Definitions
- the invention relates to an S-connection for connecting a valve to a water pipe.
- Known S-ports for this purpose have a male thread for connection to a water pipe and a 3/4 "external thread for connection to a fitting, the longitudinal axes of said threads being parallel and spaced apart are arranged from each other.
- the S-terminals are S-shaped as a whole, so that by adjusting the angle of rotation after screwing the 1/2 "- external thread into an internal thread of a water pipe connection a lateral position (ie the arrangement of the longitudinal axis of the 3/4" -Out jointgewindes in the plane
- the distance between the two longitudinal axes is also referred to as “adjustability” because of this adjustment possibility "- External thread is particularly important to be able to mount a fitting with two at a standardized distance from each other arranged connections for hot and cold water exactly horizontal.
- the wall plate is an angled end piece of the water pipe, which has fastening tabs with which it is fastened within the wall.
- tap extensions In order to bridge the mentioned distance, so-called tap extensions are used, which are screwed into the wall disk with a 1/2 "outer edge and at their other end have a 1/2" internal thread, into which the 1/2 ""- The outside of the S-connector is screwed in.
- stopcocks can be used between the wall plate and the S-connection.
- the Hahnverinrangen are available in many different lengths in 5 mm Abstutüngen, z. B. from
- a pipe connection adapter which can compensate for a lateral offset similar to a conventional S-connection.
- the known Rohan gleichadapter on a first part, which is screwed into a wall plate or a H ah n veti än geru ng g and is disc-shaped at its end facing away from it.
- a second part of the known pipe connection adapter which is connected to the fitting, encloses the disk-shaped portion in a fluid-tight manner and can be displaced in the plane of the disk.
- a bridging difference I large distances between the valve and wall plate is not possible with the known pipe connection adapter.
- an S-connection has become known which, like a conventional S-connection, is screwed with one end into a wall plate or a tap extension.
- an adapter which is mounted adjustable in Axiall direction. By moving the adapter, the Overall length of the device can be adjusted in a certain frame to a given distance between wall plate and fitting.

- the S-piece can be shaped similar to a conventional S-connector.
- it has a 3/4 "external thread, which is connected to the fitting in the manner known from conventional S-type connections, for example with a union nut provided on the fitting, which fits onto the fitting 3/4 "- male thread of the S-piece is screwed on and clamped a Di cht surface of the valve with a front side of the S-piece.
- the seal is done here so in the Usually not in the area of the thread, but on the front side of the S-piece at the end provided with the 3/4 "outer ring.
- the lateral offset is effected by the distance between the longitudinal axes of the 3/4 "external thread on the one hand and the internal thread of the S-piece on the other hand.
- the lateral arrangement of the 3/4" external thread of the S-piece can thus, as in conventional S Connections are adjusted by twisting the S-piece.
- the pipe section in addition to the S-piece there is a piece of pipe which is responsible for the adaptability of the length of the entire S-connection.
- the pipe section can be straight and completely rotationally symmetrical. It has a 1/2 "male thread for connection to a water pipe, which in particular can be screwed directly into a wall washer.
- the 1/2" male thread of the pipe piece can also be in the manner known from conventional S-type fittings with a tap extension be screwed, if the distance between the wall plate and fitting is so large that it can not be completely bridged by the S-connection.
- the pipe section has an S-piece side section which has an external thread which can be screwed into the internal thread of the S-piece Longitudinal axis of the 1/2 ' * - external thread coincide for connection to the water pipe.
- the external thread of the S-piece-side portion of the pipe piece can be screwed into the internal thread of the S-piece, wherein a reliable seal in the region of this Gewi ndeverbi tion can be made for example with the aid of a sealant such as hemp or sealing tape.
- the S-connection according to the invention like a conventional S-connection, forms a 3/4 "outer end at one end Connection with the fitting and at the other end a 1/2 "external thread for the connection with the water line available.
- a further advantage of the S-connection according to the invention is that the overall length can be easily adapted to a given distance between the water pipe and the fitting by shortening the S-piece-side section of the pipe section as required.
- the shortening of the S-piece-side section leaves the connections between the water-line-side section and the water pipe on the one hand and the 3/4 "outside win- dow and the fitting on the other hand completely untouched These connections can be made in the usual way getting produced.
- the liquid-tight connection between the pipe section and the S-piece can be produced, in particular, prior to installation on the water line, so that the connection area to be sealed is particularly well accessible. Errors in the seal can be avoided.
- the external thread of the S-piece-side pipe section has a length of at least 30mm.
- the excess length can thus be easily shortened to adjust the overall length of the S-terminal in the desired manner. Shortening can be done step by step and with millimeter precision, so that an exact positioning of the 3/4 "outer thread is always possible.
- the 1/2 "male thread of the water pipe side portion of the pipe piece and the male thread of the S piece side portion of the pipe piece are spaced apart by 10 mm or less, and the spacing may be even smaller, for example less than 5 mm or less than 2 mm.
- the two threads can also be directly adjacent to each other or merge into each other. The smaller the distance between the two threads, the more the pipe section can be shortened.
- the 1/2 "external thread of the water pipe-side section of the pipe section is a conical thread, in particular this thread can be designed in accordance with the standard EN 1 0226 and / or DIN 2999.
- the external diameter of the thread increases with increasing distance the water-line-side end of the water-line-side section slightly, so that when screwed into a cylindrical internal thread of a wall plate a metallic seal is obtained.
- the external thread of the S-piece side portion of the pipe section is a cylindrical thread.
- the outside diameter of the thread is constant over the entire length of the external thread. With the intended shortening of the external thread of the S-piece-side section, therefore, nothing changes at the screw connection between pipe piece and S-piece.
- the internal thread of the S-piece is a Zyl-Indian thread. This is for the screw with the external thread of the S-piece-side portion of the pipe section particularly ei nfach, the seal as usual I can be done with the aid of a sealant.
- the internal thread of the S-piece is a tapered thread. This may also comply with one of the above standards. It has a slightly decreasing with increasing distance from the pipe piece facing the end of the S-piece inner diameter, so that when screwing the pipe piece also a metallic seal is achieved, which is considered to be particularly reliable.
- the external thread of the S-piece side portion of the pipe section has a length of at least 50 mm or at least 80 mm.
- the male thread of the S-piece side portion of the pipe fitting and the female thread of the S-piece are 1/2 "threads., Other diameters are generally possible built and allow optimal flow.
- the S-piece has a total length of 40 mm or less.
- the total length of the S-piece may be in the range of 25 mm to 40 mm, preferably in the range of 30 mm to 35 mm.
- the total length of the S-connection can be kept particularly short.
- Another advantage is that the connections between the pipe section and S-piece outside the wall, for example, in front of the plane of a surface of tiles applied to the wall. A leak in Verbi ndungs Scheme between S-piece and pipe section can be particularly easily noticed and eliminated. The risk of leaking water inside the wall unnoticed in this area and causing long-term damage is reduced.
- the S-piece has a fitting-side portion having the 3/4 "male thread, a pipe piece-side portion having the female thread, and a middle portion forming a transition between the fitting-side portion and the pipe-piece-side portion.
- Theitl Ie offset of the longitudinal axes between the two threads of the S-piece is realized by the middle section real.
- the length of the middle section is 10 mm or less. This favors a particularly notedsei tigert construction of the S-piece.
- the length of the internal thread of the S-piece 1 5 mm or less.
- the internal thread is sized so that a reliable seal against the external thread of the pipe section is possible.
- a length of the internal thread in the range of 8 mm to 15 mm, in particular in the range of 8 mm to 12 mm or of about 10 mm may be sufficient.
- the S-piece can also be made very short overall.
- the distance between the longitudinal axes is in the range of 3 mm to 40 mm.
- An adjustability in this range preferably in the range of 5 mm to 20 mm, is sufficient for the erforderl Ie, lateral adjustment of the arrangement of 3/4 "- foundedgewi Ndes usually.
- the S-piece in addition to the internal thread, has a 1/2 "internal thread which is arranged concentrically to the 3/4" external thread.
- the S-connection is not only suitable for connecting a fitting to the 3/4 "outlet in the manner described above, but can also be used for connection with an angle valve, which is concentric with the 3/4 "- male thread arranged a 1/2" - female thread is screwed in.
- the external thread of the S-piece-side section on a corrugation can facilitate sealing with a sealant such as hemp or sealing tape when screwing.
- the S-piece-side section can be shortened with a pipe saw. Shortening with a pipe saw is particularly easy and with sufficient accuracy without a special tool.
- the S connection can be made from all materials that can be used in the sanitary sector.
- the S-port is made of brass and or is chrome plated. He is thus particularly durable. Also used can be gunmetal or stainless steel.
