Definitions
- the present invention relates to an eye wash container used when washing eyes with an eye wash.
- Patent Document 1 discloses an eyewash container having a container main body that can store an eyewash and an eyepiece that is connected to the container main body and is applied to a portion around the eye.
- the container main body has a bottom wall and a peripheral wall rising from the outer edge of the bottom wall.
- the eyepiece is connected to the end of the peripheral wall opposite to the bottom wall.
- Such eye wash containers are often detachably attachable to the mouth of the bottle containing the eye wash, and often circulate in a state of being attached to the mouth of the bottle.
- the eyewash container as described in Patent Document 1 is in a state where the eyewash container is attached to the mouth of the bottle in which the eyewash solution is stored and the eyewash container is dropped on the floor in a posture positioned below the bottle. There is a concern that the container body may be damaged by the impact applied to the eyewash container. In addition, there is room for improvement in the adhesion (feeling of fit) of the eyepiece to the region around the eye.
- An object of the present invention is to provide an eyewash container capable of achieving both suppression of breakage of the container main body and improvement of adhesion to a portion around the eye of the eyepiece.
- the container body is made of a relatively flexible material
- the eyepiece part is made of a material that is more flexible than the material constituting the container body. In this way, it is possible to achieve both suppression of damage to the container body due to impact load acting on the eyewash container when dropped on the floor and the like, and improvement of the adhesion of the eyepiece part to the area around the eye. Is possible.
- the present invention is an eye wash container for washing eyes with an eye wash, comprising: a container body capable of storing the eye wash; and an eyepiece connected to the container body, the container body Has a bottom wall and a peripheral wall that rises from an outer edge of the bottom wall and can be gripped by a finger, and the eyepiece is the bottom wall of the peripheral wall
- the container body is made of a material for the body including polyethylene
- the eyepiece is made of polyethylene and a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness lower than the hardness of the polyethylene.
- An eyewash container comprising an eyepiece material comprising
- the container main body since the main body material contains relatively soft polyethylene, the container main body is prevented from being damaged when the eyepiece container is dropped, and the eyepiece material is less than the hardness of polyethylene and polyethylene. And a thermoplastic elastomer having a low hardness, the adhesion of the eyepiece to the site around the eye is improved, and the body material and the eyepiece material both contain polyethylene. Therefore, since the compatibility between the container main body and the eyepiece is high, peeling of the eyepiece from the container main body is suppressed.
- the main body material further includes ethylene vinyl alcohol having transparency higher than that of polyethylene.
- the eyewash liquid in the eyewash container after the eyewash becomes easy to visually recognize.
- the content of the ethylene vinyl alcohol in the main body material is preferably 30% by weight or more and 70% by weight or less.
- the hardness ratio represented by the ratio of the hardness of the container body to the hardness of the eyepiece is preferably 1.075 or more and 1.875 or less.
- the hardness ratio is 1.875 or less
- the flexibility of the container body is ensured, so that the container body is prevented from being damaged when the eyewash container is dropped.
- the shape ratio of the container main body is ensured by the hardness ratio being 1.075 or more (the deformation of the peripheral wall or the container main body when the peripheral wall is gripped and the eyepiece is pressed against the area around the eye) Therefore, it is possible to effectively improve the adhesion of the eyepiece to the region around the eye.
- an eyewash container capable of achieving both suppression of breakage of the container main body and improvement of adhesion to the site around the eye of the eyepiece.
- the eyewash container 1 includes a container body 10 and an eyepiece 20.
- the container body 10 is a container that can store an eyewash.
- the container body 10 includes a bottom wall 12 and a peripheral wall 14.
- the peripheral wall 14 has a shape that stands up from the outer edge of the bottom wall 12.
- the peripheral wall 14 has rigidity that can be held by a finger.
- the eyepiece 20 is connected to the end of the peripheral wall 14 opposite to the bottom wall 12 (upper side in FIG. 1).
- the eyepiece 20 has a shape that is continuously connected in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall 14.
- the container main body 10 is made of a material containing polyethylene (PE) (hereinafter referred to as “main body material”).
- the main body material includes polyethylene and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVA) having transparency higher than that of polyethylene.
- EVA ethylene vinyl alcohol
- the polyethylene either low density polyethylene (LDPE) or high density polyethylene (HDPE) may be used.
- the content of ethylene vinyl alcohol relative to the main body material is preferably set to 30% by weight or more and 70% by weight or less, and more preferably set to 40% by weight or more and 60% by weight or less.
- the eyepiece 20 is made of a material containing polyethylene and a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness lower than that of polyethylene (hereinafter referred to as “material for eyepiece”).
- material for eyepiece a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness lower than that of polyethylene
- a styrene thermoplastic elastomer is used as the thermoplastic elastomer.
- the hardness ratio represented by the ratio of the hardness of the container body 10 to the hardness of the eyepiece 20 is preferably set to 1.075 or more and 1.875 or less.
- the container main body 10 since the main body material includes relatively flexible polyethylene, the container main body 10 is prevented from being damaged when the eyepiece container 1 is dropped.
- the eyepiece material contains polyethylene and a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness lower than that of polyethylene, the adhesion of the eyepiece 20 to the site around the eye is improved, and for the main body. Since both the material and the eyepiece material contain polyethylene, the compatibility between the container main body 10 and the eyepiece 20 is high, so that the peeling of the eyepiece 20 from the container main body 10 is suppressed.
- the main body material contains ethylene vinyl alcohol having transparency higher than that of polyethylene, the transparency of the container main body 10 is increased as compared with the case where the main body material is made only of polyethylene. Therefore, it becomes easy to visually recognize the eyewash liquid in the eyewash container 1 after eyewashing.
- the content of ethylene vinyl alcohol in the main body material is not less than 30% by weight and not more than 70% by weight, the transparency of the container body 10 can be ensured while avoiding a significant cost increase. Specifically, when the content is 30% or more, the transparency of the container body 10 is sufficiently ensured, and when the content is 70% or less, a significant increase in cost is avoided.
- the hardness ratio represented by the ratio of the hardness of the container body 10 to the hardness of the eyepiece 20 is 1.075 or more and 1.875 or less, the container body 10 is not damaged when the eyewash container 1 is dropped. It is possible to more reliably achieve the suppression and the improvement of the adhesion of the eyepiece 20 to the site around the eye. Specifically, since the flexibility of the container body 10 is ensured when the hardness ratio is 1.875 or less, the container body 10 is prevented from being damaged when the eyewash container 1 is dropped. Further, when the hardness ratio is 1.075 or more, the shape retaining property of the container main body 10 is ensured (the peripheral wall 14 or the like when gripping the peripheral wall 14 and pressing the eyepiece 20 against a portion around the eye). Since the deformation of the container body 10 is suppressed), the adhesion of the eyepiece 20 to the site around the eye can be effectively increased.
- the eyewash container 1 of the above embodiment will be described together with a comparative example.
- four types of examples were prepared, and three types of comparative examples for the examples were prepared.
- the body material and eyepiece material of each example and each comparative example are as shown in FIG.
- the blending ratio (weight ratio) of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVA) is shown in the column of the main body material of Examples 3 and 4, the blending ratio (weight ratio) of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVA) is shown.
- “Material A” in the column of the eyepiece material is a material containing polyethylene, process oil, and styrene thermoplastic elastomer, and specifically, “Ernest” manufactured by Kuraray Plastics Co., Ltd. JC50N ”.
- “Material B” in the same column is a material containing polypropylene, process oil, and a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer, and specifically “Aron Kasei AR850C” manufactured by Aron Kasei Co., Ltd.
- FIG. 2 shows a hardness ratio (an index represented by a ratio of the hardness of the container body 10 to the hardness of the eyepiece 20).
- This hardness ratio was calculated based on the Shore A hardness of each material.
- the Shore A hardness of each material is as follows. That is, Shore A hardness of low density polyethylene is 45, Shore A hardness of high density polyethylene is 75, Shore A hardness of ethylene vinyl alcohol is 40, and Shore A hardness of polypropylene (PP) is 110.
- the Shore A hardness of material A is 40 and the Shore A hardness of material B is 40. These hardnesses are measured based on JIS K 6253.
- the hardness ratio of Example 3 and 4 it computed based on the Shore A hardness of low density polyethylene, the Shore A hardness of the material A, and the compounding ratio of low density polyethylene and ethylene vinyl alcohol.
- FIG. 2 shows three test results for these examples and comparative examples, that is, (1) drop test, (2) adhesiveness, and (3) transparency of the container body.
- test method and test result of each test will be described.
- the test result is ⁇
- the test result is ⁇
- the test result was also good when the hardness ratio was 1.075 to 1.875. From this, it is effective for the breakage of the container body 10 to contain a relatively flexible polyethylene as the material for the body, and it is effective that the hardness ratio is set in the above range. I understand.
- both the main body material and the eyepiece material contain the same type of resin (both the main body material and the eyepiece material contain polyethylene, or the main body material and When both eyepiece materials contain polypropylene), the test results were good. On the other hand, when the main body material and the eyepiece material did not contain the same kind of resin, the test result was x. From this result and the test result of the above (1), it can be said that it is preferable that both the main body material and the eyepiece material contain polyethylene.
- A Transparent (the amount of the eyewash can be visually confirmed well)
- ⁇ Translucent (the amount of eyewash can be visually confirmed)
- ⁇ Translucent (amount of eyewash is slightly visible)
- ⁇ Opaque (it is difficult to see the amount of eyewash)
- Example 4 is most preferable. Moreover, about the container main body 10 of Example 4, even when the ratio of ethylene vinyl alcohol was 40 weight% and 60 weight%, the result equivalent to Example 4 was obtained.
