耐圧性を維持しながら、容器の収納性を高める一方で、容器の薄肉化による軽量化や省資源化を可能にしたパンク修理液収容容器およびパンク修理キットを提供する。パンク修理液Lが収容される収容部2aと開口部2bとを備えた容器本体2と、開口部2bに装着されたキャップ3とからなるパンク修理液収容容器1において、収容部2aの断面形状が非真円であり、収容部2aの高さ方向の少なくとも一部に収容部2aの全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材4を備えるようにする。

Description

パンク修理液収容容器およびパンク修理キット
 本発明は、パンク修理液収容容器およびパンク修理キットに関し、更に詳しくは、耐圧性を維持しながら、容器の収納性を高める一方で、容器の薄肉化による軽量化や省資源化を可能にしたパンク修理液収容容器およびパンク修理キットに関する。
 近年、車両に装着されたタイヤがパンクした際に、タイヤバルブを介してタイヤ内にパンク修理液を注入することにより、パンクを応急的に修理することが行われている。このような応急的な修理を可能にする装置としては、例えば、パンク修理キットが用いられる。このようなパンク修理キットを用いた場合、車両にスペアタイヤを搭載する必要が無くなり、省資源化や車両の軽量化が可能になる。また、車両のスペアタイヤ搭載スペースを別の目的に活用できるという利点もある。
 パンク修理キットとしては、例えば、パンク修理液収容容器内に収容されたパンク修理液をエアーコンプレッサーから供給される圧縮空気によってタイヤ内に注入する所謂圧送式のパンク修理キットが知られている(例えば、特許文献1を参照)。このような圧送式のパンク修理キットに用いられるパンク修理液収容容器は、主に樹脂材料で構成されるが、エアーコンプレッサーから供給される圧縮空気の圧力に耐えられることが求められる。そのため、このような圧送式のパンク修理キットに用いられるパンク修理液収容容器は基本的に断面形状が耐圧性に優れる真円になるように円筒状を成している。
 しかしながら、このような円筒状の容器(断面形状が真円)は、同じ体積の例えば四角筒状の容器(断面形状が非真円)に比べて車両に搭載する際に占めるスペースが大きくなり、収納性が悪いという問題がある。また、車載時に占めるスペースに対する容器の収容量(即ち、収容効率)を考えると、円筒状の容器(断面形状が真円)よりも例えば四角筒状の容器(断面形状が非真円)の方が優れていると言える。そのため、収納性や収容効率を高めるために、容器の断面形状を略四角形や楕円形等の非真円にすることが検討されているが、断面形状が非真円であると、容器側面の少なくとも一部に断面において他の部位に比べて曲率が小さい円弧状になる部位や直線状の部位が含まれるため、この部位が構造的に弱くなり、断面形状が真円である場合に比べて耐圧性が著しく低下するという問題がある。このとき、耐圧性を確保するために容器の肉厚を大きくしても、容器の体積が増加して収納性が阻害されたり、容器の容積が減少して収納効率が悪くなることが考えられるため不都合がある。それだけなく、肉厚の増加に伴って容器の重量が増加するため、パンク修理キットの軽量化は困難であり、また、充分な肉厚を得る必要からパンク修理液収容容器を構成する材料の使用量を低減して省資源化を図ることも困難であった。

 本発明の目的は、耐圧性を維持しながら、容器の収納性を高める一方で、容器の薄肉化による軽量化や省資源化を可能にしたパンク修理液収容容器およびパンク修理キットを提供することにある。
 上記目的を達成するための本発明のパンク修理液収容容器は、パンク修理液が収容される収容部と開口部とを備えた容器本体と、前記開口部に装着されたキャップとからなるパンク修理液収容容器において、前記収容部の断面形状が非真円であり、前記収容部の高さ方向の少なくとも一部に前記収容部の全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材を備えたことを特徴とする。
 また、上記目的を達成するための本発明の第1のパンク修理キットは、パンク修理液収容容器と圧縮空気供給源とを備え、前記パンク修理液収容容器がパンク修理液が収容される収容部と開口部とを備えた容器本体と前記開口部に装着されたキャップとで構成されているパンク修理キットにおいて、前記収容部の断面形状が非真円であり、前記収容部の高さ方向の少なくとも一部に前記収容部の全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材を備えており、該補強部材が前記圧縮空気供給源に対する固定機構を備えていることを特徴とする。
 或いは、上記目的を達成するための本発明の第2のパンク修理キットは、パンク修理液収容容器と圧縮空気供給源とこれらパンク修理液収容容器および圧縮空気供給源とを収納する筐体とを備え、前記パンク修理液収容容器がパンク修理液が収容される収容部と開口部とを備えた容器本体と前記開口部に装着されたキャップとで構成されているパンク修理キットにおいて、前記収容部の断面形状が非真円であり、金属からなる補強部材を備え、該補強部材は前記収容部の高さ方向の少なくとも一部に前記収容部の全周に亘って配置されていることを特徴とする。
 本発明のパンク修理液収容容器では、上述のように、収容部の高さ方向の少なくとも一部に収容部の全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材を備えているので、収容部の断面形状が非真円であっても、パンク修理液収容容器として充分な耐圧性を確保することができる。即ち、充分な耐圧性を確保しながら、非真円の断面形状による優れた収納性や収容効率を得ることができる。このとき、断面形状が非真円である収容部は、断面形状が真円である場合に比べて構造的に弱いため、従来は厚肉であることが求められたが、上述の補強部材によって充分に補強されているので、肉厚を大きくする必要がなくなり、前述の優れた収納性や収容効率を効果的に発揮することができる。また、耐圧性を維持したまま収容部の肉厚を従来よりも薄くして軽量化や省資源化を図ることも可能になる。
 本発明の第1および第2のパンク修理キットも、同様に、収容部の高さ方向の少なくとも一部に収容部の全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材を備えているので、収容部の断面形状が非真円であっても、パンク修理液収容容器として充分な耐圧性を確保することができ、耐圧性と収納性や収容効率を両立することができる。また、耐圧性を維持したまま収容部の肉厚を従来よりも薄くして軽量化や省資源化を図ることも可能になる。ここで、第1のパンク修理キットでは、補強部材が圧縮空気供給源に対する固定機構を備えているので、パンク修理作業時にパンク修理液収容容器を圧縮空気供給源に固定してパンク修理液収容容器の安定性を高めることができ、パンク修理液収容容器の転倒を防止することができる。このとき、収容部の断面形状が非真円であることで、パンク修理液収容容器と圧縮空気供給源との組み合わせの安定性も高めることができる。一方、第2のパンク修理キットでは、収容部の断面形状が非真円であることで、筐体内に大きな余剰空間を生むことなく、パンク修理液収容容器を圧縮空気供給源と共に筐体内に収納することが可能になる。
 本発明のパンク修理液収容容器では、補強部材が帯状または線状であることが好ましい。このような形状にすることで、補強部材が嵩高くなって補強部材の重量が増大したり補強部材を含んだパンク修理液収容容器全体の収納性が悪化することを防止することができる。
 本発明のパンク修理液収容容器では、補強部材の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率が収容部の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率の1.2倍~100倍であることが好ましい。このような弾性率に設定することで、補強部材によってパンク修理液収容容器を効果的に補強することが可能になり、充分な耐圧性を得るには有利になる。
 本発明の第2のパンク修理キットでは、筐体がパンク修理液収容容器を着脱自在に収納するための収納部を備え、この収納部の周囲に補強部材が組み込まれている仕様にすることもできる。或いは、筐体が補強部材を収容部の周囲に備えたパンク修理液収容容器を着脱自在に収納するための収納部を備えている仕様にすることもできる。
 尚、本発明における「断面形状」とは、パンク修理液収容容器の容器本体(収容部)の高さ方向(軸方向)に垂直な断面における形状である。

 以下、本発明の構成について添付の図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
 図1,2に例示するように、本発明のパンク修理液収容容器1は、容器本体2とキャップ3と補強部材4とから構成される。
 容器本体2は、図1,2に示すように、例えばゴムラテックスを含むパンク修理液Lを収容する略四角筒状の収容部2aと、容器本体2を正立したとき収容部2aの上部側に位置し、使用時に修理液Lが吐出される円筒状の開口部2bとを有する。容器本体2aを正立したとき、収容部2aの底面は、開口部2bの反対側に位置する。開口部2bは、例えば不図示のフィルムにより密封されており、未使用時に容器内のパンク修理液Lが劣化したり、容器からパンク修理液Lが漏れ出すことが防止される。この実施形態では、開口部6の外周面にねじ切りが施され、後述のキャップ3側のねじと螺合するようになっている。収容部2aおよび開口部2bは、例えばポリプロピレン(PP)や高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)等の合成樹脂から一体的に構成される。
 尚、図1,2に示すパンク修理液収容容器1の収容部2aは略四角筒状を有するので、その断面形状は図3に示すように、略四角形(四角形の4つの頂点がそれぞれ丸められた形状)である。本発明の収容部2aは、後述のように補強部材4で補強されるので、断面形状をこのような略四角形を含む非真円にすることができる。尚、本発明において、非真円とは、収容部2aの高さ方向(軸方向)に垂直な断面において、少なくとも一部に他の部位に比べて曲率が小さい円弧状になる部位や直線状の部位が含まれている形状を指す。具体的には、三角形、四角形等の多角形(図3のように頂点が丸められた形状や、頂点が直線的に面取りされた形状を含む)や楕円形が挙げられる。このように収容部2aが非真円の断面形状を有すると、同じ体積の円筒状の容器(断面形状が真円)に比べて車両に搭載する際に占めるスペースを小さく抑えることができ、優れた収納性を得ることができる。また、車載時に占めるスペースに対する容器の収容量(即ち、収容効率)の観点からも、円筒状の容器(断面形状が真円)よりも優れた収容効率を発揮することができる。
 キャップ3は、例えば、図1,2に示すように、円盤状の頭頂部3aと、この頭頂部3aの外周を筒状に囲む側壁3bとからなる。側壁3bは、頭頂部3aの一方側の面のみに設けられ、その内面には前述の開口部2bの外面に形成されたねじに螺合するねじが設けられている。キャップ3の頭頂部3aおよび側壁3bは、例えばポリプロピレン等の合成樹脂から一体的に構成される。尚、本発明は、後述のように容器本体2の収容部2aとその周囲に設けられる補強部材4に関するものであって、キャップ3の構造は特に限定されないので、説明を簡潔にするために、図1,2では簡単な構造のキャップ3を示した。このキャップ3は、未使用時に容器本体2の開口部2bを保護するためのキャップ3であり、パンク修理作業を行う際には、例えばパンク修理液を導出するための流路等を有するキャップ(不図示)に交換されることになる。
 本発明では、パンク修理作業を行う際に圧縮空気が送り込まれて内圧が高まる容器本体2が非真円の断面形状を有することで構造的に耐圧性が悪い場合に、これを補強するために、後述のように容器本体2(収容部2a)の周囲に補強部材4を設けるものであるので、その基本構造は、収容部2aの断面形状が非真円であれば、上述の態様に限定されるものではない。
 本発明のパンク修理液収容容器1は、上述の基本構造を構成する容器本体2とキャップ3の他に、金属製の補強部材4を備える。この補強部材4は、図1,2の実施形態では、収容部2aの高さ方向の一部に収容部2aの全周に亘って設けられている。
 このように金属製の補強部材4が収容部2aの周囲に設けられているので、パンク修理作業時に容器内に送り込まれた圧縮空気によって内圧が高まっても、補強部材4によって収容部2aを周囲から抑え込むことができる。特に、収容部2aの断面形状が非真円である場合、収容部2aの高さ方向(軸方向)に垂直な断面において、少なくとも一部に他の部位に比べて曲率が小さい円弧状になる部位や直線状の部位が含まれるので、この部位が構造的に弱くなり、断面形状が真円である収容部2aに比べて耐圧性が著しく低下するが、上述のように金属製の補強部材4によって収容部2aが補強されているので、断面形状が非真円であっても優れた耐圧性を発揮することができる。即ち、耐圧性を充分に確保しながら、断面形状が非真円であることによる前述の効果(収納性や収容効率)を得ることができる。また、断面形状が非真円である収容部2aを採用した従来の容器(補強部材4を備えない場合)では、実用に耐える耐圧性を得るために収容部2aを厚肉化する必要があったが、補強部材4によって優れた耐圧性が得られるので、パンク修理液収容容器1として充分な耐圧性を維持しながら、収容部2aの肉厚を従来よりも薄くして軽量化や省資源化を図ることも可能になる。
 補強部材4は収容部2aの高さ方向の少なくとも一部に配置されていればよいが、収容部2aが図示のように略四角筒状を成している場合、収容部2aの底面の近傍や開口部2bの近傍(開口部2bに連なる傾斜面の近傍)と比較して収容部2aの高さ方向の中心位置Pの近傍が構造上弱く、破壊し易い部分になるため、補強部材4は、収容部2aの高さ方向の中心位置Pから収容部2aの高さ方向に収容部2aの高さHの50%以上の範囲を覆うように配置されていることが好ましい。このように配置されることで、収容部2aを効果的に補強することができ、耐圧性を維持するには有利になる。この範囲から外れた位置に補強部材4が配置されると、収容部2aの構造上最も弱い部分を充分に補強することができず、耐圧性を高度に維持することが難しくなる。
 補強部材4の形状は特に限定されないが、補強部材4は金属で構成されるので、嵩高い構造物であると、容器本体2を薄肉化できたとしても補強部材4の重量が大きくなり軽量化を達成することが困難になる。そこで、補強部材4は、図1,2に示すような帯状、または図4に示すような線状であることが好ましい。このような形状にすることで、補強部材4が嵩高くなって補強部材4の重量が増大したり、補強部材4を含んだパンク修理液収容容器全体の収納性が悪化することを防止することができる。このような補強部材4としては、例えば、予め収容部2aを取り囲むような環状に成型したものや、ワイヤバンド、自在バンド等を用いてもよい。
 補強部材4を構成する金属としては、例えば、鉄、アルミ等を用いることができる。また、補強部材4を構成する金属材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率は、収容部2aを構成する材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率の1.2倍~250倍であることが好ましい。より好ましくは30倍~250倍であるとよい。このように、補強部材4を構成する金属材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率を、収容部2aを構成する材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率に対して充分に大きくすることで、補強部材4による優れた耐圧性が得られるので、充分な耐圧性を得ながら収容部2aの肉厚を低減するには有利になる。また、補強部材4を構成する金属材料自体が充分な弾性率を有するので、補強部材4が嵩高くなることを抑制することができ、パンク修理液収容容器の軽量化や収納性の改善には有利になる。このとき、補強部材4を構成する金属材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率が、収容部2aを構成する材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率の1.2倍よりも小さいと、補強部材4を構成する金属材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率が、収容部2aを構成する材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率と実質的に同じになるため、充分な耐圧性を得ることができない。補強部材4を構成する金属材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率が、収容部2aを構成する材料の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率の250倍よりも大きいと、大幅なコストアップになり、採用が難しい。
 このようなパンク修理液収容容器1は圧縮空気供給源5と共にパンク修理キットKとして扱われることが多いが、その場合、図5に示すように、補強部材4に更に圧縮空気供給源5に対する固定機構を設けて、パンク修理作業時にパンク修理液収容容器1を圧縮空気供給源5に固定可能にすることが好ましい。尚、図5はパンク修理液収容容器1が固定機構(不図示)を介して圧縮空気供給源5に固定された状態を示す。このようにすることで、前述のパンク修理液収容容器1としての効果を得ると共に、パンク修理キットKとして、パンク修理作業時にパンク修理液収容容器1を圧縮空気供給源5に固定してパンク修理液収容容器1の安定性を高めることができ、パンク修理液収容容器1の転倒を防止することができる。また、収容部2aの断面形状が非真円であることで、パンク修理液収容容器1と圧縮空気供給源5との組み合わせの安定性も高めることができる。
 固定機構としては、例えば、補強部材4の外面に圧縮空気供給源5に対して係止可能なフックを設ける一方で、圧縮空気供給源5の外面にこのフックを係止可能な溝等を設けることが考えられる。また、補強部材4の外面と圧縮空気供給源5の外面とに面ファスナーの対を設けることもできる。或いは、補強部材4を圧縮空気供給源5に予め固定しておき、この補強部材4に対してパンク修理液収容容器1(収容部2a)を挿入するようにしてもよい。
 更に、このようなパンク修理キットKの別の例として、図6の態様を例示することもできる。図6の例では、パンク修理液収容容器1と圧縮空気供給源5とは、筐体6内に収納されており、パンク修理キットKとして一体化されている。このような場合も、断面形状が非真円である収容部2aを有するパンク修理液収容容器1が、収容部2aの高さ方向の少なくとも一部に収容部2aの全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材4を備えることで、前述のパンク修理液収容容器1としての効果を得ることができる。このとき、収容部2aの断面形状が非真円であることで、筐体6内に大きな余剰空間を生むことなく、パンク修理液収容容器1を圧縮空気供給源5と共に筐体6内に収納することが可能になる。
 尚、このようなパンク修理キットKでは、筐体6内にパンク修理液収容容器1と圧縮空気供給源5とを接続する機構や、パンク修理液Lをタイヤに注入する機構(パンク修理液収容容器1とタイヤとを繋ぐホースを接続する機構)等を備え、更に、パンク修理液収容容器1のキャップ3が圧縮空気供給源5等と接続可能な構造を有することになるが、本発明は、パンク修理液収容容器1が非真円の断面形状を有することで構造的に耐圧性が悪い場合に、これを補強するために、後述のように容器本体2(収容部2a)の周囲に補強部材4を設けることを意図したものであるので、説明を簡潔にするために、図6ではこれら機構については省略している。
 このようなパンク修理キットKでは、圧縮空気供給源5等は通常繰り返し使用することが可能であるが、パンク修理液収容容器1は収容したパンク修理液Lを使い切ると使用不能となる。そこで、図7,8に示すように筐体6にパンク修理液収容容器1を着脱自在に収納するための収納部6aを設けて、パンク修理液収容容器1を交換可能にすることが好ましい。このとき、図7に示すように、収納部6aを、補強部材4を備えたパンク修理液収容容器1を着脱自在に収能するように構成するのではなく、図8に示すように、収納部6a自体の周囲に補強部材4を組み込んで、パンク修理液収容容器1が収納部6aに収納された際に補強部材4が収容部2aの高さ方向の少なくとも一部に収容部2aの全周に亘って配置されるようにしてもよい。特に、図8の構造では、補強部材4も再利用可能になるので、更なる省資源化が図れる。尚、図7,8では、収納部6aの構造が明確になるように、筐体6に収納される圧縮空気供給源5等の構成要素については省略している。

  1.  パンク修理液が収容される収容部と開口部とを備えた容器本体と、前記開口部に装着されたキャップとからなるパンク修理液収容容器において、
     前記収容部の断面形状が非真円であり、前記収容部の高さ方向の少なくとも一部に前記収容部の全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材を備えたことを特徴とするパンク修理液収容容器。
  2.  前記補強部材が帯状または線状であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のパンク修理液収容容器。
  3.  前記補強部材の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率が収容部の単位断面積当たりの引張り弾性率の1.2倍~250倍であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のパンク修理液収容容器。
  4.  パンク修理液収容容器と圧縮空気供給源とを備え、前記パンク修理液収容容器がパンク修理液が収容される収容部と開口部とを備えた容器本体と前記開口部に装着されたキャップとで構成されているパンク修理キットにおいて、
     前記収容部の断面形状が非真円であり、前記収容部の高さ方向の少なくとも一部に前記収容部の全周に亘って配置された金属製の補強部材を備えており、該補強部材が前記圧縮空気供給源に対する固定機構を備えていることを特徴とするパンク修理キット。
  5.  パンク修理液収容容器と圧縮空気供給源とこれらパンク修理液収容容器および圧縮空気供給源とを収納する筐体とを備え、前記パンク修理液収容容器がパンク修理液が収容される収容部と開口部とを備えた容器本体と前記開口部に装着されたキャップとで構成されているパンク修理キットにおいて、

  6.  前記筐体が前記パンク修理液収容容器を着脱自在に収納するための収納部を備え、該収納部の周囲に前記補強部材が組み込まれていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のパンク修理キット。
  7.  前記筐体が前記補強部材を前記収容部の周囲に備えた前記パンク修理液収容容器を着脱自在に収納するための収納部を備えていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のパンク修理キット。
