- FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the IMD characteristics of the series arm resonator S1 and the IMD characteristics of the acoustic wave resonator prepared for comparison.
- the solid line in FIG. 5 shows the IMD characteristic of the series arm resonator S1
- the broken line shows the IMD characteristic of the elastic wave resonator prepared for comparison.
- the design parameters of the series arm resonator S1 are as follows.
- Wavelength ⁇ determined by the electrode finger pitch P 4.325 ( ⁇ m).

- the acoustic wave resonator prepared for comparison was the same as the series arm resonator S1 except that the duty of the IDT electrode was 0.65.
- the IMD characteristics of the Band5 2Tx-Rx band are improved in the series arm resonator S1 compared to the elastic wave resonator prepared for comparison.
- the inventor of the present application has experimentally found that the IMD characteristics can be improved by reducing the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator disposed in the series arm. It is the resonator close to the antenna terminal 3 that has the greatest influence on the IMD.
- the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S1 closest to the antenna terminal 3 among the plurality of series arm resonators is reduced. That is, the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S1 is made smaller than the duty of the IDT electrode of at least one of the remaining series arm resonators S2 and S3. Therefore, the IMD characteristics can be effectively improved.
- the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S1 closest to the antenna terminal 3 is the smallest among the duties of the IDT electrodes of the plurality of series arm resonators S1 to S3. Thereby, generation
- the resonance frequency is increased by connecting a capacitor in parallel to the parallel arm resonator. For this reason, the attenuation pole on the low frequency side of the filter characteristics is brought close to the pass band, and the steepness is enhanced.
- the resonance frequency of the series arm resonator S1 closest to the antenna terminal 3 is not lowest. That is, it is desirable that at least one of the series arm resonators S2 and S3 has a resonance frequency lower than that of the series arm resonator S1. This is because when the duty of the series arm resonator S1 closest to the antenna terminal 3 decreases, the resonance frequency increases and the impedance at the resonance frequency increases. Therefore, the impedance characteristic at the resonance frequency is deteriorated. Therefore, when the resonance frequency of the series arm resonator S1 is located in the pass band, the insertion loss may be deteriorated.
- the resonance frequency of the series arm resonator S1 closest to the antenna terminal 3 is not set to the lowest, the deterioration of the insertion loss in the passband is effectively suppressed. More preferably, it is desirable that the remaining series arm resonators S2 and S3 have series arm resonators having a resonance frequency lower than that of the series arm resonator S1. Thereby, securing of steepness and suppression of deterioration of insertion loss can be achieved.
- the resonance frequency of the series arm resonator S1 is preferably outside the pass band. Thereby, the deterioration of the insertion loss can be more effectively suppressed. But the resonance frequency of series arm resonator S1 may be located in a pass band.
- the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S1 may not be the minimum among the duties of the IDT electrodes of the plurality of series arm resonators S1 to S3. However, preferably, as described above, it is desirable that the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S1 is the minimum.
- the duty of the IDT electrode in the series arm resonator having a relatively large dimension along the elastic wave propagation direction is a series arm having a relatively small dimension along the elastic wave propagation direction. It is desirable that it is larger than the duty of the IDT electrode of the resonator.
- the dimension along the elastic wave propagation direction of the series arm resonator S3 is larger than the dimension along the elastic wave propagation direction of the series arm resonator S2.
- the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S3 is larger than the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S2.
- the metallized portion decreases. In the metallized part, the sound speed is slow. Therefore, when the duty is reduced, the metallized portion is reduced and the sound speed is increased. As the speed of sound increases (when the electrode finger pitch is constant), the resonance frequency or antiresonance frequency increases. Therefore, in order to keep the resonance frequency or anti-resonance frequency constant, it is necessary to increase the electrode finger pitch. Therefore, there is a possibility that the size of the acoustic wave propagation direction of the acoustic wave resonator is increased.
- the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S3 having the maximum dimension along the elastic wave propagation direction is set so that the series arm resonators S1 to S3 and the parallel arm It is desirable that the duty is maximum among the IDT electrodes of the resonators P1 and P2. As a result, the acoustic wave device can be further reduced in size.
- FIG. 6 is a circuit diagram of an acoustic wave device according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
- series arm resonators S ⁇ b> 11 and S ⁇ b> 12 are arranged on a series arm connecting the antenna terminal 3 and the receiving terminal 4 as a signal terminal.
- a parallel arm resonator P11 is connected between the antenna terminal 3 and the ground potential.
- a parallel arm resonator P12 is connected between the connection point between the series arm resonators S11 and S12 and the ground potential.
- the resonator closest to the antenna terminal 3 is the parallel arm resonator P11.
- the resonator closest to the antenna terminal 3 may be the parallel arm resonator P11 instead of the series arm resonator S11.
- the duty of the series arm resonator S11 closest to the antenna terminal 3 among the plurality of series arm resonators S11 and S12 may be smaller than the duty of the IDT electrodes of the remaining series arm resonators S12.
- the number of remaining series arm resonators other than the series arm resonator S11 closest to the antenna terminal may be one.
- FIG. 7 is a plan view for explaining the electrode structure of the elastic wave device according to the third embodiment
- FIG. 8 is a circuit diagram of the elastic wave device according to the third embodiment.
- a 5IDT type longitudinally coupled resonator type elastic wave filter 32 is provided instead of the series arm resonator S3 in the first embodiment. That is, in the series arm connecting the antenna terminal 3 and the receiving terminal 4 as a signal terminal, the plurality of series arm resonators S1 and S2 and the longitudinally coupled resonator type acoustic wave filter 32 are connected in series with each other.
- the acoustic wave device 31 includes a longitudinally coupled resonator type acoustic wave filter 32 as a plurality of resonators in addition to the series arm resonators S1 and S2 and the parallel arm resonators P1 and P2.
- the longitudinally coupled resonator type acoustic wave filter may be provided on the series arm.
- the resonators arranged in the series arm are the series arm resonators S1 and S2 and the longitudinally coupled resonator type elastic wave filter 32.
- the duty of the IDT electrode of the series arm resonator S1 closest to the antenna terminal 3 among the series arm resonators S1 and S2 is greater than the duty of the IDT electrode of the remaining series arm resonator S2. Should be small. Thereby, similarly to the case of the first embodiment, the occurrence of IMD can also be suppressed in the third embodiment. In addition, since it is not necessary to connect capacitors in parallel, the acoustic wave device 31 can be downsized.
- FIG. 9 is a circuit diagram for explaining a duplexer as a fourth embodiment of the present invention.

- the elastic wave device 1 according to the first embodiment is connected to the common terminal 43 as a first band-pass filter. That is, the antenna terminal 3 is connected to the common terminal 43.
- a second band pass filter 44 is also connected to the common terminal 43.
- the second band pass filter 44 is a transmission filter having a transmission terminal 45 and an output terminal 46.
- the output terminal 46 is connected to the common terminal 43.
- the duplexer 41 includes the reception filter that is the first band-pass filter including the elastic wave device 1 and the transmission filter that is the second band-pass filter 44.
- the common terminal 51 not only the elastic wave device 1 as the first band-pass filter but also two or more band-pass filters 52 and 53 having different pass bands are common to the common terminal 51. It may be connected. In that case, a bundling filter device suitable for carrier aggregation (CA) can be configured. When used for carrier aggregation (CA) or the like, the common terminal 51 only needs to be connected in common to the acoustic wave device 1 and at least one band-pass filter having a different pass band.
- CA carrier aggregation
- the embodiment of the reception filter has been described.
- the acoustic wave device according to the present invention may be applied to a transmission filter. That is, also in the transmission filter, the resonator that is closest to the antenna terminal has the most influence on the IMD characteristics. Therefore, the present invention can also be applied to a transmission filter having a plurality of series arm resonators in the series arm.

Abstract
