In the region between the pair of second fold lines FL2, that is, the central region in the width direction W, the absorber 40 is relatively thin. Therefore, the central region is recessed on the non-skin surface side as compared with the region on the outer side in the width direction than the pair of second folding lines FL2. Thereby, excrement (for example, urine) becomes easy to be held in the central region of the absorber 40, and the ability to absorb excrement can be enhanced while suppressing leakage of excrement.
- excrement for example, urine
- the weight of the absorbent material in the intermediate layer 43 sandwiched between the upper layer 41 and the lower layer 42 in the overlapping portion 45 is lower than the weight of the absorbent material in the upper layer 41 and the lower layer 42.
- the intermediate layer 43 is substantially free of absorbent material.
- the intermediate layer 43 has zero design basis weight of the absorbent material, but allows the absorbent material constituting the upper layer 41 or the lower layer 42 to be mixed during the manufacturing process.
- the intermediate layer 43 does not include an absorbent material
- the intermediate layer 43 is composed only of the core wrap described above. Since the basis weight of the absorbent material of the intermediate layer 43 is lower than the basis weight of the absorbent material of the upper layer 41 and the lower layer 42, it is possible to suppress the thickness of the overlapping portion 45 from becoming too thick.
- the skin surface of the intermediate layer 43 and the non-skin surface of the upper layer 41 are not joined. Further, the non-skin surface of the intermediate layer 43 and the skin surface of the lower layer 42 are not joined. Therefore, it is easy to apply forces in directions opposite to each other between the upper layer 41 and the lower layer 42. Therefore, when a force directed from the outer side in the width direction W to the inner side in the width direction W is applied, a reaction force of the force is likely to be generated, and the effect of reducing the rigidity of the absorber 40 is easily exhibited.
