첨가하는 단계이다.
상기 수계-유기계 전해질 용액 각각에 포함된 전자받개 및 주개 촉매는 전극 사용 없이도 용이하게 이산화탄소를 환원하기 위하여 상기 전해질 용액에 첨가된 것으로서, 상기 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 통해 전자를 주고받는 것을 특징으로 하고, 이때 상기 전자받개 촉매 및 전자주개 촉매는 각각 친수성 및 친유성으로 상기 서로 섞이지 않는 액체-액체 계면을 통해 전자만을 주고받을 뿐, 상기 촉매 자체의 이동은 이루어지지 않는 것을 특징으로 한다.
바람직하게는 상기 전자주개 및 전자받개 촉매는 유기금속착물로, 상기 유기금속착물의 금속은 Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Cr, Mo, W, Zn 및 Cd 중에서 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 금속인 것을 특징으로 한다.
마지막으로 제 3 단계는, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 이산화탄소를 공급하여 전자주개 및 받개 촉매로 환원시킴으로써, 유기계 전해질 용액에 탄소화합물을 생성하고 수용성 전해질 용액에 수소기체를 생성하는 단계이다.
상세하게는 이산화탄소를 상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 공급하여 상기 전자주개 및 받개 촉매로 용이하게 환원시킴으로써, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에서 이산화탄소가 탄소화합물로 전환된 포름산, 포메이트 또는 이들의 혼합물을 생성하고, 이와 동시에 수용성 전해질 용액에서 수소기체를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
보다 상세하게는 이산화탄소를 상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 공급하여, 상기 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 통해 수용성 전해질 용액으로부터 확산되는 수소이온과, 수계 및 유기계 전해질 용액 각각에 포함되어 상기 액체-액체 계면을 통해 전자를 주고받는 전자받개 및 전자주개 촉매에 의해, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액 내에서 이산화탄소를 환원시킴으로써, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 포름산, 포메이트 또는 이들의 혼합물을 생성하고, 이와 동시에 수용성 전해질 용액에 수소기체를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 또 다른 일 측면에 따르면,
상기 전기화학전지를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 이용하여 제조되는 연료 전지를 제공한다.
이하, 본 발명을 실시예에 의하여 더욱 상세히 설명하나, 본 발명의 범위가 실시예에 의해 제한되는 것은 아니다.
<실시예>
이산화탄소 전환 시스템 제조
증류수에 전해질로 HCl을 10mM 첨가하고, 전자받개로 tris(bipyridine)ruthenium(II)2+을 100 마이크로몰 또는 50 마이크로몰을 첨가하여 수용성 전해질 용액을 제조하였다. 이때 상기 전자받개 촉매는 Ru(Bpy)3으로 표시하기로 한다.
1,2-dichloroethane에 전해질로 tetraoctylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TOATB)를 10mM 첨가하고, 전자주개로서 Ni(4,4'-dimethylbipyridine)(pyridine 2-thiolate)2를 100 마이크로몰 또는 50 마이크로몰 첨가하여 유기계 전해질 용액을 제조하였다. 이때 상기 전자주개 촉매는 Ni(4,4'dmbpy)(pyS)2로 표시하기로 한다.
상기 제조된 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 포함하여 서로 섞이지 않는 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 갖는 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 제조하였다.
CO2 환원에 의한 수소기체 및 포메이트 생성 확인
(1) 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 환원
상기 제조된 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 의해 이산화탄소를 환원시킴으로써, 수소기체 및 포메이트가 생성됨을 확인하였으며, 이를 도 2 및 도 3에 나타내었다.
도 2는 순환전압전류법(Cyclic Voltammetry, CV) 그래프로서, ①은 Nu(4,4'-dmbpy)(pyS)2 in Organic Phase 이고, ②는 Ru(Bpy)3 in Water Phase and Ni(4,4' dmbpy)(pyS)2 in Organic Phase 이고, ③은 Ru(Bpy)3 in Water Phase and Ni(4,4' dmbpy)(pyS)2 in Organic Phase with Ar Purging 이고, ④는 Ru(Bpy)3 in Water Phase and Ni(4,4' dmbpy)(pyS)2 in Organic Phase with CO2 purged in OP을 의미한다.
상기 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에 의해 이산화탄소가 환원되어 수소 기체가 생성됨을 알 수 있다.
또한, 도 3은 시간대 전류법(Chronoamperometry) 그래프로서, 상기 시스템에 의해 이산화탄소가 환원되어 포메이트가 생성됨을 알 수 있다.
(2) 전자주개-받개 촉매 포함 여부에 따른 이산화탄소 환원
상기 시스템에 있어서, 전자주개-받개 촉매 여부가 이산화탄소 환원에 미치는 영향을 순환전압전류법 및 시간대 전류법(Chronoamperometry)으로 분석하여 도 4 및 도 5에 나타내었다.
도 4는 이산화탄소 전환 시스템에서 전자주개-받개 촉매 여부에 따른 이산화탄소 전환 전/후를 순환전압전류법으로 나타낸 그래프로서, ①은 50 μM Ni(4,4' dmbpy)(pyS)2 in Organic Phase 이고, ②는 50 μM Ru(Bpy)3 and 50 μM Ni(4,4' dmbpy)(pyS)2 이며, ③은 Without Molecular Catalyst 을 의미한다.
이를 참고하면, 유기계 전해질 용액(Organic Phase, OP) 상에 전자주개 촉매를 포함하는 경우와, 상기 전자주개 촉매와 함께 수용성 전해질 용액(Water Phase, WP) 상에 전자받개 촉매를 포함하는 경우는 이산화탄소를 환원하여 수소기체를 용이하게 생성함을 알 수 있다.
또한, 도 5는 상기 시스템에 있어서 전자주개-받개 촉매(Molecular Catalyst, MC) 여부에 따른 시간대 전류법(E=-0.2V, T=1800s) 그래프를 나타낸 것이다.
이를 참고하면, 유기계 전해질 용액(OP)에 전자주개 촉매(Ni(4,4'dmbpy)(pyS)2)를 포함하는 경우와, 상기 전자주개 촉매와 함께 수용성 전해질 용액(WP)에 전자 받개 촉매를 포함하는 경우는 이산화탄소가 환원되어 포메이트(Formate)가 용이하게 생성됨을 알 수 있다.
(3) 유기계 전자주개 촉매가 Ni(4,4' dmobpy)(pyS)2 및 페로센일 때, 수계 촉매 포함 여부 및 pH에 따른 이산화탄소 환원
상기 시스템에서 유기계 전자주개 촉매를 Ni(4,4' dmobpy)(pyS)2 및 페로센(Ferrocene, Fc)하여 pH 및 수계 상의 전자받개 촉매 포함 여부에 따른 이산화탄소 환원과, 이에 따라 생성되는 수소 및 포메이트를 분석하여 도 6 내지 도 8에 나타내었다. 이때, 도 6에서의 ①은 H2 evolution 이고, ②는 H2 evolution (After 300×CV scan) 이며, ③은 CO2 purged (After 300×CV scan)을 의미한다. 도 7에서의 ①은 H2 evolution (After 300×CV scan) 이고, ②는 CO2 red (After 150×CV scan) 이며, ③은 CO2 red (After 150×CV scan) 을 의미한다.
또한, 상기 (1) 내지 (3)에서 CO2 환원으로 생성한 포메이트(formate) 생성량은 하기 표 1에 나타내었다.

(4) 수계의 촉매가 Co(dmgH)2PyCl일 때, 유기계 촉매 포함 여부에 따른 이산화탄소 환원
상기 시스템에서, 수용성 전해질 용액 상의 촉매를 Co(dmgH)2PyCl로 하여 유기계에 촉매를 포함하지 않거나 또는 촉매로서 Ru(bpy)3를 포함하여 각 경우에 대한 이산화탄소 환원 및 이에 따라 생성된 기체를 분석하여 도 9 내지 도 11에 나타내었다. 이때, 도 9에서 ① 내지 ⑩은 각각 4elec 10 mM HCl_ 10 μM Co_after 30 min CO2 1~10 을 의미하고, 도 10에서 ① 내지 ⑩은 각각 4elec 10 mM HCl_ 10 μM Co_10 μM Ru after 30 min CO2 (op) 1~10을 의미한다.
이를 참고하면, 상기 시스템에서 이산화탄소 환원에 의해 포메이트가 생성됨은 물론이고, 수계에서 일산화탄소가 생성될 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
이상과 같이, 본 발명은 비록 한정된 실시예와 도면에 의해 설명되었으나, 본 발명은 이것에 의해 한정되지 않으며 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의해 본 발명의 기술사상가 아래에 기재될 특허범위의 균등 범위에서 다양한 수정 및 변형이 가능함은 물론이다.
Claims (13)
- 서로 섞이지 않는 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 포함하여 수계-유기계로 이루어진 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 전해질 용액;상기 수용성 전해질 용액에 포함된 전자받개 촉매; 및상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 포함된 전자주개 촉매;를 포함하여,상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 주입된 이산화탄소를 상기 전자주개 및 받개 촉매로 환원하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서.상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 주입된 이산화탄소는 전자주개 및 받개 촉매에 의해 환원되어 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 포름산(formic acid), 포메이트(formate) 또는 이들의 혼합물을 생성하고,상기 수용성 전해질 용액에는 수소기체를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서.상기 전자주개 및 전자받개 촉매는 유기금속착물로, 상기 유기금속착물의 금속은 Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Cr, Mo, W, Zn 및 Cd 중에서 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 금속인 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 수용성 전해질 용액은 전해질로 H2SO4, HClO4 , HCl 또는 KHCO3를 포함하여 수소 이온을 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 유기계 전해질 용액의 유기 용매는 1,2-dichloroethane, heptane, propylene carbonate, 1,2-dichlorohexane 또는 octanol인 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 유기계 전해질 용액의 전해질은 tetrabutylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TBATB), tetrahexyl-ammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(THATB), tetraoctylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TOATB), tetrabutylammonium perchlorate(TBAClO4), tetraoctylammonium perchlorate(TOAClO4), tetrabutylammonium tetraphenylborate(TBATPB), tetraoctylammonium tetraphenylborate(TOATPB) 또는 tetrahexylammonium tetraphenylborate(THATPB)인 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 시스템.
- 전해질 용액 구획에 서로 섞이지 않는 수용성 전해질 용액과 유기계 전해질 용액을 투입하여, 수계-유기계로 이루어진 서로 섞이지 않는 액체-액체 계면을 형성하는 제 1 단계;상기 수용성 전해질 용액에 전자받개 촉매를 첨가하고, 상기 유기계 전해질 용액에 전자주개 촉매를 첨가하는 제 2 단계; 및상기 유기계 전해질 용액으로 이산화탄소를 공급하여 전자주개 및 받개 촉매로 환원시킴으로써, 유기계 전해질 용액에 탄소화합물을 생성하고 수용성 전해질 용액에 수소기체를 생성하는 제 3 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 유기계 전해질 용액 상에 생성된 탄소화합물은 포름산(formic acid), 포메이트(formate) 또는 이들의 혼합물인 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법.
- 제 7 항에 있어서.상기 전자주개 및 전자받개 촉매는 유기금속착물로, 상기 유기금속착물의 금속은 Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Cr, Mo, W, Zn 및 Cd 중에서 선택되는 어느 하나 이상의 금속인 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 수용성 전해질 용액은, 전해질로 H2SO4, HClO4 , HCl 또는 KHCO3를 포함하여 수소 이온을 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법.

- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 유기계 전해질 용액의 전해질은 tetrabutylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TBATB), tetrahexyl-ammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(THATB), tetraoctylammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate(TOATB), tetrabutylammonium perchlorate(TBAClO4), tetraoctylammonium perchlorate(TOAClO4), tetrabutylammonium tetraphenylborate(TBATPB), tetraoctylammonium tetraphenylborate(TOATPB) 또는 tetrahexylammonium tetraphenylborate(THATPB)인 것을 특징으로 하는, 액체-액체 계면 및 전자주개-받개 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소 전환 방법.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 이산화탄소 전환 시스템을 이용하여 제조되는 연료 전지.
