なお、以下の実施例等に記載の「部」は「重量部」を表す。
四つ口フラスコに、化合物1(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェノール)(25.0g)、SO2Cl2(16.38g)、ジエチルエーテル(250mL)を仕込み、窒素雰囲気下、25℃で4時間撹拌した。得られた反応溶液の溶媒を40℃以下で減圧留去し、濃縮残渣をシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィー(溶媒:酢酸エチル、ヘキサン)で精製し、精製溶液の溶媒を40℃以下で減圧留去して、化合物2(24.1g)を得た。
工程1と同様にして製造した化合物2(35.0g)、K3Fe(CN)6(239.3g)およびKOH(239.3g)を、水(3.5L)に溶かし、得られた溶液にベンゼン(2.4L)を添加し、窒素雰囲気下、反応溶液を25℃で20分撹拌した。CCl4:n-ヘキサン=1:9(体積比)の混合溶媒を用いて反応溶液から化合物3を抽出し、抽出溶液の溶媒を40℃以下で減圧留去して、化合物3(23.2g)を得た。
化合物3(23.0g)およびLiAlH4(5.46g)を、THF(460mL)に溶かし、反応溶液を0℃で20分撹拌した。得られた反応溶液を濾過して、残渣を除去した。ろ液の溶媒を40℃以下で減圧留去し、濃縮残渣をシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィー(溶媒:酢酸エチル、ヘキサン)で精製し、精製溶液の溶媒を40℃以下で減圧留去し、化合物4(19.5g)を得た。
25℃で窒素雰囲気下にて、化合物4(9g)、t-BuOK(9.08g)、およびジエチルエーテル(180mL)を混合した。その後、系内を-10℃に保ち、2.5Mのn-BuLiヘキサン溶液(32.3mL)を20分以上かけて滴下して添加した。その後、-10℃で2時間撹拌した。水(3.6mL)にて反応溶液をクエンチ後、濾過して、残渣を除去した。ろ液の溶媒を40℃以下で減圧留去し、濃縮残渣をシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィー(溶媒:酢酸エチル、ヘキサン)で精製し、精製溶液の溶媒を40℃以下で減圧留去し、化合物5(2,4-ジ-t-ブチル-6-(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェノキシ)フェノール、5.8g)を得た。化合物5が得られたことを、1H-NMR測定により確認した。

δ:7.42(d、J=3.60Hz、1H、Ar-H)、7.11、7.07(m、2H、Ar-H)、6.75(d、J=3.20Hz、1H、Ar-H)、6.65(d、J=13.2Hz、1H、Ar-H)、5.72(s、1H、OH)、1.49、1.45、1.32、1.23(s、9H、C-(CH3)3)
直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(住友化学社製「FS150」、温度190℃および荷重21.18Nでのメルトフローレート(MFR):1.0g/10分)の粉末100部に、2,4-ジ-t-ブチル-6-(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェノキシ)フェノール0.05部(ポリエチレン1kgに対して0.0012mol)、およびステアリン酸カルシウム0.05部を加え、ドライブレンドした。次いで、得られたブレンド物を30mmφの単軸押出機を用いて190℃で造粒し、ペレットを得た。得られたペレットの酸化誘導時間を、DSC装置(日立ハイテクサイエンス社製「DSC7020」)にて測定した。詳しくは、窒素雰囲気下にて、ペレットを20℃/分にて昇温し、ペレットが200℃に達した時に、100mL/分の酸素流量で酸素雰囲気に切り替え、酸素雰囲気の切り替え時から発熱ピーク発生時までの時間を、酸化誘導時間として測定した(即ち、酸化誘導時間=発熱ピーク発生時-酸素雰囲気の切り替え時)。また、発熱ピーク発生時は、酸素雰囲気の切り替え時から、発熱量が0mWである(即ち、横軸と略平行である)DSC曲線の接線と、DSC曲線の変曲点の接線との交点の時点として求めた。結果を表1に示す。ペレット(組成物)の酸化誘導時間が大きいほど、耐酸化性が高いことを示す。
2,4-ジ-t-ブチル-6-(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェノキシ)フェノールを加えなかったこと以外は実施例1と同様にして、酸化誘導時間の測定を行った。結果を表1に示す。
ポリプロピレン(住友化学社製「AW630G」、温度230℃および荷重21.18Nでのメルトフローレート(MFR):10.0g/10分)の粉末100部に、2,4-ジ-t-ブチル-6-(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェノキシ)フェノール0.05部(ポリプロピレン1kgに対して0.0012mol)、およびステアリン酸カルシウム0.05部を加え、ドライブレンドした。次いで、得られたブレンド物を30mmφの単軸押出機を用いて230℃で造粒し、ペレットを得た。テクノ・セブン社製「メルトインデクサL246-3537」を、シリンダー内の温度230℃、滞留時間5分、荷重21.18N(2.16kg)の条件で用いて、得られたペレットのメルトフローレート(MFR、g/10分)を測定した。結果を表2に示す。
2,4-ジ-t-ブチル-6-(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェノキシ)フェノールを加えなかったこと以外は実施例2と同様にして、MFRの測定を行った。結果を表2に示す。
2,4-ジ-t-ブチル-6-(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェノキシ)フェノール0.05部の代わりにBASF社製「イルガノックス(登録商標)1076」(オクタデシル
3-(3,5-ジ-t-ブチル-4-ヒドロキシフェニル)プロピオネート)0.065部(ポリプロピレン1kgに対して0.0012mol)を加えたこと以外は実施例2と同様にして、MFRの測定を行った。結果を表2に示す。

- R1~R4が、t-ブチル基である請求項1に記載の化合物。
- 請求項1または2に記載の化合物を含有する有機材料用の安定剤。
- 有機材料が、熱可塑性樹脂である請求項3に記載の安定剤。
- 熱可塑性樹脂が、ポリオレフィンまたはエンジニアリング樹脂である請求項4に記載の安定剤。
- 有機材料および請求項1または2に記載の化合物を混合することを含む有機材料の安定化方法。
- 有機材料が、熱可塑性樹脂である請求項6に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性樹脂が、ポリオレフィンまたはエンジニアリング樹脂である請求項7に記載の方法。
- 有機材料および請求項1または2に記載の化合物を含有する安定化された有機材料組成物。
- 有機材料が、熱可塑性樹脂である請求項9に記載の有機材料組成物。
- 熱可塑性樹脂が、ポリオレフィンまたはエンジニアリング樹脂である請求項10に記載の有機材料組成物。
