 本発明の目的は、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラス中の泡を減少させることを容易にしたガラス物品の製造装置及びガラス物品の製造方法を提供することにある。
 本発明の一側面に従うガラス物品の製造装置は、溶融ガラスからガラス物品を製造するガラス物品の製造装置であって、第1溶融炉と第2溶融炉とを含むガラス溶融炉と、前記第1溶融炉の流出部から前記第2溶融炉の流入部へ溶融ガラスを送る流路とを備え、前記第2溶融炉の流入部は、前記第1溶融炉の流出部よりも上方に位置し、前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、前記第1溶融炉の流出部と前記第2溶融炉の流入部との高低差は、30%以上である。
 溶融ガラス中の泡は時間の経過に伴って上昇するため、第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラス中に含まれる泡は、第1溶融炉の内底に近づくほど少ない。ここで、上記製造装置において、第2溶融炉の流入部は、第1溶融炉の流出部よりも上方に位置している。また、第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、第1溶融炉の流出部と第2溶融炉の流入部との高低差は30%以上である。このため、第1溶融炉の流出部から第2溶融炉の流入部へ溶融ガラスを送る流路は、泡の混入の比較的少ない溶融ガラスを第1溶融炉内から上方に向けて移送する。このとき、溶融ガラス中の泡に加わる圧力が低下するため、溶融ガラス中で泡が膨張する。これにより、溶融ガラス中の泡は浮力を受け易くなるため、第2溶融炉内で液面まで上昇し易くなる。すなわち、上記流路を利用して、泡の混入の比較的少ない溶融ガラスを第1溶融炉から第2溶融炉に送ることができるとともに、溶融ガラス中の泡を膨張させることで第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの液面から泡を抜け易くすることができる。
 上記ガラス物品の製造装置において、前記第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、前記第2溶融炉の流入部と前記第2溶融炉の流出部との高低差は、30%以上であることが好ましい。
 この構成によれば、泡の混入の比較的少ない溶融ガラスを第2溶融炉の流出部から下流へ送ることができる。
 上記ガラス物品の製造装置において、前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、前記第1溶融炉の内底と前記第2溶融炉の流入部の下端との高低差は、50%以上であることが好ましい。
 ここで、第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの液面は、第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの液面と同等の高さであるため、上記のように高低差を規定することで、上記流路を通じた溶融ガラスは、第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの液面により近い位置で第2溶融炉内に流入する。このため、第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの液面から泡をより抜け易くすることができる。
 上記ガラス物品の製造装置において、前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、前記第1溶融炉の内底と前記第1溶融炉の流出部の上端との高低差は、50%以下であることが好ましい。
 この構成によれば、第1溶融炉の流出部は、第1溶融炉の内底により近づくため、上記流路に流入する溶融ガラス中の泡をより減少させることができる。
 上記ガラス物品の製造装置において、清澄槽をさらに備え、前記第2溶融炉の流出部は、前記清澄槽に連結されることが好ましい。
 この構成によれば、泡を減少させた溶融ガラスを清澄槽へ送ることにより、例えば、清澄槽を用いた溶融ガラスの清澄時間を短縮しても、ガラス物品に混入する泡を減少させることが可能である。
 上記ガラス物品の製造装置において、前記第1溶融炉には、ガラス原料が投入されることが好ましい。
 上記のようにガラス原料が投入される第1溶融炉では、溶融ガラス中に泡が混入し易い。このような第1溶融炉から流出する溶融ガラスの泡を減少させることで、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラス中の泡を効率的に減少させることができる。
 上記ガラス物品の製造装置において、前記ガラス物品は、オーバーフローダウンドロー法を用いて成形される板ガラスであることが好ましい。
 上記の板ガラスでは、優れた外観品質を求められることが多いため、板ガラスの泡の混入を減少させることで、板ガラスの歩留まりを高めるという観点で特に有利である。
 本発明の別の側面に従うガラス物品の製造方法は、上記のガラス物品の製造装置を用いてガラス物品を製造する。
 上記ガラス物品の製造方法において、前記第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの温度は、前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの温度よりも高いことが好ましい。
 この方法によれば、例えば、第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラス中で清澄剤が作用し易くなる。
 本発明の一側面によれば、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラス中の泡を減少させることが容易となる。本発明の他の側面及び利点は本発明の技術的思想の例を示す図面と共に以下の記載から明らかとなる。

 以下、ガラス物品の製造装置及びガラス物品の製造方法の実施形態について図面を参照して説明する。
 <製造装置の概要>
 図1に示すように、溶融ガラスMGからガラス物品を製造するガラス物品の製造装置11(以下、単に製造装置11という場合がある。)は、第1溶融炉12と第2溶融炉13とから構成されるガラス溶融炉と、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aから第2溶融炉13の流入部13aへ溶融ガラスMGを送る第1流路14とを備えている。第1溶融炉12には、ガラス原料が投入される。第1流路14は、第1移送管15により形成されている。製造装置11は、第2溶融炉13の下流側に配置される清澄槽16と、第2溶融炉13の流出部13bから清澄槽16の流入部16aへ溶融ガラスMGを送る第2流路17とを備えている。第2流路17は、第2移送管18により形成されている。
 第1溶融炉12の流出部12a、第2溶融炉13の流入部13a及び流出部13b、並びに清澄槽16の流入部16aは、いずれも溶融ガラスMG中に開口している。
 製造装置11は、溶融ガラスMGを成形する成形部を備えている。成形部には、清澄槽16から溶融ガラスMGが送られる。なお、清澄槽16と成形部との間には、例えば、溶融ガラスMGを均質化する撹拌機を設置することもできる。
 製造装置11の成形部としては、ガラス物品の種類に応じた成形方法に基づき選択することができる。成形方法としては、例えば、ロールアウト法、アップドロー法、フロート法、及びダウンドロー法(スロットダウンドロー法又はオーバーフローダウンドロー法)が挙げられる。
 第1溶融炉12及び第2溶融炉13は、耐火物製の溶融炉本体と、溶融炉本体を加熱する加熱器とを備えている。溶融炉本体を構成する耐火物としては、例えば、アルミナ系無機材料、及びジルコニア系無機材料が挙げられる。清澄槽16は、白金又は白金合金製である。
 第1溶融炉12及び第2溶融炉13に用いられる加熱器としては、例えば、電気式加熱器、及びガスバーナーが挙げられる。第1移送管15、第2移送管18及び清澄槽16についても、加熱器で加熱することも可能であるが、白金又は白金合金で構成された壁面に直接電流を流すことで加熱する白金直接通電加熱が好ましい。
 <製造装置の詳細構成>
 製造装置11は、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGを所定の深さD1(第1の溶融深さと呼ぶこともある)に維持し、第2溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGを所定の深さD2(第2の溶融深さと呼ぶこともある)に維持しながら運転される。当該所定の深さD1、D2は、第1溶融炉12及び第2溶融炉13にそれぞれ予め設定されることができる。
 第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1を100%とした場合、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aと第2溶融炉13の流入部13aとの高低差H1は30%以上である。この高低差H1は、40%以上であることが好ましく、より好ましくは50%以上である。なお、この高低差H1は、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aの鉛直方向における中心と第2溶融炉13の流入部13aの鉛直方向における中心との高低差をいう。高低差H1の上限は、深さD1の100%未満であれば特に限定されない。
 第2溶融炉13の流出部13bは、第2溶融炉13の流入部13aよりも下方に位置している。第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD2を100%とした場合、第2溶融炉13の流入部13aと第2溶融炉13の流出部13bとの高低差H2は、30%以上であることが好ましい。この高低差H2は、40%以上であることがより好ましく、さらに好ましくは50%以上である。なお、この高低差H2は、第2溶融炉13の流入部13aの鉛直方向における中心と第2溶融炉13の流出部13bの鉛直方向における中心との高低差をいう。高低差H2の上限は、深さD2の100%未満であれば特に限定されない。
 第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1を100%とした場合、第1溶融炉12の内底と第2溶融炉13の流入部13aの下端との高低差H3は、50%以上であることが好ましい。この高低差H3は、60%以上であることがより好ましく、さらに好ましくは70%以上である。高低差H3の上限は、深さD1の100%未満であれば特に限定されない。
 第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1を100%とした場合、第1溶融炉12の内底と第1溶融炉12の流出部12aの上端との高低差H4は、50%以下であることが好ましい。この高低差H4は、40%以下であることがより好ましく、さらに好ましくは30%以下である。高低差H4の下限は、深さD1の0%超であれば特に限定されない。
 第1溶融炉12の流出部12aの下端は、第1溶融炉12の内底よりも上方に位置することが好ましい。第2溶融炉13の流出部13bの下端は、第2溶融炉13の内底よりも上方に位置することが好ましい。
 第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1は、特に限定されないが、例えば、600mm以上、2000mm以下の範囲である。また、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD2についても、特に限定されないが、例えば、600mm以上、2000mm以下の範囲である。
 <ガラス物品の用途>
 ガラス物品としては、特に限定されず、例えば、板ガラス、及び管ガラスが挙げられる。本実施形態のガラス物品の製造装置11は、板ガラスの製造装置11に用いられることが好ましい。ガラス物品の用途としては、例えば、ディスプレイ用途、タッチパネル用途、光電変換パネル用途、電子デバイス用途、窓ガラス用途、建材用途、及び車両用途が挙げられる。
 <ガラス組成>
 本実施形態のガラス物品の製造装置11により製造されるガラス物品としては、例えば、ソーダガラス、ソーダライムガラス、硼珪酸ガラス、アルミノシリケートガラス、アルカリ含有ガラス、及び無アルカリガラスが挙げられる。ガラス物品は、特に、ガラス組成として、質量%で、SiO:50~80%、Al:5~25%、B:0~20%、MgO:0~15%、CaO:1~15%、SrO:0~15%、BaO:0~15%、SnO:0~1%を含有し、アルカリ金属酸化物(NaO、KO、及びLiO)の含有量が合計量で0.5質量%未満であるディスプレイ用ガラスであることが好ましい。本実施形態では上記組成のガラス物品が得られるよう計量及び混合したガラス原料を第1溶融炉12へ投入する場合を一例として説明している。なお、ガラス原料には、必要に応じて清澄剤を含有させることができる。清澄剤としては、溶融ガラスMG中で酸素ガスを発生する化合物であり、例えば、酸化スズ、酸化セリウムが挙げられる。
 <ガラス物品の製造及び作用>
 次に、上記ガラス物品の製造装置11を用いた製造方法及び主な作用について説明する。
 ガラス物品の製造装置11の第1溶融炉12内ではガラス原料が溶融される。第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGは、第1流路14を通じて第2溶融炉13に送られる。第2溶融炉13には、溶融ガラスMGが第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの液面とほぼ同等の高さまで溶融ガラスMGが送られる。なお、第2溶融炉13の流入部13aは、溶融ガラスMG中に開口されるように、第1溶融炉12中の溶融ガラスMGの液面が調整される。
 図2に示すように、溶融ガラスMG中の泡は時間の経過に伴って上昇するため、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMG中に含まれる泡は、第1溶融炉12の内底に近づくほど少ない。ここで、上記製造装置11において、第2溶融炉13の流入部13aは、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aよりも上方に位置している。また、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1を100%とした場合、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aと第2溶融炉13の流入部13aとの高低差H1は30%以上である。このため、第1流路14は、泡の混入の比較的少ない溶融ガラスMGを第1溶融炉12内から上方に向けて移送する。このとき、溶融ガラスMG中の泡に加わる圧力が低下するため、溶融ガラスMG中で泡が膨張する。これにより、溶融ガラスMG中の泡は浮力を受け易くなるため、第2溶融炉13内で液面まで上昇し易くなる。すなわち、第1流路14を利用して、泡の混入の比較的少ない溶融ガラスMGを第1溶融炉12から第2溶融炉13に送ることができるとともに、溶融ガラスMG中の泡を膨張させることで第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの液面から泡を抜け易くすることができる。
 第2溶融炉13内において、溶融ガラスMGは、第2流路17を通じて清澄槽16へ送られる。清澄槽16では、溶融ガラスMG中の泡をさらに減少させることができる。このような溶融ガラスMGを用いて成形されたガラス物品では、泡を要因とした欠陥が発生し難い。
 なお、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの温度を第1温度T1、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの温度を第2温度T2とした場合、例えば、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGに含まれる清澄剤の作用を高めるという観点から、第2温度T2は、第1温度T1よりも高いことが好ましい。なお、清澄槽16内の溶融ガラスMGの温度を第3温度T3とした場合、第3温度T3は、第2温度T2以上の温度であることが好ましい。
 第1温度T1は、1400℃以上、1600℃以下の範囲であることが好ましい。第2温度T2は、1450℃以上、1650℃以下であることが好ましい。第3温度T3は、1500℃以上、1700℃以下であることが好ましい。
 以上詳述した実施形態によれば、次のような作用効果が発揮される。
 (1)ガラス物品の製造装置11は、第1溶融炉12と第2溶融炉13とを含むガラス溶融炉と、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aから第2溶融炉13の流入部13aへ溶融ガラスMGを送る第1流路14とを備えている。第2溶融炉13の流入部13aは、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aよりも上方に位置している。そして、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1を100%とした場合、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aと第2溶融炉13の流入部13aとの高低差H1が30%以上である。この構成によれば、第1流路14を利用して、泡の混入の比較的少ない溶融ガラスMGを第1溶融炉12から第2溶融炉13に送ることができるとともに、溶融ガラスMG中の泡を膨張させることで第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの液面から泡を抜け易くすることができる。このため、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラスMG中の泡を減少させることが容易となる。
 (2)ガラス物品の製造装置11において、第2溶融炉13の流出部13bは、第2溶融炉13の流入部13aよりも下方に位置し、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD2を100%とした場合、第2溶融炉13の流入部13aと第2溶融炉13の流出部13bとの高低差H2は、30%以上であることが好ましい。この場合、泡の混入の比較的少ない溶融ガラスMGを第2溶融炉13の流出部13bから下流へ送ることができるため、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラスMG中の泡を減少させることがさらに容易となる。
 (3)ガラス物品の製造装置11において、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1を100%とした場合、第1溶融炉12の内底と第2溶融炉13の流入部13aの下端との高低差H3は、50%以上であることが好ましい。
 ここで、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの液面は、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの液面と同等の高さであるため、上記のように高低差H3を規定することで、第1流路14を通じた溶融ガラスMGは、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの液面により近い位置で第2溶融炉13内に流入する。このため、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの液面から泡をより抜け易くすることができる。これにより、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラスMG中の泡を減少させることがさらに容易となる。
 (4)ガラス物品の製造装置11において、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの深さD1を100%とした場合、第1溶融炉12の内底と第1溶融炉12の流出部12aの上端との高低差H4は、50%以下であることが好ましい。この場合、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aは、第1溶融炉12の内底により近づくため、第1流路14に流入する溶融ガラスMG中の泡をより減少させることができる。これにより、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラスMG中の泡を減少させることがさらに容易となる。
 (5)ガラス物品の製造装置11は、清澄槽16をさらに備え、第2溶融炉13の流出部13bは、清澄槽16に連結されることが好ましい。この場合、泡を減少させた溶融ガラスMGを清澄槽16へ送ることにより、例えば、清澄槽16を用いた溶融ガラスMGの清澄時間を短縮しても、ガラス物品に混入する泡を減少させることが可能である。
 (6)ガラス物品の製造装置11において、第1溶融炉12には、ガラス原料が投入されることが好ましい。このようにガラス原料が投入される第1溶融炉12では、溶融ガラスMG中に泡が混入し易い。このような第1溶融炉12から流出する溶融ガラスMGの泡を減少させることで、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラスMG中の泡を効率的に減少させることができる。
 (7)ガラス物品の製造装置11において、ガラス物品は、オーバーフローダウンドロー法を用いて成形される板ガラスであることが好ましい。こうした板ガラスでは、優れた外観品質を求められることが多いため、板ガラスの泡の混入を減少させることで、板ガラスの歩留まりを高めるという観点で特に有利である。
 (8)例えば、第1溶融炉12の内壁を構成する耐火物(例えば、ジルコニア系耐火物)が溶融ガラスMGに混入することで、溶融ガラスMGが汚染されるおそれがある。汚染された溶融ガラスMGからガラス物品が成形されると、例えば、ガラス物品の外観に影響を及ぼすおそれがある。具体的には、ガラス物品において、バリ、うねり、すじ、異物混入等が発生し易くなる。ここで、耐火物により汚染された溶融ガラスMGは、比重が高いことから、ガラス溶融炉内で沈降する傾向にある。この点、上記(1)で述べたガラス物品の製造装置11において、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aと第2溶融炉13の流入部13aとの高低差H1が30%以上であるため、汚染された溶融ガラスMGは、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aから第2溶融炉13の流入部13aへ移送され難い。従って、汚染された溶融ガラスMGからガラス物品が成形され難くなる。これにより、ガラス物品において、バリ、うねり、すじ、異物混入等が発生することを抑えることができる。
 また、汚染された溶融ガラスMGからガラス物品が成形され難くするという観点から、ガラス物品の製造装置11において、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aの下端は、第1溶融炉12の内底よりも上方に位置することが好ましい。この場合、汚染された溶融ガラスMGが第1流路14に流入し難くなるため、汚染された溶融ガラスMGからガラス物品が成形され難くなる。同様の観点から、第2溶融炉13の流出部13bの下端は、第2溶融炉13の内底よりも上方に位置することが好ましい。
 (9)上述した製造装置11を用いたガラス物品の製造方法によれば、例えば、上記(1)欄で述べた作用効果が得られるため、ガラス物品の品質を高めたり、ガラス物品の歩留まりを高めたりすることが容易となる。
 (10)ガラス物品の製造方法において、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの温度は、第1溶融炉12内の溶融ガラスMGの温度よりも高いことが好ましい。この場合、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMG中で清澄剤が作用し易くなるため、ガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラスMG中の泡を減少させることがさらに容易となる。
 (11)例えば、第1流路14や第2溶融炉13に酸素ガスをバブリングすると、溶融ガラスMG中の泡がより大きくなるため、第2溶融炉13内の溶融ガラスMGの液面から泡をより抜け易くすることができる。本実施形態の製造装置11及び製造方法によれば、上述したようにガラス溶融炉から流出される溶融ガラスMG中の泡を減少させることが容易となるため、酸素ガスのバブリングを省略することができる。
 上記実施形態を次のように変更して構成してもよい。
 ・前記ガラス物品の製造装置11のガラス溶融炉は、第1溶融炉12及び第2溶融炉13から構成されているが、さらに第3溶融炉を含んで構成することもできる。前記第1溶融炉12は、ガラス原料が投入される構成であるが、例えば、第1溶融炉12よりも上流側に第3溶融炉を設置し、その第3溶融炉にガラス原料を投入してもよい。また、例えば、第2溶融炉13と、清澄槽16との間に第3溶融炉を設置することもできる。
 ・前記第1流路14は、第1溶融炉12の流出部12aから第2溶融炉13の流入部13aまで直線的に延在しているが、例えば、上下に屈曲する屈曲部を有する流路や水平部分を有する流路に変更することもできる。前記第2流路17についても、第2溶融炉13の流出部13bから清澄槽16の流入部16aまで直線的に延在しているが、第1流路14と同様に他の形状に変更することもできる。
 ・前記ガラス物品の製造装置11及び製造方法により製造されるガラス物品の上述した組成は一例であり、例えば、アルカリ金属酸化物を含有する化学強化用ガラスであってもよい。具体的には、得られるガラス物品が、ガラス組成として、質量%で、SiO:50~80%、Al:5~25%、B:0~15%、NaO:1~20%、KO:0~10%を含有するようにガラス原料を調合して第1溶融炉12に投入してもよい。
 次に、実施例及び比較例について説明する。
 表1に示すように、各例では、ガラス物品の製造装置において、高低差H1,H2,H3,H4を設定し、オーバーフローダウンドロー法を用いて板ガラスを製造した。なお、各例におけるガラス原料の組成は、質量%で、SiO:60%、Al:16%、B:10%、MgO:0.3%、CaO:8%、SrO:5%、BaO:0.5%、SnO:0.2%である。また、第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの温度は、1500℃、第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの温度は、1600℃、清澄槽内の溶融ガラスの温度は、1680℃に設定した。
 板ガラスを成形した際の泡の減少効果及びうねりの低減効果について以下の評価方法で評価した。
 <泡の減少効果>
 板ガラス(2500mm×2200mm×0.5mm)を50枚製造し、各板ガラスに含まれる最大径100μm以上の泡の数を、暗室内で端面から光を照射した状態で目視にて計測した。計測した泡の数の平均値を板ガラス1kg当たりの個数に換算し、その換算値に基づき以下のように判定した。
板ガラス1kg当たりの泡の個数が0.1個未満の場合…4点。
板ガラス1kg当たりの泡の個数が0.1個以上、0.3個未満の場合…3点。
板ガラス1kg当たりの泡の個数が0.5個以上、1.0個未満の場合…2点。
板ガラス1kg当たりの泡の個数が1.0個以上の場合…1点。
 泡の減少効果の結果を表1に示す。
 <うねりの低減効果>
 板ガラス(2500mm×2200mm×0.5mm)を50枚製造し、各板ガラスについて、触針式の表面形状測定装置を用いて、JIS B0610に記載のWCA(ろ波中心線うねり)を測定した。この測定は、SEMI STD D15-1296に準拠し、測定時のカットオフは、0.008~0.8mm、板ガラスの引き出し方向に対して垂直な方向に2500mmの長さで測定した。このときの、うねりの最大値を求め、その最大値に基づき以下のように判定した。
うねりの最大値が0.02μm以下の場合…4点。
うねりの最大値が0.02μmを超え、0.05μm以下の場合…3点。
うねりの最大値が0.05μmを超え、0.10μm以下の場合…2点。
うねりの最大値が0.10μmを超える場合…1点。
 うねりの低減効果の結果を表1に示す。

 表1に示すように、実施例の泡の減少効果は、比較例よりも優れることが分かった。また、うねりの低減効果についても、実施例は比較例よりも優れることが分かった。

Claims (9)

  1.  溶融ガラスからガラス物品を製造するガラス物品の製造装置であって、
     第1溶融炉と第2溶融炉とを含むガラス溶融炉と、
     前記第1溶融炉の流出部から前記第2溶融炉の流入部へ溶融ガラスを送る流路とを備え、
     前記第2溶融炉の流入部は、前記第1溶融炉の流出部よりも上方に位置し、
     前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、前記第1溶融炉の流出部と前記第2溶融炉の流入部との高低差は、30%以上であることを特徴とするガラス物品の製造装置。
  2.  前記第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、前記第2溶融炉の流入部と前記第2溶融炉の流出部との高低差は、30%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のガラス物品の製造装置。
  3.  前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、
     前記第1溶融炉の内底と前記第2溶融炉の流入部の下端との高低差は、50%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載のガラス物品の製造装置。
  4.  前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの深さを100%とした場合、
     前記第1溶融炉の内底と前記第1溶融炉の流出部の上端との高低差は、50%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項に記載のガラス物品の製造装置。
  5.  清澄槽をさらに備え、前記第2溶融炉の流出部は、前記清澄槽に連結されることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載のガラス物品の製造装置。
  6.  前記第1溶融炉には、ガラス原料が投入されることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項5のいずれか一項に記載のガラス物品の製造装置。
  7.  前記ガラス物品は、オーバーフローダウンドロー法を用いて成形される板ガラスであることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項6のいずれか一項に記載のガラス物品の製造装置。
  8.  請求項1から請求項7のいずれか一項に記載のガラス物品の製造装置を用いてガラス物品を製造することを特徴とするガラス物品の製造方法。
  9.  前記第2溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの温度は、前記第1溶融炉内の溶融ガラスの温度よりも高いことを特徴とする請求項8に記載のガラス物品の製造方法。
