Description
なかでも、重合体鎖末端にハロゲン原子を有する共役ジエン重合体は、そのハロゲン原子を利用して、重合体鎖末端に所望の官能基等を導入することができるため、ゴム製品等の製造中間体として有用である。
従来、重合体鎖末端にハロゲン原子を有する、分子量分布が狭い共役ジエン重合体を製造する方法として、リビングラジカル重合法を利用する方法が知られている。
例えば、特許文献1には、特定のルテニウム錯体と有機ハロゲン化物とを用いて、共役ジエン単量体等をリビングラジカル重合法により重合させることにより、共役ジエン重合体を製造する方法が記載されている。
しかしながら、この方法を用いる場合、反応時間が長くなる傾向があった。そのため、目的の共役ジエン重合体をより短時間で製造し得る方法が望まれていた。また、この方法は、金属成分として比較的高価なルテニウムを用いるものであるため、より安価に目的の共役ジエン重合体を製造し得る方法が望まれていた。
本発明は、このような従来技術に鑑みてなされたものであり、重合体鎖末端にハロゲン原子を有し、かつ、所望の分子量を有し、分子量分布が狭い共役ジエン重合体を、より効率よく、かつ、より安価に製造する方法を提供することを目的とする。
〔1〕少なくとも共役ジエン単量体をリビングラジカル重合法により重合させることにより、重合体鎖末端にハロゲン原子を有する共役ジエン重合体を製造する方法であって、銅塩、sp2混成軌道を有する窒素原子を配位原子として有する多座配位子、及び有機ハロゲン化物を用いてリビングラジカル重合反応を開始させて、数平均分子量(Mn)が1,000~1,000,000、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)が2.0未満の共役ジエン重合体を製造することを特徴とする、共役ジエン重合体の製造方法。
〔2〕前記多座配位子の配位原子数が2~4である、〔1〕に記載の共役ジエン重合体の製造方法。
〔3〕前記多座配位子が、sp2混成軌道を有する窒素原子を配位原子として2個以上有するものである、〔1〕または〔2〕に記載の共役ジエン重合体の製造方法。
本発明の方法においては、単量体として、少なくとも共役ジエン単量体を用いる。
共役ジエン単量体としては、1,3-ブタジエン、イソプレン(2-メチル-1,3-ブタジエン)、2-エチル-1,3-ブタジエン、2,3-ジメチル-1,3-ブタジエン、クロロプレン(2-クロロ-1,3-ブタジエン)、1,3-ペンタジエン、2-メチル-1,3-ペンタジエン、4-メチル-1,3-ペンタジエン、1,3-ヘキサジエン、3,4-ジメチル-1,3-ヘキサジエン、2,4-ヘキサジエン、4,5-ジメチル-1,3-オクタジエン、3-ブチル-1,3-オクタジエン等が挙げられる。
これらの共役ジエン単量体は、1種単独で、あるいは2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。
これらの中でも、ゴム製品の製造原料としてより適する共役ジエン重合体が得られ易いことから、1,3-ブタジエン、イソプレン、又は1,3-ペンタジエンが好ましい。
これらのα,β-エチレン性不飽和単量体は1種単独で、あるいは2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。
これらの中でも、ゴム製品の製造原料としてより適する共役ジエン重合体が得られ易いことから、α,β-エチレン性不飽和ニトリル単量体、芳香族ビニル単量体、又は(メタ)アクリル酸エステル単量体が好ましい。
共役ジエン単量体の使用量が、10重量%以上であることで、ゴム製品の製造原料としてより適する共役ジエン重合体が得られ易くなる。
本発明の方法においては、銅塩、sp2混成軌道を有する窒素原子を配位原子として有する多座配位子、及び有機ハロゲン化物を用いて、リビングラジカル重合反応を開始させる。
銅(I)の塩としては、塩化第一銅、臭化第一銅、ヨウ化第一銅、酸化第一銅、過塩素酸第一銅等が挙げられる。
配位子(α)の配位原子数は、2~4が好ましく、2~3がより好ましく、2が特に好ましい。
また、配位子(α)は、配位原子として、sp2混成軌道を有する窒素原子を、2個以上有するものが好ましく、2~4個有するものより好ましく、2~3個有するものがさらに好ましく、2個有するものが特に好ましい。配位子(α)としては、より具体的には、分子内に(>C=N-)結合を2つから4つ有する化合物が挙げられる。
これらの要件を満たす配位子(α)を用いることで、共役ジエン重合体の分子量の制御がより容易になり、また、分子量分布がより狭い共役ジエン重合体が得られ易くなる。
Rの炭素数1~10のアルキル基としては、メチル基、エチル基、n-プロピル基、n-ブチル基、イソブチル基、s-ブチル基、t-ブチル基等が挙げられる。
Rの炭素数6~14のアリール基としては、フェニル基、1-ナフチル基、2-ナフチル基等が挙げられる。
R’の炭素数1~10のアルキル基、炭素数6~14のアリール基としては、Rのアルキル基又はアリール基として示したものと同様のものが挙げられる。
R’の炭素数1~10のアルコキシル基としては、メトキシ基、エトキシ基、n-プロポキシ基、n-ブトキシ基、イソブトキシ基、s-ブトキシ基、t-ブトキシ基等が挙げられる。
R’のハロゲン原子としては、フッ素原子、塩素原子、臭素原子、ヨウ素原子等が挙げられる。

本発明の方法において、有機ハロゲン化物の使用量は特に限定されないが、単量体100重量部に対して、通常、0.001~10重量部、好ましくは0.005~10重量部である。

また、銅塩、配位子(α)、有機ハロゲン化物、単量体等を混合することで、反応系内で銅錯体を生成させ、そのまま混合液を所定の温度に加熱することにより、リビングラジカル重合を開始させてもよい(方法2)。
溶媒としては、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素系溶媒;n-ブタン、n-ペンタン、n-ヘキサン等の脂肪族炭化水素系溶媒;シクロペンタン、シクロへキサン、シクロヘキセン等の脂環式炭化水素系溶媒;ジエチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン等のエーテル系溶媒;クロロホルム、クロロベンゼン等のハロゲン化炭化水素系溶媒;アセトン、メチルエチルケトン等のケトン系溶媒;メタノール、エタノール等のアルコール系溶媒;アセトニトリル、プロピオニトリル等のニトリル系溶媒;酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル等の鎖状エステル系溶媒;γ-ブチロラクトン等の環状エステル系溶媒;N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド等のアミド系溶媒;等が挙げられる。
また、これらの溶媒は、上記の方法1において銅錯体の調製に用いる溶媒として使用してもよい。
還元剤としては、金属銅;クエン酸、シュウ酸、アスコルビン酸等の有機酸類;ホルムアルデヒド、アセトアルデヒド、ベンズアルデヒド等のアルデヒド類;フェノール、ハイドロキノン等のフェノール類;トリメチルホスフィン、トリエチルホスフィン、トリフェニルホスフィン等のホスフィン類;等が挙げられる。
還元剤を使用する場合、その使用量は、銅塩に対して、通常、0.01~100モル当量、好ましくは0.1~50モル当量である。
ラジカル発生剤としては、2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル、2,2’-アゾビスプロパン、2,2’-ジクロロ-2,2’-アゾビスプロパン、1,1’-アゾ(メチルエチル)ジアセテート、1,1’-アゾビス-1-クロロフェニルエタン、1,1’-アゾビス-1-シクロヘキサンカルボニトリル、1,1’-アゾビス-1-シクロヘプタンニトリル、1,1’-アゾビス-1-フェニルエタン等のアゾ系ラジカル発生剤;過酸化アセチル、過酸化クミル、過酸化tert-ブチル、過酸化ベンゾイル、過酸化2-クロロベンゾイル、tert-ブチルヒドロペルオキシド等の過酸化物系ラジカル発生剤;等が挙げられる。
ラジカル発生剤を使用する場合、その使用量は、有機ハロゲン化物に対して、通常、0.01~10モル当量、好ましくは0.1~5モル当量である。
反応時間は特に限定されないが、通常、30分から48時間、好ましくは1~24時間である。
例えば、無溶媒でリビングラジカル重合反応を行ったときは、揮発成分を減圧留去することで目的の共役ジエン重合体を得ることができる。また、溶媒存在下にリビングラジカル重合反応を行ったときは、反応液から溶媒等を留去して得られた残留物から目的の共役ジエン重合体を得ることができる。また、反応液に貧溶媒を加えて重合体を析出させることで目的の共役ジエン重合体を得ることもできる。得られた共役ジエン重合体は、その後、乾燥工程を経てもよい。
本発明の方法により得られる共役ジエン重合体は、重合体鎖末端にハロゲン原子を有する。重合体鎖末端のハロゲン原子は、有機ハロゲン化物に由来するものである。
すなわち、本発明の方法によれば、公知のATRP(原子移動ラジカル重合反応)と同様に、末端にハロゲン原子を有する共役ジエン重合体を得ることができる。
重合体鎖末端にハロゲン原子が存在しているか否かは、1H-NMRを測定することにより判断することができる。
数平均分子量(Mn)と分子量分布(Mw/Mn)が上記範囲内の共役ジエン重合体は、ゴム製品の製造原料等としてより適する。
なお、数平均分子量(Mn)と分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は、テトラヒドロフランを溶媒とするゲル・パーミエーション・クロマトグラフィーを行って得られた、標準ポリスチレン換算値である。
例えば、上記のように、配位子(α)として、配位原子数が2~4のものや、sp2混成軌道を有する窒素原子を配位原子として2以上有するものを用いることで、分子量が大きく、かつ、分子量分布が狭い共役ジエン重合体が得られ易くなる。
また、還元剤やラジカル発生剤の存在下にリビングラジカル重合反応を行ったり、反応時間を長めに設定したりすることで、狭い分子量分布を維持したまま、共役ジエン重合体の分子量を大きくすることができる。
例えば、本発明の方法により得られた共役ジエン重合体を溶媒に溶解させ、さらに、単量体(I)、銅塩、多座配位子等を加えて重合反応を行うことで、この共役ジエン重合体からなるブロックと、単量体(I)からなるブロックとを含むブロック共重合体が得られる。
このように、本発明の方法により得られる共役ジエン重合体は、様々な機能を有する重合体を製造する際の製造中間体として好適に用いることができる。
(1)単量体の転化率
ガスクロマトグラフ分析を行って、各単量体の転化率を求めた。
具体的な転化率の求め方は、内部標準法に基づき、内部標準であるメシチレンに対する残存モノマーの比より算出した。
(2)分子量測定
共役ジエン重合体の重量平均分子量(Mw)及び数平均分子量(Mn)は、ゲル・パーミエーション・クロマトグラフィーを行い、標準ポリスチレン換算値として求めた。
ゲル・パーミエーション・クロマトグラフィーの具体的な測定条件は、以下のとおりとした。
測定器:高速液体クロマトグラフ(東ソー社製、商品名「HLC-8220」)
カラム:東ソー社製ポリスチレン系カラム、商品名「TSKgel HHR G6000,G5000,G4000,G2500」を4本直列に連結した。
検出器:示差屈折計
溶離液:テトラヒドロフラン
カラム温度:40℃
(3)重合体鎖末端の分析
1H-NMR分析により、重合体鎖末端の臭素原子に隣接した炭素上のプロトンを確認することによって、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在するか否かを調べた。
(1)単量体

C:ペンタエリスリトール テトラキス(2-ブロモイソブチレート)
(4)還元剤
A:銅粉
B:アスコルビン酸
(5)ラジカル発生剤
A:1,1’-アゾビス(シクロヘキサン-1-カルボニトリル)
窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス製反応容器に、銅塩として臭化第1銅(和光純薬工業社製、以下同じ)0.43部、多座配位子として1,10-フェナントロリン(東京化成工業社製、以下同じ)1.62部、単量体としてアクリロニトリル(和光純薬工業社製、以下同じ)79.6部、およびイソプレン(東京化成工業社製、以下同じ)102.2部、有機ハロゲン化物としてメチル2-ブロモイソブチレート(和光純薬工業社製、以下同じ)5.4部、ガスクロマトグラフ分析用内部標準としてメシチレン(和光純薬工業社製、以下同じ)23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で18時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応生成物中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は66%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は56%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は3,870、数平均分子量(Mn)は2,700、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.44であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例1において、さらに還元剤として銅粉(和光純薬工業社製、以下同じ)0.57部を添加し、1,10-フェナントロリンの量を6.48部に変更したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は85%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は75%であった。重量平均分子量(Mw)は10,690、数平均分子量(Mn)は7,150、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.50であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス製反応容器に、臭化第1銅1.72部、1,10-フェナントロリン6.48部、アクリロニトリル238.8部、イソプレン306.5部、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレート0.27部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で18時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応生成物中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は36%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は32%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は17,640、数平均分子量(Mn)は14,040、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.26であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス製反応容器に、臭化第1銅0.43部、1,10-フェナントロリン6.48部、銅粉0.57部、アクリロニトリル238.8部、イソプレン306.5部、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレート0.27部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で18時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応生成物中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は62%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は55%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は211,800、数平均分子量(Mn)は135,000、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.57であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例4において、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレートに代えて、2,5-ジブロモアジピン酸ジエチル(東京化成工業社製)0.54部を使用したこと以外は、実施例4と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は65%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は60%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は80,000、数平均分子量(Mn)は51,800、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.55であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例4において、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレートに代えて、ペンタエリスリトールテトラキス(2-ブロモイソブチレート)(Sigma-Aldrich社製)1.1部を使用したこと以外は実施例4と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は69%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は59%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は134,300、数平均分子量(Mn)は83,700、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.61であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス製反応容器に、臭化第1銅0.14部、1,10-フェナントロリン5.4部、還元剤としてアスコルビン酸(東京化成工業社製)1.76部、アクリロニトリル238.8部、イソプレン306.5部、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレート0.27部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で18時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応生成物中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は57%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は55%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は128,800、数平均分子量(Mn)は76,200、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.69であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス製反応容器に、臭化第1銅4.3部、1,10-フェナントロリン16.2部、ラジカル発生剤として1,1’-アゾビス(シクロヘキサン-1-カルボニトリル)(和光純薬工業社製)1.46部、アクリロニトリル79.6部、イソプレン102.2部、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレート5.4部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で18時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応生成物中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は82%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は69%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は10,300、数平均分子量(Mn)は6,250、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.64であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例8において、1,10-フェナントロリンに代えて、2,2’-ビピリジル(東京化成工業社製、以下同じ)14.1部を使用したこと以外は、実施例8と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は74%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は67%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は6,230、数平均分子量(Mn)は3,710、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.68であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例8において、1,10-フェナントロリンに代えて、4,4’-ジメチル-2,2’-ビピリジル(東京化成工業社製)16.6部を使用したこと以外は、実施例8と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は80%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は73%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は7,900、数平均分子量(Mn)は4,670、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.69であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例8において、1,10-フェナントロリンに代えて、トリス(2-ピリジルメチル)アミン26.1部を使用したこと以外は、実施例8と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は80%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は75%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は11,500、数平均分子量(Mn)は6,360、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.81であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例8において、1,10-フェナントロリンに代えて、N-ブチル-(2-ピリジル)メタンイミン(Sigma-Aldrich社製)14.6部を使用したこと以外は、実施例8と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は65%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は58%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は8,500、数平均分子量(Mn)は4,630、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.84であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例8において、1,10-フェナントロリンに代えて、2-ピコリンアミド(東京化成工業社製)11.0部を使用したこと以外は、実施例8と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は76%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は70%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は14,700、数平均分子量(Mn)は7,800、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.88であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
〔実施例14〕
窒素置換した1Lのオートクレーブ内に、臭化第1銅0.59部、2,2’-ビピリジル11.5部、銅粉1.30部、アクリロニトリル94.9部、1,3-ブタジエン(東京化成工業社製)124.7部、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレート5.4部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で18時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応生成物中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、ブタジエン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたブタジエン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、1,3-ブタジエンの転化率は87%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は76%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は4,690、数平均分子量(Mn)は3,350、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.39であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例9において、アクリロニトリルに代えて、メタクリル酸メチル(東京化成工業社製)150.2部を使用したこと以外は、実施例9と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-メタクリル酸メチルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-メタクリル酸メチルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は65%、メタクリル酸メチルの転化率は54%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は14,600、数平均分子量(Mn)は8,310、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.76であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例9において、アクリロニトリルに代えて、スチレン(東京化成工業社製)156.0部を使用したこと以外は、実施例9と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-スチレンランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-スチレンランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は52%、スチレンの転化率は27%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は9,730、数平均分子量(Mn)は5,690、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.71であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
実施例9において、アクリロニトリルに代えて、アクリル酸ブチル(和光純薬工業社製)192.0部を使用したこと以外は、実施例9と同様にして重合反応を行い、イソプレン-アクリル酸ブチルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリル酸ブチルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は72%、アクリル酸ブチルの転化率は56%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は10,710、数平均分子量(Mn)は6,480、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.65であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス製反応容器に、臭化第1銅0.43部、1,10-フェナントロリン6.48部、銅粉0.57部、アクリロニトリル238.8部、イソプレン306.5部、メチル2-ブロモイソブチレート1.62部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で18時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応生成物中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は59%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は54%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は59,830、数平均分子量(Mn)は32,020、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.87であった。また、重合体鎖末端に臭素原子が存在していることを確認した。
次いで、窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス製反応容器に、前記イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体(分析を行った残りの全量)、臭化第1銅2.15部、トルエン150.0部、メタクリル酸メチル150.2部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を100℃で24時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応溶液中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、(イソプレン-アクリロニトリル)/メタクリル酸メチルブロック共重合体を得た。
得られた(イソプレン-アクリロニトリル)/メタクリル酸メチルブロック共重合体について各分析を行った結果、メタクリル酸メチルの転化率は43%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は98,420、数平均分子量(Mn)は49,460、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.99であった。
実施例1において、1,10-フェナントロリンに代えて、N,N,N’,N”,N”-ペンタメチルジエチレントリアミン(東京化成工業社製)5.81部を使用したこと以外は実施例1と同様にして重合反応を行った。
反応生成物について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は25%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は24%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は440、数平均分子量(Mn)は400、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.10であり、得られたものはオリゴマーであった。
窒素置換したグローブボックス内で、30mLのガラス反応容器に、クロロペンタメチルシクロペンタジエニルトリフェニルホスフィンη2-アクリロニトリルルテニウム(WO2013/038957号パンフレットに記載の方法により合成したもの)1.17部、溶媒としてトルエン263部、活性化剤としてジブチルアミン2.58部、単量体としてアクリロニトリル53.0部及びイソプレン68.2部、有機ハロゲン化物としてメチルα-クロロフェニルアセテート(Sigma-Aldrich社製)3.7部、メシチレン23.5部を加え、全容を80℃で142時間撹拌し、重合反応を行った。
次いで、反応溶液中の揮発分を減圧留去した後、残渣を乾燥し、イソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体を得た。
得られたイソプレン-アクリロニトリルランダム共重合体について各分析を行った結果、イソプレンの転化率は88%、アクリロニトリルの転化率は82%、重量平均分子量(Mw)は2,660、数平均分子量(Mn)は1,640、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)は1.62であった。なお、反応開始から18時間経過したとき(実施例の重合時間に相当する時間)においては、十分な量の重合体は生成していなかった。
比較例1と異なり、実施例1~18においては、分子量が大きく、かつ、分子量分布が狭い共役ジエン重合体が得られている。
また、参考例1と比べて、実施例1~18においては、目的の共役ジエン重合体を製造に係る時間が大幅に短縮されている。
Claims (3)
- 少なくとも共役ジエン単量体をリビングラジカル重合法により重合させることにより、重合体鎖末端にハロゲン原子を有する共役ジエン重合体を製造する方法であって、
銅塩、sp2混成軌道を有する窒素原子を配位原子として有する多座配位子、及び有機ハロゲン化物を用いてリビングラジカル重合反応を開始させて、
数平均分子量(Mn)が1,000~1,000,000、分子量分布(Mw/Mn)が2.0未満の共役ジエン重合体を製造することを特徴とする、共役ジエン重合体の製造方法。 - 前記多座配位子の配位原子数が2~4である、請求項1に記載の共役ジエン重合体の製造方法。
- 前記多座配位子が、sp2混成軌道を有する窒素原子を配位原子として2個以上有するものである、請求項1または2に記載の共役ジエン重合体の製造方法。
