본 발명은 기계적 물성 및 가공성이 향상된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물, 이의 제조 방법, 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물로부터 형성된 성형품 및 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 이용한 성형품의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다.
【배경기술】
산업 혁명 이후, 인류는 화석 연료를 대량 소비함으로써, 현대 사회를 구축하여 왔지만, 한편으로 대기 중의 이산화탄소 농도를 증가시키고, 게다가 삼림 파괴 등의 환경 파괴에 의해 이 증가를 더욱 촉진시키고 있다. 지구 온난화는 대기 중의 이산화탄소, 프레온이나 메탄과 같은 온실 효과 가스가 증가한 것이 원인이 되는 점에서 , 지구 온난화에 대한 기여율이 높은 이산화탄소의 대기 중 농도를 감소시키는 것은 매우 중요하고, 이 배출 규제나 고정화 등의 여러 가지 연구가 세계적인 규모로 실시되고 있다.
그 중에서도 이산화탄소와 에폭사이드의 공중합 반웅은 지구 온난화 문제의 해결을 담당할 반웅으로서 기대되고 있고, 화학적 이산화탄소의 고정과 같은 관점뿐만 아니라, 탄소 자원으로서의 이산화탄소의 이용이라는 관점에서도 활발히 연구되고 있다. 특히, 최근 들어, 상기 이산화탄소와 에폭사이드의 중합에 의한 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지는 생분해 가능한 수지의 일종으로서 크게 각광받고 있다.
그러나, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지는 유리전이온도 (Tg)가 약 38~40 °C로 낮고, 200°C 부근에서 쉽게 분해되어 내열성이 취약한 특성이 있다. 또한,
인장강도, 신율 등의 기계적 물성이 좋지 못하고, 박막 제품의 경우 쉽게 깨지는 특성 때문에 다양한 분야로의 사용이 제한되었다.
따라서 , 이러한 물성을 보완할 수 있도록 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지에 다양한 물질을 흔합하는 기술에 대한 연구가 진행되었으나, 폴리에틸렌 (PE) , 폴리프로필렌 (PP) 등의 폴리올레핀은 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지와의 상용성이 낮아 블렌딩이 잘 이뤄지지 않는 문제점을 가지고 있다.
이에 따라, 친환경 소재인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지를 다양한 용도에 적용하기 위해, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지의 기계적 물성을 보완하고, 상용성 및 가공성을 향상시킬 수 있는 조성물의 개발이 필요한 실정이다.
[발명의 내용】
【해결하려는 과제]
본 발명은 기계적 물성, 내열성 및 가공성이 향상된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물 및 이의 제조 방법을 제공하기 위한 것이다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물로부터 형성된 성형품 및 이의 제조 방법을 제공하기 위한 것이다.
【과제의.해결 수단】
본 발명은, 중량평균분자량이 100 , 000 내지 500 , 000 g/mol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194°C인 폴리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75 : 25 의 중량비로 포함하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제공한다.
또한, 본 발명은 촉매의 존재 하에서 산화알킬렌 (alkylene oxide) 및 이산화탄소를 포함한 단량체를 중합시켜 중량평균분자량이 100 , 000 내지 500 , 000 g/mol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 제조하는 단계; 및 상기 제조된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194 °C인 폴리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75 : 25 의 중량비로 건식 흔합 (dry blending)하는 단계를 포함하며, 상기 폴리아미드로 직경이 1 내지 5 mm 인 펠렛을 사용하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 제조 방법을 제공한다.
이에 더하여, 본 발명은 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물로부터 형성된 성형품과, 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 성형하는 단계를 포함하는 성형품의 제조 방법을 제공한다.
이하 발명의 구체적인 구현예에 따른 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물, 이의 제조 방법, 이를 이용한 성형품 및 이의 제조 방법에 관하여 보다 상세하게 설명하기로 한다. 발명의 일 구현예에 따르면, 중량평균분자량이 100,000 내지 500,000 g/mol 인 플리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194°C인 폴리아미드를 95: 5 내지 75:25 의 중량비로 포함하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물이 제공될 수 있다.
본 발명자들은 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지가 석유가 아닌 이산화탄소를 기반으로 제조되며 생분해 가능한 수지의 일종으로서 친환경적일 뿐만 아니라, 투명성, 탄성, 신율, 차단성이 우수하여 다양한 용도에 적용이 가능하지만, 내열성, 인장강도 등의 기계적 특성이 취약하고, 다른 물질과의 상용성이 좋지 못한 한계를 인식하고, 이를 개선하기 위한 연구를 진행하였다.
그 결과, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 폴리아미드를 95:5 내지 75:25의 중량 비율로 흔합하면, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 단독으로 사용하는 경우 대비 인장강도와 초기 분해 온도를 향상시킬 수 있으며, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트의 자가점착성을 낮추어 anti-blocking 효과를 가져음을 실험을 통하여 확인하고 발명을 완성하였다.
구체적으로, 상기 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물은 중량평균분자량이 100,000 내지 500,000 g/mol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194°C인 폴리아미드를 상술한 중량 비율로 흔합하며, 인장강도, 신율, 인열강도, 내열성 등의 기계적 물섶 향상 효과와 anti-blocking 효과를 가져올 수 있다.
보다 구체적으로, 후술하는 실시예 1 내지 3 을 참조하면, 중량평균분자량이 100,000 내지 500,000 g/mol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194 °C인 폴리아미드를 93:7 내지 85:15 의 중량비로 흔합하면 신을 및 초기 분해 온도를 보다 향상시킬 수 있다. 또한 중량평균분자량이
100 , 000 내지 500 , 000 g/raol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194 °C인 플리아미드를 84 : 16 내지 75 : 25 의 중량비로 흔합하면 인장강도 및 인열강도를 보다 향상시킬 수 있다.
만일 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트에 융점 (mel t ing point )이 180 °C 내지 194 °C를 벗어나는 폴리아미드를 흔합하면, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트의 기계적 물성 및 내열성 등을 향상시키기 어려우며, 특히 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 가공성을 저하시킬 우려가 있다. 따라서, 상기 폴리아미드로는 융점이 180 °C 내지 194°C , 185 °C 내지 194°C 흑은 185°C 내지 190°C인 폴리아미드를 사용할 수 있다. 한편, 상기 융점은 ISO 3146 에 따라 측정된 융점을 의미할 수 있다.
상기 폴리아미드로는 96% (m/m)의 황산에 1 ) (m/v)의 농도로 용해시켜 ISO 307에 따라 측정 및 Huggins method에 의해 계산된 상대 점도가 3.5 내지 5, 3.5 내지 4.5 혹은 3.8 내지 4.2 인 폴리아미드를 사용할 수 있다. 이러한 폴리아미드를 사용함으로써 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 기계적 강도 및 내열성을 더욱 향상시킬 수 있다.
상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물은 폴리아미드로 직경이 1 내지 5 mm 인 펠렛을 사용하여 상술한 중량 비율의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 폴리아미드를 포함할 수 있다.
구체적으로, 상기 펠렛은 원기등 형상을 가질 수 있다. 그리고, 상기 원기등 형상의 직경은 1 내지 5 mm 혹은 2 내지 4 mm 일 수 있다. 또한, 상기 원기등 형상의 높이 (펠렛의 두께 )는 1 내지 5 誦 흑은 2 내지 4 醒 일 수 있다. 이러한 형상 및 크기를 가지는 폴리아미드 펠렛을 이용하면, 상술한 중량 비율로 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 폴리아미드를 용이하게 흔합할 있다 .
부가하여, 상기 펠렛 형태의 폴리아미드는 분쇄 등의 추가적인 가공 단계가 불필요하므로 분말 (powder )형태인 폴리아미드에 비하여 가격이 저렴하여 경제적이며, 비산하지 않아서 공정에서 다루기가 편리한 장점이 있다. 또한, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 폴리아미드를 건식 흔합할 때 펠렛 형태를 사용하는 것이 정량적인 feeding에 유리하여 바람직하다.
상기 폴리아미드는 나일론 -6 펠렛, 나일론 -66 펠렛, 나일론 -11 펠렛, 나일론 -12 펠렛과 같은 di amines 과 di acids(di acid 유도체들)호 구성된

상기 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물에서, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 폴리아미드는 건식 흔합 (dry blending)된 것일 수 있다. 상기 건식 흔합 (dry bl ending)으로 제조된 수지 조성물은 용액 흔합 (solut ion blending)으로 제조된 수지 조성물에 비하여 폴리아미드의 함량을 높일 수 있고, 이에 따라 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지의 물성을 조절하는데 유리한 장점이 있다. 보다 구체적으로, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 폴리아미드를 용액 흔합으로 제조하기 위해서는 상기 2종의 수지를 모두 용해시킬 수 있는 용매를 선택하여야 하는데, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 폴리아미드를 동시에 용해시킬 수 있는 유기 용매가 거의 없을 뿐만 아니라, 용해도 때문에 폴리아미드를 흔합할 수 있는 양도 제한적이다. 그러나, 상기 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물과 같이 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 폴리아미드를 건식 흔합하는 경우, 각 성분의 용매에 대한 용해로를 고려할 필요가 없으며, 특히, 폴리아미드로 직경이 1 내지 5 mm 인 펠렛을 사용하면 상술한 중량 비율을 충족하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 폴리아미드의 흔합물을 용이하게 제공할 수 있다. 또한, 폴리아미드로 직경이 1 내지 5 mm 인 펠렛을 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 건식 흔합하면, 압출기에사 흔합한 후 바로 원하는 형상으로 압출하여 성형품을 제공할 수 있기 때문에 추가 설비나 공정을 생략할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 하지만, 상기 범위 미만의 직경을 가지는 폴리아미드 파우더의 경우 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트에 상술한 중량 비율로 투입하기가 어려워, 상술한 중량 비율을 충족하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 얻기 위한 흔합 설비 (mixing equipment ) 및 흔합 공정이 추가될 필요가 있다는 단점이 있다.
상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물에 포함되는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트는 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트, 폴리프로필렌 카보네이트 (_[0-CH2CH(CH3)- 0-C0]n -), 폴리부틸렌 카보네이트, 폴리트리메틸렌 카보네이트 (-[0-CH2CH2CH2-0- C0]n-) 및 폴리사이클로핵신 카보네이트 (poly(cyclohexene carbonate) )로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1 종 이상의 지방족 폴리카보네이트를 포함할 수
있고, 이 중에서 폴리에틸렌카보네이트를 사용하는 것이 수지 가공 측면에서 바람직하다 .
상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트는 중량평균 분자량이 약 100 , 000 내지 500 , 000 g/mol , 바람직하게는 약 100 , 000 내지 200 , 000 g/mol일 수 있다. 이러한 범위의 중량평균분자량을 가지는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 사용함에 따라 우수한 기계적 물성 및 내열성을 가지는 성형품을 제공할 수 있으며, 가공 시 수지의 분해로 인한 가공성 저하 문제를 방지할 수 있다.
상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트는 이산화탄소와 산화알킬렌 (alkylene oxide)을 반응시켜 제조된 것일 수 있으며, 구체적인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트의 제조 방법은 후술할 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 제조 방법의 내용을 제한 없이 적용할 수 있다. 한편, 발명의 또 다른 구현예에 따르면, 촉매의 존재 하에서 산화알킬렌 (alkylene oxide) 및 이산화탄소를 포함한 단량체를 중합시켜 중량평균분자량이 100 , 000 내지 500 , 000 g/mol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 제조하는 단계; 및 상기 제조된 폴리알킬렌 .카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194°C인 플리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75 : 25의 중량비로 건식 흔합 (dry blending)하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 폴리아미드로 직경이 1 내지 5 mm 인 펠렛을 사용하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 제조 방법이 제공될 수 있다.
상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 제조하는 단계에서, 촉매는 유기 아연 촉매일 수 있으며, 상기 유기 아연 촉매는 아연 디카르복실레이트계일 수 있다. 이러한 아연 디카르복실레이트는 아연 전구체와 탄소수 3 내지 20의 지방족 디카르복실산 또는 탄소수 8 내지 40의 방향족 디카르복실산을 반웅시켜 얻어진 촉매일 수 있다.
보다 구체적으로, 이러한 유기 아연 촉매의 제조에 있어, 상기 아연 전구체로는 산화아연, 수산화아연, 아세트산 아연 (Zn(02CCH3)2) , 질산 아연 (Zn(N03)2) 또는 황산 아연 (ZnS04) 등과 같이 이전부터 아연 디카르복실레이트계 촉매의 제조에 사용되던 임의의 아연 전구체를 별다른 제한 없이 모두 사용할 수 있다.
또한, 이러한 아연 전구체와 반웅하는 지방족 디카르복실산 또는 방향족 디카르복실산으로는, 임의의 탄소수 3 내지 20의 지방족 디카르복실산 또는 임의의 탄소수 8 내지 40의 방향족 디카르복실산을 사용할 수 있으며, 보다 구체적으로, 말론산, 글루타르산, 숙신산 및 아디프산으로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 지방족 디카르복실산, 또는 테레프탈산, 이소프탈산, 호모프탈산 및 페닐글루타르산으로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 방향족 디카르복실산 등을 사용할 수 있다. 다만, 상기 유기 아연 촉매의 활성 등의 측면에서 상기 지방족 디카르복실산, 예를 들어, 글루타르산을 사용하여 상기 아연 디카르복실레이트계 유기 아연 촉매는 아연 글루타레이트계 촉매로 됨이 보다 적절하다.
그리고, 상기 디카르복실산은 상기 아연 전구체의 1 몰에 대해 약 1.0 내지 1.5 몰, 혹은 약 1. 1 내지 1.4 몰의 비율로 사용될 수 있다. 이로써, 우수한 활성을 갖는 아연 디카르복실레이트계 촉매의 적절한 생성을 담보하면서, 촉매 제조 과정 중의 촉매 입자 간 응집이 억제되어 보다 균일하고도 미세한 입경 및 우수한 활성을 나타내는 촉매가 적절히 얻어질 수 있다.
한편, 상기 아연 전구체 및 디카르복실산의 반웅에 의한 유기 아연 촉매의 제조는 액상 매질 내에서 진행될 수 있으며,.이러한 액상 매질로는 아연 전구체 및 /또는 디카르복실산을 균일하게 용해 또는 분산시킬 수 있는 것으로 알려진 임의의 유기 용매를 사용할 수 있다. 이러한 유기 용매의 보다 구체적인 예로는, 를루엔, DMF (디메틸포름아마이드), 에탄올 및 메탄올로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 1 종 이상의 유기 용매를 들 수 있다.
또한, 상기 아연 전구체 및 디카르복실산 간의 반웅 단계는 약 30 내지 110°C의 온도에서 약 5 내지 24 시간 동안 진행될 수 있다. 이러한 조건 하에 제조돤 유기 아연 촉매는 보다 균일하고도 미세한 입경과 함께 우수한 촉매 활성을 나타낼 수 있다.
상술한 유기 아연 촉매는 약 0.3 내지 1.0 , 혹은 약 0.3 내지 0.8 m , 흑은 약 0.5 내지 0.7 의 보다 미세한 평균 입경 및 약 0.3 m 이하, 흑은 약 0.05 내지 0.3 m , 흑은 약 0.05 내지 0.2 im , 혹은 약 0.05 내지 0. 1 의 입경의 표준 편차를 갖는 균일한 입자 형태로 될 수 있다. 특히, 중합 과정 중의 분산제의 사용으로 인해, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지의 제조를 위한 중합 과정에서도 이러한 균일하고도 미세한 입경을 유지할 수 있고, 그 결과 단량체
등 반웅물과의 충분한 접촉 면적이 중합 내내 유지되고, 뛰어난 촉매 활성을 중합 중에 나타낼 수 있다. 그 결과, 일 구현예에 따라, 보다 높은 수율로 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지를 제조할 수 있게 된다.
한편, 상술한 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지의 제조 방법에서, 상기 유기 아연 촉매는 불균일 촉매의 형태로서 사용될 수 있고, 상기 중합 단계는 유기 용매 내에서 용액 중합으로 진행될 수 있다. 이로써, 반웅열이 적절히 제어될 수 있으며, 얻고자 하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지의 분자량 또는 점도 제어가 용이해 질 수 있다.
이러한 용액 중합에서, 용매로는 메틸렌 클로라이드, 에틸렌 디클로라이드, 트리클로로 에탄, 테트라클로로에탄, 클로로포름, 아세토나이트릴, 프로피오나이트릴, 디메틸포름아마이드, N-메틸 -2-피롤라돈, 디메틸 설폭사이드, ' 니트로메탄, 1,4-다이옥산, 핵산, 를루엔, 테트라하이드로퓨란, 메틸에틸케톤, 메틸아민케톤, 메틸 아이소부틸 케톤, 아세톤, 사이클로핵사논, 트리클로로 에될렌, 메틸 아세테이트, 바이닐 아세테이트, 에틸 아세테이트, 프로필 아세테이트, 부틸로락톤, 카프로락톤 , 나트로프로판, 벤젠, 스티렌, 자일렌 및 메틸프로파졸 (methyl propasol )로 이루어진 군ᅳ에서 선택되는 1 종 이상을 사용할 수 있다. 이 중에서도, 메틸렌 클로라이드 또는 에틸렌 디클로라이드를 용매로서 사용함에 따라, 중합 반웅의 진행을 보다 효과적으로 할 수 있다.
상기 용매는 산화알킬렌 대비 약 1 : 0.5 내지 1 : 100의 중량비로 사용할 수 있고, 적절하게는 약 1 : 1 내지 1 : 10의 중량비로 사용할 수 있다.
이때, 그 비율이 약 1 : 0.5 미만으로 너무 적으면 용매가 반응 매질로서 제대로 작용하지 못하여 상술한 용액 중합의 장점을 살리기 어려울 수 있다. 또한, 그 비율이 약 1 : 100을 초과하면 상대적으로 산화알킬렌 등의 농도가 낮아져 생산성이 저하될 수 있고, 최종 형성된 수지의 분자량이 낮아지거나 부반응이 늘어날 수 있다.
또한, 상기 촉매는 산화알킬렌 대비 약 1 : 50 내지 1 : 1000의 몰비로 투입될 수 있다. 보다 바람직하게, 상기 촉매는 산화알킬렌 대비 약 1 : 70 내지 1 : 600, 흑은 약 1 : 80 내지 1 : 300의 몰비로 투입될 수 있다. 그
비율이 자나치게 작으면 용액 중합시 충분한 촉매 활성을 나타내기 어렵고, 반대로 지나치게 커지면 과다한 양의 촉매 사용으로 효율적이지 않고 부산물이 생기거나, 촉매 존재 하에 가열로 인한 수지의 백 바이팅 (back¬ bi t ing)이 일어날 수 있다.
한편, 상기 산화알킬렌으로는, 할로겐, 탄소수 1 내지 5의 알킬기, 탄소수 2 내지 6의 알키닐기 (alkenyl group) 또는 탄소수 5 내지 30의 (헤테로)아릴기로 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 2 내지 20의 알킬렌 옥사이드; 및 할로겐, 탄소수 1 내지 5의 알킬기, 탄소수 2 내지 6의 알키닐기 (alkenyl group) 또는 탄소수 5 내지 30의 (헤테로)아릴기로 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 3 내지 20의 사이클로알킬렌 옥사이드로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 1 종 이상을 사용하거나 혹은, 상기 산화알킬렌 중 하나 이상의 -CH2-가 -0-로 치환된 것을 사용할 수 있다. 상기 (헤테로)아릴기는 아릴기와 헤테로아릴기를 통칭하는 의미로 사용된다.
상기 산화알킬렌의 대표적인 예로는 할로겐 또는 탄소수 1 내지 5의 알킬기로 치환 또는 비치환된 탄소수 2 내지 20의 알킬렌 옥사이드를 들 수 있다.
보다 구체작으로, 상기 산화알킬렌의 구체적인 예로는 에틸렌 옥사이드 프로필렌 옥사이드, 부텐 옥사이드, 펜텐 옥사이드, 핵센 옥사이드, 옥텐 옥사이드, 데센 옥사아드, 도데센 옥사이드, 테트라데센 옥사이드, 핵사데센 옥사이드, 옥타데센 옥사이드, 부타디엔 모노옥사이드, 1,2-에폭시 -7-옥텐, 에피플루오로하이드린, 에피클로로하이드린, 에피브로모하이드린, 아이소프로필 글리시딜 에테르, 부틸 글리시딜 에테르, 부틸 글리시딜 에테르, 2-에틸핵실 글리시딜 에테르, 알릴 글리시딜 에테르, 사이클로펜텐 옥사이드, 사이클로핵센 옥사이드, 사이클로옥텐 옥사이드, 사이클로도데센 옥사이드, 알파-파이넨 옥사이드, 2,3—에폭시노보넨, 리모넨 옥사이드, 디엘드린, 2,3-에폭시프로필벤젠, 스타이렌 옥사이드, 페닐프로필렌 옥사이드, 스틸벤 옥사이드, 클로로스틸벤 옥사이드, 디클로로스틸벤 옥사이드, 1,2- 에폭시 -3-페녹시프로판, 벤질옥시메틸 옥시란, 글리시딜―메틸페닐 에테르, 클로로페닐 -2 , 3-에폭시프로필 에테르, 에폭시프로필 메록시페닐 에테르, 바이페닐 글리시딜 에테르, 글리시딜 나프틸 에테르 등이 있다. 가장

한편, 상술한 용액 중합은 약 50 내지 100 °C 및 약 15 내지 50 bar에서, 약 1 내지 60 시간 동안 수행할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 용액 중합은 약 70 내지 90 °C 및 약 20 내지 40 bar에서, 약 3 내지 40 시간 동안 수행하는 것이 보다 적절하다.
상술한 사항을 제외한 나머지 중합 공정 및 조건은 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지의 제조를 위한 통상적인 중합 조건 등에 따를 수 있으므로, 이에 관한 추가적인 설명은 생략하기로 한다.
다음으로, 상기 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 제조 방법은 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 제조하는 단계에 따라 제조된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 폴리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75 : 25의 중량비로 건식 흔합 (dry blending)하는 단계를 포함한다.
상술한 바와 같이, 석유가 아닌 이산화탄소를 기반으로 제조된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트는 생분해 가능한 수지의 일종으로서 친환경적일 뿐만 아니라, 투명성, 탄성, 차단성이 우수하여 다양한 용도에 적용이 가능하지만, 기계적 특성이 취약하고, 다른 물질과의 상용성이 좋지 못한 한계가 있다. 그러나, 상기 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 제조 방법과 같이 중량평균분자량이 100 , 000 내지 500 , 000 g/mol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180°C 내지 194 °C인 폴리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75: 25 의 중량비로 건식 흔합 (dry blending)함으로써, 인장강도와 초기 분해 온도 등이 향상되고, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트의 자가점착성을 낮추어 ant i-blocking 효과를 갖는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조할 수 있다.
상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 폴리아미드에 관한 구체적인 내용은 상술한 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 내용을 동일하게 적용할 수 있다.
한편, 상기 건식 흔합 (dry blending)은 용액 흔합 (solut ion Mending)에 비하여 폴리아미드의 흔합 함량을 높일 수 있어, 보다 우수한 기계적 물성을 갖는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조할 수 있다.
그리고, 상기 건식 흔합하는 단계는 통상적인 건식 흔합 방법, 조건 등을 따를 수 있으나, 바람직하게는 상온에서 적절한 조성으로 펠랫을 흔합한
후, T-di e extrusi on 과 같은 압출 장치를 통해 폴리아미드가 상용화된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조할 수 있다. 한편, 발명의 또 다른 구현예에 따르면, 상기 일 구현예의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물로부터 형성된 성형품과 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 성형하는 단계를 포함하는 성형품의 제조 방법이 제공될 수 있다. 그리고, 상기 성형 단계는 상기 조성물을 압출하여 필름으로 성형하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
이와 같이, 상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 폴리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75 : 25 의 중량비로 포함하는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 성형하여 제조한 성형품은 인장강도 등의 기계적 물성, 초기 분해 온도 등의 내열성과 가공성이 향상되고, 자가점착성을 낮추어 ant i -blocking효과를 나타낼 수 있다. 상술한 사항을 제외한 나머지 수지 조성물의 성형, 압출 공정 및 조건은 통상적인 수지 조성물의 성형 공정과 조건 등을 따를 수 있으므로, 이에 관한 추가적인 설명은 생략하기로 한다.
【발명의 효과]
본 발명에 따르면, 특정 분자량을 가지는 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 특정 융점을 가지는 폴리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75 : 25의 중량비로 흔합하여, 기계적 물성, 내열성 및 가공성이 향상된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조할 수 있다.
【발명을 실시하기 위한 구체적인 내용】
발명을 하기의 실시예에서 보다 상세하게 설명한다. 단, 하기의 실시예는 본 발명을 예시하는 것일 뿐, 본 발명의 내용이 하기의 실시예에 의하여 한정되는 것은 아니다. 실시예 1
(1) 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트의 제조
Glove box 내에서, 고압 반웅기에 촉매와 메틸렌 클로라이드 (MC)를 넣은 후, 산화에틸렌 (E0)을 넣었다. 이어서 반웅기 내에 이산화탄소 (C02)를 주입하고, 70°C에서 3 시간 동안 중합 반웅을 진행하였다. 반응 종료 후, 미반응의 이산화탄소와 산화에틸렌은 용매인 메틸렌 클로라이드와 함께 제거하였다.
이와 같이 제조된 폴뫼에틸렌 카보네이트는 140 , 000 g/mol 의 중량평균분자량을 가지며, 압출기를 통하여 펠렛 (직경: 3 mm , 두께: 3 匪)으로 제조되었다.
(2) 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 제조
상기 ( 1)에서 제조한 플리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 95 중량 %와 폴리아미드로서 BASF 사에서 상품명 Ul tramid C40L 으로 제공되는 펠렛 (직경: 2 내지 2.5 mm, 두께: 2 내지 2.5 匪, ISO 3146 에 따라 측정된 융점: 189°C , 나일론 6/66 공중합체, 96% (m/m)의 황산에 1% (m/v)의 농도로 용해시켜 ISO 307에 따라 측정 및 Huggins method에 의해 계산된 상대 점도: 3.89 내지 4. 17) 5 중량 %를 shaking 을 통해 균일하게 흔합 (dry blending)하였다. 그리고, 이를 40°C의 진공 오븐에서 12 시간 동안 건조시킨 다음, 이축 출기를 이용하여 컴파운딩된 펠렛 (직경 : 3 mm, 두께: 3 mm)과 필름 (너비: 100 mm, 길이: 5 , 000 讓, 두께: 0.025 mm)을 제조하였다. 실시예 2
폴리아미드의 함량을 10 중량 %로 변경한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1 과 동일한 방법으로 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 펠렛과 필름을 제조하였다. 실시예 3
폴리아미드의 함량을 20 중량 %로 변경한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1 과 동일한 방법으로 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 펠렛과 필름을 제조하였다. 비교예 1
폴리아미드를 사용하지 않은 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1 과 동일한 방법으로 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 펠렛과 필름을 제조하였다. 비교예 2
폴리아미드의 함량을 3 중량 %로 변경한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1 과 동일한 방법으로 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 펠렛과 필름을 제조하였다. 비교예 3
중량평균분자량이 80 , 000 g/mol 인 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트를 사용한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1 과 동일한 방법으로 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 펠렛과 필름을 제조하였다. 비교예 4
실시예 1 에서 사용한 폴리아미드 펠렛을 분쇄하여 직경이 약 40 ; am인 파우더 형태로 사용한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1 과 동일한 방법으로 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 펠렛과 필름을 제조하였다. 비교예 5
폴리아미드를 BASF사에서 상품명 Ul trami d C33 으로 제공되는 펠렛 (직경 : 2 내지 2. 5 mm , 두께: 2 내지 2.5 mm , ISO 3146 에 따라 측정된 융점: 195 내지 197 °C , 나일론 6/66 공중합체, 96% (m/m)의 황산에 1% (m/v)의 농도로 용해시켜 ISO 307 에 따라 측정 및 Huggins method 에 의해 계산된 상대 점도: 3. 19 내지 3.41)으로 변경한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1 과 동일한 방법으로 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제조하고, 이를 이용하여 펠렛과 필름을 제조하였다. 실험예
상기 실시예 1 내지 3 및 비교예 1 내지 5 에서 제조한 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 물성을 하기 방법으로 측정하고, 표 1 에 결과를 나타내었다.
(1) 인장강도: ASTM D638 규정에 따라 덤벨 형태의 시편을 제작한 후, UTM (Universal Test ing Machine , Instron 사)을 이용하여 50 mm/min 의 속도로 인장강도 (tensi le strength, TS max , kgf/cm2)를 측정하였으며, 동일한 시험을 5 회 반복하여 그 평균값을 표 1에 나타내었다.
(2) 신율: 인장강도 측정 시험에서와 같이 시편을 준비한 후 UTM 을 이용하여 상기 인장강도를 측정하는 조건 하에서 시편이 절단될 때까지 시편이 늘어나는 비율 (신율, elongat ion, %)을 측정하였으며, 동일한 시험올 5 회 반복하여 그 평균값을 표 1에 나타내었다.
(3) 인열강도: ASTM D 1004 규정에 따라 시편을 제작하여 인열강도를 측정하였으며, 동일한 시험을 5 회 반복하여 그 평균값을 표 1에 나타내었다.
(4) 초기 분해 온도: 샘플 10 mg 을 취해서 열중량 분석기 (Mett ler Toledo)를 이용하여 온도를 C /분의 속도로 600°C까지 상승시켜 분해 온도를 측정하였다.

상기 실시예 1 , 비교예 1 및 2 를 참조하면, 상기 실시예 1 의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물은 폴리아미드를 포함하지 않거나 미량 포함하는 비교예 1 및 2 에 비하여 인장강도, 신율, 인열강도 등의 기계적 물성이 우수하고 초기 분해 온도가 상승된 것이 확인된다.
상기 실시예 1 및 비교예 3 을 참조하면, 중량평균분자량이 100 , 000 g/mol 미만인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 사용한 비교예 3 경우, 본 발명에 따른 특정 형상 및 크기의 폴리아미드를 특정 함량으로 첨가하더라도, 동일한 폴리아미드를 같은 함량으로 첨가한 실시예 1에 비하여 저하된 기계적 물성 및 낮은 초기 분해 온도를 나타내는 것이 확인된다.
상기 실시예 1 및 비교예 4 를 참조하면, 비교예 4 는 실시예 1 과 동일한 폴리아미드를 사용하되, 폴리아미드를 직경이 40 인 파우더로 사용하였다. 비교예 4 에서는 실시예 1 과 동일한 폴리아미드를 사용하였음에도 블구하고, 폴리아미드가 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 잘 섞이지 않아 95 중량 %의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트에 5 중량 )의 폴리아미드를 첨가하는 것이 불가능 하였다. 이로써, 폴리아미드의 직경을 1 내지 5 mm 로 조절한 경우에 한하여 우수한 기계적 물성 및 높은 초기 분해 온도를 구현할 수 있는 비율로 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트와 폴리아미드를 흔합할 수 있다는 것이 확인된다.
상기 실시예 1 과 비교예 5 를 참조하면, 비교예 5 에서는 융점이 194 °C를 초과하는 폴리아미드를 사용하여 실시예 1 과 달리 필름 형상으로 압출 성형하는 것이 불가능하였다. 따라서, 플리아미드의 융점을 18C C 내지 194°C로 조절한 경우에 한하여 우수한 성형성의 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물을 제공할 수 있음이 확인된다.
한편, 실시예 1 내지 3 을 참조하면, 폴리아미드의 함량이 증가됨에 따라 인장강도가 향상되는 것이 확인된다. 또한, 폴리아미드의 함량이 7 내지 15 중량 %일 때 (실시예 2), 보다 우수한 신율과 초기 분해 온도를 나타내며, 폴리아미드의 함량이 16 내지 25 중량 %일 때 (실시예 3), 보다 우수한 인장강도 및 인열강도를 나타내는 것이 확인된다.

상기 폴리아미드는 나일론 -6 펠렛, 나일론 -66 펠렛, 나일론 -11 펠렛, 나일론 -12 펠렛, 나일론 -6/66 펠렛, 나일론 -6/6T 펠렛, 나일론 -6I/6T 펠렛, 나일론 -66/6T 펠렛 및 나일론 -61 펠렛으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1 종 이상의 펠렛을 포함하는, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물.

상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 폴리아미드는 건식 흔합된 것인, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물.

제 1항에 있어서,
상기 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트는 폴리에틸렌 카보네이트, 폴리프로필렌 카보네이트, 폴리부틸렌 카보네이트, 폴리트리메틸렌 카보네이트 및 폴리사이클로핵신 카보네이트로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1 종 이상의 지방족 폴리카보네이트를 포함하는, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물.
【청구항 6】
촉매의 존재 하에서 산화알킬렌 및 이산화탄소를 포함한 단량체를 중합시켜 중량평균분자량이 100 , 000 내지 500 , 000 g/mol 인 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트를 제조하는 단계; 및 상기 제조된 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 및 융점이 180 °C 내지 194°C인—폴리아미드를 95 : 5 내지 75: 25 의 중량비로 건식 흔합하는 단계를 포함하며,
상기 폴리아미드로 직경이 1 내지 5 mm 인 펠렛을 사용하는, 폴리알킬렌 카보네이트 수지 조성물의 제조 방법 .
